Matthew's Gospel the twenty-fifth chapter and I want to call your attention if you would to the 1st through the 13th verses that st. Matthew the 25th chapter verses one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve and thirteen amen and when you have it say man the Bible gives us this intelligence then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom five of them were wise and five were foolish they that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps while the bridegroom tarried they all slumbered and slept Lord him midnight there was a cry made behold the bridegroom cometh though he thought to meet him then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps and the foolish said unto the wise give us of your oil in this four hour or going out they had some all in their lamps they just didn't bring any extra cars was burning but now they have gone out but the wise answered saying not so lest there be not enough for us and you but who you rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves while they went to buy the bridegroom came and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut after wood came also the other virgin saying to us but he answered and said verily I say unto you I know you not then Jesus gives us stark warning he says to those that would hear this parable watch therefore for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh watch therefore well you don't know that the day you don't know that power when the Son of man cometh and I want to look at that sixth verse and I want to say to you today behold the bridegroom cometh look at somebody close to you and just say behold the bridegroom come in with God gave his church to the world he came in power and he came it amended that mandate was to preach the gospel of repentance it was so that they would declare that the need for repentance was there because the kingdom of heaven was at hand this is the message that you see John the Baptist preaching amen down at the Jordan River he meant repent a man for the kingdom of heaven is at hand and not only John but you come and you see Jesus himself preaching to those that would hear repentance because the kingdom of heaven was at hand and brothers and sisters amen we are at a point now he meant where we've got to go back and like Jude said we've got to honestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the church we've got to go now and fight for that original mandate for that original doctrine he meant that declared that Jesus Christ was still able to change anybody's life to set him free and to deliver them and to then have them for walk and what is called the newness of life we've got to go back now amen and reestablish ourselves on the principles that we find in the word of our God amen so many people have gotten away from the message amen so many people have gotten away from the Monday hey man that now when we come to church we very rally very seldomly here say to us that Jesus is coming again as a matter of fact they meant how many times can you turn on Amen television and see somebody preaching about the fact that Jesus is coming again does it mean that he's not coming because people refuse the preacher no come to tell you today a man that he tells us in the 24th chapter that would be signs that you would be able to see and recognize as indicators that Jesus is coming soon and he says to us when you see all of these things come to pass because your Redemption draweth nigh him he's coming soon amen that's why I didn't matter amen how many times you come to church amen if the preacher priest Amen once a week that Jesus was coming again it would be very warranted because the reality is he is coming and he's coming back for a church without a spider wrinkle the bridegroom cometh and so what we've got to do now we've got to take out some time amen to tell people and to point them in the direction of what is called true biblical repentance amen what we see now as repentance really is not repentance it is simply an acknowledgement well God to bless my life but brothers and sisters when you talk about repentance as it is defined in the Word of God there can be no real repentance unless there is also turning away from [Applause] [Music] [Applause] but you gotta be willing to turn away from your sins means just come to church your secret don't tell nobody else but know that everybody that go to church and going I changed my mind tell everybody you can go to church and still I was just because you get in you better know him and you better know him for yourself so many people are going about to establish their own righteousness and they think that that's acceptable without truly being changed by God but sons and daughters it takes more than you just deciding to do better you've got to have the enabling power of God operating in your life for you to believe that's just coming to church and you [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] so you're telling me God can deliver you from one occasion I can't deliver you from cussing if the son makes you free you are free indeed well y'all gonna need me I don't know how about myself today gods that don't have deliver you please be patient with me going through with me head what are you gonna have to hurry up and get through cuz Jesus coming soon and when Jesus coming no saying going now see he's still working on me you don't have to work on you drag on the street Holy Ghost so as establishing our own righteousness it's not something that's gonna get us here religiously moral people are going to hell every day there is still a need to be right in the sight of God and not just in our own oh yeah Oh heaven me seems like the last hundred years have brought about a new phenomenon people now I know in the old days and and centuries ago people we know overboard but it seemed like now we going too far in the other direction now people are trying to discredit the truth of the word of God see that's why the Bible says to us as believers we've got the study to show ourselves approved unto God a workman that need not be ashamed but one who is able to