accomplished for us Lord that's what's working in us thank you Jesus today thank you for every person is gathered thank you that we gather around your name the name of Jesus no other name will be grateful today amen amen while you're singing beautifully it's the 11:15 a.m. service here at Hills easily the most spiritual prayer easily the most spiritual crowd in the entire church which starts with their actual service pastors it just works for the whole place chat little the West Tigers your present mine are working directly against each other all the time well listen that's all nonsense by the way but this is true this is true we have the chance this morning to be focusing on Jesus and we're gonna participate in what he had which was the Last Supper so we're gonna partake in communion together and the focus on Jesus is dead the fact that his body was broken that his blood was spilled so people have passed the emblems around and we're gonna just keep worshiping Jesus worship with one eye open so that you know that the the bread and the in the cups coming otherwise someone left a Dookie but we'll keep worshiping and then all together in a moment we'll think of Jesus around they like the Lord's Supper right now amen [Music] [Applause] [Music] but he gave [Applause] [Music] they shall eat [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] not perish but have eternal life all because of Jesus because when he died his body was broken and it wasn't only for us since then God that he saves us of as sin but as to his sickness was for your pain I believe us for poverty I believe it was for all of those things sin through humanity into we love to thank Jesus for every think of his body broken brutally on that cross why don't we eat together just thank God for Jesus [Music] the core survivor says that in the same manner afterwards they took the cap they took the wine it was all in Jesus closest he began to talk about the power that was in his blood encouraged that when they got together in the future after his crucifixion though they would remember the blood that was spilled in the power that was in that blood net power today is available to us come on let's drink and consider Jesus [Music] when you hit the time of your pass that comes along the ends of the no collective there [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] and it's in this same blood there's the power to bring healing and life and answers to every one of these prayer requests come on put your hand towards them there's too many to mention the ball and we just thank you Jesus but every prayer request that's coming on the screen and Lord everyone that's compiled here then she know the Lord and Lord your body was broken for healing yes stood for forgiveness of sins and salvation the Lord we just believe every one of these needs every one of these situation that we can look to everything that the cross represents and we can thank you that I shouldn't resurrection life but you bring life to every one of these needs you know the ball and we believe in miracles have breakthrough and victory and healing in Jesus let me see what last time everybody [Music] [Music] [Music] hello sending some of the great stories that come out of again Jesus allowing his body to be broken and his blood to be spilled giving us hope for the future bringing us resurrection life someone here says after eight years ago being given two weeks to live with stage four cancer praise God and thanks only to Jesus I'm still alive haha that's good news here people are thinking God their visas been approved and it's brought the family together and so I love seeing God working people's lives someone else thinking God because they had a biopsy with a good result and so that's what you like to hear isn't it God's favor for health and people giving thanks for new homes and for jobs and all sorts of successful operation and all sorts of amazing things here so thank God for and it is good to have you in church we are glad to hear July 1st beginning of a brand-new financial year that's pretty significant right there and so what do you believe in this financial year what are you know so in terms your honor God and put him first in your life we're going to have a 2 second mingle I don't want this church getting too friendly a two-second mingle we like to break it up a bit then you can be seated you can start to get your giving ready and there are different ways that you can give this morning behind me on the screen and if you are new or visiting our church we want you to feel at home and don't want you to feel under any pressure but if you'd like you're more than welcome to be involved if you wish so a few verses to frame our faith this morning as we bring our tithes and our offerings to the Lord some 37 verse 21 and verses 23 and 24 says the wicked borrow and never repay but the godly are generous givers the Lord directs the steps of the godly he delights in every detail of their lives say every detail okay that's where the word says though they stumble they will never fall for the Lord holds them by the hand these powerful few verses it says the weaker we could borrow but never repay that we could take but never give back but the godly they're generous they give their hands are open they share that's you know it's not what we say we believe it's actions right the godly are generous givers how powerful the Lord directs the steps of the godly or other versions say the steps of a good man or woman are ordered by the Lord though we stumble we'll never fall I think this morning is we do want to God with our finances this morning the powerful thing to remember as followers of Jesus as people who are living by God's ways God's Word says that I'm going to direct your steps even when you stumble you're not going to fall I've got you like we hear the words I've got this well he really has got us and what a great circuit breaker tithing is what a great thing to know that you and I as followers of Christ aren't limited by this natural world we've you have access to God our Father in Heaven and he is able to override everything going on our environment everything going on for your business everything going on with your finances he is able to override and intervene and break the circuit of this natural world I was talking to someone this week who is not a churchgoer and they said how I talk to the universe I'm like well the universe has a name the universe is