what's up guys today i've got a review for you it is the fcpx full access ultimate pack have you seen this advertised to you i keep seeing it on youtube and i'm a sucker for stuff like this basically it's a pack of a ton of titles generators transitions luts and effects i just want you to know that this video is not sponsored i paid for this pack with my own money i've installed it on my system and i've combed through every single item except for like all the luts there's a lot of luts and today i'm just going to kind of go over for you some of the high points and low points of this pack and then at the end of the video i am going to give you my final thoughts on it let's just start with titles here i'm going to start here with the 3d camera tiles this is one that's actually not a text effect it's one of the kind of titles that works as a transition i'm just going to drop this into my timeline so you can see how it works this is the effect this title just works with drop zones so that's how that looks but what i did notice was that if you wanted to make the action happen faster and you shrunk down the title look the motion goes away it doesn't work anymore so not crazy about that one this one here cinematic tracking title it's just tracking text with a glow effect and then it fades out um another thing that kind of drives me crazy about this pack and other packs like this is that i've got like a whole folder under my titles and it just has this one element in it i have to scroll around so much when i have so many titles and plugins on my system so that just kind of really annoys me here's another one that i actually thought was kind of nice this is called clean line titles and they just have these really clean effects i have to say those are not bad um another one that i thought might actually be really helpful is this documentary timeline which is pretty cool if you look under the inspector window you can change the colors of these and obviously the years and i just think this might come in handy for some projects of mine i've had to do timelinefx before and i kind of wish i had this plug-in another one i really really like is this message simulator where you can simulate an iphone message i think this is great another interesting one is this iphone screen so there's a bunch of iphones that will fly in and then you can through a drop zone change what is inside the phone and then you have to change let's say because obviously this is a horizontal video you can play with the scaling on the x and y to get it to fill your frame you can't lock the x and y values together so you get a lot of distortion here it's definitely something that i wish they had just locked these two values together so you didn't have to worry about making someone look too wide or too skinny but here's how that works and you can turn the background on or off on that another one i think could be really helpful is this one here keyboard keys if you do tutorials like i do online these are kind of nice because you can tell people what the shortcuts are for any of the instructions you're giving them here's another effect a way to affect your video but it's in the titles bin let me just drop this over some b-roll just to show you what it does and it's that kind of like strobi motion blur like a very slow shutter speed effect but if you look here when you select it in your timeline in the inspector window there are no adjustments to be made this next one i really really like it is a google search generator this is something i would typically make using a screen recording um so i don't have to do that anymore i do like this a lot as long as google doesn't change their logo this is gonna work really well for me so i like this one very much another one here are the social icons these are nice animations and over here in the inspector window there's a drop down for all the different social media platforms you might expect to see and then you can turn on or off that little notification pop-up um you can change the number of notifications obviously change the handle and it's pretty customizable you can also turn off the background this one i really like it is the video call grid so you can simulate a zoom call and again these work with drop zones so you can drop in different images of people you can have up to six speakers this is the gallery mode they have one that simulates speaker mode and there's a ton of customization you can do in here i actually think this is a really helpful great title and then there's a couple of youtube specific elements here as well this one here is a youtube subscribe button it's not amazing if you want some really great free subscribe buttons for your youtube channel go to jengar.com i have a download with a three pack of subscribe now buttons you might really like so head on over to jennjager.com if you want that it's totally free now let's look at the effects i have a bunch of b-roll shots here that we're just gonna play with they're very random let's first start with 3d space adjustment this is actually a very important effect if you don't have something like this already in your toolbox basically this 3d space adjustment allows you to rotate not just on the z-axis but on the x and y-axes and honestly that's a pretty basic function that for whatever reason doesn't come with final cut and i can't understand that just to show you let's head down to transform and the rotation here there's no drop down it's just z that's all you get so to have this 3d space adjustment is in my opinion a very necessary plug-in there's a bunch of them online it's not hard to find you don't need to buy this whole pack to find one another one i wanted to show you is this disclosure face effect you guys what this is i have no idea it's just this like wriggling skeleton this like biker guy i i don't understand i don't know why you need this somebody must have made this for a very specific purpose but i'm not sure that very specific person i don't know i in my world i don't have a place for these another one i want to show you is called dramatic strobe it just makes things flash on and off they have smooth ones so it fades in and out you don't need a plug-in to do that you could just you could just use the transition tool and fade to black in final cut so i don't know i don't know why you need that um another one here is grid assembly these ones i actually kind of like i do like split screen effects so what you would do to use these is you would layer two shots over one another and then add on the corresponding effects so this one here says two grid dash one two grid dash two so i'm gonna drop number one on the top clip and number two on my bottom clip and then within the inspector window i can make adjustments to the position and i can change the width of the border and you would need to do that on both clips in order to see the width change one thing that's missing from these split screen effects for me is that they don't build in or out and in other packs that i'm used to using particularly from stupid raisins you can have builds in and build out effects on the split screens and you can actually turn those on or off with the stupid raisins packs so i don't love that about what's in here i'm definitely feel like i'm missing that if you're interested in those stupid raisins ones i'll link to them below all right now we're heading on over to transitions let me show you some of the transitions that come with the fcp x full access ultimate pack that is a mouthful isn't it let's first look at the distorted tile warp again i'm not going to show you every single one but i do want to kind of just give you an overview of anything that's a little bit interesting particularly good or particularly bad these are tile warps this one is tile warp 7. it's very funky here's one here tile warp nine pretty intense let's head down to fast shift drop this here these are some really dramatic transitions my personal style of editing is less is more so these kinds of like over-the-top transitions very very rarely get used by me now let's head down to seamless slide transitions i'm going to drop this between these two shots again these are very dramatic moves and finally let's go down to the zoom transitions and let's drop this in these ones i actually like so much more they're just tighter and it almost feels like a really fast camera move instead of a post-production effect so this pack is definitely going to stay in my toolbox for sure and then the last part of the fcpx full access ultimate pack is of course the luts you guys i'm not gonna do like a whole what application there are so many let's let me just show you the folder to give you the idea of how many let's are in this pack so you've got 22 folders of luts and then within each folder there's like way more let's so in this one folder there's 14 so there are so many luts in this pack if you are into luts you are going to be very happy so what do i think of the fcpx full access ultimate pack i have to say it feels like such a mishmash of stuff there's not a lot of stuff in this pack that's gonna stay on my computer there were a few winners for me but not a ton of them not enough where i feel like i can recommend this pack to you it's like they just bundle together whatever they could find without thinking about the editor that they're really trying to reach with these products because some of them are great for like someone who's trying to edit like action movies and then others are good for people with corporate video experience but like there's not a lot of overlap there and i just don't know that this pack is really worth it um i feel like i had better luck with the studio planet pack and i will link my video review of that pack below if you're curious about it again that was another one that just felt very cobbled together but there was more in there for me that i felt like i would use so those are my thoughts on the fcpx full access ultimate pack if you enjoyed this video let me know by giving me a thumbs up uh drop a comment in the comment section i want to hear your thoughts hit that subscribe button and i'll see you guys again
