good morning church it's so good to be with you i'm excited to be with you right now and i was just trusting the lord for an incredible miracle in this time yes you heard me right a miracle i'm i'm so excited because i've been given the opportunity by my senior pastors apostle peter and pastor tammy to share the word of god with you and and i know that god is going to do something powerful in your life this day possibly also send their greetings and their love to you but before we get into the word i just want to thank you every single one of you for your faithful giving you know we are planting two campuses right now cape town and springs and i want to encourage you to sow into this ministry this is good ground it is fertile ground and god has given us an incredible vision to plant campuses all around this country and you can partner with us by sowing a financial seed into this ministry and the lord really really is going to work through the ministry of acts christian church so i just want to bless your giving right now father i thank you i bless you for every seed song thank you lord for the tithes and the offerings that have brought lord god i ask you to bless every sower father show yourself up strong to every person who is struggling financially who's in a financial fight father give them a breakthrough of jehovah gyra proportions lord father we ask this in the precious name of your son jesus christ and everybody with faith says amen amen amen amen if you have your bibles with you i want to ask you for a few moments just return with me to the book of first samuel samuel chapter 17 and the title of my message today is get your fight back and the text that we're going to look at is the well familiar story of david and goliath and you know the story of david and goliath but today we want to talk about getting your fight back and using the authority that god has given you in your life now you may be thinking that get your fight back is an aggressive aggressive message for a sunday morning i want to tell you that the kingdom of god suffers violence and the violent take it by force i want to say to you that if you don't take it by force you won't get nothing at all so right now we want to get into a place where we are aggressive in this place many people in this season are going through a fight and and they have lost their internal fight inside of them they have lost their will to fight and today we're gonna ask the lord jesus to come in and restore their fight back because people have lost their fight they fight for their health their fight for their lives their fight for their marriages their fight for their children their fight for their jobs their fight for their businesses they fight for their peace and their fight for their joy but today in this hour we need christians who are going to rise up in the true believers of jesus who are going to stand and fight the good fight of faith and you may ask me what is the good fight of faith the good fight of faith is we win and that's the truth that i want you to get hold of today christians don't fight for victory we fight victoriously and i want to encourage somebody today who has lost their will to fight get your fight back in the name of jesus amen well the account of david and goliath should never ever be treated as a mere sunday school story i believe that it has an incredible outline for those of us who are looking for keys to get our fight back but it's amazing what you will overlook all your life in the word of god and then one day the holy spirit will just come and lift off something for you that you've never seen before and you get a new revelation into the word of god and that happened with me reading the story of david and goliath and god showed me something that i have never seen before and i want you to join me with as we read from verse verse 3 the bible says this the philistines stood on a mountain on one side and israel stood on the mountain on the other side with a valley between them you know this is how in those days they used to fight a battle one army would stand on the one mountain one army would stand on the other mountain and then they would send out a cry of the battle and they would rush down the sides of the mountain into the valley and they would start fighting and when the one who was the most powerful would overcome the others the battle would be won but this time it was different this time we have the two armies gathered as normal in battle array standing on either side and then a man albeit an enormous man a giant of a man a goliath of a man this man steps forward and he throws out a challenge to the army of israel look at verses number eight and number nine he says then he stood and cried out to the armies of israel and said to them why have you come out to line up for battle am i not a philistine and you the servants of saul here it comes choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me if he is able to fight somebody say fight if he is able to fight with me and kill me then we will be your servant but if i prevail against him and kill him then you shall be our servants and servants and i start to ask the lord lord why didn't anybody else want to fight goliath i mean these were battle hardened soldiers who had been to many wars why didn't someone want to stand up to this man why didn't king saul want to stand up to goliath the bible tells us that king saul stood head and shoulders above every other israelite why did david have to fight this was it because he was just there or was it because nobody else would was because goliath had defied his god was it because his brothers had upset him or was it because the god had told him to do so and this was what the holy spirit revealed to me david hattu had to fight this battle on behalf of israel because israel had accepted the terms and conditions of the rules of engagement that goliath had set out not fought on what they would themselves set out but they had accepted the terms and conditions of the philistines maybe you haven't seen it but i haven't seen it at all i had to sit back and let that register with me the philistines had determined the rules of engagement now if you study strategy whether it be business whether it be marketing whether it be sport especially military strategy you will know that you never let your enemy determine the rules of engagement why because they will always choose to fight with something that gives them an advantage and that gives you a disadvantage and isn't that exactly what happened here we have goliath saying hey you've got an army and we've got an army but why don't we just switch things up a little bit what if you choose just one guy and whoever takes it wins it all israel could have actually said well actually we've got 50 000 men here i'd rather that we rush down the hill and attack you take you out because the bible doesn't say in this account that israel was outnumbered as