Getting Water Behind Your Gutter? | Honey Do Men

[Applause] honey do men coming at you once again with another informative video of how people are doing it half way and not the honeydew way here we have a situation where the homeowner had a bunch of rotted fish it's often board's sorry look carpet did a good job Soph it's a great crown molding came out nice even when putting up the holes for the painter but the homeowners calling because there's water coming behind the gutter big misconception business is that usually water comes behind the gutter homeowners think it's related to the gutter nine times out of ten it's not whoa what do we got here a perfectly clean gutter and a clean downspout so it ain't the gutter so why then rip water coming behind the gutter which by the way is just going to write out all the work that the carpenter did all that beautiful work two three years from now it can all be redone because the main problem wasn't solves the problems the roof the water's not getting into the gutter the roofs job it gets the water to the gutter the gutters job carried it away and hopefully you can see some of this the water is going behind the gutter and it's coming out the other side thank you couple ways you can solve this we can either tear out the whole bottom row slate and by the way this problem is indicative of every roof whether it's slate tile or asphalt so we can either add another row of slate and extend it or cut a larger row or we can put in what's called short single flash and gutter apron and get this problem resolved for the homeowner so she's not stuck doing this again three years from now but that's the difference between solving the clients problem and really looking a little further beyond and giving the homeowner of solution to what caused her initial problem
