The Culmination of the Age - What We Can Expect, How We Should Live - Joe Sweet

last sunday i brought a message and i think i titled it something like why i believe we're living at the end of the age and if you didn't hear that please hear it it's very important the bible teaches in more than one place how important it is for us to know what time it is jesus rebuked people of his day for not knowing the time and so there were three scripture verses that i brought out from the bible to show and to prove that we are a generation unique there's never been a generation alive on the earth like our generation it's a very unique generation because in luke 21 jesus was prophesying about the end of the age he said he talked about it how rome would come and take over and decimate jerusalem and they did in 70 a.d and he said they will fall by the edge of the sword they'll be led away captive into all nations it's called the dispersion the jews were scattered over all the face of the earth and jesus said jerusalem will be trampled by gentiles until the time of the gentiles are fulfilled so the time of the gentiles means how long it is for the gospel to go to the gentiles because the jews rejected jesus the gospel went out to the whole world to the gentiles and the bible says there's a time of the gentiles the gentiles is every ethnicity and every race that's not jewish so there's a time and when the time of the gentiles is fulfilled then israel will be saved then the lord comes back that's what the bible teaches so he said jerusalem will be trampled by the gentiles until the time of the gentiles are fulfilled that means until all the people from all the other nations except israel south america north america russia germany spain france central america man all the other nations people from all the other nations when that harvest comes in the time of the gentiles is fulfilled then the bible says all of israel be saved and jesus comes back so now we saw that in the six day war in 1967 israel reclaimed rightly jerusalem so that was the first time in 1 900 years it's never happened before in the history of the world that a nation was scattered and 1900 years later came back together never happened before but it was prophesied in the bible that a nation would be reborn so israel was reborn in 1947 and 48. then in 1967 israel jerusalem was recaptured by israel from that point on that's a sign of the beginning of the end of the time of the gentiles meaning we're in now we're now living in the last final harvest of the earth and it's the beginning of the time of israel and i talked about that in romans chapter 11 verse 25. he said i don't want you to be ignorant brethren you should be ignorant of this mystery unless you should be wise in your own opinion that blindness in part has happened to israel until the fullness of the gentiles has come in and then all israel will be saved and in matthew 24 14 jesus said this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations then the end will come so we're seeing now with wycliffe bible translators and others the translation of the word of god into every dialect on the earth is taking place the gospel is going out throughout the world more rapid than ever before in world history i don't remember the exact year i would guess it was about five years ago maybe six i remember mike bickle writing about him being involved in a meeting in north america with leaders of major mission movements from all around the entire world they'd all gathered together every mission movement from around the world had gathered together these leaders and they gathered together with leaders from houses of prayer and they were connecting the houses of prayer with the missions movements so that there would be prayer fueling the missions movements and they brought together reports of the progress happening on the mission field this is five or six years ago and here's what they said at the rate we're going within 12 years every tribe on the world will be reached come on somebody this has never happened for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years we're now there these are conclusive irrefutable signs that we are a generation living at the end of the age now it's important we know that in luke chapter 21 verse 24 i mean 25 when jesus said it'll be trampled jerusalem will be trampled until the times the gentiles are fulfilled then he said there will be signs in the sun in the moon in the stars and on the earth the stress of nations with perplexity the sea and the waves roaring and we're seeing the distress of nations right now i told you this uh last week a good friend of mine that i've known for more than 30 years he's a prophet he lives in northern california but he used to live in lancaster he came to me in 2005 telling me about a prophetic experience he had he was shaken he said it's the most powerful prophetic experience i've ever had he said it lasted about eight hours he said i saw the birth pangs the beginning of sorrows i saw the things leading up to the second coming of the lord he told me this in 2005. he said in this experience i was told that the birth pang the beginning of the end the birth pangs jesus spoke about the birth pains he told me in 2005 the birth pangs will begin in the year 2020. come on somebody how many know that's an accurate word look what happened in 2020 the whole world's been shaken economies have been shaken people everywhere have been shaken it's a birth pain so jesus said these signs will happen there'll be perplexity in the nation the sea and waves roaring men's hearts failing them for fear and the expectation of those things coming on the earth for the powers of the heavens will be shaken then they'll see the son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory now when these things begin to happen he said lift up and lift look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws near