with our grand family live saber series entitled resetting reviving and reconnecting the family with god god is interested in the well-being of all families he created the family unit to give support love and to nurture children stable healthy families are at the heart of strong societies it has been said that the closest thing to heaven on earth is a happy christian home at the same time few things in this world are as stressful as a home filled with strife unfortunately family conflict at times brings it anger frustration lack of communication divorce teenage rebellion and abuse these issues are sadly plaguing many of our families today however god is reminding us that there is hope in him for our families amen amen our topic for today centers around rebuilding the family altar god is calling us to return to him to place him once again at the center of our homes the word of god tells us in psalm 127 1 unless the lord builds the house those who build it believe it in vain god has a powerful word for us today so share the link with your family friends and loved ones for today god indeed has a blessing in store for us join me now as we pray heavenly father mighty god a god who is full of compassion and mercy we your people come before you with a calm assurance knowing their father that you're a god who hears and answers our prayer so before you this morning i present to all our families their god families are under attack the enemy wants to come in their god and to create division chaos but we know their god we trust their father we have the confidence that once we place you there father at the center of our homes we can have the victory so humble our hearts their god today so we can receive the message that you have prepared for us be with everyone involved here this are so happy to have you welcome you know we always have a story for you on the children's corner but before we go to the story i have a friend i would like you to meet meet itsy bitsy the spider she is a tarantula and how i know she's a tarantula well she's hairy her body is covered with hair even her eight legs and would you believe it looks like itsy bitsy is wearing pink socks yes pink socks now i understand that tarantulas could live up to 25 years and they grow to about 11 inches long yes he loves to eat insects itsy bitsy love insects but tarantulas also eat toads and bigger insects yes you know where they live tarantulas they live on the ground they live in trees even in plants like this plant where uncle duffy found itsy bitsy and you know they also live in very dark places which reminds me of our story today it's about a dark place where two men were held as prisoners listen up to our story today so girls you all enjoy the chicken seeing the chickens and the gourds and the ducks and all the animals you all enjoyed it okay well daddy has to go off to work no okay all right all right sweetheart all right if you insist i'll tell you the story before i run off to work okay all right everybody always knows that no sir let me tell you what happened we came here to preach the gospel of jesus why helping someone here this woman who had demons on her kept following us around she kept saying these are servants of the most high god who shows us the way of salvation and after that when she followed us for a number of days my friend here paul cast the demon out of her in jesus name and after that they sent us to the magistrate they beat us and then drag us to prison the innocent earlier it's midnight i go in and sleep or they try and do the same things for me please all right oh earthquake the prisoners are gone oh my god they'll kill me they'll kill me and my family it's better i take my own life we're still here we are right here oh god save thus and he can also save you what must i do to be saved trust and believe in him all he asks is for you to believe in him he will deliver you he will forgive you he would save you believe in the lord jesus and you and your family will be saved tell me more please tell me more i want to be baptized me and my entire family i want to be baptized if that is your wish my brother we were baptized yes yes what a story boys and girls what an earthquake but you know paul and silas did not run away no they didn't and that made an impression on the on the jailer's mind he wanted to understand how come they had the opportunity to run away but they didn't paul and silas used that opportunity to tell the jailer of god's love of the great god they serve and he was so impressed that the jailer wanted to hear more he wanted to understand more of god's love of his care of his goodness towards him not only him but he and his family so paul and silas were able to speak and preach the jailer and his family and that whole family were baptized boys and girls paul and silas were witnesses they represented god they showed who god was and they were faithful we too could be witnesses mummies and daddies you too could be witnesses and as we witness others will know of god and they too will call upon god in their time of need so let us pray father we thank you for the lesson of paul and silas be with us as we go through another week and may our attitudes may we reflect you in our lives this we pray with thanksgiving in jesus name amen bye boys and girls hi boys and girls happy servers we are so happy that you joined us today we are going to say our memory text today our memory text teaches us something very important do you know you have all the answers to your questions in the bible yes boys and girls today teaches us that we need to be obedient to our parents the memory text is taken from ephesians 6 1 2 and 3. yes so what we would like you to do is to listen and join us on the second time let's sharon as your your aunties continue to lead you every single sabbath we are happy again to be here this morning and we want to share the youth class lesson just the high point in a youth class lesson that we would have studied for the entire week and i'm certain that our youths are up and they are sitting with their quarterlies in front of them and they are ready to engage okay our story or theme for youth class lesson discussion is a story of faith a story of faith that's what your class would have studied for this entire week and our bible script here is taken from esther chapter 3 esther chapter 3 and i want to share with us briefly the story that we would have engaged ourselves in from a youth class point of view so that you have an understanding as to what we are talking about when we speak about a story of faith okay it says sometime later as ahusaras honored a man named haman the son of a hamadat a descendant of iga the amalekite king whom saul had captured and king killed the king made him and prime minister in charge of all the other nobles in the empire now at haman's inauguration as prime minister the king ordered all officials under hemon to bow down to him each morning and every single evening when he left for whom now they all carried out the king's order except one gentleman by the name of modikai when he manhood that morikai was not bowing before him like the rest of his officials he became extremely furious so he man marched off to see the king and said king there's a group of individuals a group of people scattered throughout your kingdom whose customs are entirely different to ours they don't keep the laws of the king or have the interest of the country at heart it's not wise it's not wise working to tolerate such people because they are stirring up dissatisfaction among the king's orders if it please the king let him issue an order that all such people be execute executed for this your disser this year by executing them and confiscating their property will be able to put