Encountering the Lord Pt 2 - Joe Sweet

last sunday i brought a message called encountering the lord or a subtitle could be called finding the knowledge of god when the bible talks about the knowledge of god the word knowledge in the new testament is epignosis and it means it's way beyond information it's not like facts about god the knowledge of god is actually experiencing god it's not hearing about him it's where his holy spirit touches your heart and there's a revelation of you know that's the only way anybody can get saved the only way anyone can get saved is the holy spirit reveals to them jesus is the lord he is the savior and then all of a sudden you know it how do you know it how do we know that we know it because the holy spirit revealed it to our hearts he makes us know it's called the gift of faith so our growth in god is is always contingent upon an increase in the revelation the revelatory knowledge of who jesus is jesus christ is the word of god that means he his person everything about him is the communication he's the embodiment jesus his life his death his resurrection everything about him is the communication of god to us god said i'm going to communicate to creation all creation who i am i'm sending the word made flesh and that's jesus so every time the holy spirit reveals more of jesus to us we're changed and jesus said when the holy spirit comes he'll not speak on his own but he'll glorify me he'll take the things that are of me and reveal them to you so even if you have your eyes open in the spirit and you see jesus standing in front of you talking to you it's the holy spirit revealing jesus to you okay it's the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him and so uh we're talking about encountering the lord we were made for this you were made for this it's part of your inheritance in christ is to know the lord so what we've been on for weeks is second chronicles 7 14. this is the word of the lord for the body christ in america and for many nations right now if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves pray and seek my face turn from their wicked ways or their ways that don't agree with me wicked means the ways that don't agree with god then i'll hear from heaven i'll forgive their sin and heal their land so we're in a mode right now of seeking god's face as i told you before when we seek his face we know his heart looking at someone's face one look on someone's face can tell us paragraphs about what's in their heart so god wants us to seek his face i'm not saying we shouldn't seek other things seeking god to uh save our government from wicked people is a good thing to pray about but that's not the same as seeking his face seeking god for a miracle for someone in need that's a good thing to pres that's not same as seeking his face those are seeking blessings from the lord there's nothing wrong with that we have to do that but god is not saying seek me to fix this seek me to fix that seek me to give you this or that he's telling us seek my faith and jesus is our inheritance because of what christ did for us on the cross he paid what he what he did on the cross was more than sufficient he paid our sin debt he put away the handwriting of ordinances that was against us in his own body on the tree second corinthians chapter five he god was in christ reconciling the world to himself i know i've heard people i've heard people say that when jesus was on the cross father turned his face away that may sound nice but that's not in the bible the bible says when jesus was suffering on the cross the father was suffering in him it says god was in christ reconciling the world to himself he's paid the price we're born again we're new creatures our past is gone now because of what christ did we are in him our spirit is born again we're new creations we may look normal on the outside but we're not we're god people you are not a normal person you're a new creation and you're in process of being conformed into the image of christ when god's done with you you're going to look just like him you know why because you're going to be filled from head to toe with his spirit and our mind will be renewed to think like he thinks our heart will will have his love beating us that's god's plan it's nothing less read ephesians chapter one the prayer that paul prays he asks that god would give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him that means in the revelation of jesus to our heart that we might know him and the hope of his calling if god makes knowing to your heart the plans he has for you you will become exhilarated and ignited with passion to run after god and if your heart right now if you'll say i'm not exhilarated i'm not filled with passion then ask god for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to to give you more of the knowledge of christ and reveal to you the hope of his calling what god has for us is out of this world but it starts in this world and then he said not only to know the hope of his calling but the riches of the glory of his inheritance that's inside us when christ paid the price on the cross he inherited the right to have the fullness of the holy spirit and pour it out on sinful fallen men that call on his name his inheritance is that he paid our sin debt if you read in luke chapter 12 jesus said he's lamenting to his disciples they don't get it they don't know he's he's about to go to the cross and here's what's burning in his heart in luke 12 he said jesus is telling them and it goes right over their head he said i came jesus talking i came to cast fire on the earth and how i yearn until it's burning but i have a baptism to be baptized with first and the baptism he was speaking of was the