God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit and they I they love us and they are helping us amen so let's take out giving this morning whether it's been online or in this meeting and let's commit it to God father we're doing this because we love you and we're honoring you and we love that you're able to take this and multiply it to reach and help people father and as we do this Lord we know we trust that Lord you will continue to direct our steps at this new start of the financial year that you are gonna guide us into all goodness and all blessing in Jesus mighty name amen amen so our hosts are gonna serve you and as that happens check out the screens because Hillsong conference one week away and this is a little glimpse of young and free and Hillsong kids young free [Music] your life can be changed not only forget and I'm looking forward to seeing all of our own kids there [Music] well you haven't free of a brand-new album it's called one-one-one where I grew up there was emergency one one one so this is called emergency it's actually called three can I tell you right now young and free don't get fooled there's an incredible album there everyone will enjoy young people are definitely going to enjoy it but I have to tell you I I've blessed for these songs my son Joel who knows a little bit about songs and songwriter to worship he said he thinks genuinely this the best album ever to come out of our church and that's high praise obviously cuz over the last 25 years plus has been a lot of amazing worship come out of our church this is brand new it's fresh you can give it to someone as a gift some people still love good old CDs 64 year olds like me we love good old CDs we're yeah yeah the whole album not just a little picky bit here and a picky bit there no no we don't do all that Spotify stuff we like to listen to the whole album yeah that's how genuine worship is listen to you get the CD anyway however you get it make sure you get it alright download it do whatever you wish just make sure you look like someone who I would love to give this to their yeah fantastic because you are young and free that's why young and free dr. hood just news watch the screens [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] too many of us reduced God down to the size of our brains God wants to go to places that are bigger than your brain he wants you to see things not as they are but as they could be if all you see is what's around you you'll end up just managing an earthly reality when there's a supernatural potential it's critical what you see this is a continuation of a story this is Chapter three in that time now to reflect and look at all the things that God's done in the Old Testament they would build altars where God had been faithful to them and then you know when the next person was walking by like they'd be like oh that's so cool this is where God answered this person's prayer and I think this album three is just like another altar on the journey where God answered prayer what God gave us songs like God gave us revelation the first time I heard it I just had this overwhelming feeling to break it down [Music] hopefully other people have that same reaction [Applause] [Music] sometimes I wonder is that more he declares blessing over his people his same my kingdom has come and the kingdom stops now not one day when you go to heaven but now some of you are defending yourself against the same heaven that loves you so much and his one and only son so that you would never know death but get to know Jesus I want to be where God is I can't cry over things that didn't work out because I'm facing forward into what is and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom God is doing a new thing God doesn't have love God doesn't do love God is love our God is love and he can no more deny himself than stop loving humanity Jesus is not just a savior he's a jailbreaker he can break you out of prison he can break you from bondage he can free do some sin and shame and guilt he's a chain breaker don't underestimate what God can do have an expectation that God will exceed an excited we dream that you have you can make a difference [Music] [Music] one week er one way to the biggest week in the life of that church every year what are you doing to grow up your little children when how can I get a mature front row how can I get a mature front no let me God we got Serge here and he's basically leading the rebellion he's the guy he's the guys the guys are the 17 cities think I get the ball keep it on trapping we're past the Bryant's tried to talk said you're just a troublemaker that's what you are that's why we love you that's why most of the church are angry with me right now because I actually love you a lot what they love me and so hey listen Hillsong conference we're just gonna believe for an outpouring of God's Spirit there is more we're believer for 12 months and we're gonna believe that we're going to see God do more this conference that we could ever imagine in the lives of people and significant things significant words from God we haven't brought all these world class people from all around the world including Donna Crouch right here others she doesn't slow clap me is that daughter cuz I'm usually going on there's a mutiny going on and I love it don't ever change Church who wants a serious Church what I love is how you guys know how to have fun but you also know how to get serious with God and so you want a serious church I'll give you a list of them you can the go and yeah there's one just up the road and down around the corner open it's called nah just kiddin yeah it's kiddin ya anyway stop interrupting me we're gonna have an amazing conference you can now as of today booked for $20 just night tickets but it's a guaranteed to get inside the building so if you can't come at the date Thomas a pity a car but for $20 you can get her into your seat in the building in the night so there's only a very limited amount of those available but you won't be in an overflow tent or whatever you'll be actually inside the building so no overflow tents this year as far as I know correct um we've been told and so it'll be fantastic and then next weekend we've got Judy Smith and Chris Hodges in church and tonight right across the church tonight we have Robbie Sondra Kerr speaking this guy's freak he's a literary world-class snowboarder a world-class skier he's a psychologist who works with the greatest