welcome back to another video guys i've seen a lot of comments people are really happy they can't smell what they're seeing on video and uh that's because the last two weeks pretty much we've been just hauling manure liquid and solid manure but since we've been doing it for two weeks now that means we're done the corrals we're done the lagoon and i actually have one more load that i gotta haul out here before i can say that i'm actually done for this spring and that is the cap room that i'm standing in right now all these buggers just got moved out to the next barn over and we got to clean this room out we figured since we got all the manure equipment hooked up and ready to go i figured we'd toss it right away into that manure wagon and uh put it right out on the field so still using the bueller versatile and we're gonna be using the new holland wheel loader so where's the bulkhead spawn i thought you were going to get it i'll go and get it so i'm going to go and grab the skid steer so we can scoop those rims out and then we're probably going to scoop it into the loader bucket i think we're gonna try i'd like to see if the bobcat can actually reach into that spreader i don't think it will but uh there's only one way to find out [Music] [Music] so the bobcats are in the sand room and that's because we use them to scrape the barn we just take one of those skid steers to clean out those rooms and they're at the back of this barn here you can see i might have closed the curtains up a little bit more since the last time we looked at them because we've been having some colder days out here i think it got down to -10 overnight so i figured you know what we're gonna tighten those uh panels up a little bit let a little bit less cold air into the barn overnight except these ladies to stay a bit warmer eeny meeny miny moe i usually like to take the bigger one it's a little bit newer it's got air conditioning and uh it's comfier so why not take this one the bucket we're gonna grab i think is just outside probably on the concrete over there so see if we can find it oh our bucket's still inside the sound room i just missed it it's right here it actually fit over the edge [Music] fills up the wagon pretty good i didn't think it would fill it up that much but i guess one room equals one wagon we throw all the bedding in by hand too by the way so that's a lot [Music] so [Music] well guys you saw it that was the last bucket of manure for the spring of 2021 i couldn't be happier two weeks of uh hauling manure is definitely enough for me two weeks straight so yeah i'm happy [Music] [Music] we are in the barn right now and we're just grabbing group one bringing them up into the parlor first morning back after hall of manure for quite a while so yeah get them open to the holding area um so cows are out of their group now we're gonna grab the bobcat scrape the alleys and then we're gonna be tossing sand in this morning as well we will turn the circulation pump on and we're also going to check the oil on the skid steer here perfect so i really hope the cows enjoy that sand bedding because it is a really big hassle this is a monster calf i don't know how big this thing is little man so there's a little guy in his pen so i'm gonna get the question why do you take the calf away from its mom first reason that cow is going to go ahead and produce 50 to 60 liters probably she can even do more there's no way that little cat there is going to be able to drink it and if the udder on the cow is not emptied out completely she can get really sick second reason we like to pasteurize the milk before we feed it to the calves just to prevent any transmission of diseases there's not necessarily any diseases but if there was if we pasteurize it we can stay away from that and get rid of the entire possibility we also believe that calves grow a lot better in our opinion they grow better on pasteurized milk versus raw milk or milk replacer and that is why we also want to separate them so we can give them a better quality product and they'll grow faster another thing those holsteins they're not the best moms in the world when i got there that mom was literally ramming the calf in between a gate with her head they don't really know how to take care of a calf really good and those are just a couple of reasons there's a lot more but those are the main reasons why we separate the calf it's also a lot easier to um raise the calf looks like we got a load of dried distillers grain coming out to the farm this afternoon and i'm gonna go and line the auger up to our big white bin super tall and uh we're gonna use this red auger here drop it in that bin but recently we just put a new set of cups on here and this auger barely reached that bin so we might have to cut one or two of those cups off just that it's gonna be a little bit taller to reach in that bin because it was actually that close and the old socks and the old cups that were on this auger they're a bit shorter i think there's a couple less of them on there and that's why i was actually able to reach into that bin so i guess we're first gonna try it see if it actually fits in there and then maybe we'll have to adjust pull it down in which case we'll just lower it down cut the two cups off with a knife and then try again [Music] all right so we tried to line it up but it's just too tall so i think we're going to cut two cups off here just backed it up to the stairs on the side of this other bin super easy tried it again with the one cup removed lined right up just went over there's probably an inch of clearance or something so uh yeah works good dad unloaded the truck of dry distillers grand that showed up so the auger is back in the shop here and i'm gonna move a gps over from our mx285 which is right there last video you guys saw the things transmission gave up so we're not going to be able to use that thing anymore until it's fixed so i'm going to take the gps out of there it's just a light bar gps pretty simple unit and we're going to be putting it into our other magnum the older one because we're going to need to roll and hero with it the gps i'm going to be taking out of it is a light bar so you still have to manually steer it but it keeps your lines in the field perfectly straight we're gonna be putting it back into this one and then after that we're gonna hook it up to our harrow so this is the unit on top of the mx285 it's just a magnet you can take it off like that super easily but we need to move this plate over to the other magnum as well we got the receiver on the roof the display is here moment of truth all you got to do now is plug it into the 12 volt outlet in the tractor see if she turns on there we go i already took the portable air tank just compressed it up we're gonna go ahead and drive this to the shop put some grease and all the grease zerks check all the rest of the tires they're all still around but we just wanna make sure there's enough tire pressure in there and then we'll get this thing ready to go and we can here with some fields got her pulled up to shop here i just checked this first tire and there's about 50 psi in there and that's how i usually do it the highest psi is the one i'll make all of them so we're gonna check all the tires in this thing make sure they're at least 50. that is gonna be it for today's video guys if you enjoyed it i hope to see you guys in the next one and uh thanks for watching as always
