hey what's up everybody welcome back to the moon channel so we're gonna do another armor test today you guys may remember a little while back I did an armor test with something called a hasp H ASP so this is made by a hoplite and what this is is a shoulder armor protection plate so you know that side plates go down on your side and they protect kind of the lower part of your torso so the idea with the hasp and offer some protection to the side of your upper torso so last time around we tested these with m193 these are three plus plus the last ones I tested were three plus which meant that they were good for m80 308 and they were good for and 193 these these ones will also stop 760 by 3 9 mild steel core and they will stop em 855 which if you saw the last video I'll put a link in the descriptions you can check it out we shot em 855 3 the last one those were ultra high molecular weight polyethylene these have a ceramic I'm not sure if you guys will be able to hear it now probably not in the video these have a ceramic strike face and then a polyethylene backer I have yet to see a ceramic body armor the m855a1 will go through so I brought some of that I brought the fastest m193 that I know of I brought some green tip just to show you know that it does what they say you know so for these tests we're gonna be shooting everything out of this 20 inch AR you guys remember I've been using this for a lot of tests lately it's got the fax in barrel the 20 inch barrel and the TAC 30 scope on it so we'll use that we'll set up these gel blobs that the guy makes and this is kind of just like sort of a filler to go in behind the dented in part you know in the back of the armor just so that you don't kind of cave the whole thing in so we'll strap these to the punching bag and I also have a level 4 plate here from hoplite and you guys that have held level 4 armor before you know that it's it's pretty beefy you know it's pretty heavy can see how thick this plate is we're gonna hit that with several shots but we'll get to that in a little bit first thing I want to do is get these armor plates set up against the punching bag with a gel behind them and then we'll start taking some shots from you know the five five six and see if this thing lives up to the three plus Plus name that they've got it listed a there you can see the gel behind the hasp we've got a strap to the punching bag we're gonna try some m855 green tips first we'll try a couple shots of these and then I'll switch over to the m193 we'll try a couple shots of that all from the 20 inch barrel and now we'll see how the hash holds up are there you can see the two shots from the green tip you got one there and one there look down here now get some back based information business anything's coming out of the back alright and there you can see you know a little bit of bubbling on the back or whatever but definitely nothing came through the gel you can see a couple of bubbles there and a couple dents and a little bit of fabric and stuff on the gel but nothing all right so we'll try we got some more space on the bottom of this we'll try the m193 next alright so they're the two m193 rounds and from here it kind of looks like one went through I'm getting up from behind the strap and we'll see what it looks like now yeah it certainly did you can see the line there I went through and you can see on the back of the gel where the round came out so they want a space white I wouldn't say on top of each other but they were close okay so I brought it back up to the table to kind of inspect it a little bit more and at first I thought that the round just kind of pushed the material out of the way and kind of slip past it but after looking at it a little bit more you can see right there it actually went through so I just took one of these other bullets to try and push it you're there to see if there really was a hole because it's kind of hard to tell but it looks like there is there you can see on the inside so there is a hole through it so it did actually go through the backer which is very surprising to me we did spot both of the green tips and we did stop one round of m193 but then the fourth one there went through so next what I'm gonna do is try the m855a1 on this other plate I'll go ahead and get a new gel blob and I'll strap that up to the punching bag and we'll see how it does against the EPR round we can see the first m855a1 impacted down there and the second when I put a little bit higher up and it kind of looks like we may have some action on that one I don't know let's get out from behind the strap here's a look at the back of it and you can see both of the EPR rounds did go through take this off of the back of the plate and kind of see the holes is a little bit cleaner than the m193 that we saw go through there zpr runs a pretty wicked man they they punch straight through you can see little to the fuzz from the inside of the punching bag and I've seen that before I think it's a phenomena the when the round goes through it kind of like gets into the punching bag and then you know there's gels very elastic I think it kind of pulls some of the fibers back out try and show you guys kind of a side view you can see that all right so maybe hard to tell just by looking at it but there is a double candle or this is a m61 it's an older black tip 308 round you can see most of the paint's worn off of the tip it's been floating around for some time so we're gonna try that armor-piercing round against the level four I strapped it to the same bag and we'll just see how it does are there you can see where we hit the front of the plate and roll it up a little bit here so you guys can see all the smashed up ceramic when we look at the entrance over you guys can see on the back a little bit of a dent a little bit of a summation but nothing too bad you know these are ready to stop there you got six armor-piercing which is just a little bit faster than the black tip 308 but definitely still a very impressive plate and a little bit for plates do such a good job of kind of disrupting and deforming the projectiles on their way in and they just have a real hard time getting through you know that much ceramic and that big of a polyethylene backer right so just more or less for fun I'm gonna shoot the rest of these green tips maybe even a few more at this level for plate I'll just kind of spread them out and see how it holds up to multiple shots of five six all right so here is the level 4 plate after all those hits of green tip when you can see how brutal that is after one round of 308 armor-piercing and seven shots of green tip nothing came through I just goes to show you guys how tough these level four plates really are and this one from hoplite is no exception I mean that's you don't really have there's the little bubbles here I mean little ones and nothing even as big as that first shot this is probably the biggest one but you can see it was kind of on the edge after the plate was smacked up a little bit but yeah really not a whole lot of deformation you can see all this ceramic pouring out not a whole lot of deformation so I'll put a link in the description it's a hoplite armor if you guys want to go over and check out any other stuff you know level four plates three plus plus half plates if you guys have any questions you know leave them in the comments always answer the questions I appreciate you watching the wound Channel and we'll catch you next time