trauma victims in the world former child soldiers and all sorts he just been recently working with trauma victims in another developing country somewhere and I think that guy's probably an astronaut and a brain scientist as well but he's a phenomenal a phenomenal communicator and I know he's spoken live into so many people in a church so he's speaking across the church tonight so speaking about across the church I know you're all they're all up and down in Australia and in Bali as well and you're loved and I'm glad we're all in this together and everyone at Hills is going to give the rest of that just keep it in mind right now we're speaking to more people by far outside of this room that inside of this room and there's a good crowd of people inside this room so let's give all those other people a big hand here some pills and obviously if you watching turds in the air or you you're live streaming then you're part of our service as well it's cool okay I think I'm ready I'm not sure what I'm ready for I'm ready to preach that's what I'm ready for yes I am yes I am and this is gonna be good so I hope you're ready I'm Peter togs I may be a little tired because I didn't get a lot of sleep last night but churches should be more fun on those days isn't it what's the most bit of tears you've ever prayed the most bit of tears you've ever cried how many people here there's tears in your eyes today some during the worship you're moved to tears by the presence of God others in the presence of God you were moved to tears by whatever is going on in your world tears have power and Jesus tears are never wasted John 11 verse 35 is the shortest verse they say in the Bible but it's one of the most powerful and simply says this Jesus wept no tear that Jesus wept has ever been wasted and when we allowed Jesus to really be lord over our tears you're crying your pain your tears whether they're real tears or whether they're perceived tears they're never wasted in my life of tried a lot of tears I mean there was a time when I was the church drummer at about 17 my drumming career came to an end when the music director who was the keyboard player then the organist suddenly got up off the organ walked over to me snatched both my sticks during the worship during one of the songs put them on the piano store and sat on them and literally and I said there are tears not knowing what to do but my dad was the pastor so he was a big trouble I still never played the drums again and then there was the time that I kotor cried over a pretty girl her name was Bobby McDonald and I never forget the first time I laid eyes on her I said a summer convention in New Zealand and a town called Tirana and I looked around and in a group right behind us outside the venue I saw the most beautiful beautiful girl I wasn't a sight I was used to seen in New Zealand just kidding just kidding yeah come on now where's your sense of humor maybe I saw well maybe not no one as beautiful as her afternoon I went to the beach pepper mower beach was the famous spot where over the group of friends went to the beach and she was there with a group of friends as well and we connected and we have 400 miles 600 kilometers apart I lived in Wellington she lived in Auckland and then I got this phone call I just finished Bible College from a pastor in South Auckland he asked if I'd come and be his youth pastor and so what I did is I know Google in those days I got out the map well they call it reffered X or whatever got out the map and worked it out that it was only maybe three miles five kilometres nowadays from where I was gonna be youth pastor where she lived it's amazing how quickly God spoke to me so this is the will of God it was amazing how quick I heard God's voice and say sure enough I moved to South Auckland and even then it still talked about three hours for three years sorry for three years she was only 16 when I met her I was 19 even they're talking about three years till I finally got my act together and we were dating when there was a dreaded day when she had been at a youth camp she went to the big church in the Auckland Town Hall I went to a little suburban Church in South Auckland and she had gone to their youth camp and the pastor of the church had a word from God for her God then I was second best I still wondered at this time who was first best of a second best then it gets worse the youth pastor backs it up and says I just see a big red stop sign and so she came around to the house where I was living with nine single guys the stench of socks was unbelievable nine guys and I saw her coming I knew something was wrong and sure enough she dumped me she told me what had happened at this camp and there are the second best and that the other pastor had seen two stops on so she dumped me well I was arrogant on the outside I said you're gonna regret this but on the inside I was crying and then there was a day during those next few months where my tears became even more bitter there was a real cool guy who was supposed to me one of my best friends he was a surfer looking god belong here and he had a really cool Fiat car one day I'm sitting in a bus I'm away home from work yes yes I started catching buses to work and I looked up from the bus and I see Steve's car go by the cool guy and guess who's in the car with him so she went three months until she decided she couldn't live without me 41 years later I don't know who first best was but he must have been some awesome guy all I'd say to the pastor who said second best where are you now [Applause] you got to have some fun I'll tell you this though not all tears are funny other tears represent a lot of things said some pain sorrow and grief many times there may not be tears rolling down your cheeks but they're representative of what's going on in your heart and I love the fact that your tears have power I love the fact though in Jesus wept that he only didn't weep this once but when Jesus wept no tear was wasted and I'll say it again and him I don't believe any tear is ever wasted your tears my friend no matter where you're watching no matter what room of a house is sitting in right now your tears are never wasted even crying over Lazarus he knew Lazarus was going to die and in fact he delayed his coming so he would know that Lazarus was dead and then ultimately he knew before he was going to raise him from the dead he was about to pray God I know you hear me I know you always hear me but I'm