in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen the lord be with you and with your spirit in today's gospel jesus reminds his disciples about the right conduct toward recognizing the faults of others jesus does not prohibit contracting those who are or are in a sinful state the governing thought of jesus is that passing judgment should be done in the spirit of prayer great humility compassion and love hypocrites are concerned only with the splinter of one's eye and do not recognize their own self-blinding plank do we humbly recognize our scenes and errors do we pass judgment with arrogance and pride brethren let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries i confess to almighty god and to you my brothers and sisters that i have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what i have done and what i have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most grievous fault therefore i ask blessed mary ever georgian all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the lord our god may almighty god have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life amen lord have mercy lord have mercy christ have mercy christ have mercy lord have mercy lord have mercy foreign [Music] [Music] foreign let us pray grant us o lord we pray that the course of our world may be directed by your peaceful rule and that your church may rejoice and troubled in her devotion through our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever amen a reading from the book of sira when a sieve is shaken the husks appear so do one's fault when one speaks as the test of what the potter molds is in the furnace so in tribulation is the test of the just the fruit of a tree shows the care it has had so too the swan speech disclosed the bend of one's mind praise no one before he speaks for it is then that people are tested the word of the lord thanks be to god lord it is good to give thanks to you lord it is good to give thanks to you it is good to give thanks to the lord to sing praise to your name most high to proclaim your kindness at dawn and your faithfulness throughout the night lord it is good to give thanks to you the just one shall flourish like the palm tree like a sadder of lebanon shall he grow they that are planted in the house of the lord shall flourish in the courts of our god lord it is good to give thanks to you they shall bear fruit even in old age vigorous and sturdy shall they be declaring how justice the lord my rock in whom there is no wrong lord it is good to give thanks to you a reading from the first letter of saint paul to the corinthians brothers and sisters when these witches corruptable clothes itself with incorruptibility and this which is mortal clothes itself with immortality then the word that is written shall come about death is swallowed up in victory where o death is your victory where o death is your sin the seeing of death is sin and the power of sin is the law but thanks be to god who gives us the victory through our lord jesus christ therefore my beloved brothers and sisters be firm steadfast always fully devoted to the work of the lord that in the lord your labor is not in vain the word of the lord thanks be to god hallelujah [Music] oh [Music] the lord be with you and with your spirit a reading from the holy gospel according to luke glory to you o lord can a blind jesus told his disciples a parable can a blind person guide a blind person will not both fall into a pit no disciple is superior to the teacher but when fully trained every disciple will be like his teacher why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own how can you say to your brother brother let me remove that splinter in your eye when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye you hypocrite remove the wooden beam from your eye first then you will see clearly to remove the splinter in your brother's eye a good tree does not burn rotten fruit nor does a rotten tree burn good fruit for every tree is known by its own fruit for people do not pick figs from torn bushes nor do they gather grapes from brambles a good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks brothers and sisters the good news of our salvation praise to you lord jesus christ good afternoon brothers and sisters good afternoon father says [Music] [Music] [Music] can a blind person guide a blind person how can you say to your brother brother let me remove that splinter in your eye when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye so in problem is not the splinter in our brother's eyes siguroder actually in reality the problem is not in the other or in other persons the problem is not coming from the outside the problem is coming from within us i'm starting with the man in the mirror i'm asking him to change his ways and no message could have been any clearer if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make a change which literally means no one can give [Music] start with yourself start with yourself if you want to change the world go and change yourself to see the real source the origin the cause of the problem in the young lagita young fault finder playing the blame game subbing upon [Music] him looking for someone to blame and blaming represents immaturity immature because you have self-awareness which lead leads to self-correction and that is the awareness of one's own shortcomings it makes us mirror or more forgiving of others failures and more credible as leaders so make it makes one humble not self [Music] we have to remove our biases in order to learn from others so we have to be humble enough to accept that we have our own weaknesses we also have our own brokenness our own vulnerability so we need to check ourselves also and that is self-check so you have to check yourself can a blind person guide a blind person jesus poses this question and also he gives the answer god we all have splinters in our own eyes our view is colored by biases in our personal baggages so how can we be natural guides and neutral observers when we do not consider ourselves higher than any teacher when we regard others as equals when we notice the splinter in the other's eye while at the same time admitting the wooden beam in our own eyes then we can be guides for one another it is said we are all angels the problem is that is we each have only one wing so we can fly only