cross the baptism of suffering so when he paid the sin debt on the cross he inherited forgiveness for all of us he and it is his inheritance he inherited the right to pour out the holy spirit on whoever would call on his name to redeem mankind so paul says i pray god would open your eyes give you revelation of the riches of the glory of his inheritance that's inside you inside the saints now we've been born again the same spirit that raised jesus from the dead now lives in us but we're born again now now my soul needs to be saved see when when i call on the name of jesus and i'm saved from the penalty of sin i put my trust in him i'm safe from the penalty of sin but my soul needs to be saved from my stinking thinking my soul needs to be saved okay if i if i had lust anger adultery theft whatever name the sins when i call the name of jesus i repent trust him i'm safe from the penalty of that i'm not going to hell but god now needs to save me from the present power of sin he needs to he needs to make us so we stop being cranky come on somebody that's called sanctification but guess what it's his work he it's his inheritance so we're filled with christ in us he said i want you to know the riches of the glory of his inheritance what is that colossians 1 26-27 this mystery has been hidden from ages past but now it's been revealed christ in you the riches of the glory of the mystery the riches of the glory is christ in you the hope of glory so now because christ is in us we can be filled with hope if you think if you're putting your hope in you getting better until you're like christ let me just save you a lot of years of wasting your time give up now no matter how much you do how well intended you are you cannot fix yourself you cannot it takes the riches of the glory of his inheritance in us to transform us how much power does he have to do it oh i'm glad you asked that's the next part of the prayer he said that god would make it known to you the riches of the glory of his inheritance it's in the saints and the exceeding greatness of his power that works in us who believe the same power that raised jesus from the dead and seated him far above all principalities and powers at the right hand of god and made him to be hold on and made him to be head over the church listen to this head over the church which is his body and now here's what god calls his body he made him to be head over the church which is his body the fullness of him who fills all in all that's our inheritance christ is in all and when he's done he's going to fill everyone with the fullness of him and we're not supposed to wait for the next age for that to happen because if you do you'll fall short of your eternal purpose walking with god in this life being transformed in this life is what prepares us for our eternal purpose in the next stage none of that was in my notes so i guess the lord must have wanted me to say that we're talking about seeking the face of god god wants us to seek his face when we when he the reason god wants us to seek his face is because he wants to show us his face what does it look like when he shows us his face ezekiel 39 29 i will not hide my face from the house of israel for i will have poured out my spirit he said i will not hide my face from them anymore i will have poured out my spirit on the house of israel it's when god manifests in an awesome way his presence makes himself known to us that's the outpouring of the holy spirit that's seeing his face so we're that's we're made for now here's another reason why god wants us to seek him we're in a season right now and i hope you're on it i hope you're engaged with us and i hope you're doing this because it's the will of god and i say that unapologetically it is the will of god that every believer right now should be in a mode of seeking the lord's faith in an extraordinary way of course as christians we're always seeking the lord but god wants us to seek his face because he wants to reveal himself on a whole new level here's what malachi 3 says the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come to his temple but we talked about that verse last week there's two things that are going to happen when the lord comes suddenly for those that are seeking him they're wanting him they're wanting to be conformed to him when he comes he said the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come let me just talk about this for a minute don't expect an outpouring of the holy spirit or a great visitation of god if we're not seeking him that's a delusion and a deception god suddenly comes where he's being sought that's why the best thing that could happen to us is that we start seeking the god on another level which involves going to the lord and asking him for help and guidance on our weekly schedule and our calendar and our priorities and and ask the holy spirit to help us and talk to us and and to lord how can i seek you okay we're going to talk about some of that but um the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come so be in a seeking mode when he comes subtly he's going to purify he said who can who can stand his appearing he's like a refiner's fire hebrews 12 tells us he is a fire he's going to purify the sons of levi so they can make an offering in righteousness now what that means is as god purifies us our worship which which isn't just when we sing it's our life when he purifies us our worship becomes uh acceptable to the lord on a whole nother level and in the bible whenever this the offering is offered up the fire and the glory falls so what god's saying is i want you to seek my faith and when you do he said i'm going to come and i'm going to purify you and then i'm going to fill you with glory and