just saying it for the people I think he was crying for the people because he walked into a scene which was resultant from the sin nature scene of hopelessness of seeing a negativity a scene of anger Mary confronted him and said of you if you were here this wouldn't happen she started the blame game and so this was the scene that he walks into just I don't believe her unbelief and I think he was crying the impact of sin on humanity not just the happ's for then but for all humanity and when Jesus wept though he knew something powerful was about to happen Jesus he cried there the scene of the death of one but he also cried over his people and the Old Testament God cried over the the Jews and over Jerusalem and at Gethsemane Jesus cried over all humanity and his tears always had pallor and fed the last thing Jesus dead and his human fall was to cry it's in Matthew 27 verse 46 here he is on the cross and suddenly lets out a cry a cry of anguish verse 46 says Eli Eli lama sabachthani which is translated my God my God why have you forsaken me he cried and just that very last verse before he yielded up a spirit verse 15 the scripture said Jesus let out another cry hey he healed up his spirit what happened then what happened when Jesus cried with Jesus cried tears of anguish what happened I'll tell you what happened the Bible says that there was a curtain a curtain that was rent from top to bottom the curtain has separated you from the presence of Jesus the presence of God not only that the earth began to quake this was earth-shaking and the rocks began to split and perhaps most powerful are all the Bible talks about the graves of saints opening and the Saints being resurrected in other words his tears had resurrection power and today still in the hands of Jesus tears have resurrection power your tears have resurrection power in the same portion of scripture Matthew 27 that outlines the scene around Jesus crucifixion Judas also cried tears of remorse he woke up the day after he betrayed Jesus and all of a sudden he started realizing that he trade what he described as innocent blood so he tried to take back the 30 shekels of silver the price of betrayal he tried to give her back but the chief priests and the elders hello what is that to us they refused it but what did Judas do we threw it down on the table and he went and he fled he literally hung himself the certainty is that only had the power of death self-pity those tears they don't lead anywhere though they've only got the power of death the conniving tears of manipulation they only had the power of death the bitter tears of offense carrying an offense they only had the power of death ultimately he left the 30 shekels of silver on the table and they didn't put them in the Treasury because they were tainted no they bought a cemetery in other words tears of remorse tears outside of the presence and power of God so often they only have the power of death but Jesus will take your tears he'll take your pain he'll take you cry whatever form it takes right now and he will turn it into power do you know in the hands of Jesus the power of Tears is in seed sowing you want to see seeds become power or tears become power you sow them that's what the Word of God says and if you sow an apple seed you're not gonna get an orange tree and so you don't sow seeds without expecting to see the same thing but it's same same different because all of a sudden those tears of sorrow become tears of joy and the Scriptures sound 126 and it's powerful and whatever translation you read it and I want you to listen to it verses 1 to 6 it's talking about it's talking about when what was tears in captivity for Israel for God's people became joy and then here they are again in Babylon and Kat tivity and they're believing for the tears to be reaping joy and it says in verse 1 when the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion we were like those who dream then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue was singing that's why I love to see some laughter in church and a tongue worth singing then they said among the Laois among the nation's the Lord has done great things for them the Lord has done great things for us and we are glad bring back our captivity O Lord as the streams in the south remember that as streams in the desert those who sow in tears shall reap and joy he who continually goes forth weeping but not just weeping and doing nothing not just weeping and wallowing in self-pity weeping but still bearing seed for sowing the pail is not just in the weeping it's what you do in the season of weeping let's keep on sewing keep sowing into the house of God keep sowing into the purpose of God in your life keep sowing and to other people keep sowing in seasons of weeping and then the Bible uses a strong word an unequivocal word doubtless doubtless it says you'll come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him the power of sow and tears as they become tears of joy a man mouth filled with laughter a tongue filled with singing that's what I believe God can do with your tears you see tears they fall down words and so they fall down obviously to the ground but unless a seed falls to the ground the Bible says it abides alone it has no power but of a seed falls to the ground and dies the Bible says it's a bear much fruit I believe God can bring fruit with you you can see it right now God can bring fruit from your season of sorrow and you know someone sent me an article between services showing me how in a medical article that under a microscope tears tears of sorrow have a totally different microscopic microscopic look than tears the joy a totally different image I love that that God can take what maybe is natural and then he puts his design to it and turns sadness into joy I love the fact that toy cheers tears that are sown in pain can bring a harvest of joy but listen to these verses did I finish reading it he who can till he goes forth weeping bearing seeds for sowing shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with them my wife's favorite of the moment translation of the Bible is the passion and listen to these verses they're a great verse 5 and 6 those who sow their tears of seeds will reap a harvest with joyful shouts of Glee they may weep as they go out carrying this seed to sow but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads a blessing and a harvest overflowing oh that's what I believe they listened