so we see these beginning to how we're in the beginning of the end we still have some years to go but not too many he said then he spoke to them a parable look at the fig tree and all the trees when they're already budding you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near so also you when you see these things happening know that the kingdom of god is near when we see even from 1967 we should know the clock is ticking okay assuredly i say to you this generation now the generation that sees the beginning of these things happening how many were alive in 1967 that generation when you that's the beginning these are great end-time signs that cannot be manipulated by any man he said when you see these things beginning he said no that the kingdom of god is near i say to you surely this generation me the generation that sees these signs will by no means pass away until all these things take place so there's going to be one generation that means according the word of god and again i've heard the arguments people say well they thought jesus was coming back in the year 1000. they thought he was coming back in the 1200s they thought he's coming back in the 1500s but there was no rebirth of israel see the gospel hadn't gone all throughout the whole world like it is today these are this is these are signs that are happening today in our generation we need to know it now we need to not have a negative concept about the end of the age again if you missed last week please hear the message for the believer it's a positive concept we're not i'm not negative about the end of the age i feel privileged to be alive today i feel privileged to get to be a laborer a cold labor with god aren't you joseph aren't you feel privileged to be a co-laborer at the end of the age and help bring in the final great harvest god makes a distinction between those who serve him and those who don't and he tells us over and over for those that love god and serve god he says fear not we don't have anything to fear god is with us and so um this is an exciting time to believe be alive we shouldn't think oh no the lord's going to come back it'll disrupt my plans if that's the way you think you're far out of the will of god if you'll love god and serve him you'll have nothing but excitement and joy thinking about the coming of the lord it's not the end of the world it's the end of an age it's the beginning of a new age on the earth where god takes the crooked and makes it straight he takes the proud and brings them down he lifts up the valleys and brings down the mountain he makes a rough way smooth and the knowledge of the glory of the lord will fill the earth come on somebody that's not a disruption i say come lord jesus and it doesn't mean we're going to die i believe with all my heart there could be people in this room you and i might be one of them that live until the second economy of jesus and we never die we're not going to die and the world's not going to end we're going to get a glorified body and the kingdom of god will come on earth i i'm looking forward to waking up with a body that can't have a backache come on ii peter 3 10 we need to know what time it is but the day of the lord will come as a thief in the night in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise the elements will melt with fervent heat both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up therefore since all these things will be dissolved what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct in godliness looking for and hastening the coming of the day of god because of which the heavens will be dissolved being on fire and the elements will melt with fervent heat nevertheless we according to his promise look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells therefore beloved looking forward to these things be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless now i want to address this for a minute he when the fire comes it's not going to destroy the globe the globe the planet earth is not going to disappear when it says there's a new heaven and a new earth this heaven and earth will pass away it's the same greek words used in second corinthians 5 17 when it says if any man be in christ he's a new creation old things have passed away same greek words passed away new creation now what happened when we're in new creation did i disappear did i cease to exist no i was born again there's a change on the inside and my mind is in process of being renewed and i am a new creation so are you christ is in you the old so when it says the old is passing the old earth it means the old way the old corruption the old system the old evil it's going away it's gonna pass away doesn't mean this planet will disappear now there's two different words in the greek for the word new one is n-e-o neo it means new in time there's another greek word it's i don't know how to pronounce this k-a-i-n-o-s it means renewed and made fresh so it's like this when you build a home in the year 2021 and you finish construction in the month of july 2021 and you move in in july you have a new home it's neo new in time now you go fast forward no no let me back up now you take another home that was built in 1970 and you refurbish it you put a new roof you re-stucco the outside you tear up the carpet you put in italian marble you redo the house you remodel it you throw out everything old everything cruddy and you remodel it and make it look like brand new that's the greek word k-a-i-n-o-s renewed made fresh now the house was still built years ago but when you walk in you say i got a new house agreed okay that's the greek word describing what's coming to the earth now in the days of noah the earth was destroyed by flood but it wasn't completely obliterated here's what happened jesus said as it was in the days of noah so will it be in the days of the coming of the son of man now you'll know i don't believe the