Gino on His Son Dating Gordon Ramsay's Daughter Tilly | This Morning

now who would have thought that we'd ever say this Gino D'Acampo has become an author yes he has put two pen to paper and we're not just talking about cookbooks do you know is here now to tell us some more yes nice to see you and here it is we scaler get cooking with whisk Ella let's make pancakes oh I mean how'd you go from cookbooks and you being Gino to making a children's book is something that I've always wanted to have been working on on this project for about three years now yeah inspired by my little girl Mia yeah she loves to cook and she always she always makes up stories in her mind why she shoulda cooked something so I think one evening I was hooked to our own you know what I I really like his idea because for me as a cook is it's all about encouraging anyone to cook so if I can encourage a child to do that from a very early age that means to do also lovely sand and I used to love reading to the girls it was just fabulous but once you read it well hopefully they're about to go to sleep but but with this you can you've got you read the book and there's more to do after because you can actually make what you're talking about see this is why you're the king of television I always say I over and I will never stop saying that because that is exactly the experience that I had it so you read a book finish the book and and this is over it when you wherever grandchildren are the experience is over what I wanted to achieve is for the child or the parents or the grandparents wherever they are to say oh look there is a recipe she's actually cooking a recipe which I showed step-by-step how we skele does it so you ever an extra experience an extra thing to do with your kids and you know true is Carla she has her friends with Carla is Tongo and pan-pan and they search in ingredients and they start to cook forget it hard to adapt your writing style or in fact you to write it for children I you know I'm gonna be honest with you extremely honest is I found it really hard and that required a lot of red wine did yes I'm gonna I'm not gonna lie to you nose you know trying to our age to put your brain sets three four years old you know little girl is impossible because we would write in a different way we would tell the story in a different way so is every evening you know author wine open you know you go rolled because I sketch sketch we scale and all the characters I sketched it very badly with a pencil and then I gave it to my cousin and then she did all day with scaler says I love you a little bit as well because you see I mean you seemed extraordinarily busy I mean you're here there and everywhere and whenever I see you've just come back from Italy or wherever you've been to America with the boys yes we've been to America to film Gordon Regina and Fred yeah the American road trip oh it's what I saw you when you looked exhausted I was exhausted we did the months filming non-stop and from one place to another I we did a medical over and it was it was good it was a you know Harlan old fool on yes I would I would honor what an experience I never been to America filming in that way so that's great well I I have spent an evening with you and lovely Jess and we've talked to all about that none of which I will say now apart from the fact that it sounds like a hell of an experience he was I mean you saw the pictures and the beaches that are sure you clearly we won't be able to show them here yeah never but but then of course you know it must have been great because you've come back looking like this yes I know this is what I looked most of the filming time because I want to grow my hair and it was very hot there so the only solution that I had is is someone solder some of these bandanas also you know I'm gonna put that so sometime I can put in cold water I keep cold so this part of your new phase of life because you were talking about this I think Frederick's he has a podcast and you were talking about these three phases of your life and you're sort of coming out Serkis is the first phase was in Italy first phase was in Italy my first face was when I grew up you know when I decided I wanted to be a chef with my mom and dad then the second phase was when I moved to United Kingdom which was 27 years ago gasps by the way it's a long time she's a long time no that is because I deal with a lot of Italian people you know with my restaurant so he always goes and now I'm actually preparing myself for my third life and what happens in your third life or my third life what happens is ie will go back to Italy on the island of Sardinia and I will stay there and I will breathe hostess I want to breathe the hostess now do you know something about breathing I don't know anything about breathing houses but there is a specific course that I fell in love with is called a Frisian hosts the black is it the beautiful meeting so I went to see them in Hollands to these people who breathe hostess and I would be the first one in Italy to actually breathe that space of ocean and so so I'll have help I'm assuming sorry you'll have help well I'll ever help from the people who's gonna sell them to me but I want to do everything by myself so I'm actually at home and I'm sketching this table the way I want it to be done I bought some land next to my villa in Italy so then I can focus and do that so we're gonna lose you know you gonna then disappear off oh no no no is the other word I probably you would see me more because I will leave there but then come here every month for a couple of half-and-half yeah is easy nowadays to move from one place to another so uh so what is it that's cause this we were joking earlier on about a sort of midlife crisis and but but as far as you wanting to get into this you're still you know some pretty young but why get into you're 43 the third stage of your life at 43 surely that comes in your 60s know that in the 60 probably will be my fifth life oh I see there's more III do I cannot accept someone who is happy to have one life I cannot accept that you know because life I believe it should be lived to the maximum your you do whatever you want to do that's what my dad used to say to me don't worry dream on and just get on with it do whatever you want to do so I had a chance to have one life you guys gave me a chance you know when I came in here in Great Britain you gave me a second life for you except it's accepted me in your life why can I not have a third one why can I not have a fourth or a fifth life you do seem to make it happen though you're quite unique like that if you believe in it and and if you work at it I think everybody can have a second life or third life and you and obviously you and the boys Fred and Gordon have become very close you and Gordon have bonded especially you've got something new to bond over because where are you going with this well I'm talking about the the budding relationship between Luciano and Tilly I mean you can what yeah but a few years now I don't really I don't really want to say a lot because it's not it's none of my business no family you know what uh you know for me seventeen anyway now seventeen years a great pleasure that I have known that my son is dating Gordon's daughter just just to annoy him just to really annoy that is a pleasure Thank You Gino I'm gonna cook in a minute oh I'm going out are you running out for chefs what's up well they keep writing books can I come and get cooking with miss Geller let's make pancakes that's Sergey knows you knows book save money because he's got his cousin to do the illustrations and but he spent extra money cuz he's put glitter on the cover glitter that was expensive thing to do by the way you know putting glitter on on a book kind you
