FREE CAR!!!! Sat For 30 Years Road Kill Style Can I Fix It and Drive Home

he said son you're gonna drive me to drinking if he don't stop driving that hot rod lincoln hi everybody welcome back to the channel so i had a car given to me recently and it's a it's all there it is this 1978 lincoln continental four-door and it is all there i mean that is one heck of a car so what i'm gonna try to do is start this car and drive it home under its own power i don't know if that's going to happen or not but let's check this thing out i mean we got a few little tiny hail dings right here on this trim got a pretty good hickey there whiskey dent rag top is sort of it it's fine it's fine right there got a little bit more with whiskey vents but here's a crazy part about this car look how clean it is in here it does not stink this car was last registered in 1990 that tells you how long it's been sitting i mean that is a big old boat of a car so i brought a battery out and we'll see if we can't get this thing going let's show you under the hood she's got 33 000 miles on her that's not too many miles let's get this hood up oh big old engine in there okay we're all gonna get this battery out i've got to replace the spark plug wire right here that's out of there i'll have to fix that and we're going to see if she even turns over first let's check some fluids she's got oil dirty as it may be it's in there well it's got oil where do you check the radiator on this oh it's on the wrong side factory ac car believe it or not there was a lot going on with this thing ooh she's down there always all right i'm gonna get the battery in it imagine these are tight oh no they're not we'll get a battery put in there and see what happens see if this thing will fire up oh get out of there that had the positive on that side no sparkles that's good let's see if this thing's gonna turn over for us see if we have any lights on the inside lights on they work okay see what all works in here okay radio seems to work windshield wipers have a gremlin in them okay we're gonna see if she'll turn over nope lost connection all right i'll set you guys up and we'll work on that a little bit okay here we she go good turned over fine turned over really good i think i heard it sparking so spark is not an issue uh what do we do next let's pop this air filter off and we'll get the spark plug wire replaced go get some gas or enter and see what happens i don't oh oh there's some critters living in here let's get y'all where you can see see all the critters living in there okay this one is chewed off and that goes to there this one is chewed off and it went to so these two are chewed off and gone but that's no big deal so all right i'm gonna go get the gas and the spark plug wires that i brought with me and we'll see if we can't make a run okay well silly me forgot to i grabbed the golden ends instead of the silver rims and now i don't have the right one so these are sticking up a little bit but we'll make them work uh i just got fuel poured in there i'm going to turn her over a little bit try to prime it up and then we'll see what happens see if the horn works okay we're going to give her a shot of fuel right down the old borehole and see what happens oh i'm gonna let that evaporate for a little bit because that was way way way too much oh boy see i'll have to fix these whenever i get home but for now they're just going to have to work i can't believe i just felt all that fuel everywhere oh well what i could do is unplug the coil take that line off see if we're even getting fuel up here let's do that i think that's where fuel goes in let me move you all so you're not looking at me the whole time yeah that's gonna suck ooh that line is so solid it's tight come on oh don't split on me okay yeah that's gonna suck okay let's just turn her over a little bit i think we're gonna put the gas to her see what she does [Music] she busted right off okay we're gonna give her a little bit more juice a lot easier this time on the juice please see if that old fuel tank's gonna work [Music] that was a little bit here in a minute i'll go get a spray bottle up but can't get it to keep going okay i'll go get a spray bottle and i think i can start it right off the solenoid which is these two i'll go get a spray bottle we'll start it off the solenoid then we'll see if we can't get the fuel pump up there and dang windshield wipers keep going off the fuel pump is way down there long ways down okay we'll be right back okay let's get this thing going there we go okay uh well it's not wanting to start oh oh that's probably why okay those dang windshield wipers well i knock spark plug wire off earn it well now my spray bottle ain't working [Music] well get rid of the spray bottle completely come on get up there [Music] flooded uh [Music] uh okay we're not getting any fuel up here which is a bad bad sign but i guess we can run to town real quick pick up an external fuel tank and pick up an external fuel tank and we'll pick up a inline fuel pump and some wire we'll run the thing like that on a gas can home but boy that thing was so quiet just idled so smooth okay well i guess i'm gonna go to town and see if i can't get a external fuel tank somewhere and a fuel pump then we'll run a line down the side of it stick her in plumb her up see if she'll run home i imagine she will i wonder if she'll run off that bowl i don't know if she'll run off this carburetor let's see the fuel goes in here so that might be a vent i don't know let's see nope so i think that is i think that's a vent right there go okay that ought to be enough to tell us if it will start i'll prevent or we'll go not there i think it will i think that carburetor will run just how she is which is pretty freaking exciting all right let's see if she starts again we'll give her a shot of fuel [Applause] [Music] um well i got some company so i'll be back here a little bit probably after we go down okay i made it back and i went and got me a fuel tank that's for a boat it's a three gallon fuel tank run our line just like that ran it there i'll plug this in when i'm ready to leave uh i got fuel pump plumbed in all the way to the carburetor so i guess we'll uh what i'm gonna do first is hook this up let me get the air