more than 375 tons of silver into the royal treasury to be used for the empire now of course that song did really good to the king so the king said to him on write out the execution order seal it with my ring and when you have confiscated their property all their silver will be yours to manage for the good of the country the story goes on to see when attack told esther what monica had said she determined to approach a king to try to save her people so she went so she sent her attack back to modikai with this message and listened to the message that that she sent him back with tell all the jews in susa to gather in small groups to fast and pray for me tell them not to eat or drink anything except water for three days a night i and my seven girls will do the same the third day from now i'll go to see the king even though it's against the law if i perish i perish so mordecai went through all the city and did what esther had asked him to do remember that the story that we are dealing with is a story of faith a lot of us probably look at esther's amazing leap of faith and wonder what we would have done if we were in her situation you see youths you see adults it has to do with trust in god if we put our lives in the hands of god and commit ourselves to him i want to assure you that he will continue to look after us god will always be by our side whether we feel or whether we feel him there or not sometimes we are so caught up in our own problems that we forget we forget to turn to god we forget to exercise feet we forget to talk to god about our problems but look at what esther would have done she operated by faith she believed that her god would have taken care of her and all those jews who were earmarked to be slaughtered and what she said that stood out to me is that if she perish she perish but that didn't stop her from making that step of feet this is an indication to all of us this morning that no matter what confronts us as youths as adults no matter what confronts us we must always be willing to step out in feet believe and trust in god know that he will always be side by side with us taken us through our journey let us continue to trust our maker god bless you happy and holy sabbath day to everyone it's good to be here again where we can give glory and praise and honor to our great god get a deeper understanding of his sacred words as we get ready for that glorious day of his second coming we are fast moving to the end of the year oh how we wish the year would run on very quickly and all the negatives of the year also goes with it we trust that the pandemic will be soon over so we can see the glory of the lord and continue to be the people that god wants us to be we want to study this morning we want to look again at the adult lesson and before we do that we want to just have a word of prayer so we invite you just to bow where you are as we pray loving and eternal god we come we invite you into our lives into our hearts into our understanding and be the teacher so that we can truly understand your sacred words and be drawn closer to you and be blessed abundantly and we give you praise honor glory and thanksgiving in jesus name amen all right our lesson for this week that you have studied that we have all studied let's see if we can expand and see we can draw some of these important points from the lesson the lesson says the eyes of the lord and we are looking at the biblical worldview we're comparing that worldview and so therefore we want to look at the memory text let's see what the memory text is saying and with me as you at least since we were out for the past few weeks we have brother casford francis is with us and i am peter morris so that we would all be working together and helping to expand and to look at this important lesson so that the memory text is saying the eyes of the lord are in every place keeping watch on the evil and on the good and it's taken from proverbs 15 and verse so that this omnipotent god this omnipresent god this omni saint god amnesian god he's everywhere he knows everything he's all-powerful and we discover that there is a universal plot the adversary the devil he is constantly trying to dethrone god to remove god out of the picture so that we do not see him as the great god of creation the great god that has indeed established himself throughout the length and breadth of the universe and so he has developed all different types of theories and even he has an infected even the christian world about him about anti-god and so this morning we would want to look first at what really some of those world views that have been established seem to run counter that which god has revealed so brother caspar tell us what it is that it is these different world views that have been established or have been circling around that seem to be running counter that which god has revealed everything exists life has no meaning no purpose it's just happening by chance but the opposite to that is what we believe where the universe was created by god and that god exists and cares for his creation and that we will create it with a purpose and that we were created to really live forever with god so that we have a view that is totally opposite to what others believe that there is no god everything exists and life has no meaning and no purpose so you see that we are directly opposite to each other yeah so it's so interesting that there are so two different foods but the question is with these two different views there's the age-old question of which comes first the chicken or the egg the egg or the chicken so pasta talk to me about that this morning you know as even even as we expand on this very thought even man is willing even to make himself less human and to reduce the importance and and his dignity with god god is he has elevated us with man we came from nothing so it seems that it it doesn't matter so we have been dehumanized even by the atheistic views and so if we look at even the creation there is so much our faith has evidence creation gives us enough evidence to believe about this god the atheistic view seemed to be that you have to stretch your mind beyond even that which is logical to believe it and so creation so the bible god never really sought to debate about his creation he says i exist i am the creator of the universe take it or leave it in the beginning god so he's not debating with anybody he has already established those facts i am god i am the creator and it says isaiah says it is he who made the earth and created mankind full stop no debate so that god is saying i am god he is saying i am creator and the moment we remove the fact of god as creator if that is removed then there is need for no other bible for no doctrine for nothing else everything falls flat once god is removed as creator so that the creation story is one of the most repeated themes of the bible it's important that we understand this creation theme so that all other biblical doctrines hinged on the fact that god is the creator so therefore the question comes then how important then is christian education in the light of all the various theories that are out there how important then that christian education should play that important part in establishing factually that god is and the realities of helping us to better appreciate who god is all right so then for me it's so interesting that that we start with the creation point because the two facts that we talk about god exists and that he created the universe now the chris the seventh adventist church has believed so much in christian education that they have created over 8 000 institutions worldwide in terms of of teaching and having and teaching that christian-centric world view that god is and he has created universe