[Music] and what's up this is Jake you're a Jake shop it's finally the day it's finally the day I get to shoot some paint on this car I have a buddy Fred coming over to basically help video it and and give me a hard time slash motivation I was up until about 11:30 last night finishing some final prepping and some final cleaning I'm gonna clean it again and we'll go into the video a little bit here in a minute but it's early it's like 6:30 in the morning which you know for me in a normal day is is definitely that it's it's it's 5:00 a.m. no problem but when you stay up till 11:00 work on your car at night 5:30 6 o'clock comes a lot faster so I'm gonna hit up a little coffee here trying straightening out my brain and my headache which I don't know I have because I was probably dreaming about painting all night we'll go through a lot of the process with this paint but here she is final sanded final everything I'm gonna wipe it down and clean it again and then after I you know clean the floor off again and wipe everything down on the floors and I'm gonna clean it again so that's just giving ID you can never never never clean enough but Fred will be here in about an hour so so I'm gonna finish cleaning a couple other things so it looks like I did a lot and we'll go on to the next clip and then obviously after I drink at least another one or two cups of coffee [Music] okay so I thought I'd go ahead and show you a little bit here next steps the cars been taped off and jammed previously but everything's been taped off to the jams I want to hide any seams that would potentially happen in the paint so obviously the front valance sits right there and underneath there is where I'm going to go ahead and run my jam line so those jams will get repainted I went ahead and scuffed them with 500 everything's been taped off to the floor to keep dust down kind of see where I'm running you know every single jamb will get painted in this car the doors have been jammed for the most part but I really wanted to hide sorry about the camera I really wanted to hide any seams so I'm gonna read jam those just got them scuffed up and cleaned up so the seam line will actually be under that rocker plate you won't see it unless you remove it and you really know what you're looking for insides of the door jams have been all painted and the hinges have been painted so that's a tricky part I might get a little over spray on some of that stuff but I can get in there clean it if I need to the doors have been jammed so I'm running my serie I'm running my tape lines inside of this scene to the door so those will get resprayed cleaned up same with the trunk I didn't want that scene in there could have probably run a seam in here but it was just easier to back tape it therefore there'll be no seen the jams have all been reefs cut onto the hood so it took the hood the trunk deck off mainly did so I could jam this thing a little bit better and hide any jam seams here's the rear decklid front hood front valence so those are off the car under sided deck lids been painted so that's all been that had been taped off and you can see I ran the tape team on the inside where that seem natural seam is there same thing with the hood all the edges of the hood will get redeemed but I ran my tape lines up inside underneath there so that's just a way to ensure that you know any potential seams are completely hidden I don't have enough room to take the doors off the car that's another option a lot of guys do but I kind of like the idea of keeping the doors on the car anyways I was talking to someone last night shoutout to reborn Camaro they're kids in the building a 69 Camaro doing a great job anyways doors are looking pretty good but you know if you do them off the car I need a lot more room and I kind of like the idea of not having to bolt the doors back on it and reach square them all up and potentially ding things it's really tricky doing these cars there's a million different ways to do all these panels and I think I've got a good weight here everything is looking like you know when your primer starts looking like glass like that you know you're getting somewhere so I'm gonna do another final wipe down you can see all mine that everything's back taped taped off pretty much ready to go so soon as Fred gets over there over here we'll do some video - oh another really cool thing found this on offer up actually paint shaker you know these things are a couple hundred bucks I think get them on a you know 300 for a duster ones like this this one came at the stand it got up to 40 bucks I sold the other thing it came with actually to a buddy of mine but um yeah perfect so I check up the sealer I can shake up my my paint heart like it said Harbor Freight sell something like this not nearly as nice I think it works I don't know still 100 and plus the box so but that was pretty cool I can just shake away so Fred and I are he'll come over next and do some more fun stuff okay Fred's here we've got the booth fairly clean almost final we're gonna wet the floors right before we go shoot some sealer I've got to mix some see her up in a second but first I was going to show this real quick tack cloths I've got two here need to break them out and let them breathe a little bit and get some error I've got some clean mixing buckets I'm gonna go ahead and throw them into these are key these are gonna go in between each step and we're gonna be surprised how much comes off of this actual every time we go to tack but we'll mix