rightly divide the word of truth uh-huh so when people start talking to you about what God meant as opposed to what he said you got to know this for yourself uh-huh some of y'all want me to holler and tune up so you can stay awake touch your neighbor and say wake up before he call your name I'm trying to get you in the heaven Bible says that in the latter times that would be a pain firing away and we're there right now you got people who are denying the fact that Jesus is coming again oh the Bible said they would be scoffers in the last day who would say where is the promise of his coming for since the father's fell asleep I've been preaching this stuff that passeth your granddaddy preached that Jesus was coming again and he still haven't come that don't mean he's not coming y'all getting quiet some of you tell people you're on your way able to get there is the fact that God is a long-suffering [Applause] but we got some work to do I was I was in class last semester when the religious class at all it was a history class and they started pulling out all ancient texts and do you know much of what we read in the Bible it's supported by ancient texts oh the account of Hezekiah is life is not only found in the scriptures you can read history ancient texts will tell you about the besieging of the city there's so much in this Bible that can be supported I'm not talking about with religious texts I'm talking about history of the wire will tell you this stuff actually happened and if it can support it and that tells me that this Bible is true and if this Bible is true then Jesus really is coming and not only that but he's coming soon so many people are rendering themselves unprepared because they're losing their ability to believe the fact that he's coming he's been gone 2000 years yeah I'll keep telling us can you tell me somebody that's been gone 2000 years it's coming again maybe he forgot about Chow he didn't forget about me he might have never knew you but he know me yeah he forgot about me he coming back for me the parable of the ten virgins let me hasten is that to remind us of the importance of keeping our lamps trimmed and burning brightly as we await the soon return of the Lord the Bible says there were ten virgins it does not distinguish among the ten other than to let us know that characteristic of either being wise or being foolish based on whether or not they carried oil with them in their vessels now we know that the oil the left itself had oil because the foolish said our lamps have gone out which means that they did burn for a while but they did not carry oil in their vessel in other words they were only depending on the oil that they already had in them Lord this is symbolic of self-righteousness if you're trying to make it based on the oil that you got within yourself you don't find that you're in sufficient you've got more than shat righteousness you have to have what is called the provisions of righteousness yo heaven what I'm trying to tell you the Y's they realize what I already got is not enough I need something MA but the foolish Bible says took their lamps but took no oil in their vessels they were trying to survive off of what they already had in their lamps and listen to what the Bible said the Bible says that because the bridegroom tarried meaning because he took longer than they found a word he all slumbered and slept and looked up those words slumbered and slept slumber did notes nodding you know like some of you you you you know when you when you fight it yeah and you've seen it with when when fatigue overtakes you you've seen people fight to keep ahead up and they don't want it to go this way they go too far the wrong way and that's what you call slumber right y'all gettin quiet it means to nod or to nap while he carrot fatigues started setting in and and everybody started nodding and napping but there that said they slept sleep happens when you stop fighting it you've seen people who they eyes was closed and you started to hear that slightest sound up that wind hitting up against the back of a throat and they wake up I was listening to you I heard everything you say you see people slumber and they can still engage you in a conversation because they were fighting it but when you go to sleep that's when you just take off the restraints and you're in a different place because he carried weariness started to take over everybody they thought he was coming sooner but because he tarried they got weary and they started to slap and they started to sleep oh the cry was made we read it in the sixth verse the cry was hard means look the bridegroom coming oh look at somebody tell him he's coming he's coming [Music] when they jumped up the foolish realize I didn't bring nothing extra with me I had to or that was already in the vessel I had my self-righteous this that's not enough they didn't have the profession is righteousness and when he came they were insufficient for the test he shows up the wise trimmed their lamps and the foolish said to the wise give us of your oil but notice what the way I said to them they said not so because if we give it to you that won't be enough for us I don't care what your father was you can use his righteousness don't care your daddy as the preacher you can't use his righteousness the Bible said the righteous will just scarcely be saying do that sound like you get down there righteousness he said no no let's not be not enough for us on you but go to them that cell and see if you can get some quick but the problem is the bridegroom is here now you know when Jesus comes back the Bible says he's coming as a thief in the night in the twinklin if you think you're gonna be able to rip when he cracked those clouds you are sadly mistaken that's the reason why we have to preach that you can't play around but that you've got to be ready when Jesus shows up like you got the years you can be traps when he , and he'll leave you right here playing your tambourine wouldn't that be something if we entrust shout when Jesus come and the musicians are saved and he snatched the musicians the choir said he snatches the quad