bible teaches a pre-tribulation rapture you if you do proper biblical exegesis you cannot find a pre-tribulation rapture in the bible but you can find abundant clear direct evidence that the church will be here through the tribulation now when noah when in his day when the flood came noah didn't leave the planet he went into the ark the ark is a type of christ the judgment came and he was lifted up under him the wicked were judged and he settled right back down on the earth come on somebody that's the second coming of the lord jesus christ at the second coming of jesus christ now for those that are watching and i know i i know the messages that are going to come i have a message on youtube called what the bible teaches about the rapture please hear that before you write or complain because you can listen to the scripture and it'll answer your questions they'll save a lot of time okay now when jesus comes you can read this in second thessalonians chapter one he's coming in flaming fire to take vengeance on those who don't know god and to give rest to us who've been troubled by them those happen at the same time reach second thessalonians chapter one god will give you rest along with us when he comes in flaming fire and glory to take vengeance on those who don't know god and to be glorified in us who believe come on somebody see they happen at the same time the catching up of the saints is like this at the second coming church is going to go through the tribulation we're not appointed to wrath there will be judgments happening on the earth but we're not appointed to it come on noah wasn't appointed to judgment but he didn't leave the earth he was in christ in the ark the ark is a type peter tells us that it's a type of the flood was a type of baptism into christ so he's in christ he's lifted up in christ the judgments happen under him he settles back down and repopulates the earth so as so will it be in the days of the coming of the son of man the church will be caught up in the air to meet the lord we'll instantly get our glorified bodies while the wrath of god is the fire he's coming and flaming fire is is cleansing the earth and the church comes right back down to rule and reign with him that's the bible and the earth is going to be renewed and made beautiful and made glorious but first the the fire is going to burn up the tares and we'll see that from the scripture when jesus talked about the wheat and the tares and they asked him to explain it to them he said first gather the tares and burn them then the wheat into my barn i'm sticking with the words of jesus anyway so here's what so when he says the earth is going to be burned up with fire we'll be caught up in the lord the fire will cleanse the earth we're coming down it's going to be made new glorious come on now there's things the bible tells us that are going to happen when you read the book of genesis this is fascinating when you read the book of genesis when god created the earth was out form and void the spirit of god hovered over the face of the deep and then god spoke and said let there be but when he made the firmament it says the firmament was in the heavens to divide the water below the heavens and above the heavens so there was water before noah's flood there was water above the heavens that's what it says now if you've ever flown on an airline and you get about 35 000 feet it's about 55 degrees below zero at that altitude at all times even over the desert that's how cold it is up there now be before the flood now when the flood happened the firmament was broken up water came from under the earth before but now it came from the heavens now here's what scientists postulate isaiah also says that the earth was wobbled off of its axis now scientists have determined that if we were to take oh let me back up if you read revelation it says when there's the the earth is made new there's no more pacific ocean atlantic ocean i'm sure there'll be bodies of water like maybe the great lakes or lake tahoe but no vast oceans why they're going to go back up to the firmament here's what the firmament is it's a it's a layer of water that goes around the entire globe this is what scientists postulate now let's say you go five miles up and there's a quarter mile thick or however thick it is layer of water around the earth that's frozen it'd be like glass and they've said that that that water would keep out the ultraviolet rays which makes all the plants flourish and and that's and keeps people from getting cancer they said that plant life now they found uh prehistoric animals like mastodons near the north pole preserved perfectly frozen in ice and when they open their stomach they have tropical vegetation in them meaning that the whole earth at one time was tropical before the flood before the earth wobbled off its axis so now scientists are postulating that you can read dr carl bao he's a christian science he's a christian and a scientist with a creation research institute they said if if the earth's axis went so many degrees this way it would change gravity slightly they said if that firmament was replaced back up there it would create a greenhouse effect and the whole planet would have perfect weather all over the whole planet it wouldn't be hot and cold it'd be like hawaii or whatever be like 70 degrees everywhere perfect they said the plant life would so proliferate because of that greenhouse effect and because of the the filtering out of the ultraviolet lights now they know this in tests already that if you grow plants without ultraviolet light in a certain atmosphere they just double in growth they said the the extra plant life with the firmament replaced would cause a 25 increase in oxygen on the planet and uh without in to go on and on and on they said the whole planet would be a paradise see we fell didn't we and you read it in the book of revelation there's a new heaven and earth and