rejoice before you as at the harvest as people make merry when dividing spoils for the yoke that burdened them the pole on their shoulder and the rod of their taskmaster you have smashed as on the day [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] me [Applause] foreign [Applause] oh [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] god [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the lord be with you and with your spirit a reading from the according to luke glory to you o lord [Applause] each year jesus's parents to jerusalem for the feast of passover and when he was 12 years old they went up according to festival custom after they had completed its days as they were returning the boy jesus remained behind in jerusalem but his parents did not know it in that he was in the caravan they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances but not finding him they returned to jerusalem to look for him after three days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of the teachers listening to them and asking them queens and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers when his parents saw him they were astonished and his mother said to him son why have you done this to us your father and i have been looking for you with great anxiety and he said to them why were you looking for me did you not know that i must be in my father's house but they did not understand what he said to them he went down with them and came to nasa and was obedient to them and his mother kept all these things in her heart and jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before god and man [Applause] the gospel of the lord praise to you lord jesus christ please remain standing [Applause] [Music] [Applause] thank you uh my dear god celebrants beloved brothers in christ my dear people of god disabled servants and the other members of the priestly community today as we celebrate the feast of the santo nino allow me to join you in proclaiming biba pete senor biba senor let us look at the inmates of the child jesus and pray that he bless us and help us to be like him in spite of the problems in spite [Music] of this situation about which we are afraid to be included christ a child a person absolutely dependent fully incapable totally in need yet solable very acceptable and doubtlessly admirable this santoninio and image of a real person jesus christ our savior and our redeemer true god and true man who in his beginning became an infant yet fully a person [Applause] who in his beginning in his earlier age was a child he is the focus of our reflection today the point [Applause] of our thought and the issue of our meditation allow me my brothers and sisters to invite you all of you to look at the image of senor santo nino hold it in your arms raise it up above your face and look look straight to its eyes he said he lovable my brothers and sisters our reflection this morning invites us to see in this image that the child jesus is dependent on us the child jesus so great so precious so lovable a child we hold firmly many times on the pattern is it the image looks dependent and seems to avoid the fact of getting lost yet in the gospel today jesus the child was lost during their pilgrimage the pilgrimage of joseph and mary to jerusalem my brothers and sisters the child jesus holds on to us and many at times our reaction is to hold on him and the child teaches us to rely on others the senor santo nino teaches us today to be humble my brothers and sisters if santo nino gives us the example of humility then we look at us my brothers and sisters we need almighty god and we need other people our neighbors the doctors the nurses and everybody taking care our physical welfare don't you know that the lord said once upon a time the greatest among you who serves said jesus our lord which we find in the gospel according to saint matthew chapter 23 verse 11 let us reflect on our very selves more particularly in this stage of our earthly life yes we are mindful and many times fearful yes we are afraid of the pandemic because it can strike us whether we are conscious or not it can hit us my brothers and sisters as we celebrate today the feast of senor santo nino let us invite ourselves to reflect and to meditate upon two great things number one this santo nino teaches us to be humble to practice the virtue of human humility and secondly the next the senior santo nino teaches us about the virtue of charity love my brothers and sisters in christ let me invite you once more to look upon these two virtues if indeed we are practicing them number one the virtue of humility and the virtue of charity love my brothers and sisters the inmates of senor santo nino and the gospel today in this mass teaches us humility and what is humility if not the feeling the acceptance of us that we are nothing that we are dependent that we need almighty god that we need other people our neighbors to be with us this moment too i invite you to remember that santo nino teaches us about charity the virtue of love let us go first to the virtue of humility the feeling and the thinking that we need almighty god we are sinners absolutely nothing looking at the image of the child jesus and searching out about our situation today my brothers and sisters we have to practice humility we are dependent of one another and the lord tells us the greatest among you will be the one who serves my brothers and sisters we pray for those who are sick who have been contaminated with the frailty and weakness of kovid of delta and omicron it is frightening and yet we continue praying on almighty god grant us this strength to be able to hold on to your love and greatness even if we are in the danger of being contaminated because the chairman is airborne my brothers and sisters like the child jesus lost in jerusalem like him who was being looked after by mary and joseph troubled absolutely conscious that the child was yet the child jesus was there inside the temple teaching and discussing with the doctors of the law my brothers and sisters jesus teaches us