they had been on many other occasions if you look at verse number 21 it says for israel and the philistines had drawn up in battle array army against army the bible says army against army it seems to me that they were equally matched army against army i would have said all of us just rush down and then fall upon you i would never fall for that old trick that says let's make this thing interesting i think that would have been a much better response from the israelites i played rugby and when the biggest biggest of the players would come running down at us i would see that two or three of the little men would gang up against him and that big man would have to come down if that small man had a big heart he would take down the big man running at him but here once israel had accepted the terms and conditions that that goliath had set out for them they were paralyzed a spirit of fear set in it gripped their hearts and and no one wanted to take him on man for man inside of each man the fight leaked out of him apostle peter said a few weeks ago that faith leaks i want to say to you when faith leaks your fight leaks when goliath ruled over the battlefield because he set the terms and conditions they fell for it hook line and sinker by setting the rules of engagement goliath had set the entire army of israel up for defeat and i want to say to you that this is a major strategy of the enemy today when you are in a fight of any kind of proportion he will come and whisper the wrong words into your ear to change up the rules of engagement and youth you are not wise to his tricks the bible says lest we are defeated by satan we shall not fall for his wiles we do not fall for the changing of the rules of engagement i want to say to you there are many times we lose the battle not because we are smaller not because we are outnumbered not because we are weaker not because we are slower not because we are not equipped like the rest of we lose the battle because we agreed to fight on the enemy's terms we need to fight on the lord's terms it reminds me of the illustration of the eagle and the snake the eagle doesn't never fights the snake on the ground the eagle takes him to where he has got dominance the eagle does not fight the snake where the snake has all the advantage the eagle takes the battle to the air the eagle does not fight on the snake's terms it picks the snake up into the sky and changes the battleground and then it releases the snake into the sky the snake has got no stamina no power and no balance in the air it's useless and it becomes weakened vulnerable unlike when it's on the ground where it is powerful wise and deadly we need to take our battle into god's territory we need to take our battle into the spirit realm because when you are in the spirit realm god takes over and god will fight on your behalf i want to say to somebody today do not fight the enemy in goliath's comfort zone change the battlegrounds be like the eagle take authority in the mighty name of jesus you cannot let the enemy dictate the terms and conditions of the battle that you're about to face whether it's in your family whether it's in your place of work whether it's in your business whether it's in your house and in your physical body the bible says that god has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind take the battle to another dimension the spirit realm and get your fight back the problem the problem becomes when we allow the enemy to dictate the terms and conditions of of the battle and to understand this we got to recognize that we are not dealing with a goliath unless satan should take advantage of us and we are not ignorant of these devices to defeat goliath we have got to recognize the strategies of goliath and the first strategy of of goliath of the enemy when he comes against you is to intimidate you the israelites look at this man a giant of a man the bible says that he was over nine and a half feet tall if you had to put that into our terms your ceiling in your house is two and a half meters tall goliath would stand there and his shoulders and his head will still be above your ceiling he was a huge man the israelites looked at his massive weapons they looked at his defense system they looked at and they looked at all that he brought and they were terrified they looked at the size of the enemy in front of them they listened to the words that he said they listened to the thrift that was in his voice and they were paralyzed by fear the bible says in ephesians 6 12 we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities and against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this age against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly fight places i want to tell you that this fight is not a physical fight your fight is not against your husband or your wife your fight is not against your wayward child your fight is not against your your miserable boss your fight is against the demon and all of that and the devil and all of these demons whose soul purpose it is to come in and to steal and to kill and to destroy we do not wrestle against people but make no mistake we do wrestle david knew that when he saw goliath and goliath challenged him let's look at verse number 37 david says the lord who delivered me from the poor of the lion and from the poor of the bear he will deliver me from the hand of this philistine [Music] i want you to lift up your hand to heaven right now right where you are come on lift your hand to the lord and say after me lord jesus you deliver david from the lion and from the bear and from goliath i trust in you deliver me deliver me from the hand of the enemy in jesus name amen amen the second strategy of the enemy is to isolate you to isolate you when you fight alone you are isolated you are at your most vulnerable look what the word of god says in verse number eight this is the strategy of goliath at the end of the verse he says choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me amen one man a man alone what's he trying to do he's trying to isolate one man so that the whole defeat of a nation would rest on the shoulders of a man who is at a major disadvantage of someone who is built like a truck have you ever seen or watched in a documentary that predators when they hunt they firstly they hunt under the cover of darkness and when a predator hunts it doesn't pounce upon his prey until that prey is wounded or separated from the protection of the herd and this is just what satan does the bible says in one peter chapter five and verse eight be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil rose around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour when you are wounded when you are alone when you are isolated you become particularly vulnerable to the attack of the enemy and this is a major strategy of a goliath isolation isolate divide and conquer divide and conquer divide division die vision die