now from our biblical worldview there are certain things that are fundamental to that and these are the things that we teach at our institutions let me give you a few of what i'm talking about one we talk about our doctrines and our doctrines that teach us how to live also how to make moral decisions why we make the decisions that we make also how to treat our neighbor how do we we exist with man and our fellow neighbors and our community as well as how to interpret the world around us as well as what to expect in the future so many times adventist parents decide that listen regardless of whatever else is out there i'm gonna send my child to a school that teaches this biblical worldview because this is what i believe in regardless of what is said i believe in this and i want my children to understand that this is our the correct world view that we view the world from let me give you an example of of why we choose this when we see a rainbow in the sky elder oh yes and you see a rainbow some our world will be from the railroad that god made a covenant with us that he will no longer destroy the earth by flood again you're sure that it's not just nature with the mixing of the sun and the moon right and just showing us a a symbol in there symbol in here so that's what we believe other people believe that listen this this rainbow is just just there because of light as you like and science and disk while some people have even taken the colors of the rainbow to to represent themselves and to represent what they believe which is even against what god believes so i'm saying that because we have this biblical review a rainbow means so much different to us indeed and someone who don't have the same view as us so it's so important that our schools and it even happened to me as a student i went to adventist university who talked about things that that that we're discussing our absolute truths and the first time i heard the world i was i was i was taken aback what do you mean by absolute truths it doesn't have cutes all the time but then when they explained no that absolute truths come from the fact that there has been a god that created us and there are things that he told us is true and that we should follow them so it leads me to my next question elder when we talk about absolute truths and we are talking about things that we must follow then we go on to something that people talk about the law of god and and and what god considers to be right and morally correct in this world so pastor let's talk a little bit about the law of god listen if god is creator he did not just create the world and leave it to run on its own god established laws by which the universe must operate okay and more than that he also established laws by which the creatures he has created also should operate so there are absolute things that god has established okay if we take the the atheistic view of things and say that man could do whatever you want he's alone to himself yeah the world will be in trouble okay us everywhere so that you will say the right thing to do is to eat upside down and i will establish the right thing to do to sit down at the table and eat and if you feel comfortable doing what you do i feel comfortable doing what to do i could say look now i could run across the road any time and you should i don't so that the case because every man will choose to do what he thinks is best for him and nobody operates in that world like that and be comfortable it creates confusion it creates conflict but god is established and every man follows god you know because no man would want to take his wife and to see another man come and take it take it take her away from him no he fights to to to secure his family and yet he still holds that there is no absolute okay so god has established his laws his absolute laws for all manga and it's not just for you or for me it's for the universe everybody and therefore it's important that god will every human being must give an account to the god who has established the law both by nature okay and by human development you throw yourself off a building and you're going to fall gravity says you're going to fall and you're going to damage yourself okay so that the laws of god are established the laws of the and again it comes from a god of love who is showing us how to live comfortably with each other do not rob your neighbor do not deprive your neighbor of that blessing and how we must be reverence to god and therefore if you check in the law there is century the centrality of the law is that god says i created the world in six days yes and i've established the sabbath to keep reminding the universe that i am creator god yes christian dumb even as trying to remove god the god of the sabbath okay the moment you take away the sabbath you take it with the creator okay so god is saying that the law was fully established so that each and every one of us can understand the importance of following the divine plan the creator god but pastor we were discussing this week and talking about the guy on tuesday's list in france who was saying listen they were talking about abolition corporal punishment and he was saying listen we move all the punishments yes because we holy lord if you are taking away capital punishment then let go of the people in prison all right set them free get everybody free because what sense okay the law is no longer meaningful they'll get people can do whatever they want and nobody can charge them for anything so set everybody free and so it is mankind of themselves must understand that there is a supreme being that has given us and because man have sinned and have drifted away from god god did not leave us he put a plan in place okay okay he is attempting to restore us back to obedience back to a civil way of living back to a right action okay and so therefore there is a plan that god has it is called the plan of redemption all right so let's hear how what we've got how we can look at god's plan so so so for me pastor what's so interesting is that this point of redemption is this that that man made a mistake but god didn't discuss he did not discuss he didn't trust a way either you make this this is not good again let me get rid of this he said no he's a loving god he had a plan even before we made it even before a redeeming plan that the creator would die to save his creation and it tells you the extent to which this we have really drifted okay because god recognized that our action or our sinfulness leads to death okay and total extinction from the universe and he said no no no i cannot allow my creatures to die so he came and he died in our place yes so that it was part of the plan to restore us so that again in the whole plan of redemption what else has god provided for us you see now for me as well this plan is so sweet the quality everlasting gospel and it's something that that god has asked us to share with you indeed and these are some of the things that we teach in our education system that listen after we've learned all these beautiful truths we need to share them with someone else okay we need to let the world know that christ is soon to come but what is also interesting is that it shows that creation and the gospel is intertwined definitely and wrapped into each other because they are closely related because it says you cannot save us if you are not the one who created us so it's so important that we understand that god's span of of of redemption and also the foundation of creation is intertwined it's connected to each other and it it it shows even the debt the resurrection and the second coming of the coming of his son jesus christ and if we look carefully we can see that the world is is dying the even the pandemic now the global