if you go to malachi chapter 4 it says you who fear my name the son of righteousness will arise with healing in his wings so that's where we're at right now this is god's answer for america and for any nation god's answer for america is for the body of christ to seek his face that's god's answer right there when we do that and the fire of god begins to fill the church and the glory god begins to not only manifest but to abide in the church our nation will be changed that's god's plan and so uh we're talking about seeking the face of god second corinthians chapter four verse three paul writes you can follow along in your bible if you have it second corinthians chapter four verse three paul says even if our gospel is veiled it is veiled to those who are perishing whose mind the god of this age has blinded who do not believe lest the light of the gospel of the glory of christ who is the image of god should sign on them i'll challenge you to do a study on the word glory through the new testament it's amazing how many times it's in the bible and when you do it you'll realize that the glory of god is our intended inheritance god never meant for us to get saved and then just go to church for 50 years and then die and go to heaven he meant for us to get born again and then be changed from glory to glory and until our faces are shining until lightning comes out of our hands when we pray yes he did now he said now notice the the mind people who are blinded the gospel are blinded by the god of this world that's demonic powers lest the light of the gospel of what the gospel of the glory of christ the good news gospel means good news the good news of the glory of christ where's the glory christ in you the hope of glory the glory of god is inside us that's why it says in isaiah 60 arise shine for your light has come and the glory of the lord has fallen from heaven upon you doesn't say that it says the glory of the lord has risen upon you is christ in you rising up and resting upon you so he said we do not preach ourselves but christ jesus the lord and ourselves your bond servants for jesus sake those are the kind of leaders we need leaders that say we're preaching that we are your bond servants not carry my briefcase as the apostles said we're preaching jesus christ and that we are your bond servants come on somebody for it is god here it is verse 6 for it is the god who commanded light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of god in the face of jesus christ so when god says seek my face what are we going to find we're going to find the glory of god where's the glory of god in the face of jesus christ so when god says seek my face it's because he wants to god would never tell us seek humble yourself pray seek my face he would never tell us that unless he wanted to shine his face that means he wants to manifest his glory and that's the only hope for our nation is a church that's walking in the beauty of holiness with the love of god filling her and the power of god flowing from her to set captives free and open prison doors and love people into the kingdom it's only hope for america we could get all the right conservatives in the right place and if the church doesn't have the glory of god we're still sunk so we talked about so now we're talking about the face of god the glory of god is in the face of jesus and that's what the knowledge of god this is the light of the knowledge of the glory of god how many want the knowledge of god we get the knowledge of god we'll see the face of god and on his face his glory when you see his face were changed and i told you last week some examples of the knowledge of god saul is on the road to damascus he encounters the lord the lord appears brighter than the noonday sun and he's changed by beholding his glory we're changed isaiah chapter six isaiah's eyes are opened he sees the lord high and lifted up he sees the throne of god sees the seraphim crying holy holy see smoke filling the play looks like smoke it's a glory god filling the place and he says whoa it's me i'm undone i'm a man of unclean lips and he's converted the angel brings a coal of fire purges him he's completely radically changed in a moment because he had a glimpse of god now our inheritance is christ isn't that great it says in romans that we are joint heirs with christ of god what's our inheritance god when there's nothing better you get god you get it all god's rich god owns everything god has everything he can do anything god didn't give us something for our inheritance he gave us him for our inheritance so he's not saying seek this answer seek me to fix that seek for me to do that again there's nothing wrong with that when there's a crisis and someone needs healing we're going to seek god for that but what god primarily wants is us to seek his face because when we seek his face everything changes i want to tell you about a time uh i'm not going to tell you a lot about it but i did i have by the grace of god i've seen jesus i was wide awake i've seen him a number of times in dreams but once i was wide awake i would not using drugs i never did drugs and i never really drank much alcohol back you know a beer now and then but anyway well maybe more than a beer now and then but but um yeah i'm i saw the lord appeared i've seen the lord face to face i've seen his face i couldn't talk for two hours afterward i tried i couldn't people were asking me what happened what happened what happened because i was sobbing when i tried to talk i couldn't it was undone i saw his hair was white as snow he looked ten thousand years old and he looked young as ever i could tell you he's built he's buff he looked like evander holyfield i'm not kidding on his robe he has a white