with people through their own blood sweat and tears have sown here at Hillsong into a heart for the house giving and offering I'm believing that for you are loads of blessing and that good in a harvest of overflowing are loads of blessing and a harvest of overflowing that's what God happens when tears become seed sowing that's what God can do in his hand tears have the power to transform it says in those verses there it says that our tears that become joy they become like streams in the desert in other words they can take what is dry and harsh and lifeless and bring living water that's what God does with your tears he brings life to dry things where there seems to be no hope where there seems to be no whew there's a Hebrew word there in those verses in the context of reaping and sowing and the word of shove off sha VOT but the power is that literally means to restore our fortunes they were talking about how in the past and captivity God had restored their fortunes and taken their tears of sadness and put singing and laughter on their lips and now they're looking forward again and they're believing for God to do the same thing again they're believing for a restoration of fortunes when you sow your tears I believe literally you can sow into ground that God turns into fruit and you can see a restoration or restoring of your fortunes what would that look like in your life if God restored not just your fortunes I'm not talking money necessarily but your fortunes in other words past blessing all of a sudden God gives you twice as much do you know that same Hebrew word is used in job 42 in verse 10 where it talks about the restoration God brought to job and look at it the Lord restored siobhan job's losses when he prayed for his friends indeed the Lord gave job twice as much as he had before Oh restored fortune let me speak it over you restored fortune I always go up the soil I'm gonna go to the other high hell over here restored fortune there's more life in this Isle anywhere Laura starred Fortune David manner yes restored fortune look at that that's one cool cap there you weren't sideways I say it's one of our party tricks it's what you do when you get desperate you know oh he's standing up there you guys sir probably full well I'm Craig little creaky uh it's powerful though isn't it you know tears are necessary they're actually next necessary psychologists will teach about how that sometimes of the tears of grief and sorrow and sadness that are necessary to eventual closure so don't ever underestimate the power of your tears I've already quoted it but I read John 12:24 most assuredly I say to you unless unless in other words it's necessary unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies it remains alone but effort dies it produces much grain it produces much fruit your tears have power when you sow them exceeds they have power they really do and your tears may be a season is there may be a long season they talked about those who are continually weeping and says but they're not just weeping they're bearing seed for sowing but continually means this wasn't just a short season but if you understand that tears are seasonal and you sow in a season and you reap in a different season but if you have believed that god never wastes tears when you surrender them to him then you're going to believe that there's a season coming of joy there's a season coming of laughter there's a season coming of Tears that have a total different microscopic makeup it's an awesome what's that little laugh come from uh-huh I've just developed that more recent times my wife always tells me there I laugh just go ha ha ha but it's become ha ha ha well what is that hey I'll tell you ins tears have power when the tears of compassion you know something Jesus never ever was moved with sympathy and the Bible doesn't ever even say Jesus was moved with empathy but he was moved with compassion sympathy doesn't have a lot of power and just feels sorry for you and so we send 7000 it's kind and it's good but they don't have transformative power and now it's just I'm sorry and empathy has some power because it's understanding everyone needs to be understood I hate that feeling of being misunderstood but you see when empathy is just like oh yes I understand I've been there as well and yeah I got hurt by that same person or yes it becomes misery and you wallow in it together there's no paladin but Jesus never moved by sympathy never moved by empathy but I'll tell you right now when he was moved with compassion and became powerful your tears and his compassion are a combustible force believe me there are combustible for a combustible force did they have power together and that's the great thing about compassion compassion I've got to tell you it's one of God's great qualities at anytime in the Bible Jesus was moved with compassion something was about to happen believe me there was the tears of the widow of nain that the scripture teaches about in the Gospels she was crying because her son was dead her only son was dead and Jesus he asked why are you weeping he was moved with compassion and it was the movie with compassion that meant he raised the son from the dead that's the power of tears so and when they mixed with his compassion it brings dead things to life bring streams to the desert in Jesus name it's beautiful it's powerful there was a man who had a son described as having a mute spirit he was overcome by demonic force that literally caused him to throw himself into the fire well throw himself into water he would convulse and froth at the mouth and go rigid like he was dead the Bible describes all those things the man came to Jesus and he was desperate and he said if I could ask anything have compassion he didn't say if I can ask anything cast the demons out because he understood the power that was in compassion and when the Lord saw this boy he broke the power demon spirits and I believe that Jesus compassion has power over the demonic to this day compassion turn your tears into compassion and believe for your tears you cry to be met with his compassion because when Jesus was teaching a multitude and he realized they'd gone three days without anything to eat the Bible says he was moved with compassion and you know what's about to happen he takes a few loaves and a few fish one little boy's lunch and he feeds thousands of people with it and it was compassion that sparked the miracle he did those things for one