impact of man's behavior everything seems to be you know falling apart around us all right god is saying okay this is the impact of sin and i am coming tell the world i'm coming tell them that i'm coming i'm coming to restore i am the creator i knew what i wanted to have man legally enjoying the beautiful things of life and i'm going to restore man so i'm coming the plan of redemption is an effect and so we must continue to exalt and to magnify and to glorify god and giving the world a plan that got us to restore all of us unto eternal glory so as we close i i close with this bishop as we leave our congregation that the law of god is based on a loving and respecting god and our neighbor and that the moral code is what is good before god's eyes yes so that we are to live by what is good before god's eyes as we close with prayer father we thank you for today and pray that you continue to beat us as we study our lesson and may your grace continue to be with us for christ's sake amen amen amen we have a baby to be dedicated and of course today begins the family life series and i believe what a wonderful way for us to insert a baby dedication and this time we will invite the parents along with a little jeremiah to come as we have the baby dedication done for this morning all right you stand right here like a mum yes all right so the practices as music is played softly the practices that we open the word of god and we share with you what is required what we cried of you as parents um and to help you to understand the seriousness of today and this entire not just exercise but experience so i want to invite you as we begin those at home and even here i will invite us to bow heads as we pray eternal god we give you thanks and praise that we can be here this morning to offer little jeremiah into the hands of god we ask even now that this very sacred experience will be blessed by you and we ask that you take full control may you open the minds of the parents whatever is said what if instructions are given that they will accept and heed in jesus name we pray amen right so we are not going to read per se we are just going i'm going to share with you from the book of samuel first samuel chapter 1 reading verse 11 or looking at verse 11 and basically this is a story of hannah who could not bear children or a child and she prayed and asked god in verse 11 actually challenging god that if he bless her with child then she will offer the child back to the lord amen and so this morning somewhat similar to that experience you have acknowledged the seriousness and the sovereignty of god and his blessing to your family and like anna you have promised to give your daughter jemiah to the lord now if you would notice in that very same story when hannah prayed she did fulfill the promise of offering or giving samuel to the temple you would realize in that story that eli who was the priest at the time took control of samuel in training him as a church the 5-7 adventist church i'm going to ask the members are in line but we're going to ask for commitment this morning before we pray that they support you as parents and support uh jemiah in the way of the lord but but more importantly i want you to note that that eli knew the voice of god so that when samuel samuel you focus on me don't don't be distracted right samuel when samuel could not identify the voice that was calling him eli knew the voice as parents it is this is not just coming to dedicator or for your child or offer jeremiah to the lord you yourselves must know the voice of god and understand the voice of god and have a relationship with god that when that time comes jemiah coming to ask questions or to inquire you yourselves must know the voice of god to give directions so today i pray as parents right that you will take heed in first of all being obedient to god taking full control of your spiritual life so that you will not just tell jeremiah how to live but you will show her how to live through your lifestyle and your example amen do you have your commitment parents yes uh yes all right i think i want those online to hear the yes yes yes yes yes jumaya said yes tells us in deuteronomy that they will teach her when she is lying when she is sitting when she rises up that they will teach her in the way of the lord we pray father that you will give them the ability to be able to provide not only physical meal or food but they will provide the emotional support the psychological support the spiritual support that is necessary for the growth development and for the empowerment of jamya we pray that she will be the female version of jeremiah to be a preacher of the lord that when she is of age that she will give her life to jesus so father we pray that those that have come here today to give support to the parents and to jeremiah we pray father that you would help them as well to train to teach and to give the support necessary for jamaica to be able to be an outstanding citizen not only of earth but of heaven we pray father for all the church members that are members of the 5-7 adventist church who are looking on we know god while they are not here because of the restrictions we ask god that they too will give the commitment and as leaders as leadership we too will give our support and commitment to the growth and development of who live together they love each other and care for each other but these days if you observe any family and especially if you look at a family being portrayed on tv you'd likely see the father being depicted as idiotic the mother is overbearing and the children are wise beyond their ears but that is not the way god intended it to be in fact i'm sure you'd agree with me if i see that today's families are under attack and more so are christian families what is a family alter family alter is simply defined as family time set aside for worship and for praying together and every christian family should strive to have such time daily yet it's sad and amazing how few families actually aspire or accomplish this and the ones who do would tell you as you would discover over the next seven weeks how amazing the benefits are most importantly the achievement of one of our greatest mandates found in deuteronomy 4 67 where god is saying to love the lord your god with all your heart and soul and might and to teach this to our children so when we stand up and when we are lying down when we walk by the wayside and when we are at our home so if you want to start a family alter or you've the darkness my god that in the is my god that is me and that's the year that's the reason why we are here today to worship the god who holds the very plan for our lives today begins a rather significant experience in the life of every family if one would allow that to be the case for this meaningful series resetting reviving reconnecting the family and here we are in the house of god and the beautiful place to get started with this whole experience for if one wants truly to reset to revive and reconnect again it's all about god now and i'm happy to be a part of this entire experience the sermon for today as we go back to the altar of god is entitled distinguished the the distinctiveness of the advent family life message let me repeat that again the distinctiveness of the advent family life message and the message is derived from the biblical passage found in the holy bible malachi chapter 4 and from verse 4 on to six therein the sermon is derived and i invite you please if you would if you have your bibles or whatever device you've got where those words can be found malachi chapter 4 and i'm going to read in your hearing from verse 4 on to 6. remember he the law of moses my servant which i commanded unto him in horeb for all israel with