robe i could see the muscles through his robe i remember thinking he's buff but the main thing was the main thing was waves waves and waves and waves of of love came off him so thick that's what was undoing my heart it was so thick so thick and i i've heard this testimony and i'm going to share it with you i've heard this testimony of a guy named ian mccormick you may have heard of him and i've heard it three or four times over the years but he's told it in different places i heard it recently again and where he was telling on 700 club and this time he added a few more details i want to tell you about it because what i want to tell you about his encounter uh when he tells about jesus when things he said were the same things i experienced but he but he was his was a longer encounter he experienced more but i want to tell you this because as i was pondering this this is our inheritance it's our inheritance to know the lord god does not want us to be far away from him and not have encounters with him he doesn't want us it's not his will for us to not feel his presence hear his voice be changed by revelations to our heart okay let me tell you a little bit i'm gonna try to tell this testimony then i'm going to come back to seeking the lord my hope in saying this is that you'll be encouraged ian mccormick was a lost person just he lived from new zealand and he was down on an island i think called maritas or something like that and he was uh surfing and diving with some of the aboriginal people there diving off the coast and he got stung four times by a box jellyfish now box jellyfish is i was told it's the third most poisonous animal on the planet they said one sting and you're usually dead within one hour he got four stings he came up out of the water and uh the guys he was with they were like it's all over for you kind of and uh he staggered into a bar he said it was at night he'd been night diving for lobsters it would go down with flashlights at night and uh he was already his body was starting to be paralyzed and he started begging people in the bar can someone give me a ride to the hospital and they just blew him off he came outside found a taxi got in the back of the cat and said please take me to the nearest hospital i'm dying the guy asked for money he didn't have it he said i'll pay you one after the guy pushed him out of the car shut the door then uh anyway someone finally picked him up and he s and he drove him to the hospital on the way there he said i could feel my body getting paralyzed that's what it does it paralyzes you then your heart and your lungs he can't breathe he said and i'm laying there and it's being harder to breathe and i know i'm dying he said all of a sudden he said i had a vision right in front of my eyes he's not a christian at all a heathen and in the vision he sees his christian mother and in the vision he sees his christian mother receiving a vision from the lord and the lord's telling her and he heard the lord tell his mother your oldest son is dying right now pray for him then he sees his mother praying and she starts praying oh son call out on jesus call out on the lord call on his name he sees all that in a vision so he thinks oh my gosh i need to pray he said i never prayed before just a total heathen so he said oh god i don't even know what to pray i don't even know who the real god is he said the next thing that happened was these words of the lord's prayer came right before his eyes like a screen how many know it's a blessing to have a praying mom all the praying parents don't ever give up all the praying grandparents don't ever give up and uh he said i saw the words and but they didn't come in order the first phrase i saw came like a ticker tape it said forgive us our sins so he said i said oh god i can't even remember all my sins or count them all but i ask you to forgive me all my sins he said then the next phrase came up it said as we forgive others he said okay lord i forgive everybody else and as soon as he did he said the faces of those two people that wouldn't give him a ride to the hospital popped in front of him he said it was hard because before that happened he said when he got when he did get a ride he said if i ever lived through this i'm going to come back and get those two guys so he saw their faces then he said i struggled for a while but i forgave him he said it's one thing to say the words it's another from your heart he said i forgave him. anyway i prayed and he said a supernatural peace came over my heart he said a peace like i never had anybody gets to the hospital they're injecting him i think he said with adrenaline they're giving him stuff to try to keep him alive the doctor said to him after a while he said we've done everything we can do there's nothing more we can do he said just don't close your eyes keep them open and keep fighting so he said he did but after a while he got tired he said it was so hard to keep my eyes open so hard to breathe he said i just closed him to rest and he said as soon as i did i was gone he said it's out of my body i'm going to skip all the details there's a lot of more details that happen because he didn't know he was dead at first he just thought oh the pain stopped anyway long story short he's he's being drawn through this tunnel and at the end of the tunnel he sees a bright bright light he said as he approaches this light he said waves of living waves were breaking off of the light and rolling onto him and washing through his being he said he realized he was dead finally at first when he died he didn't know he said when i went to like put my hand up on my head it went right through my head my hand went through myself you realize i'm out of my body i must be