Atlantic Drain ~ Howto Install DRIP STRIP ~ directing water from shingles into the gutter

hello I'm Chris with Atlantic drain and gutter in this video we're going to show you how to install drip strip if you're seeing this occur on your roof line you need to install drip strip right now the water is going off the shingle and to the backside of the gutter between the gutter and the fascia board simply run water on your roof line or just take a look when it's raining if you seeing this happen all the water is just going right down to your foundation wall making for a wet wall and a wet basement what you're going to need to install the drip strip our roofing nails grab cutting shears and a hammer as well as drip drip drip strip has an L shape to it the drip strip goes underneath the shingle and extends down into or over the middle of the gutter water comes down off the roof line and is directed right into the gutter to install drip strip simply lift the shingles and place the drip strip underneath the shingles my keel and a helper you just slide it right down the roofline it might hit a shingle let's put your helpers for is to just lift that shingle that it might be bumping up against comes in ten foot sections once you have your trip strip in place you're going to need to hammer a roofing nail into the shingle and drip strip and secure it to the plywood underneath the shingles so what we do is we lift a corner of a shingle so that the nail is actually underneath of the top shingle so that once you hammer the nail into place it's not exposed to water and it's a good idea to put at least three nails into the drip strip and shingle well as a plywood to secure it into place be careful not to rip up your shingles as you're doing this you might need to make a few adjustments a we just make sure that it's actually pushing the water into the gutter once again three nails minimum one at each end one in the middle so that your drip strip will not come out from underneath the shingles here we've actually cut the drip strip just made tabs over top of the spikes and furrows as well as hidden hangars so that the drip strip will sit properly into the gutter and go up underneath of the shingles we have an overlap of drip strip this particular hidden hanger and we have cut tabs overtop of that hidden hanger but it just isn't quite sitting properly so we're making an adjustment do it right the first time watch all our how-to videos right here on Atlantic drain and thank you for watching