the self salutations and the judgments behold i will send you elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the lord and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers lest i come and smite the earth with a curse shall we pray we have opened the holy bible father we did that with godly fear for we are convinced and we know from that book your will can be revealed to us would you please allow your holy spirit then to lead us into truth truth that is found in your holy bible so at the end of our worship here two things will be accomplished your name will be glorified but our souls our families will find rest in thee i make this prayer today in the name of jesus amen the biblical reference that i used earlier on the very last book of the old testament is considered to be roughly about 400 years between malachi and the new testament and this is rather instructive because two things should be noted that book ends with a warning and it also ends with a clear understanding as to the significance of the family in relationship in relation to god's judgment on the earth and so this whole series resetting reviving and reconnecting is of grave importance because if the last warning of the old testament is is that god going to step in and god will smite the earth and then for before that is done he sends the message that the family is of grave importance and he wants to get involved and the resetting and the reviving and the reconnecting that is required can only be done when he is involved then this series is absolutely on spot i trust that you will not miss any of these presentations in the course of this series for god wants to do something with your family life i am not mindful i say what might have been your situation because the one that i'm representing here can take any given situation and create something brand new out of it if there is a need for resetting if there is a need for reviving if there's a need for reconnecting the god that we worship is able to do all that for us but it is necessary for us to face some facts here before i go on further the fact is people the message today that i'm about to preach is not a carbon copy of the several christian communities that's it that will speak about the family the message that the advent community carries about the family is not a carbon copy in other words there is a uniqueness about it that needs to be understood and if that is missed then the reconnecting and the reviving that your desires of will not be realized the event message expresses a unique and a distinctive insight and approach for the family today that should not be missed now don't get me wrong i'm in always suggesting that other christian communities do not carry essential messages about the family as a matter of fact we will share with a level of enthusiasm with those folks when the principles according to the bible is is it's been been preached all right we will do just like that as a matter of fact the adventurers will take pride and select from the secular research of sociology and the family science all the meaningful thoughts that can enhance the family so i'm not ignoring those i'm not ignoring the truth about the family that might be found elsewhere but there is a principle there is a key to the whole thing here because this morning's message is not just simply for you to have a family that is free from conflict as a matter of fact you'll discover that there is no family that will be lived in a meaningful way without a conflict we'll discover that in a short while so we're not limiting family to this to what sociology and the science of the family may have taught us we are going deeper than that there is a spiritual truth that needs to be understood in order for that freedom to be heard and what is that you may be asking then what what makes the message that the advent church preaches so unique from all the other family life messages may i quickly share with you then that as far as the advent church is concerned and the teaching of the holy bible makes it quite real the family is viewed the family is assessed and the family is lived in a larger cosmic perspective please underscore that it is not just simply to have a calm joyous family that may be so that may be wanted but there is more therapeutic here and the family has to be viewed and lived assessed in this cons the perspective from this cosmic conflict you see people we need to understand that family is god's idea family is god's idea and regardless to all the other in pieces of information that may be gathered about the family if those ideas are not consistent to what god idea is about then it is it is filled with flaws if it's running against what god says it should be rejected the family is god's idea not you well though that to every meaningful family that is engaged in because every family gets started with two persons coming together with similar thoughts that are derived from an understanding to the goal that family ought to bring to be here and what are those two persons come into the family with three things each individual the man and the woman they both come in with two three things one they come in with ideas two expectations and three values every family life is based on those three those three ideas those three thoughts really do persons coming in wanted to set up a family they were coming with ideas expectations and values now when god when god was instituting the family he himself also gets started with those three things he god did not just carelessly call man into existence and trust him into that space called family without having ideas expectations and values attached to weight however if mankind will drift from god's ideas god's expectations and god's eye values of the family then you will miss what family can certainly bring to your life may i then suggest to you very strongly that is that if you want really to experience a fulfilling life where self-actualization can be realized in the context of family you need to order your family according to god's ideas god's expectations and god's values the concept of the family is he right from god that's why i'm saying that what was god's idea somebody might be asking a question then what was god's idea when he when he introduced this this this beautiful space called family i read in the holy bible in the book of genesis when god said let us make man and let us make man in our own image making man in his own image what a starting point for us to begin to reassess and to reevaluate in order for us to reconnect if we're gonna get family life to where it ought to be we're gonna get started with that that in the beginning god did just that i know that many families may be all harm strong with negatives but i want you to push aside the devil's thoughts right now about your families yes the brokenness might be there but go beyond that right now i want you to know that your family came from god's idea and for you to reconnect for your family to be reconnected and to be revived you have to go back to that truth the starting point of your family is not just simply two human beings coming together god got it started move beyond your carnal senses now and allow god and what god is saying to you to register the idea of the family is god and he said now god made it in his own image that tells me his idea is there and his idea is it's really to create something of value god had expectations just the same not only in his image but also in his likeness say no i'm gonna make man out of my idea but my idea about man must reflect who i am i am now i am now coming to a fuller appreciation to the sacred truths that my family ought to reflect my family ought to reflect the trinity because the family god's idea is derived from