there's no more oceans they're back up in the firmament we need jesus to come back he said he's going to fill this earth with the knowledge of the glory of the lord he's going to put down the wicked and raise up the righteous you know who's going to rule in the on this planet with jesus who's going to rule with him the people over the last 2000 or 6 000 years the people over the last history of earth who've been the most humble the most faithful the most obedient the most sacrificial the most honest and the most christ-like people who've laid down their life for christ and they become overcomers those are the people that are going to co-rule and reign with jesus this earth is going to be run by jesus christ and by saints come on somebody who doesn't want that that's not interrupting my plans anyway he said since all these things are going to be dissolved the present way the world is the world's systems the world's values the world's corruption it's going to be dissolved being on fire it says nevertheless we according to his promise we're looking for new heavens and a new earth again that doesn't mean a new globe it means a renewed is the greek word in which righteousness dwells so now we're approaching the end of the age and i have a lot more to say about that but we should understand what should we expect to happen at the end of the age what's our part what how should we be involved you know a young lady in our church uh on the way out i think she's 12 or 13 years old on the way out of church last sunday she and her mother talked to me she said my daughter had a dream a while back and in the dream jesus appeared to her in the dream and she asked the lord concerning the whole cove and the shutdowns and all the the disruption going on she said lord when are things going to get back to normal and the lord laughed and he said daughter they're not going back to normal come on we're at the end of the age now that's not bad news that's good news because normal is sick jesus is coming to heal the earth now here's what he says we're living at the end of the age some things i want to talk about in future what should we expect at the end of the age here's what jesus said the harvest is the end of the age when he talked about the wheat and the tares he said the harvest is the end of the age so we should expect at the end of the age the greatest harvest of righteousness and of evil the wheat and tares will grow up together i'll come back to that okay we should expect when he said the wheat and the tares will grow up together that means the wheat is gonna that's the children of us of god are gonna grow up into the measure of the stature of the fullness of christ and don't you dare go into unbelief and say oh i couldn't do that it's unbelief we're redeemed by jesus his grace can finish what he started if we'll obey him and press for the mark of the prize he'll work in us both to willing to do come on oh man i'm going to find somebody to preach to huh he's he's going the wheat is going to come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of christ he said the wheat is going to grow up read ephesians chapter 4. god's given us apostles prophets evangelists pastors teachers till we all grow to the measure of the stature of the fullness of christ guess what else can happen the tares are going to grow up evil is gonna get more evil it's happening right now it's happening people are so con blinded by the god of this world if you say i'm sorry there really are only two genders they'll say you are a hater you're the problem with this world that's what they say see i don't think boys should be in the girls wrestling class beating up the girls you're a hater you're a hater how sick is that help me somebody see the wheat and the tares are growing up together we're going to see wickedness come to a maturity we're going to see righteousness come to maturity anyway so here's what our focus is for today by the way let me give you just a couple of verses to show you that the earth is not going to disappear it's going to be renewed i told you the greek words but here's a couple of them second chronicles 33 4 the lord has said in jerusalem my name shall be forever jeremiah 17 25 jerusalem shall remain forever how about psalm 37 11 the meek shall inherit the earth there's more ezekiel 37 25 it says they shall dwell there they and their children and their children's children forever and my servant david shall be their prince forever david's coming back with jesus and he's going to be a prince the bible says he'll be a prince in israel forever so now god says this we're we're approaching the end of the age things are escalating we're in the beginning of the birth pangs what should we do now there's a lot when i say what shall we expect and how should we live it's going to take a few weeks to answer those questions but i want to start start today here's what peter says how many believe the apostle peter had wisdom from god here's what he wrote since we're looking for a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells therefore beloved looking forward to these things see we're not thinking doom and gloom we're looking forward jesus is coming it's not it's not going to end our life if we're alive those who are alive and remain remain will be caught up in the air changing a moment come right back with him to rule and reign so you're not going to leave the earth the earth is going to become like heaven it is think of it when every devil is taken off the earth the curse is lifted off the earth the firmament is restored the earth becomes beautiful and jesus in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge along with millions of angels and saints come to renovate the earth he's going to make it the jewel of all of his creation and we can be alive from now right through that process right into the millennium read the bible it's there i'm that means we could be together