dead as the first wave that hit him was love he said unearthly overwhelming i know that wave of love washed through him as i got closer to the light the next wave broke off and hit me in a supernatural peace that i've never had came through me then another wave came and it was a joy i mean no that's the kingdom righteousness is love love and then peace and then joy and he said i i'm standing before this light and i feel better than i've ever felt ever it's like oh i've never felt this loved this peaceful this awesome he said i see this orb of light so bright all i could see is blinding light but it wasn't hot it wasn't hurting me i said who are you he said it was alive he said who are you are you god and he said the words appeared above the light first john 1 5 god is light in him is no darkness at all and he said i felt so loved so safe so peaceful he said i felt it was safe to go in there i said can i walk in the light and see you there was no answer she said i started walking in i listened to this who was the light was all the light was coming from the face of jesus christ that's what it says the glory of god didn't we just read that this the for god who spoke into the darkness has shined into our heart the light of the knowledge of the glory of god in the face of jesus in our heart he said as i walked into the light he said it was tangible and living as i first got into the light he said overwhelming love washed through me and imparted into me then he said as i went further holiness imparted into me and then i saw him standing there i saw two nail scarred hands i saw a white robe and two i couldn't see it make out his face because it was so blinding light here's what i want to say the revelation of jesus when he walked into the light the love of god was imparted from christ into him he said when i went further the holiness of god was imparted into him that's our inheritance we don't have to die and leave our body to see him to partake of that the fullness of christ is our inheritance and by the way then he said i wanted to see his face but i couldn't it was too blinding and he said i want to see your face but he said he turned like this and i couldn't see his face but when he turned there was a a big hole a portal open and then i realized he is the door and he said and i looked into paradise i saw green and valleys and mountains and water flowers beauty that was beyond anything on earth i saw the vast kingdoms of god and i was made aware that jesus the person of jesus is the door come on somebody now what am i saying all this for the impartation of the love of god that came into him the impartation of holiness that's the only way we're going to get it we're not going to get we're not going to be able to live what christ has called us to live by our ability it's by christ in us the hope of glory now listen he's standing before the lord now and he said i feel completely loved and i see it's jesus i knew it was jesus and here's what he said i started protesting i said lord lord but how can you love me he said i cursed you he said when i said i cursed him more love came i said lord i've cursed you he said more love came he said lord i've slept around he said more love came i said lord how can you love me and the lord said when you asked me to forgive you i forgived i forgave all your sins the lord said do you want to stay or do you want to go back he said why would i ever want to go back and then he said i thought of my mother he said she won't know that i got saved she might be tormented with the thought that i died lost anyway he said ian if you're going to go back you have to see things in a different light through me through my love but not the reason i said that oh the other thing he described was he said he saw the hair that's how i saw the lord he said the lord's hair was white as snow that's exactly how he i've seen him like that and i know what it's like to have the waves i had waves and waves of the love of god come it's overwhelming i'm melted you your human body can only take so much you know so here's my whole point ephesians chapter 1 verse 3 says that because you've called on the name of jesus because you're in him how many have called on the name of jesus you repented of your sins because you're in him it says he has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places now here's a guy here's a guy who's never done he's like the thief on the cross he didn't have a chance to do one good thing for god not one and he's loved to the bone completely forgiven and overwhelmed with the glory of god and god's imparting into him love and holiness what are we saying christ is our inheritance i'm convinced we can tap into that without dying and going seeing the lord face to face by believing his word and seeking him now the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come see anybody with me on this that's what it is and so that was my introduction to the message today my point is this that god has already provided everything for us colossians 2 10 says we are complete in him now what does it mean how do we reconcile the fact that the bible says we're complete and yet we're not experiencing the fullness of christ yet and here's my understanding if you buy if you go to the walmart and buy a bicycle and i don't recommend that you buy one from there but there's better places but if you buy one from walmart and you bring home a car a box a cardboard box it's complete isn't it all the parts are in it the instruction books in it and sometimes they give you those cheap wrenches that come with it and a cheap hex key right but if you come home and you bring it home you say this is complete that's what the word perfect means we're complete in christ what