and you shout he will come leave you with Josh's uniform Iona if you ain't save you better be ready when he comes and the Bible said while they were going to try to get some oil bridegroom came and they shut the door and when they felt like they were ready they came and not but everybody that was in the procession is already inside and the reason they closed the doors were to keep out intruders and people who were not supposed to be a part of the festivities and so if you are supposed to be here you came in with the party everybody else on the outside is just an impostor and now this open the door and talk to you you don't know how it is when people come to your house that you didn't expect that's why you got a peep rolling and the ring video doorbell and and if you don't know them what do you do you're gonna either go back to your couch and sit down and finish watching the broadcast of deliverance are you gonna talk to them through the door who is it man yeah and the Bible said when they not he stop opening your remember win-win-win-win Noah kept ten listen it's gonna rain and people saw all these animals going into this big boat that ain't even down by the shore I guess they gonna bring the water to the boat this time but the Bible said God said that's enough told Noah to get your family get on this boat and the Bible said that when they were secured on the boat God shut the door and God's got to shut it because it know how to shut it with not knocking he would open it compassion God says that's not the Bible said that he answers them through the door and said listen here you said open unto us but everybody that's supposed to be here is already inside I never knew you and Jesus says listen you got a watch there for because you don't know the day nor the hour when the son of man does come I was looking Luke 21 34 and 35 says and take heed to yourselves lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life so that they come upon you unawares whereas a snap shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth you've got to keep yourself discipline who else this day is gonna catch you unprepared I don't care if you're licensed I don't care if you are Dave you have a responsibility to keep yourself discipline to watch so that this day does not catch you unawares and you can no bible scriptures you can teach Sunday School you can be the head of an artillery and you still have to watch what this day is gonna catch you unprepared look way up 35 and 36 says let your loins be girded about and your life's burning and you yourselves like unto me and that wait for the Lord when he will return from the wedding that when he cometh and knocking they may open unto him immediately revelation 16 and 15 says behold I come as a thief blessed is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments lest he walk naked and they see his shame Luke 12 37 blessed are those servants whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching verily I say unto you that he shall gird himself and make them to sit down to me and will come forth and serve them what is he saying to us we've got to forget about the cares of this world and make sure we're right and ready when Jesus come he's not coming in the clouds for everybody but if he comes for you personally he's still okay you got some folks that we're looking for him to come in the clouds and they still win by way of the grave and people mocked at him and said tie my Grandmamma sat down and told us a whole life Jesus was coming and she thought she was going up in the rapture and she ended up dying no grandmother didn't waste her time as a matter of fact Paul said I need you to know that those of us that are alive and remain we shall not prevent them that are asleep for the dead and Christ shall rise first he's still coming for her you just better make sure petit you are ready you know I was sitting at office this morning and I felt the Lord impressing on my heart my mind started turning and I heard God say to me this morning he said go and you must tell them those that I have blessed those that have enjoyed my favour to be watchful because so many times I've seen God bless people and then they turn and forget that it was God but it was all about your hands sure yeah you've got a new car but what is that compared to your soul I've seen people as long as they rode the church bus they will faith for the church but as soon as God blessed them with their own form of transportation now you don't see them y'all getting quiet here you don't see them anymore hope that didn't have anything didn't have a place to stay no what they were faithful a God and serving God but as soon as God blast them now you know how to see him no more shall I had some stuff around the house I needed to do today but he's coming like a thief and the sad thing is he tells us you can't go and get ready when he comes because while they were trying to get themselves ready the bridegroom came they went into the marriage supper and he shut the door somebody here today you think that's all you need is to go to church and pay my tithes I joined the choir got home the greeters bored I'm thinking about being usher but how does that make you ready see when he comes he's not going to be like some of us that give people passes and you've been there when you call people ahead of time say I'm on my way oh I'm ready and when you get there you still got to blow the horn seven times and they come out twelve and a half minutes later I just have to put on my shoes and you know what some of us would do we'll sit right there for twelve and a half minutes while they putting on shoes but when Jesus comes he's not waiting on you to put on your shoes he's not waiting on you to go and find somebody to buy your all from you got to make sure that when he comes you're ready to go how many of you today can say I'm ready to go a lot of people are scared there's a timid they don't want the rapture to take place they don't want to die because they read it for nothing ain't ready to die and then I read it becoming the clouds what a miserable life to live you means you