in three or four hundred years from now having a great meeting so here's what peter says therefore beloved looking forward to these things now here's what we want to look at today it's our introduction to these questions what can we expect in the years to come and how should we live here's what he says looking forward to these things be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless there's an order to that in peace in peace without spot blameless now i've noticed something when i go through the scriptures and i find scriptures that talk about the coming of the lord it's always or many times preceded by blameless in holiness at the coming of the lord in peace and holy at the coming of the lord meaning what god's expecting between now and then is the grace of the holy spirit working in us to transform us to set us free from selfishness and offense and strife and all that stuff and get us walking in peace and love blameless before the lord that's what god's after let me read it again therefore beloved looking forward to these things be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless now when we talk about the coming of the lord in ii peter 3 10 he said the lord will come as a thief in the night but that's not for us he'll only come as a thief in the night for the backsliders and the unbelievers and the christ rejecters here's what first thessalonians 5 says for when they that's those who are persecuting the church when they say peace and safety then sudden destruction comes upon them not upon the church as labor pains upon a pregnant woman and they shall not escape but you brethren are not in darkness so that this day should overtake you as a thief meaning we'll be on the earth we're not in darkness that day won't overtake us as a thief when the second coming of the lord comes we'll know what's at hand we'll be living in peace blameless holy looking up waiting for our redemption but they who've been persecuting the church he'll come like a thief in the night to them and sudden destruction will come on them but not us that's what he's saying you brethren are not in darkness so that this day should overtake you as a thief you are all sons of light and sons of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness therefore let us not sleep as others do but let us watch and be sober now when the lord comes again second thessalonians chapter one he says he's going to come in flaming fire peter mentions the um the fire of god is going to burn up when he comes he says in second thessalonians 1 he's coming in flaming fire to judge the wicked but to be glorified inside the saints isn't that exciting now if you read malachi chapter 4 when it's talking about the great and terrible day of the lord that's the day the lord comes it's great for everybody that loves the lord it's terrible for everyone who's rejected him it's called the great and terrible day of the lord here's what malachi 4 says i'll paraphrase as best i can he said and that day is coming burning like an oven in which all who the proud and all who do wickedly shall be burned up that should be left neither root nor branch but to you who fear my name the son of righteousness will arise with healing i looked up that word to hebrew it means health supernatural health he's going to rise with health in his wings and you should go out like stall fed calves and it says in the wicked shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day i do this read malachi 4. he says remember moses my servant and elijah you know and he tells all that about turning the hearts of the father to the children concerning the great and terrible day of the lord so when the lord comes there's a day coming burning like an oven and all who are proud and do wickedly shall be burned up when it says they'll be left neither root nor branch that means there'll be no hope of recovery but to you who fear my name the son of rises will arise with healing and that word means health supernatural health new bodies he said and the wicked will be ashes under your feet we'll be here on the day i do this well it's in the bible we better know what's we should know what to expect and we should be filled with hope god is with us god is with us holy holy emmanuel god almighty lord of glory you are holy holy holy hallelujah hallelujah the lord of hosts ancient of days some said jesus he is the same fire and smoke from heaven god's with us come on with us holy oil from heaven holy oil from heaven god's with us i can sing as good as greg burleson in the shower praise the lord now now here's what we want to focus on here's what i want to live therefore beloved this is peter the apostle looking forward to these things be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot and blameless okay now i'm going to read a couple verses to you look at these first thessalonians 3 verse 12 and 13. may the lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all just as we do to you so that he may establish your heart blameless in holiness before our god and father at the coming of the lord jesus christ with all his saints so how many notice at the coming of the lord god expects us to be blameless and holy what's a good definition of blameless and holy abounding that means overflowing in love toward one another and toward all that means even people that hate us people that backstab us we love them we forgive them we were lost like they were we've done dumb things like they have i know i don't know about you but i've done pretty stupid things before i've done prideful things selfish things so god says i've forgiven you all your sins you love everybody that's blameless before god give them grace be patient maybe they're going to be converted we're supposed to love everybody now see that here's another one first thessalonians 5 23 and 24 may the god of peace there it is peace blameless holy it's the god of peace himself sanctify you