2 Most Common Types of Drip Edge

howdy folks it's dylan grenade here with bison roofing and today i'll be talking about drip edge so i have two types you've got d-type and c-type drip edge now both of these are cut down to sample sizes because they both come in about 10 foot sections i wouldn't really be able to hold both of them right here but as far as this like i said they are sample sizes but i'll show you kind of the side profile and what really makes a difference between these two your c-type is your more economical version but they both come in the same type of metal options which is galvanized steel or aluminum now galvanized steel is stronger and more durable but the aluminum holds up better as far as against rust they do come in or these will and both of them will come in galvanized steel colors so it's just a strictly just metal color it has a bit of a metallic flake on it which is not painted or you can also get it to match your roof shingles as well in any painted color that will match your shingles as far as that the drip bed's job is to protect kind of the end caps of your roof to make sure that water doesn't go up underneath the shingles and rotten the wood towards the edge it also helps keep water off of your fascia which the dl does a lot better job because it comes out a lot more this is just a straight 90 degree the water will come down and roll down there on the dl it will come out and have more of a lip to drip off of now obviously you won't keep any of the water that comes from the sides to hit your fascia the best way to protect your fascia is either a really good paint or gutters as well on your fascia but as far as this if you guys have any questions about drip edge or anything about the roof feel free to give us a call my name is dylan grenade with bison roofing and have a wonderful day