meaning to die vision any time he's got a different vision and you have got a different vision i want to tell you that the enemy already is at work we see in verse number 28 that david's own brothers even when they had a common enemy named goliath they still turn on david and i want to say to you that isn't it so tragic that most often most of the criticism most of the violence most of the anger most of the trauma and most of the hurt and most of the division happens within the setting of the family home verse 28 says this now eliab david's older brother heard when he spoke to the men and ilyab's anger was aroused against david and he said why did you come down here and with whom have you just look at this look at even how he tries to further undermine david he says and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness and now comes the criticism i know your pride and the insolence of your heart for you have come down to see the battle i want to speak to relationships right now husbands and wives parents children family friends colleagues one of the main tactics that the enemy does is to bring division and distraction in our homes the spirit of division brings isolation the bible says that it's not only true and this is not only true for marriages but it's also true in any relationship the bible says in ecclesiastes two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor for if they fall one will lift up his companion but listen to this but woe to him who is alone when he falls for he has no one to help him up again if two lie down and they will keep warm but how can one be warm alone and listen to this though he may be overpowered the one may be overpowered by another two can withstand him one a man a woman can be overpowered by another but where there is unity you can withstand the attack of the enemy you're trying to do something great for god and the first thing that he does is he wants to divide you there is a demonic spirit that the enemy sends out into your homes when you are trying to do what the lord has sent to you to do he wants to send a spirit of division into your home whether it's between you and your spouse you and your child the enemy wants to sow division in your house because the enemy knows the power of unity jesus said that a house divided against itself shall not stand and so the enemy will do anything to bring division into your home and while you are not looking while you are busy while you are doing work and it even may be the work of the kingdom it even may be ministry work while you are doing that the enemy will send in a spirit of division and you won't even know it and right there while you are doing something right something wrong has crept into your house while you are doing something right without even knowing it the enemy has crept into your home but if you've ever been down and out today i want to encourage you to get your fight back you've got to fight for unity that's the good fight and that's how we defeat the enemy the bible says in psalm 103 behold how good it is when brethren dwell together in unity for it is there that god commands a blessing david's reply was hey wait a minute what are you on about talking to his brother elia do you not know that we have a common can a common enemy is there not a cause look at verse 29 david says what have i done now is there not a cause is there not a cause is there not something bigger at stake is there not a cause david's strategy is to isolate to divide and to conquer the good fight is the fight for unity you've got to get your fight back and the third strategy of the enemy is to dominate you let's read verses 42 to 44 together and when the philistines looked about and saw david he disdained him for he was only a youth ruddy and good-looking so the philistines said to david am i a dog that you come to me with your stakes and the philistine cursed david by his gods that the philistines said to david come to me and i will give your your flesh to the birds of the air and to the beast of the field verbal put down of the verbal put down goliath will try to dominate you by making you think less of yourself than what god has purposed and called you to be he will tell you you too young you too old you're too small you're not equipped where is your god has he left you i will destroy you i want to tell you now that the devil is a liar he is the father of lies he is a liar when god the life tries to dominate you pay no attention to the lies just because he said those nasty things about you does not mean that it's true just because you he called you and nothing does not mean that it's true just because he defied your god does not mean that it's true be like a david who confronts the lie with the truth of god in verse number 45 david says to the philistine you come to me with a sword and with the spear and with the javelin but i come to you in the name of the lord of hosts the god of the armies of israel whom you have defied i don't come to you with my own weapons i don't come to you with my own strength i don't come to you with my own credentials but i come to you in the name of the lord of hosts i come to you in the name of jesus the bible said in philippians chapter 2 verses 9 to 11 therefore god has highly exalted him and given him a name that is above every other name that at the name of jesus every knee should bow of those in heaven and of those on the earth and of those under the earth and that every tongue should confess that jesus christ is lord to the glory of god come on that's the truth that's the god that we serve there is no other god there is no other name but the name of jesus amen now the purpose of the strategies of a goliath is to take your eyes off of god and to focus you on the problem and that is why we have got to recognize the traps of the enemy there are many attributes to a goliath slayer but the one i want to speak to you today is that a goliath slayer must fight on the lord's terms you see david did not look at the physical he did not look at the natural david knew before it was even written by the apostle paul in second corinthians chapter 10 that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but are in god for what for the casting down of arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of god bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of god and being ready to what to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled i don't have time today to teach you all of the spiritual weapons that god has given you that are so mighty but i want to name a few of them the first one is the name of jesus the second spiritual weapon that we have is the blood of jesus the blood of jesus speaks of a new and a better covenant our testimony the bible says that we overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony then we have the word of god which is the sword of the spirit god has given us more spiritual weapons he's given us