that we need almighty god that in this situation in which we find ourselves today we need other peoples the doctors the nurses all those who are dedicating themselves to the healing and the cure we need our brothers and sisters even to comfort us to be beside us at this moment in which our fearfulness is immense so great my brothers and sisters the virtue of humility is not only thinking that we are dust that we are nothing and yet the virtue of humility uplifts us to the great commandment that in the letter to the philippians has emptied himself brothers and sisters we owed we should empty ourselves in order to become humble let us start emptying ourselves of public high no pretensions of all delusions of greatness we need the santo nino to invite us so that we dedicate ourselves our very lives to the practice of humility my brothers and sisters jesus our lord the child jesus is a child an infant who needs other people in our state of life we need people and especially in this situation of today we need all of you we need all of them to help us but more than the help they can give us it is also their love their dedication and their prayers that we get well and that will be outside of the common termination brothers and sisters look at the child jesus di santo nino he is an image of dependence we never think in order not to think that we can do everything all of everything that we need we don't need anybody to be helping us yes we need the help of other people to indicate to us that we are helpless without them and finally saint paul in his first letter to the corinthians tells us about the greatness of commandments charity love and saint paul rights love is passion love is kind love does not bear evil thoughts about others and yet first or all love is passion look at the child jesus when we hold the image of the child jesus in our arms when we look at his face engage upon the image of santo nino essence di santo nino solabol so great that we are invited to love him and yet this antonino teaches us to love also our neighbor as we love ourselves are we doing this my brothers and sisters in the love for our fellow human beings we do not need any pretension we need only god and we need also to be reminded that unless we love our neighbor we cannot be pleasing to almighty god yes the senior santorini so loving solabor indicate to us that the greatest commandment is the commandment to love true to love almighty god with all our hearts with all our minds and with all our strength yet almighty god has also indicated to us that we should love our fellow human beings love your neighbor as yourself and that the lord himself has indicated to us there is no greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends are we invited can we do this to lay down our lives for our their people as jesus christ has laid down his life for each and every one of us my brothers and sisters if we raise the child jesus before our face and before our eyes when we look at this and your sun to dino we are invited to smile and to say i love you senor santo nino and if we say i love you then they send your son to ninja will tell us be mindful also of loving your fellow human beings and if you are married the first person whom you ought to love is your partner for life your husband if you are a wife and if you are a husband your wife raise her up love her serve her and indicate to your wife not only your love but also your dedication may this feast of the senior santo nino help us to grow in the virtue of charity that we are all dependent not only this period and this situation of pandemic but the senior something is also teaching us to be lovable and to be lovable we smile yes we only smile with the people we love but we are invited by senor santorini to smile to every person and to indicate to them i love you in the same way that jesus hanging on the cross has said also look at me this is the sign of my love for you i am giving you my life my very self senor santo nino help us all in this moment that we are celebrating your fist help us to be humble and to love our fellow human beings in the same way that we love you amen [Music] uh please rise and we recite from there he will come to judge delivery and the dead i believe in the holy spirit the holy catholic church the communion of saints the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body and life [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] me [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] pray my brothers and sisters that my sacrifice and yours be made except the almighty father may the lord accept his sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church god our creator we offer the gips of bread and wine to recall the childhood of your only son let our offering become the sacrifice of him who brought forgiveness and peace to the world grant this through christ our lord god the lord be with you in your spirit [Music] [Music] it is truly right and just our duty and our salvation always and everywhere to give you thanks lord holy father almighty and eternal god for in the mystery of the word made flesh a new light of your glory as shown upon the eyes of our mind so that as we recognize in him god may be symbol we may be caught up through him in love of things in the sea ball and so with angels and archangels with thrones and dominions and with all the horse and powers of heaven we sing the hymn of your glory us without them we are acclaimed [Music] god [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you are indeed holy oh lord the fount of all holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like they do fall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and gave you thumbs he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you you may see me similar way when supplemented he took the chalice and once more giving thumbs he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and the mystery of faith [Music] [Music] therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of christ we may be gathered into one by the holy