god's idea being made in the image of god with god expectation that man will function like him now if that's the case a number of things will be changed i could immediately think about a man who understands that that god's idea for the family is not limited to his but it's god's idea the expectation of the family is not limited to what he wants but what god says and when you look at that closely you come to understand that god would have muddled what what the head of the home should be like then and so everything that god created you'll see god as father taking responsibility to cultivate it he took responsibility for that which he brought to be here and that's the reason why the value that god placed on man thereafter is to give him the capacity to have dominion that's god's idea for the family it tells me then that every family or any family that is lived assessed according to god's will god's idea has got expectations and god's values hey the devil has no has no stronghold there the devil's plan cannot be fulfilled when you are living within god's idea in the image of god the expectation of god the value that god would have placed on your family god when god declares something it just got to happen and i i have to repeat myself here because i'm talking and some persons might be saying well he doesn't know what my family is going through but for every time god speaks something has to happen when god speaks it's not just simply legislative no when god speaks there is execution attached to it and if you're listening to god's word this morning and you come to understand that your family is derived from god's idea with god's expectations and there's a there's value attached to that then you are not just simply seeking to do it on your own god is coming through god is right now instilling something he is reconnecting you to your source again but you see people you see people the devil is quite aware that god's ideas god's expectation and god's value if those things are fulfilled in our lives there will be constant creation that that brings beauty there is order that will bring a level of fulfillment and there is worth that carries with it a depth of capacity to function with a sense of authority the devil knows that and so the devil comes by and he wants to create and not one wants to create he has created conflicts every conflict gets started with ideas expectations and values not harmonizing when two persons come together in marriage they come with those three things but if those two individuals they simply live according to their ideas expectations and values without considering the other then of course you'll find that there will be conflict in in any room where there is conflict you will see it's because ideas differ is because expectations are not fulfilled is because values are not being related to that's how conflict gets started and since we are in this broken space called the world drilled down by sin you can see two individuals coming to start a family with ideas expectations and values all in their head feeling that they have it covered only when they get into the relationship come to understand hey we don't have the same ideas we don't have the same values we don't have the same expectations they may have the similar goals but to relate to that goal they both want children they both want a good bank account they both want a nice house the goals are similar but the idea is to pursue those things the expectations in pursuing those things and the value attached to it might be vastly different so then you hear the grumbling get started when the man began to say well this is what i think and the woman says what i and the home right now is in a conflict the devil is that's the way the devil gets into our home and he started to even approach god with not god with adam and eve with that so that's what the devil did he went to eve now but note you well the devil did not attack eve when adam was present that suggests to me something rather sacred in order for family to fulfill his godly purpose there has to be the the unity between that man and woman from a god-like perspective not just simply what the man thinks or what the woman thinks it has to do with what god says adam and eve if they would have stayed together but there there was a separation and the devil targeted take note of that the devil targeted that which was most precious to the man you see there is a reality here that we cannot get away from every man every man is driven by three desires whether he's born again or not he's driven by three desires the desire for comfort the desire for significance and the desire to know that he's in control of his game a real man wants that and not you well there is one experience that can give that man all those three things is marriage a man has a woman that is god sent a gift from god a significance a sense of control and comfort all can be found and every time a man engages in that activity or in that space where those three desires are fulfilled there there is what i will call an addiction that takes place there's a unifying of the source he get connected to that source and you may discover this recently on trinidad we are hearing about so many persons being killed women being killed and you'll you'll come to understand with all the laws past and protection orders given when a man when a man loses that which he perceives his comfort his significance and control is taken away he loses it that's how the devil function legislation can't change in that there has to be a reconnecting to the source when family is built on god where ideas expectations and values are all assessed from god's perspective the devil waited until eve walked away found her and he began to suggest some some silly things to her he began to cause us to question the authority of god's word he calls out the question the accuracy of god's word and he calls it a question the acceptability of god's word not you well please follow me now when the devil comes back he he interferes with the very source he didn't tell eve walk away from adam no he was a he's too subtle for that instead he got eve to move away from the source question the authority of the source question the accuracy of the source question the acceptability of the source and eve was sent now into a space of denial doubt and delusion every time any family drifts away from the word of god from the source when god is not connected to in the family you will find authority being questioned denial doubt and delusion will take over and when denial doubt and delusion takes over people is because the devil wants to remove what god would have created and cause void in your marriage to be where god would have brought order he wants to bring chaos where god would have placed wars the devil wants to bring ways the conflict is on and the family i'm suggesting not suggesting i'm declaring to us today the conflict here the devil knows has to do with the call the family itself the advent message then yes will agree with other theological thoughts about the family as found in the bible but this particular truth that the family has to be assessed from this cosmic perspective that the devil is involved and the thing about it family is a trophy don't you believe that the devil is just getting at you the devil is trying to get at god because god made you he made me he made our family in his likeness and in his image he wants our families to reflect the trinity where there is unity where there is love where there's affirmation and such like the devil knows that but he can't get at god so he's trying to hurt god in in that he's getting to us now and that's what he did to eve he went to eve now and caused eve to question this god who holds the plan for their