completely may your whole spirit soul body be preserved blameless at the coming of the lord jesus christ so there's the here's a recurring theme the coming of the lord jesus christ god has said be blameless and holy but before blameless and holy comes peace now it's taken me a long time to figure this out i wish somebody would have taught me this a long time ago because thank god he's working in us but when you lose your peace you lose all the fruit of the spirit when you give in to those impulses well i'll just give them a piece of my mind you there goes all the fruit of the spirit out the window stop getting bugged stop getting offended stop getting angry how am i going to do that die because every time you get offended irritated bugged angry you lose your peace and as soon as you lose your peace you lose all the fruit of the spirit so he said be diligent now diligent means focused fervent and faithful be diligent to be found by him in peace because it says it's the god of peace that sanctifies us so that's the first thing we have to focus on here's what peter's i'm telling you this is wisdom from god peter said knowing it all things this earth and the waste all the secular garbage on tv all the all the people that the world idolizes all those values they're all going to burn up but a new renewed world is coming with righteousness he said looking forward to these things be diligent that means be intentional work at it go for it be fervent and faithful and focused be diligent to be found in peace and if you're in peace the god of peace will sanctify you he will the god of peace will sanctify you completely body soul and spirit will be preserved now you know what that means when you understand how the second coming of the lord is and how the church is going through the tribulation then you'll understand why it says god will preserve you body soul and spirit until the coming of the lord i sure wish somebody would say amen and so this is a wisdom from god to be at peace hebrews 13 20 and 21 says now may the god of peace who brought up our lord jesus christ from the dead that great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting covenant may he make you perfect in every good work working in you what's well pleasing in his sight through jesus christ to whom be glory forever it starts with peace now peace means don't get in a squabble with people it's better to just let if they say something nasty to you just let them say it that's what i'm saying well you're this and you're in that say okay my peace is more viable than anything else you have to stay in peace peace is where the kingdom of god is peace is where the supernatural is we have to stay in peace the now when you're when you become intentional about staying in peace you'll start to see the hand of the devil around you trying to get you out of peace when you're doing the will of god i can see it now i know i'll be right i'm i'm right in the middle of something i get a phone call or a text or somebody has to see me and they're all upset and they're and you know in the i used to get in there and get upset with them you know what what did you do you upset well let me see you straight i fell right into the devil's trap how many have ever done that well i'll give you a piece of my mind i don't do that anymore you can have a fit now let's stay peaceful right here i don't care what you call me i'm not losing my peace the peace is the kingdom of god so this is the wisdom i i'm only gonna this is my only my introduction but i'm telling you if we can live in peace we're going to be overcomers we can live in peace all our relationships will get better we can live in peace we'll walk in the kingdom of god he said be diligent to found why do we have to be diligent because the devil's always working to try to get us out of peace he wants to get us onto his ground get us into strife james said where there's trife there's every evil work i'm not going there i'm staying in peace you can talk about me all you please i'll do my talking on my knees and i told you this before i'm i'm winding down but i remember i heard a very saintly catholic priest father john hemps you know we shouldn't judge other denominations there's godly people everywhere i've met really saintly nuns that will put a lot of christian to shape i've seen bapti i've i remember going years ago to hometown buffet and i saw sometimes the lord opened my eyes in the spirit i saw a baptist man glowing i mean the anointing was all over him i like oh i told my wife i said see those three men up there they're preachers and that guy's anointed she said how do you know what i said i can see it it's just glowing we got up to the register i said hey how was church today they said oh good i said what church you're from they said lancaster baptist the guy was anointed they pointed to the guy that was glowing and they said he was our guest speaker today man was it awesome we shouldn't judge other people i saw a stronger anointing on him i've seen on a lot of people anyway this catholic priest father john hemps he used to he float in word of knowledge and he had these seminars that were six eight hours long on saturday and he would uh pray for people for inner healing and deliverance and it would often result in physical healings and so he was doing a seminar and i'd heard him preach before very anointed very humble very christ-like man and uh at the break everyone went out to go eat lunch and then come back in an hour so he went to the back of the hallway and he was snooping around the kitchen see if he could make himself a cup of coffee the kitchen was closed but he saw a coffee pot plugged in he looked and just had water in it so he found some instant coffee got a cup put some water made some instant coffee but he didn't know it wasn't water it was lye which is a very strong acid the cleaning ladies put lye in there to get the stains off the coffee