it means is all of us right now have every component we need to walk into the fullness of christ but we've got to open the box read the instruction manual follow the directions apply take the tools use them put the handlebars in the right place put the pedals in the right place and when we take what's been given to us completeness completeness has been given to us and we follow the instructions and walk it out we have we have a great tool that will get us around recreation fun exercise and utility right and if we just sit there and say i'm complete and don't do anything it won't get you anywhere that's what it means to be complete in christ we've been blessed with everything we need now let's open the box open the book follow the instructions and tap into the fullness of christ amen i want to just hang with me okay second peter chapter one verse two grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of god and of jesus our lord his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life in godliness through the knowledge of him who called us to glory and virtue so every time we get more revelation of jesus we access everything that god's given us for life and godliness how many have a vision for walking in the fullness of christ if you don't get one because that's god's purpose for us every believer nobody by nobody should buy into the lie i can't do it i'll never measure up let me just tell you this right up front you can't do it and you can't measure up but it's not you it's us believing in christ it's christ in us the hope of glory so that means you can come on somebody you can god listen god is trying to birth something he's trying to birth the people that believe the gospel that are going to tap into the fullness of christ in the earth now today and the lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple okay so every time we get the knowledge of god every time god flashes more light of christ we access that's what it says we access everything we've already been given everything that pertains to life and godliness isn't that exciting how many want to access it i want everything i want everything that pertains to life and godliness i want to walk in the fullness i want to walk in all the love all the fruit and all the gifts and if you don't something's wrong everybody should that's our inheritance i'm getting excited i'm get back behind the pulpit again do you want the fullness of christ how many want to be filled with his love see it's not me mustering up my love it's me going to him seeing his face and having his love imparted it's not my holiness it's his holiness imparted it's his life in me that's why it says in this the love of god i think it's first john 4 9 and this love of god was manifested that god gave us his son that we might live through him so now a little bit is a review but i'll do it real fast because we need to understand it to go on do you remember last sunday we talked about in proverbs 2 how to find the knowledge of god how to find it anybody remember he said in essence store up my word in your heart that's like open the box open the book it says take the the left pedal and put it on the left side you have because they screw different ways but the right one on the right side so we have to open the book here's what it says take my words and treasure them store them up in your heart okay can we do that time in the word then he said cry out for discernment and understanding now in context it's of him god i want to know you god i want to know your heart that's discernment and understanding i want to know your love i want to know what you think lord i want to feel the way you feel lord i want to see people the way you do i want your heart lord give me discernment give me understanding the word understand means to stand under the same conditions as the other person so we say god i want to understand your heart god make me see life from your point of view that's being in christ so he said if you'll take my words and you'll cry out and if you for discernment understanding and if you seek her discernment and understanding as silver and search for her as for hidden treasure so that's how we seek god we don't seek him half-heartedly we say god i'm going to encounter now it doesn't mean your eyes have to be opened to see a vision you may or may not god can manifest to you as powerfully as he did to ian mccormick without your eyes seeing him yes he can that's called the knowledge of god he said if you'll do this then he says in proverbs 2 verse 5 then you will understand the fear of the lord and you'll find the knowledge of god so we we touched on that last sunday we have to understand the fear of the lord the fear of the lord is not fear of this doesn't bring torment the in in a nutshell i'm not going to redefine it i did it last sunday the fear of the lord means to be very careful to obey god it means to really pay attention to what he says and do our best to obey that is the fear of the lord do you understand that so god said before you're going to find the knowledge of me you're going to understand something you have to pay attention to my word and do your best to do it that's the fear of the lord the fear of the lord comes before the knowledge of god but the knowledge of god is how we access our full inheritance in christ that's why there's no transformation without obedience that's why hebrews 5 verse 9 says he became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey him so seeking god now becomes a question of lord help me illuminate me correct me bring me into as full of obedience to your will as is possible and it says when you do when you cry out when you're going through the word and praying and say god will you correct