life and he calls eve now to question the authority ye god had said suggesting that may not be altogether true who is this god really to tell you that he's questioning the authority of god you shall not eat how right is that how accurate is that and god knows it is good for you it is it is good for you it is good for food don't accept what god says now and that's the time when eve plunged away from god into the depth of sin and then she went to the man the man that found comfort significance and a sense of control in his face because god didn't just give to adam dominion god gave to them dominion i hope somebody hear me hear that i hope some male chauvinistic man he is that one god didn't just give you brother the authority he gave unto them dominion and the devil understand the kind of unity that is required for that dominion to be heard get to the woman the source to the man's sense of self where his comfort his significance and control all three experiences there and the more adam would have experienced that is the more united he was as a matter of fact he got so caught up with this he was so in in in enthused with his wife now where all his comfort that he needed oh is eve now here is eve who gave me comfort here is eve who gave me significance here is eve who give me a sense of of worth as it were and the woman was so profoundly beautiful and fulfilling to adam adam ignored god sisters i want you to understand that's where the wife kicks in you hold something that a man needs in order for him to function right don't waste it don't follow the world now and control your home like the world wheel there is a submission i just use a word that many christians don't like me to use submit but i'm talking here about a system that god would have set up in order for this system to work right is not about what you think about what the man think is about what god says and so god made the point quite clear now submit yourself to this man in other words you carry the source to drive this man in a particular direction don't misuse it and so family life was now drifting down with void chaos ways when god would have set up man with beautiful pieces of creation ensure that everything that man wanted would have been set up before man was created god created everything that man needed placed him in a play in a position of authority creation more than that god gave him and god gave order in order for that to be preserved don't do this in order for your family to stay that way and when man walked away from that when adam and eve walked away from that the eye the devil's ideas the devil's expectations and the devil's poor value to the family now become where man's heart are tugging and it's so easy for the family to go along the satanic path instead of the god-given path it's like that which is between us is causing us to move away but we are called this the today people from this series to do those three things for us to reset go back to where we belong back to the word of god back to the word of god that's where revival to the family will get started get reconnected again to this god you'll come to understand when that is done then god's ideas god expectations and god's value attached to your family could be real could be realized but today family life is held now the need for a choice to be made somebody said somebody asked me the question some time ago if god is so loved and so powerful why it is he will give man he will allow man he knows that man is so weak and man could sin why would he give man two things that he can choose from because he chooses people that love always gives options true love always gives option that's god's that's god's design that's how god function functions sorry and so when sin came all god's creation god's idea god's expectations and the value attached to family they are now being shaken tossed to and fro with some strange pieces of thought and i know that there are some enemies to watch the families here some philosophical thoughts that seek to work against the family but for but for us who are engaging in this series we will not relate to our family from those humanistic thoughts we are relating it with from god's perspective and we firmly believe that god who made man in his image god who has idea the idea for the family god who has expectations for the family and god who has value attached to the family will not allow the devil to just take what he wants and walk away with it you see god would have given to us choice and the moment we use our choice and allow god to take our wills the devil has to back away the devil can only function when you would allow your choice to be used to use to be used by the devil to control your will but for us to break the shackles of the devil we have to change that now god has given to us choice use your choice to give god the opportunity the authority to control your will to control your will as husband to control your will as wife to control your will as a child in the home when that's deformed the basis upon which the family is built what a difference it will make because i've come to understand that we are so significant to god in god's image god likeness significant to god that god didn't just allow the devil to come steal that witch or destroy that which he would have established he sent his son and so now the conflict is between god and the devil over human your family over my family and yours what i love about that though when i surrender to god and i am saved by god i am not just saved from sin where as far as morality is concerned whatever sin follow me closely whatever sin would have destroyed grace restores i did this earth one more time in the whole context of family in god saved by god whatever sin would have destroyed grace would have restored and so for us then grace says to us quit listening to satanic thoughts don't just surrender to satanic challenges grace tells you that your family is destined for victory i'm saying some things here and i hope it's drilling being drilled down in your heart right now because there are some of us who are giving up on our families because challenges are coming we are giving up on our children because they are a little bit rebellious we are ready to get pack away our marriages because we just can't see eye to eye but if we are saved whatever sin would have destroyed grace can restore somebody needs to say amen grace can restore it and that's god's divine purpose for this series god wants to restore some things that were broken god wants to restore some things that the devil would have stolen god wants to restore some things that were killed by the devil and so we are told to go back remember back to the key text for this morning go back god said no remember and when i look at that the laws of moses i see the ten commandments and that's where that's where the advent message becomes so so pertinent because you see many other religious force forces uh seeking to tell us that the law is done away with and the ten commandments are no longer binding but if you look whether the ten commandments is not just a whole host of a whole list of don'ts and don'ts and don'ts there is a a a barrier being built around your family but i have discovered even among christians that barrier is not being taken note off and we are building other barriers that would easily be easily overtaken by the devil in the ten commandments i see i i see a the hierarchical flow to our family life the activities of our family life is not left up for the husband to decide it's not left up for the wife to decide or the children to decide the ten commandments tells us how we ought to relate in a hierarchical flow in our activities in the family if you look at the ten commandments the first four talks