Exploring an Abandoned 1990's Movie Theater with Power !

[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] what's going everybody today we're exploring an abandoned movie theater clearly a place that i really haven't explored i've explored a couple of movie theaters but they're relatively old this is one that looks like it was probably made in the 1990s and visually that stays true we're gonna walk around you know what to expect i haven't actually been to a movie theater in but feels to be like years because of this whole covid thing and honestly i don't know when the next time i will be in one because these places are just kind of filled with germs don't really make me feel too safe anymore especially with what's going on which is sad but this is like a nostalgic place so if you guys enjoy get those nostalgic vibes give a thumbs up and let's go check it out jackson over here get in the shot show the size of this room got the blueprints to the place right here pretty simple you see the theater layout one two three four five six seven eight nine ten theaters gonna check out most of them maybe just a few because they'll just be copy and paste of each other but i've noticed that some have power so it'll be pretty interesting to look at these places we'll just walk down this whole corridor retro i feel like this was built at least in the 90s i love the tiling and everything i'm gonna look behind the uh the refreshment table for the uh movie theater nothing crazy just oven probably be here or friar we'll step foot in this theater here smells really bad in here this is actually one of the smaller ones probably the smallest i love the design on the wall there this is where they would have titles posters hanging up nothing here now wow that's a really big vault in there so i'm blasted right through this wall just to get to it i wonder if there was anything inside oh wow there's an elevator in here too i wonder what the second floor would happen there's a little bit of power in here but i don't know if i trust the elevator i don't want to get stuck in here maybe later we'll try something but this was the back office it looks like we got multiple vaults and safes pretty sure this is for money counting money there's another second part of the safe right here but it's locked still i don't know if anything's inside there doubt it though things huge so this also doubled as a security room clearly but i seen some other cameras hanging from the ceiling here thinking hopefully that they weren't working this is our uh this is our confirmation of that so there used to be a ticket booth here but it looks like they uh took them all out you probably were able to get them electronically and that's where that thing was you'd pay over here we have another hole in the wall maybe another customer service center see if it turns on there's some power in here maybe there's a desktop behind the counter oh no oh there is no these aren't turning on they're plugged in too here's a theater i could tell this is a big theater just by walking in here oh look there's a light coming from the uh i'll turn my light down there's just a single beam of light coming from the projection room we're gonna have to walk up there i actually don't know how to get up to the projector room we found that elevator but it seems to be the only way of seeing what's in there oh god i'm gonna fall oh just a hallway that's really weird this glass here otherwise i jump through but it's kind of weird yeah you got old popcorn just chilling there that's gross lookie here there's actually just gummy worms still chilling there's a bunch of snacks on the ground this is what i mean by movie theaters are gross i can't see myself going to another one ever again they never clean this at least thoroughly enough that would remove a disease oh my god a little bit first abandoned place that i've seen running water i still wouldn't drink it but first time for everything there we go a couple more theaters that one's smashed in oh i see a little bit of light in that one yup the screen's lit up this is cool this is like what it looks like when you're actually going to movie theater right before showing cool another one lit up so like we said before we think this place is closed in 2005 and we don't see any reclining seats and that's like the move nowadays so that really dates this this theater back and here we are in the main counter the box office i gotta mention that while i'm walking back here i'm slipping and sliding everywhere and all i smell is uh popcorn like butter i think the floors are just completely there's a kernel on the ground this whole this whole place just stinks like like movie theater pop popcorn butter here we have the popcorn machine look down there oh gross i usually don't go into bathrooms when i go to abandoned places at least show them in my videos but in this case i'm gonna show it just because it's a movie theater it's a little different look at that obviously we're in the men's bathroom oh this is creepy how the heck did that happen so this side doesn't really have much power or any power but it's basically exactly the same as the other one over there how about the uh this right in the middle there actually i think that might be stairs there might be a fire exit what we're trying to do is find a way into the projector room there isn't upstairs to this movie theater but all we found was an elevator and that we're just thinking that can't be the only way to get upstairs there has to be a fire exit of stairs to get up there we're just curious you want to see projectors movie theater style projectors i mean that's something i've never seen i've seen old ones but nothing [Music] anything new yeah yeah it is thanks nice wow christy christie christie look at that it's more crispy than crispy that lens wow got electricity coming from this room not going to play around wow this is cool so it looks like they just have all the projectors on this upper floor they wouldn't have separate rooms for them oh it's as hot as the dickens bro yeah it's like 100 degrees outside guys oh nice okay now i gotta go back down and grab my camera i'm gonna come out there last it's so cool and all these are left here there would be a projector here this is another theater oh you got automatic lights it's cool turn them off you can't turn them back on [Music] maybe it just takes a second they're old who knows how long they're on for true oops that's cool some of this stuff works though we're on the roof got a nice range of mountains up top here but uh here we are we've explored I used to go there a bunch with three friends in high school. One time, my jeep battery died, and we had to push it out of the parking lot, to a nearby gas station. Good memories.

Another time, we bought beer at the gas station before the movie. My friend put an empty bottle on the floor, and it rolled all the way down the theater during a quiet part of the movie.

This is funny because I always thought of Greenburgh as the "new theater" when I was growing up.

Aw. My favorite memory of the Greenburgh multiplex is seeing my Rabbi and his wife at a showing of 40 Year Virgin.

I loved this movie theater. I loved the Hawthorne one before it closed too and turned into a stupid fucking car dealership. I miss those theaters.