by holding on to one another when i was a formator in the seminary madelaspu i'm faced with a lot of cases problems with seminarians like my nagloko my pumalpak but as a formator kapagnaki takoyamaganon lagging my consideration lagging my second chance third chance pay because i already i also had my own splinter in my own eyes so my dear brothers and sisters stand in front of the mirror and ask yourself to change your ways if you want to change the world a better place if you want to make it a better place take a look at yourself and then make a change because you cannot give what you do not have amen amen i believe in one god the father almighty maker of heaven and earth of all things visible and invisible i believe in one lord jesus christ the only begotten son of god born of the father before all ages god from god light from light true god from true god begotten not made consubstantial with the father through him all things were made for as man and for our salvation he came down from heaven and by the holy spirit was incarnate of the virgin mary and became man for our sake he was crucified under pontius philia he suffered dead and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures he ascended into heaven and seated at the right hand of the father he will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end i believe in the holy spirit the lord the giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son who with the father and the son is adored and glorified who was spoken through the prophets i believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come amen let us pray to our heavenly father that we may see his son jesus among sinners and look upon them with mercy and compassion with humility and trust we pray lord listen to our prayer lord listen to our prayer me pope francis bishops priests deacons and all church leaders see their ministry not as a peer over anyone but as humble service for god's people we pray lord listen to our prayer may those who govern our country become conscious of their role as stewards of god's people who encourage and recognize the potentials and talents of their constituents we pray lord listen to our prayer may we live patiently by bearing each other's imperfections and at keeping a list of faults and failures of others we pray lord listen to our prayer may we receive the sacrament of reconciliation often so that we can build a community that cultivates the healing power of god's compassion we pray lord listen to our prayer may medical and health care professionals and social workers is the pain and burden of the sick the handicop the elderly the depressed and those who are undergoing different forms of crisis in life we pray lord listen to our prayer for our beloved dead that through the saving mercy of god they may reach eternal life we pray lord listen to our prayer let us pray for the urgent concerns of our community and our personal intentions we pray lord listen to our prayer listen to the prayers of your children lord grant us the capacity to forgive from our hearts so that we may be one with you who live and reign forever and ever amen [Music] me [Music] me [Music] is pray present that our sacrifice may be acceptable to god the almighty father may the lord accept the sacrifice of your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church let us pray oh god who provide gifts to be offered to your name and count our oblations as signs of our desire to serve you with devotion we ask of your mercy that what you grant as the source of merit may also help us to attain merits reward through christ our lord amen the lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we leave them after the lord let us give thanks to the lord our god it is right and just truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for when your children were scattered afar by sin through the blood of your son and the power of the spirit you gathered them again to yourself that a people formed as one by the unity of the trinity made the body of christ and the temple of the holy spirit might to the praise of your manifold wisdom be manifest as the church and so in company with the choirs of angels we praise you and with joy we proclaim [Music] foreign [Music] oh [Music] you are indeed holy o lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore this gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the jewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith [Music] um [Music] therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life in the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy spirit remember lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity together with francis our pope florentino our bishop and all the clergy remember your servant jose pepe whom you have called from this word to yourself grant that he who was united with your son in a death like his may also be one with him in his resurrection remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of rising again and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the blessed virgin mary mother of god with saint joseph her spouse with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have placed you through all the ages we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son jesus christ through him with him and in him in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours almighty father [Music] and forever with faith and confidence let us now pray to our father in heaven through the very words our lord jesus christ gave us [Music] is [Music] foreign me me foreign [Music] me [Music] deliver us lord we pray from every evil graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our savior jesus christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever lord jesus christ who said to your apostles peace i leave you my peace i gave you look not on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will who live and reign forever and ever amen the peace of the lord be with you always and with your spirit let us offer each other the sign of peace peace be with you [Music] king [Music] you [Music] me [Music] behold the lamb of god behold him who takes away the sins of the world blessed are those called to the supper of the lamb lord i am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the word and my soul shall be healed the body