would go to church and still scared to go to sleep at night because you don't know if Jesus is coming why don't you go to church I'm gonna tell you what gets me because everybody now it's claiming Christianity just like these ten virgins everybody says we're believers now and I've seen people live their whole lives going to somebody's church they have no standard of living they do what they want to do they even talk about people who do have a standard but they declare that they are so saved but I've seen those same people when they come to die start calling the church and say can you send somebody out of there to pray with me if you don't lived your whole life like that now you need somebody to come lead you do the sinner's prayer before you take your last breath what were you in church all that time for if you didn't have an assurance that when you died you were going with the Lord when he called your name that was a sister that went through stretch I loved her I used to talk to all the time and and and and and they tell me when she came to die she knew she was ready to go home and she just told her well I guess that's it yeah guess is it that's somebody that was ready to meet the Lord if he were to call you and touch you today are you ready because there's a difference in the way Saints die and the way sinners die I've seen I've seen them both die I've seen people die they kick it in the bed and screaming and cussing and doing all kind of stuff and then I've seen people smiling and speaking in tongues on my way home if he came through the grave for you would you be ready if he cracked those clouds would you be ready he said you've got to watch because you don't know when he's gonna call your name but I feel healthy in my body I'm just 37 you better make sure that you are ready behold the bridegroom cometh he's coming to snatch those that are ready to be with him in the air and if you're not ready how many words you think you can say in a moment in the twinkling of an eye can you muster up enough sincerity to repent in a moment in the twinkling of an eye go ahead and try it you missed it that quick it was over he says watch cuz you don't know when he's coming stand to your feet everybody if today you can say I don't know if I'm ready I can tell you now you're not because if you're ready that's not something you guess about if you're ready that's not something you're confused about you know you really if your salvation hasn't given you any assurances then I'm sorry to report to you that you're not saved salvation is not something you guess about it's not something you think it's a fact and he's coming for those that have made themselves ready I won't ever head bowed and every eye closed I recognize that it takes courage in order to change it takes an amazing amount of courage to decide to walk away from everything that this world can offer and to say yes to the Lord and so many people will still say well I'm just I don't I don't think I'm ready right now do you know how old you are I tell you I turned 41 this year I can remember 35 years ago I can remember and anytime you can say stuff like 35 years ago I was that means you got a lot of time behind you I was a child 35 years ago some of you were already grown and if I can't use that as an excuse neither can you if you don't know him this is your chance I want you to step out of that role step into that aisle and I want you to meet me at this altar behold the bridegroom cometh he's coming and somebody needs to be ready I want you to come start coming from whatever you are if you don't know him this is your chance I can't make you do anything but I'm giving you this opportunity come on you and the rise says I'll wait till you get here tired of playing games tired of playing I'm tired of pretending that it's all together I got a lamp like everybody else I got a lamp like everybody else but I wonder how much longer to be before they figure out I don't have no oil just looking saved and enough talking like you go to church is not enough hanging Church calendars on your cubicle wall is not enough your screensaver says hallelujah praise the Lamb but that's not enough come on somebody else needs to come come on he's coming and whether he splits the clouds or whether he calls you home you gotta understand he is coming somebody else is here if you're afraid to walk that al I want you to grab somebody by the hand and ask him if they'll walk you this way they'll do it but when you get here you got to repent that means not only to say to God I'm sorry but with the intent of turning away from sin come on if there's another come come come I'm calling you I'm calling you out of that place come on come on somebody's coming hallelujah come on young man come on young lady I gotta make sure I'm ready I gotta make sure that I'm right come on hallelujah thank you lord is there another I don't want you to miss this chance I don't want you to miss this opportunity if you're here why don't you come or I gotta be ready those of you at the salt I want you to understand that this is the best decision you've ever made the decision to serve the Lord is the absolute best you have ever made and I want you to know today the Bible says that if you'll come to him he will in no wise cast you out people disappoint but he said I won't cast you out you believe that do you believe that but if you ask him he'll come in and do for you what you're asking him to do if you're ready to surrender your life to Him I want you to lift your hands I want you to talk to God and I want you to mean it from the very bottom of your heart I want you to open your mouth and say Lord I'm so sorry for everything that I've done that it wasn't like you asked him not come in and deliver me set me free ask him lord baptize me with the Holy Ghost and come oh he's looking for a commitment from you just tell him Lord when you do it today I'll live for you for the rest of my life and if you really believe it God is doing it now elders would you come come on just believe it believe it oh that's it hallelujah [Music] hallelujah or I'll take you Jesus he's coming in
