HELLDIVERS 2 - Let's Help The New Players

we are going to be having a chat today about the things we can do to help new players I just want you to be keenly aware this is not something for the faint-hearted or short of patience you have to feel a genuine desire to improve and Advance our community if you undergo this task before we do that I would like to give you some insight on what this means to me and particularly why I find this to be an issue of great pertinence as you may feel the same a few days ago I started joining in on level one players to protect them and to make sure they had a good time on their first mission for the first time in quite some time I actually felt satisfied with something I had done I feel like by not bringing this possibility to light I may be doing somebody a disservice in case they are to attain such fulfillment as I did an assortment of kind open-minded individuals taught me a great deal about gratitude patience and understanding and it wasn't even their intention it was purely by circumstance maybe you don't feel the same maybe you will never feel the same but I have found genuine fulfillment in helping new players and giving them a positive introduction to associate with this game and our community in return they have helped me by providing an opportunity to learn about the value and impact of an interaction with a benevolent stranger it feels incredibly outlandish to think about when I take myself away from all of this but half an hour spent assisting a person who you will likely never speak to again can result in you growing as a human being sharing tea with a fascinating stranger is one of life's true Delight it certainly doesn't hurt that you will be well compensated for your efforts should you complete all the points of interest on the map the first day I decided to do this I was at zero credits I was able to go so far as to buy the premium war bond the next morning if you have never tried this before I don't want to put you off to the experience but there's some very important things you need to remember the the biggest one of all is your setting out to join a newcomer it is your job to show them the good in this community whatever you do there reflects back onto all of us as a whole we are all in this together some people are needlessly wound up and hostile when playing you need to make sure you maintain your composure you need to be the best representative of democracy you can be to recruit More Hell divers to the cause another benefit doesn't simply apply directly to you but it applies to us as a whole when somebody has a memorable good time they will not only try to adopt that behavior but they will tell their friends as well then those friends download the game behave similarly and proceed to expand that wave outwards not only will that Garner us a massive network of positive players that want to help others which is good for everybody it will also allow for the game to get better funded leading to more content and even faster fixes for any of the hiccups try your best to be kind and encouraging because not only will that result in them having a good time it will lead to them doing exactly that with others in the future don't try to force them into One Singular way of play this game does not have one solution as I have mentioned prior there are many ways to play give them General simple advice that the tutorial wouldn't cover explain to them the little things like points of interest medals super credits requisition slips Etc maybe explain side objectives weak spots really anything that wouldn't be a tital wave of information because you don't want to overwhelm them if you're in a position to be better equipped which you likely will be do them a favor go ahead and bring some toys into the game it's gr difficulty you don't need anything special I'd recommend all blue strategems get the little guys a backpack and a proper support weapon and if you want to go the extra mile bring him a juice box while you're at it let them do the work you already know what you're doing they need learning on opportunity some stuff you can't teach them they got to figure that out on their own but treat them like an endangered species you only have to step in when they're about to die remember that we are all equals here regardless of name or rank so make sure it stays a conversation and not a lecture don't get upset if they don't follow every direction they literally know nothing so far there will absolutely be compli that is to be entirely expected you're pretty much running the world's most dangerous daycare for the duration of the mission there's probably going to be a touch of friendly fire if they accidentally strafe you I know it sucks but tell them it's not a big deal and get over it if you accidentally kill them apologize you don't want them thinking it was on purpose don't get upset if they don't use a mic I know it's not ideal but some people don't have the facilities or get intimidated bear in mind they can likely still hear you even if they don't speak back so maintain your respectful nature hell diving can be very overwhelming at times especially to the unfamiliar cut them some slack you will have to employ a great deal of both understanding and empathy in these Ventures some people are also just not plain outgoing much like a machine gunner this is going to be a very accuracy by volume sort of task we're going to be kind and courteous to so many damn people eventually one of them is going to smile back and that's who we're all doing this for some friendly advice on joining these try to pick one Lonesome individual under level five that's just just hanging out if you join a match and there's some horrible loud feedback or background noise it's okay you've got my blessing you can leave that one think of yourself like a bodyguard not a cab driver you're there to keep them alive not run away and demand they follow you if you want them to go somewhere don't just tell them to do it ask them and explain why we are doing this because they will likely have no idea when you geared up and jumped into their mission you became a teacher not a dictator bear in mind all some people want to do is their own thing sometimes you might get kicked or people won't listen but you don't do it for them you do it for the people who want that experience and trust me they are out there and they appreciate it this this does not mean be a dick to the people who don't really care it means finish the mission brush it off and move on to the next one it's worth reiterating that it's up to each and every single one of us to uphold an environment new players want to be a part of we are all the standard bearers of this community I know we've likely all had at least one I I know you guys have probably had a lot more bad interaction with some worthless [ __ ] who's running around just to make people have a bad time hell just yesterday I spent about 5 minutes slugging a level 30 into the dirt because he was screaming and team kill the level two who couldn't fight back it's our job to fulfill the hope that there are better people than that guy in this community be the positive change you want to see not only impacting the gaming Realm but our communities out in the real world as well I believe you have that in you this is not something for the faint of heart but if it feels like something you would be into don't hesitate to get out there also I apologize for getting a bit sentimental here but I'd like to take this moment to acknowledge the incredible support from all of you I would have never thought this possible for those of you most of you that are are new the amount of subscribers I had at the time of recording this was tripled from where it was a week ago I don't really know how to express my gratitude I'm not great at saying thanks but I'm just kind of blown over by the thought that you guys think I've got interesting things to say I could not have asked for a better Community to find myself in I I just wanted to dedicate this little ending of the video to all you guys and the hope of a fruitful future to all of us let's hope I don't drop the ball on this I'm sure none of you want to see my apology video I'm shoehorning this statement in somewhere throughout the video uh if you're ever wondering why I haven't seemed to comment or react to a question or something you've asked I look at my channel comments and mentions Tab and I use the I haven't responded filter but I've noticed sometimes things slip through the cracks so if that's you uh I apologize sincerely hopefully I find it Well I think that's more than enough of a heart tohe heart for everyone's sake cuz that was butchered also if you're inclined to