up some sealer I forget these breathing out we'll do one final wife to the car and fertile get some shots of actually shooting this car alright let's get these open up yeah they're really sticky which is exactly what you want so you want to break them up here let them breathe a little bit I bought a whole box them you know usually guys say you want to do a whole car I mean they will they're they'll just keep picking up a bunch of stuff so we're gonna open this thing up let it breathe it's like waxing any [Music] okay it's like that sit in there chill you didn't leave it on the table in bench - yeah [Music] all right on to the next step downtown we'll check in get buddy see after we shoot some sealer I imagine this will be black you'll end up getting water [Music] but for hallway the top here do you tylette that's enough sealer I don't know worst case will mix up more than that it's just one coat it should be plenty this is the hardest part right here not making a mess always use strainers you know on brand-new stuff yell at everybody click my friend Pete yeah no I don't need to do that he said he doesn't know what he's doing that oh yeah that guy's awesome but just like too which is kind of fun I think it's entertainment it's all in it it's very entertaining and he's way better at this tonight that's for sure you see why I built those little brackets you get my host stressed out and laid out for that cool eat some of those yeah or just take those after you're done Jake's custom paint booth we move into Fred's garage and the deal watch these are pretty decent brackets there's one thing that why am i paranoid about that what is it I don't know I'm thinking it's just white yeah yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] never do you reach in cake okay yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so here's two coats of base Fred's in here what's up breads a hot rat we got the professional in here telling me what to do watching me spray and screw up but overall this thing's looking really really good homemade paint booth and wetting floors and cleaning and doing everything right I got the third and final coat of base lights Triffids right there the lab coat necessary all coated fourth time but yeah I mean there's like no dirt in these panels no clear on these things yet well they got the filtration system going and you can see that hood it's gorgeous dude this thing's gonna look so good I'm getting excited now I'm getting excited look at that gorgeous all right I'll shoot some more bass and come back a little clearer all right third code of players on it was a long road and very tiring road it's 7:40 at night I went ahead and let the clear settle for at least an hour before I started spraying it again the camera's not going to do this justice but and these lights up in reality there is a ton of turul in there [Music] she needs some buffing because I suck and I've never actually done this before I did manage to run it pretty good couple spots see right there and right there look at that you know putting it on thick it's going to do that and it's probably better to run than get to light this has three solid coats of some really high-end clear on it the hood it doesn't show up on the camera there's a couple pieces of junk in it those will buff right out pretty minor but overall you know for my first one I'm pretty happy it's one of those things where I've never done this before so I didn't really know what to expect but that's okay see that in there in the jam a little dry that's the last coat I didn't hit it wet enough we got a buff that it's already got two coats underneath that top here I use a little bit of orange peel enter with there's another drip right there same spot you'll hand manage to do that I didn't get any drips down here on the sides which is usually where they're going to happen you know usually I see a lot of drips around the doors and these crevices and whatnot but I didn't manage to do that overall I'm really happy like I said it's definitely going to need some buffing I'm a novice but because this is a base clear and I've got three coats of really high-end clear on it it'll buff out nicely [Music] a little bit orange peel in there not horrible yeah the camera doesn't do the justice of this thing it just pops pops nice the base went on beautifully see you learn basement on beautiful is just the clear you know I'll probably getting tired Russian and then trying to make up for it by going slow and whatnot but it's in the clear you know clears no big deal that's the nice thing about a base coat clear coat job because I can come back and fix a couple things here and there but overall nothing major I'm gonna dam drips those are driving me nuts oh I didn't want to do that it's alright see there's no piece of junk right there I can't expect perfection I've never done this before but overall I should be really happy Fred said I should be happy and he's done this before let's go for it so hey if you like this video at all hit like and subscribe we'll keep doing updates on the car I get to take the masking off here soon after I buffer out and probably won't do a video on buffing I'm probably gonna have Fred Buffett because I've never buffed and I'm done with the paint I don't want to do this again I want to build the car I want to put the engine in I got the I got a bunch of really cool stuff for this car exhaust and just all the stuff that I do regularly not paint and body so onto the next thing catch you later thanks
