hey y'all dumb phones is pop again and we're going to compare wine yeast to bread yeast and see which one's better be right back I know by new cars and old by brand names I go to Goodwill for my clothes my life save money alive fine bargains is the life I chose I've rolled then a way up I had to use another day but all this job well if you've been watching you know that a month or so ago I made up several bottles of wine I think I made up eight of these and part of them was with winemakers yeast and part of them was with bread makers yeast now here's the theory and what we're going to try to prove here's one that myth buster things i well supposedly the bread makers yeast dies before wine makers each does as your alcohol increases in your wine as the alcohol level increases yeasts of different strains will die and supposedly the bread makers yeast is the weakest and it will only survive an alcohol content up to a certain amount now the wine that you buy in the grocery store most of it is between 10 and 12 percent alcohol my viewers tell me that my line is 16 to 20 percent and you can tell that with a hydrometer well I did not measure these before I put them away to ferment so I don't have a starting reading but I'll be able to just I'll just say it started will pretend a number okay because it doesn't matter because I want to check both of these and see if we get a different reading and that's the scientific way the redneck way is which of them taste the strongest but anyway a bunch of my viewers have claimed they're getting sixteen to twenty percent alcohol using my recipe and I'm gonna recommend the easiest way to do this is follow my recipe pop-on makes line and forty seconds I'll put a link down there in the description pop all makes wine in 40 seconds you watching a easiest way the world to do it make it real simple for you if you use wine makers use they claim that the winemakers yeast can survive in an environment that has more alcohol in it so supposedly you don't up in the 20s percent okay and then distillers yeast like you making whiskey is supposed to right well an upper alright well I've never bought wine makers East because number one they don't sell it local grocery store I don't I don't live in a town big enough that's got a winemaking supply house the closest one to me is Murfreesboro about 45 miles away and I even checks how much stuff costs it's kind of pricey because I can buy a three packet pack at the grocery store for 89 cents or something like that there's no dimer see there's nothing there to make oddball what you want anyhow this one I marked did the up now I marked as W on top of this for wine of this when I left alone I do want to tell you that if you will let your winemaker look after it's done ferment let it sit for another week if you've got the patience and all those particular they all settle down to the bottom and you wagging it's a nice translucent look in the see through it and it's just a lot prettier a lot of people talk about the cloudiness in their wine if you're just if you were just leave it alone and let it do its thing all those little particulates are fall the bottom and people ask me do i rack my don't whine I poured gently I put real careful on the jug and that's why I make mine in two [ __ ] bottles I do not make mine in a five-gallon carboy but that's entirely if that's what you aren't doing it that's what you do it you'll know it's done when it's just as dead as a stable cup of coffee there's no bubbles in it nothing it's just sitting there oh you said must be down at the bottom but like I said I don't make a 5-gallon jug I just make this because it's easy to handle I can just set a Jill getting free in the frigerator chill it if I want to people ask me how long does it last and lasts until I drink it all and the advantage this is you don't have to worry about bottling any I mean if you're making five gallons that's awful lot of wine I have just sitting around that's an awful lot so I just you know when I'm in a wine drinking mood I'll make me up a couple of bottles weekly so that every week another gallon is coming off fresh you know and it's and it's ready and it doesn't have to be sitting around stored forever you know oh this is a fine month this is April's no we don't have it all right well let's let's get to the test in here okay this is the non this is the regular bread yeast and this is the winemakers yeast there's a dub you Lynette don't know if you can see it that far away go get it up Humpty lazy like I said I'm still fighting this cold and here's a Brit yeast oh that smells good this smells like a long I'm used to you know what that might be a little strong grant why make your yeast might of my death little bit stronger okay now supposedly the way this works I've no expert on this okay you look it up for yourself but you're supposed to put your hydrometer in your wine when you first make it and wonder if it floats till you write that number down and then whenever you measure it again after it's made its supposed to float different because it's got alcohol in pretty sure this is supposed to be proof how what proof it is but again I would have to know the beginning number so I don't know the beginning number but let's just see what happens here well let's float lippert pretty high let's look up here daddy all right let's try to beer that was not get something a little deeper and what would deeper do well deep furred mean I've got the higher proof okay well scientifically so far it's waiting out this appears to have more alcohol in it now I've got to taste it you know it's a dirty job but I'd do it for y'all you know yeah I'll make the sacrifice just for mine just for our viewers pretty little glass wine there mmm it smells pretty Oh what it would wouldn't take a whole lot of this might make a person happy now I'm telling you oh my god the glass or two of that I fell asleep good I should have been drinking this couple weeks ago when I forgot his sickness hmm Oh about the only crack Berger got around here a dog biscuit I can eat one of them Oh there's one of the wine yeast oh my god holy crap oh oh oh oh [ __ ] oh [ __ ] people oh oh god oh I don't know what proof that is I don't know what percent alcohol it is oh lord have mercy god is good whoa whoa whoa not God oh my god I'm gonna pause this for just a minute I'm gonna let my wife taste this cuz she really likes wine I'm gonna get her opinion on this too what she says I'll be right back yo did y'all just win then I'm