filter on um okay air is filtered and we'll hook this fuel pump up then we'll go try the starter okay i'm gonna go start it [Applause] that thing just started right up no words so i guess let's see if she'll move under her own power got to get this snake through there [Applause] not leave my pliers under there [Music] oh that thing's so quiet [Music] okay i'm gonna get a couple cameras set up and then we'll see if she'll back up i'm gonna let her idle for a minute and just to make sure she won't overheat so we'll be right back all right we're gonna back over there he's got some air going for us we'll see if she'll back up first move in 20 years i don't know how to [Music] i don't know how to [Music] oh after that goes all the way down [Music] the other one goes down [Applause] [Music] okay it's moving under her own [Music] not very good brakes i need to check the brake fluid that's one thing i've not done yet [Music] so i'll check it real quick and we're just gonna watch it and let it warm up for a minute but i'll check the brakes right now and then we'll see what happens they checked the brakes [Music] [Music] um [Music] [Music] [Music] so that's what's whining like crazy that's that's what's going okay oh foreign now that wine's gone that's just amazing so [Music] we'll tear up some tires and see if this thing's going to take us home brakes are getting better oh yeah okay wear up the tires [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] this side's pretty low too i'll just turn around [Music] yeah that other side's pretty low too yeah i'll turn around all right i'll be back after i hear these up all right we're gonna get out of here and see if see if this thing makes it back to my house it's about 40 miles so let's get on the road that hood is so long boy this is a big old boat oh man speedometer's working i mean cigarette lighter doesn't work oop maybe not make it home i forgot to i forgot to put the vent on the desk on the gas can i forgot to let it vent okay let's let's cruise on that way broken windshield great do you guys believe this and let me make this clear i did not pay for this car he gave it to me with the as long as i promise not to crush it it's my car so let's get on the road see what we can do see if we can make it home we'll be back if we run into any problems at all i mean this is a great car i mean how can you not love a big old boat like this i mean you're just so flush and flush and oh it's it's such a cool car so all right we'll go on time lapse and we'll see what happens well we're going down the road and i stopped and got some fuel in my three gallon can oh here comes roy he's gonna call all right that was roy and but look at the speedometer the radio let's see yeah radio works uh man this thing is super nice headliner is in perfect shape you talk about a land yacht and you think of lincoln town car continental i mean how do you get a car i mean he gave me this car freaking clear how do you get it go put a little bit of fuel a battery start it up drive it home that don't make a whole lot of sense to me no warning lights on the dash i mean it is amazing this car is just stinking amazing i mean from start to finish we probably got i don't know but it started at 1 30 ish so six hours into this thing and we're driving at home i think that's a pretty good deal so and i thought about putting you guys in the back but so far back there you might not be able to see the front so laying lot yachts are us so here up here at lenoir i'm gonna stop and check the fuel and make sure we're still good to keep on going home my daughter is gonna flip when she sees a big bright green car rolling into their driveway so we'll be back here after a little bit when we get home well we made it two-thirds of the way we're still doing good i mean my gauges are looking fine there's no warning lights on the fuel i don't smell it i smell old rotten fuel i don't know where that smells coming from but i got new fuel in there so i don't know where that old fuel smells coming from uh i was trying out playing with it a little bit but let's see we'll set it at 45 and watch this thing go that thing is cruising at 45 cruise control works i mean come on now the tires they feel like they're square you know they got bad flat spots on it but it's it's uh i mean it's been sitting for pretty much 30 years uh it was drove to the quick stop a couple times in that 30 years and then parked uh for at least 10 years without being started so i mean we'll get we'll get the uh air conditioner working in this uh i have a small little idea for this thing i don't i don't know how well it's gonna work but we'll see how this works but man this thing is so cool it's like riding in a big old boat i could not be happier with it so i'll have to take it to town after i get some tags put on it we'll have to uh we'll have to wash it really good i'm going to work on cleaning some of the crap out from under the hood here real soon i got to get some spark plug wires for it i have wires i just need to uh make them right you know so man it's just running super well i've not had any problems uh cruise control works radio works air conditioner i don't know if it works yet we're gonna have to work on it just it doesn't even have a belt on it smog pump belt is off um i'm sort of thinking about putting the smog back to work and i know you guys might hate that but it's it's original to the car this part is just so original look at that headliner the backseat i mean just pan around everywhere you look you see elegance elegance and a lincoln the radio is economy's nice air conditioner even the mirrors aren't faded too bad so let's finish the trip home and we'll see you there i'll see what my wife thinks i mentioned all right we'll be back okay well i made it home this car did super well i mean you couldn't ask for a better result so i guess i'll call martin and tell him that i made it home and okay well i made it home and boy this thing just runs so well let's take a look at it i mean just so smooth it runs so well this is just such a nice car i don't know what we're gonna do with it headlights work everything on it works and i mean it just works so i love these windows i think those windows are so cool so i'm glad we made it home