prayer he's given us praise he's given us worship he's given us praying in the holy spirit so i want to just close with you right now look with me in verse number 14. look at me in verse number 14 together it says this then he took his stuff in his hand and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook and he put them in a shepherd's bag in a pouch which he had and his sling was in his hand and he junior to the philistine look at those weapons david's weapons are a sling and some stones maybe i can share a bit of revelation about them stones when the lord showed it to me all i could say all i could say was lord you are so cool sometimes we need to speak to god you're so cool the bible is very descriptive it says to us five smooth smooth stones from a brook a brook is a small trickling river and if the stones had been in a mighty rushing river those stones would have been washed away but here the stones are in a brook a brick which slows it flows slowly and god positioned those stones in the brook and the bible also says that the stones were smooth the smell the stones had been smoothed by the waters of the brook and you can imagine that it must have take hundreds thousands of years for that water to slowly make those stones smooth i i don't think that you get what i'm saying because because the stones were positioned for david and they were prepared for david long before he stepped onto the battlefield with goliath long before he was made an anointed king long before he was born we're talking about hundreds and thousands of years before god prepared the weapons of his warfare ahead of time what am i saying there is a battle that david and collide fought that god had already strategically prepared for he positioned the weapons of his warfare god was not taken by surprise by this battle and is not surprised by the battle that you're in he is alpha and omega he knows the end from the beginning and it's already seen it but i want to say to you that from the beginning god has already prepared spiritual weapons for you he's positioned those weapons for you these weapons the bible says are mighty in god hallelujah somebody give god a shout of praise and the question is the question is wi-fi stones and i've heard incredible commentary and analyses of y5 and i'm sure there's great depth to what they were saying and what these incredibly learned people are saying but for me i'm a simple man and the way i understand it is those five stones was what david could carry at that time [Music] i believe that a goliath slayer fights on god's terms a goliath slayer says that if my prayer doesn't get the result that i want i'll reach into my bag and i'll take another storm and then i'll go into prayer and fasting and if prayer and fasting doesn't give me the results that i want i'm gonna reach into my bag and i'm going to grab another stone and i'm going to call up a few intercessors who know how to pray and pray in the holy spirit and if that doesn't work then i'm going to get my praise on and if i'm getting my praise on and i still don't see the results that i want i'm going to declare the blood of jesus over it and when things are starting to look a bit shaky and my house is looking a bit empty i'm going to go even harder and i'm going to give it my tithe and my offering greater than i've ever given before i've got all kinds of stones in my bag and when the enemy comes at me he doesn't know which stone i'm gonna pull out and if they are not enough for stones that are in my bed david knew that he served the god of more than enough this god will supply according to your need so if you need spiritual weapons god has already prepared them for you i want to say to you now that a goliath slayer is a person who is determined to get his fight back it's a person who will not quit that is how you get your fight back the weapons of your warfare are almighty in god that's a man who would say mr devil if i didn't get you with the first rock and the second rock and the third rock i'm gonna keep on going and i'm not gonna stop until this giant falls in the mighty name of jesus why because i got my fight back [Music] when the medical report says cancer we fight on the lord's terms the doctor says to you it's an aggressive cancer i know that but the kingdom of god suffers violence and the violence taken by force so i will be aggressive i will not fight on the enemy's terms the enemy says that you are sacred copenhagen then you say i will not fight on the enemy's terms he says that you're battling to breed i will not fight on the enemy's terms he says that you have got to go to hospital i will not fight on the enemy's terms their doctors say there's nothing more that we can do that's when you are in god's territory because when man cannot do it god can do all things you've got to get your fight back fight for your marriage fight for your family fight for your home fight for your children fight for unity fight for the things that god has said and purpose for you [Music] but you got to get your fight back here's the cool thing when there's a david a goliath that comes against you you better be sure that god is preparing a david to drop that giant in the mighty name of jesus so you've got to get your fight back but to fight back you've got to stand in the victory that jesus obtained two thousand years ago the bible says in one john chapter five verse four whatever is born of god overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith to be born of god or to be born again or to be saved is to receive the free gift of salvation salvation means to be righteous just like god through his son jesus our savior and if you would today like to receive this free gift of salvation or you would like to recommit your life to the lord because you want to get your fight back i want to ask you to join me please pray with me in fact everybody right where you are in your homes right here repeat after me heavenly father i admit that i am a sinner but this day this day i turn my back on sin i repent of my sins i believe that jesus is your son jesus died on the cross for me he paid the penalty that i couldn't pay i believe that jesus he rose from the grave and on the third day and is now seated at the right hand of the father jesus i ask you come into my life and be my lord be my savior i will follow you all the days of my life i receive the gift of salvation i receive the gift of faith thank you for giving me my faith back this i pray in jesus name and if you receive that today say amen amen and amen hallelujah church we love you i've lost my voice right now i want to say to you that there is one last spiritual weapon that i'm really really really missing and that is the gathering of the saints [Music] and we're looking forward to the day to see you our family in church in the building praising and worshiping the law together church we love you we'll see you again next week god bless you and