the kitchen was closed so he took a big gulp of it like this and when he did it burned up his vocal cords destroyed him he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital he's in excruciating pain the doctors examined him and he's laying on the table and he heard the doctor say this man will never speak again he's completely destroyed his vocal cords he said anxiety and fear began to come into his heart he thought lord i'm a preacher how can i serve you if i can't speak and then he said i caught myself i heard him give this testimony i was in the meeting when he gave the testimony he said i caught myself and i said no i refuse to be anxious he said i refuse to have fear the kingdom of god is righteousness peace and joy he said i choose peace he said in my heart i said lord if it's your will that i never talk again i accept it but no matter what happens whether i'm healed or not i'm going to stay in peace because your kingdom is peace he said as soon as i got my heart in peace it felt like warm oil was poured on my head and as it came down over my head as soon as it got to my throat my vocal cords were recreated he said i sat up in bed and told the doctor i'm healed i'll go home now come on the peace of god listen the devil wants to get us out of peace he wants to get us fussing with each other listen whatever anybody says to you just agree with them you're this okay you did that okay and if it's true apologize and repent and who cares don't get into strife he said the god of peace will sanctify you completely so now here's another thing about peace romans 16 19 and 20 it says be excellent in what is good and innocent in what is evil and the god of peace will soon crush satan's head under your feet there's spiritual warfare for you right there it has nothing to do with yelling at demons it means be excellent in what is good love your neighbor manifest the fruit of the spirit forgive them be kind to them that's called being excellent in what is good be innocent in what's carnal and proud and sinful excellent what is good innocent knee and the god and what will happen peace will fill your heart the god of peace will crush satan's head under your feet help us lord amen one more verse philippians 2 verse 14 and 15 do all things without complaining and disputing that means stay in peace that you may become blameless and harmless so he said when jesus comes between now and the second coming of jesus here's what god's going to do in your life and in mind he's going to sanctify you he's going to take things out of your heart that are carnal and selfish he's going to bring all the fruit of the spirit you're going to walk in peace you're going to have the fruit of the spirit come on somebody and and when the lord comes he's going to find you blameless and without spot in peace i sure wish someone would say amen isn't that great it's what he said he said now may the god of peace himself sanctify you completely your whole spirit soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of the lord faithful as him that calls you he also will do it i choose to believe it lord have your way now here's what philippians says do everything without complaining and disputing complaining is not a little sin it's a big sin complaining is not a little sin it's a big sin complaining kept the israelites out of the promised land god doesn't like complaining it's the opposite of giving thanks if you catch yourself tempted to complain repent and start thanking the lord now watch he said do everything without complaining and disputing don't fuss with people how many are here don't fuss don't do it i've done my share of it in the past i don't want any of it anymore how about you don't fuss with people do everything without complaining complaining will keep you from your promises complaining is offensive to god it really is it's it's a sign of ingratitude and self-centeredness give thanks here's what we should do first thessalonians 5 17 18-19 rejoice always pray constantly and give thanks in all circumstances this is the will of god in christ jesus for you so he said now watch if you do everything without complaining and disputing you will become blameless and harmless children of god without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as lights in the world christ is in you and and for him to shine out we have to get rid of all complaining and all disputing and then we'll shine like lights no complaining everybody else could be complaining we could say well thank god he's good he sure has been gracious to me well what about this well i know god causes all things to work together for good to those that love god to those who are called according to his purpose for whom he called he predestined to be conformed to the image of his son well i have a lot more to go that's probably enough for today how shall we live how shall we live be diligent to be found by him in peace without spot blameless first john 2 28 beloved abide in him so that when he appears you will not shrink back the word shrink back means withdraw from shame help us lord we're approaching the second coming of jesus it's time to pull out all stops and live for jesus thank you lord say this with me here's let me read the verse be diligent to found by him in peace without spot and blameless god and don't anybody think i can't do that that's a lie you have everything that pertaining to life and godliness has been given to you christ is in you you can do this he will sanctify you he will work in you both to willing to do of his good pleasure if he can change me he can change anybody i'm not nearly as cranky as i used to be that's a miracle years ago some some person a young person probably about 10 years old this is probably about 10 years ago came up to me at the end of a service said pastor you've changed you're nice i didn't know whether to be offended or complimented god's working in us holy holy