person there was a leper jesus saw this leper that came to him and the Bible says Jesus was moved with compassion and he cleansed him literally he healed him the the leprosy was gone he did it for one he did it for - there were two blind men that came to Jesus and the Bible says Jesus was moved with compassion do I need to tell you anymore you know what's gonna happen to blind man see because of the power of compassion they're tears in the hands of Christ compassion he did it for many the Bible said he had compassion for the multitude and He healed this sake in other words there's a mass healing crusade because Jesus was moved with compassion when tears a seed so and they have power when tears are tears of compassion and I believe we should live our lives with compassion because in the hands of Jesus that compassion has the same power to bless other people just like the Good Samaritan so different than the religious people they had compassion and in his hands the tears of a man beaten had power in God's hands other leaves your tears have power also when tears become intersession they have power tears that become intersection and intersession have power they do you know what intercession is well you know it's a it's a really amazing amazing thing you look at the Hebrew word for intercession and what it describes is literally a falling upon it's it's a striking it actually literally is almost like a violent act not physical violence banging holes in the wall but like storming heaven with Wyatt so it's been violent and your prayer a sail in heaven a sailing God coming against demonic forces that's what I think the Bible says Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force when I think of intercession I often think of that verse not sure different people have different translations to what Heaven suffers violence is talking about but when I think intercession I think about violently assailing the heavenlies and believing God to do something there's the idea of prevailing and the word is similar to what you would use for a woman giving birth in other words it says there's an action to it and there's maybe there's pain in it even that's what intercession looks like it's like the tears that Jesus wept and Gethsemane it's the same picture of travailing a saline heaven believing God I can think of a couple of occasions when I was just a teenager where I believe God gave me you know gave me the spirit of intercession the one time oh she hung maybe thirteen and with a whole lot of friends we had a Brady idea and brilliant idea of sliding tobogganing down a hill a mountain on a piece of roofing on corrugated iron and it was all good just hold the sides up and down we were going bang bang bang bang over the Sheep trails all was good until it dug straight into the ground and the iron stopped and I kept going and ended up with a broken ankle so my parents sent me home that night brand-new broken ankle where the cast on my leg and they kept on running the camp that we were all at I was by myself at home I don't know what they were thinking listen listen this is what happened that a lot of my friends at the time are doing bad spiritually that rebellious and they weren't going to the services at the camp and and we're all at a Christian camp you see in and so I had this intercession come upon me in my bed at night and at that moment I wasn't thinking of my own pain I was thinking about my friends hello are away from God and you know I find out afterwards that that very night not only do they go to the service but afterwards they came to the front of a church service they all gave their lives to Christ and many of them are still serving God to this day and I had that sense of a saline heaven that that sense of small in a pond that's a lot most of violence in the spiritual realm same thing happened when my sister's boyfriend at the time again we were just teenagers my sister's boyfriend had a horrible car accident he got hit sight on our high-speed by a truck and the car was unrecognizable it would be impossible to believe anyone could have survived that wreck and he wasn't supposed to survive he was in a coma in the hospital and and the outlook was bleak and the same thing I felt this this spirit of intercession come upon me and I went up into the hills and the mountains at the same campsite and I was up there just crying out to God l'ainte hold of God here you know I find out after about that time there not only they wake up from his coma his rugby coach was there visiting him and he says sorry coach I don't think I'm gonna make it to training tonight and he was healed don't ever underestimate when tears become intercession just what God can do when tears become intercession something powerful is about to happen Jesus he intercedes for you and I the Bible describes him at the right hand of the Father praying for you interceding for you and the Holy Spirit the book of Romans teaches us he intercedes on our behalf and he intercedes through us on behalf of others Oh tears have power when they become see tears of power when they're tears of compassion tears have power when their tears of intercession tears have power within the tears of the broken some people are broken by sin some people are broken by life Jesus was wounded in Isaiah 53 look at it Isaiah 53 verse 5 he was wounded for our transgressions he was crushed the word broken is there for our wickedness a sinner injustice our wrongdoing do you know something wounds are something that come from the outside and in life there are things that wound us brokenness is something that happens on the inside on that cross Jesus he was mortally wounded but he was also uh turley broken in other words that was on the outside and on the inside which means the victory is not just for us and the wounds that come from the outside but in the brokenness that takes place on the inside David because of his sin David because of his own sin he was broken different than remorseful Jairus was remorseful those tears had no power but David was broken he said to the Lord these kind of words he says I know you don't want sacrifice I know you don't want burnt offerings he says so the only sacrifice I can give you is a broken and a contrite spirit Psalm 51 verse 16 you do not delight in sacrifice or I would bring it if that's what you wanted I'd bring it you don't take pleasure in burnt offerings else I would give them no my sacrifice O God is a broken spirit