about to god the first four tells you where your source is at remember the first four people our source is god the first four tells us that our lives are rarely found in god i read a story or an article of a spider they call the bell spider the bell spider live underwater it finds all its food and such light down there and like unlike other creatures this bell spider has a bubble around it it is in the water can get what it wants in the water but not been overtaken by the water because a bell spider was designed that way the ten commandments they're now telling me that my family is designed to live within the bubble called god somebody hear me please how i function gonna be my life is found in god so the first four a large part of the ten commandments is about god our obedience to god and if we would but only step away from that we become like fish out of water you move away from god you're like fish out of water you're doing a whole lot of work beating up a whole lot but not going very far as a matter of fact the more you beat yourself up is it faster you die but going nowhere you start with god then the second the fifth commandment talks about family family so it's god first then family then you go to six to nine you get others and the last is things no that's a hierarchical flow to the christian way of living i need to say that please follow me god first family next others and then things but look what the devil has done the devil has caused many of us to flip the switch we go after things when things ought to be lost we are going after things first not you well to every man woman or child going after things first will be absorbed with self pursuing goals to satisfy self ignoring others and denying god that's where the devil wants you and we have to now come to understand that we have to put god first some time ago we were talking to a group of born-again christians and talking about family worship and some flimsy excuses were given well pastor times times have changed this one is working this time the other one is working the other time and we just don't have the time to to come together for for worship that is because you're going after things if you're going after things then god is not given priority and that's what the devil wants so the husband leaves the home without worship children go to school without worship wife is left alone struggling without worship and the devil knows hey a family that is not together that way he can worm himself in but if the hirackal flow to the family life is followed according to god's word that we believe in god god's ten commandments then let our activities that control our lives be given priority based on the order given in the holy bible god for us family next others after and things last you may be having some conflicts in your home right now because god is not given priority or you are giving others priority instead of family or you're going after things before family please allow that to be changed and if that's the case and i need to hurry to an end here now if that's the case there is one salient call for us today and that call is we need to go back to god we need to go back and reconnect we have to go back in order for us to be revived we have to go back we have to be reset the resetting the reviving and the reconnecting we have to go right back to god the family altar is absolutely necessary i've said all that i've said this morning to make that one point god got to be first in your family life we are losing our children because god is not first we are losing marriages because god is not first we are hurting each other because god is not placed first now the church in this series is calling us back to reconnect and reassess things in a given manner and the family altar is this where the source god the course and the force for success is given let me end with those three words please the altar the family altar gives us those three components the source god we are more than conquerors when we are in god we are victors when we are in god and the capacity to love the way god wants us to love can be hard because we are in god romans chapter 5 and verse 5 says god pours his love into our hearts by the means of the holy spirit so the source is god brother you can't be the kind of husband you ought to be you can't be the father that you ought to be without the source don't try to fulfill those sacred duties without being attached to the source wives you cannot be the kind of wife and mother you ought to be if you're not attached to the source children got to be attached just the same when you attach to the source that source takes you along a particular course is not what jeremiah says i know the plans that i have for you that's the course god wants to take your family you have been struggling with your own ideas with your own expectations and your own self-derived values god is saying now listen there is a cause be attached to the source so that the course can be understood but even when it is understood is not enough because our humanness will cause us to question the authority the accuracy and the acceptability of the course so there has to be a force the holy spirit comes now and drives you we surrender to the holy spirit and that is what family altar brings to be on the family then the bible ends up with this beautiful promise that god god takes over the force god takes over and he turns the father's hearts he turns parents hearts to the children he turns children's hearts to their to their parents parents you are struggling to get your children together in alignment with you the reason that is is because there are several ideas expectations and value that are humanistic in their thinking if only we would give god now the source the authority then certainly the course will be one that all of you will be involved in god says i will turn hearts turn hearts you might be you as a father you may have been trying to get your wife to comply trying to get your children to comply you as a mother try to get your children to comply and get your husband to comply we look for compliance but not you well the bible now tells us how god will do it god will connect with the heart we are losing in the family because the heart is not being connected to if only god takes over if only we allow god to take over he will do the connecting he will pour some love into your hearts brother for your wife he will pour some love in your heart wife for your husband he'll pour love into the parent's house for the children and vice versa god will do some things he will take over because he is the source he carries the course and he has the force for victory for your family life then let god be god in your family life do amen what a wonderful powerful timely message and you know it can't be underscored the pastor really said it brought it home god must be the center must be and and that's something that we need to keep in mind so as we leave you today we want to again do the theme song because we really want you to get involved in it and sing it along with us every week so we're going to do the theme song now growing up but through it all we can be sure that by his grace we'll endure revival families again reset our families again tell your neighbors and your friends their lives can be restored again the holy spirit is reconnecting all the broken parts of man so tell your family in this world some trials we can be sure that by his you set grace families again tell your neighbors and your friends their lives can be restored again the holy spirit is reconnecting with the broken hearts of men it's time to come to god against it's not just words this word is their lives can be restored again the holy spirit is reconnecting with the broken parts of