me where i'm wrong show me my blind spots and sometimes when you pray like that god will bring people that don't like you to help you see your blind spots how many have had that happen god uses people that don't like you he does he'll use people that love us and people that don't we just have to be sensitive lord is that you as much as i don't like this lord i think it's you how many have had that happen it's the lord so as we seek god like that god said you're going to understand the fear of the lord and find the knowledge of god oh i have so much more to preach i'm going to try to close for now this will get us ready for next week i'm going to tell you about here's what i want us to understand the fear of god means i i give heed i pay attention i listen to the what the bible says now if i'm not encountering more of the knowledge of god i can only conclude there must be something in me that's not lined up with his will so seeking god doesn't mean i stay right where i am and keep calling for god to come to me it doesn't work like that seeking god says lord i i know your presence i know you're with me but i want more the only way to get more is for him to illuminate me on what i need to do to change not for me to stay here and ask him to keep coming does that make sense okay so so there's the fear of god comes first then the knowledge of god now when we have the the fear of god is our treasure i'm going to save this for next week and isaiah says the fear of god is our treasure the fear of god was jesus's delight you read it isaiah 11. he walked in the fullness of all seven spirits maybe he didn't know that but there's seven spirits of god and the seven spirits are one and that's in the bible too so don't freak out we'll cover it next week but jesus is there's the spirit of the lord the spirit of counsel spirit of might spirit of one understanding spirit of uh knowledge in the spirit of the fear of the lord did i miss one wisdom this is a seven-fold spirit of god and when you have here's what i want to say when we have the fear of the lord we get all of them and if we don't have the fear of the lord we don't have them that's why it says when we understand the fear of the lord then we find the knowledge of god when we find the knowledge of god we access our full inheritance in christ that's why without the fear of the lord i can't access my full inheritance in christ that's why satan has done his best to have doctrines and demons come from the pulpit that only say grace love grace love grace love and no fear of god because he knows as long as the church has no fear of god they'll never have the true knowledge of god and as they never have the true knowledge of god they'll never walk in the full stature of christ so all he has to do is have the preachers come on somebody the fear of god is not torment if you read in acts chapter 9 it says they walking in the fear of the lord and the comfort of the holy spirit the real fear of god is is this god i love you so much i just want to obey you that's the fear of god and when it says they walked in the fear of the lord and the comfort of the holy spirit so when we're walking in the real fear of god we're not aware of fear we're aware of comfort that was good that was good sherry agrees i don't know if mark does but praise the lord so the fear of the lord is what we're going to look at next i want i want the fullness of the knowledge of god is to fear him is to seek him and to wait on him that's where i'm going when we fear the lord when we seek his face and wait on him we do those three things it's impossible impossible not to have an increase of the revelation of jesus and that's what we're going to do we're going to fear god we're going to seek his face and wait on him and the lord whom you seek shall suddenly come to his temple chris reed had this experience my closing point by the way he'll be here with paul keith davis in may chris reed's a young minister who had a heavenly experience you might have heard it on sid roth and it's it is he's caught up into a library room in heaven and he was uh directed to a certain book on a shelf and the spine on the book said supernatural and he there's an angel with him and he took the book down and he looked at it and the front of the book cover said the spirit of the lord and the back of the book said the fear of the lord the spirit of the fear of the lord when he opened it only had five pages but each page was real thick and we looked at each page he knew there was all kinds of revelation on each page and each of the pages was one of the seven spirits of god counsel might wisdom knowledge understanding and he held the book and he was looking at it he looked away for a moment when he looked back he said the back cover had been ripped off said the fear of the lord you know what happened in the back cover he looked at it and all the five pages were gone with it then the angel said to him this is what's happened in the church they've lost the fear of the lord and because of it they've lost the fullness of the spirit of god he said they have the presence of god but not his fullness the church has to get the fear of the lord back to have the fullness of god so that'll be that's our introduction to next week come on let's give god praise [Applause] lord help us to access the fullness of our inheritance in christ by knowing you by knowing your love by being having you lord impart your life into us lord i pray that you'll continue to stir every one of us will you pray that with me draw us lord don't let us hit the snooze button i pray that you'll disrupt us if need be provoke us and cause us to be in a mode of seeking your faith lord because it's your intention and then i know it's