a broken and a contrite heart you God will not despite your brokenness does not repel God your brokenness attracts God and they're beautiful it doesn't repel him it actually attracts him let's know the power of a broken and a contrite spirit tears become power when they are heaven directed heaven directed in other words tears to become prayers have power David you that David said these sorts of things he said in some three verse four I cried to the Lord with my voice I cried had he heard me we're right out of heaven from his holy hill if you direct your tears heavenward tears don't fall up with snow they tear drops they fall into the ground but unless they do that they abide alone but when they drop and you trust God with your tears what's happening oh that you look to him you pray in your heaven focused then as it is in heaven so it is in you as it is in heaven so it is in me I love that thought David also prayed some 61 he talked a lot about is crying in verse to hear my cry O God attend to my prayer he was talking about a cry that is actually prayer and he says from the ends of the earth I will cry to you when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I when my heart is overwhelmed he says good you hear my cry when I'm overwhelmed you hear my prayer you know the Bible paints such beautiful beautiful pictures about tears I mentioned the passion translation listen to this verse this is my favor and a whole message listen to this oh there it is again some 38 verse nine listen to it oh this is powerful what a metaphor Lord you know all my desires and deepest longings my tears are liquid words and you can read them all my tears are liquid words hey those tears are not wasted my friend Jesus never waste tears you cry right now your tears whatever your sadness your sorrow your anguish those tears for your son those tears oh yeah unsaved spouse your tears over the situation around and about you your tears about somebody you love liquid words keep keep praying those tears because they can speak things we simply cannot after that's the power of tears when their heaven directed they become liquid words and there's other powerful pictures David talks about God and what he does with your tears and again it is so powerful in some 56 verse 8 David said you number my wanderings listen put my tears into your bottle are they not in your book he bottles your tears what a concept is that my grandmother Nana she's the bottle apricots and nectarines and peaches and plums in other words she would put them in a bottle to preserve them to keep them when I think of God bottling your tears it's a much more powerful than when we bottle things up inside ourselves you can bottle them up in there but there's no power but if you pray liquid words to God you can see that picture of him bottling your tears you see when I was a kid I had a ginger beer plant and my ginger beer was in a bottle I don't know whether you never see one that it's like this weird looking plant thing and some sediment and looks like dirty water but there's little explosions going on in there all the time and over a period of time it's fir maintained it's fermenting don't get distracted this points to it's fermenting and spoil is becoming ginger beer when I think of God bottling your tears I think of my bottle ginger beer plant because it's for mint in your tears they're not wasted their fur maintained in other words God's about to do something with them they are fermenting at this very moment bottle tears have power in those days Bible times you only bottled valuable things commodities that were considered valuable were milk and water and wine and they were kept in bottles and that's how God sees your tears they're valuable liquid words they're preying on your behalf liquid words and then not only doesn't say he bought your tears but it says are they not written in your book again he's journaling your tears he's channeling with your tears you generally think about it and thinking about it you cry and you don't see the ends of the tears just falling to the ground they seem to just be dead but unless they do that they abide alone no no what they're doing is they're fermenting God's preserving them he's keeping them he's gonna make something with them and so he's writing them in his journal some people say that the translation for that word are they not in his book his a ledger in other words in a count's book you put valuable things in a count box things of value go in there that's how God sees your tears my friend he sees them as valuable your tears are valuable don't don't ever just bottle them up realize I'm not gonna allow these to be tears of death just remorse or self-pity or manipulation or any other thing like that offense I'm gonna believe that they're gonna be heaven directed liquid words when I thought I don't know what to say my deepest longings her my tears though that their prey they're praying to God a mother half then they're beautiful because the day is coming where there'll be no more tears as what revelation 21 verse 4 says that they don't wipe away all the tears from your eyes he will wipe every tear from their eyes still be no more death or mourning or crying or pain no more crying no more pain those days are coming but until then the promises also there that even if you're in a season of weeping the Bible says weeping may last for a night time but you know what's coming you know what's coming joy comes in the morning look at that we've you may endure for it may seem right now like a very long night just keep sowing keep sowing keep bearing seed to sow in other words keep living keep putting into the things of God keep living your life deciding that you are gonna see these seeds that were tears of sorrow become seed or other fruit that is joy and laughter let's believe God for that together amen if you believe it say Amen maybe pray for you across the whole church let me pray for you what do you tears represent right now what is your inner cry what does the Sun mean when you're alone you crying tears that no one else sees liquid words prayers to God he preserves them it keeps the me bottles them they're fermenting definently God's gonna turn them into joy God's gonna restore your fortunes God is gonna bring a new day a better day he's gonna bring laughter and singing he's gonna turn them into joy Lord we believe it now in Jesus name hello wherever people are part of the service whatever location they're