69 Camaro Orange Candy Part 2 (Herb da Rula)

all right six nine camaro ready to go first thing we're gonna do gray sealer uh next aqua base 3185 gray so we're gonna get one coat of that down and then we'll move on to the next step all right next up is our silver base coat we're using 89.89 off the shelf and the nexa aqua base systems just reduced and sprayed all right so we've got all our silver down we're technically ready for candy but when i do these cars especially the orange candies i like to add a little a little something to them so we're going to go through we're going to use one coat of dbc 500 we're going to mix in some house of color uh mini gold flake we're only going to put just a little bit on there the coarseness of that flake is about the same as the coarseness of this silver so it blends in real nice doesn't stand out uh but it'll give that little gold twinkle to it right in the street lights makes it look really hot so right now i'm going to get that mixed up i'll show you how to do that and we'll come back and we'll get one solid coat on it that's all it takes just a little bit all right for our flake coat what we're going to do is we're going to mix for every 100 parts by weight on the scale of dbc 500 we're going to add 0.2 parts of the mf01 mini gold flake so to start with we're going to mix about 400 milliliters in this cup because we do have to reduce it one to one so we need the volume to reduce it zeroed out there we'll go to 400 400 by weight which is also pretty close to 400 milliliters it's now 0.2 per 100 so we need 0.8 parts it doesn't have to be an exact science you can add as little or as much as you want we're going for just a little bit to twinkle against that silver all right so there's our 0.8 and our 400 parts now we can reduce this reducing by volume so 400 we're going to go to 800 would be at the top of that line so all right so we got this mixed up uh you want to keep this stuff moving you don't want it to settle all your metal flake will settle to the bottom and then you're going to get kind of a sporadic result also don't strain it pop out the screen out of the pps cup [Music] try to strain it you're liable to lose a lot of it then you're also going to get some sporadic results we've got everything i need ready we already got one batch on the gun we keep it upside down i don't want it to settle in the neck give it a couple good shakes right before we spray same with this one so let's get it on there all right time to mix our candy up we're still using the dbc 500 as our mid coat or candy coat so we're going to make us a batch of candy in this cup and then we're going to use a separate cup to reduce it as we go so normal recommendations what we're using as a sim candy concentrate and mandarin normal recommendation on this is eight to one i like to do this double strength that's what works well for me so we're going to do this four to one that way i can spray three coats to achieve the color i want versus six so save some paint and i already know how i want this color to be from the spray outs and previous experience so so we're going to use the four to one label that eight to the next eight all right we're gonna stir this up and then we're gonna mix this one to one and we'll be ready to start spraying [Music] [Music] so so [Music] so so all right time for clear coat we're gonna put three coats of vc 5700 on it and we're gonna call it a night so all right so there you have it everything's good and dry overnight um right now i'm gonna shut the lights off and i'll show you what it looks like with that flake all right now y'all see why i added that flake into this color really sets it off uh hopefully y'all learned something hopefully you enjoyed watching all this i'm gonna put uh everything in the description as far as the colors the materials what was done how many coats everything's gonna be in there so you can check it out if you're trying to do something like this on your own um look forward to part three part three we're gonna do the stripes and all the other stuff uh make it look like a real car and uh finish it all up so tap that like button subscribe for me uh y'all have a good one you