in Lord you know their cry and their tears hello I love the way you turn pain into power you turn loss into power you take our weakness you turn it into power you take hunger you turn into power and you take our tears and you turn it into power lord help us to see the power that is in our tears I ask it now in Jesus name in the name of Jesus can you say Amen Church come on right across the church let's stand let's worship Jesus for just a moment [Music] [Music] come on you can sing much better than that lift your voice let's sing it together stay with us just these last few moments [Music] what [Music] [Applause] [Music] to the heart of God your heart [Music] let me ask everybody a question and ask you the same question I love to ask every time we have a service have you personally made a conscious choice for Jesus have you ever encountered God in a personal way is he he loves you he's for you he's on your side and to think that God loves us so intimately that he bottled your tears I don't know what's got you in church today but I don't believe it's a coincidence I'm gonna believe her a whole lot of people near to make a choice for Jesus they're conscious decision to serve Him Obama says if you ask him to come into art into your life he will come in her Bible says if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart the Lord Jesus Christ that you will be saved God wants to bring salvation to your life who are they bring deliverance to your life he wants to take maybe the pain whatever it is of tears of sorrow and turn them into tears of joy how beautiful is that in just a moment I'm going to lead everyone in a prayer a prayer inviting Jesus to come into your life and like I already said the Bible says if you do that God is gonna come he's faithful to his word he's gonna live in you and abide in you suddenly God becomes the source of your life and your choices and your decisions and your whole life changes maybe at some point you pray to prayer like that but somewhere along the way you lost your way and as not as though God moved he said I'll never leave you nor forsake you now he doesn't move but our choices can have us living dislocated alienated from him nowhere have I ever seen where the Bible says he unsaved anybody but we live and we make choices and we choose whether we're still living out of our relationship with Jesus what a perfect day to make your peace with him I'm gonna pray a prayer with the whole church family and before I pray I'm gonna count to three and I'm gonna ask every single person in the room who says Brian please include me in that prayer on three I'm gonna ask you to raise your hand in the air and again no matter we're in Australia you are no matter whether you're watching online or whether you're in Bali and Indonesia right now I'm gonna believe for many hands to be raised so he said Brian we have everyone closed for a minute just just for a moment it's all being bring you say Brian please when you pray for people to make that conscious choice for Jesus will you pray for me on three you lift your hand there's gonna be many hands you won't be the only one if you say Brian when you pray for people to encounter God in a personal way to have that kind of encounter where you know that you know that Jesus came into your life Brian when you pray that prayer please would you include me then on three you lift your hand if you pray God but it saved me will you give me an you start then on three you lift your hands I believe God's gonna be faithful in your life there bro man you pray for people to turn from their backsliding to get right with God would you include me in that prayer on three you raise your hand if you say bro man you pray for people to come back to living with Jesus at the center which include me in that prayer then on three lift your hand here we come really raise your hand a girl is gonna be many hands up and down the country and all around and in this room right here on three so Brian include me in that prayer you raise your hand on three one two three lift them up right now let them high lift them high thank God for I love seeing people respond around this room and I believe right across the church people responding anyone else quickly you raise your hand to join those whose hands are raised and why don't we all give those people in advance a big a big congratulations a big congratulations [Applause] and together out loud the whole church family everywhere you pray this prayer dear Jesus this is the moment I surrender ownership of my life to the Lord Jesus Christ because of you Jesus from this moment I'm a child of God a new creation a follower of Jesus Christ thank you for your love and grace thank you for your forgiveness and mercy I am a believer jesus is alive in me amen amen good at one more big huge congratulations now well everywhere people raise their hands look up Bibles to give you as a gift a gift from Hillsong Church some I may have seen you lift your hand here in the service and the past your Bible or everywhere where people are gathered in the foyer there's people there with Bibles and they'll hold up those Bibles you're willing to go to them and say hey I prayed that prayer a prayer of new beginnings and salvation and I'll give you a Bible as a free gift and we want to sew this into your life because I believe from now on this book can frame your life and what a transformation of brigs we're in the Word of God frames our life so if you believe it say Amen liquid words I still think that's awesome I can't get over my prayers my tears rather ah liquid words your tears liquid words real men don't cry yes they do it takes a real man to cry takes a real man to cry I noticed what ten men in the choir this morning here at Hills takes a real man to sing in the choir we got to be a real man to sing in the choir and real men know how to cry and you know what even if you don't cry on the outside 70 men have broken on the inside liquid tears God bottled some journals them farther than we thank you in your name you bless your people and you keep them in your course your face to shine upon them you know God of mercy the god of grace we can look to you Lord even when I cry as liquid-liquid words you turning our tears into power lord I just thank you in Jesus name that no tear is ever wasted when we cooperate with the Holy Spirit let me trust you father we thank you for it in your precious name and a man and then he be blessed Ravi
