Elks Drug Awareness: Facing Addiction (Squad Vlogs)

hey guys what's up you're probably wondering why is it just me and Shane here that's because we are surprising Keith no and Courtney and have no idea what we're doing today we partnered up with Elks drug awareness program and the DEA to kind of shock them today our three cast mates are going to step into rooms with no clue what's going on and there they will meet themselves had they gone down a different path to make this work we pulled out all the stops we made like for example a replica of Courtney's old living room we've also brought in look-alike actors to play Keith Noah and Corden and we're having ray a drug expert teach these actors what they would be like if they were heavily into drugs we've given each of the actors information about Keith Noah and Courtney's lives as well as fictional scenarios with the moment they turn to drugs and it'll just be a very unique outlook on how your life could have been if you went down the wrong path obviously I think goes without saying this could get pretty heavy it's not our typical video so just be prepared let's go let's go [Music] right now our drug expert is meeting with the look like actors teaching them about their roles good to meet you guys this morning my name is Ray Lozano I spent a lot of time talking to different students trying to help them achieve their goals and not get involved with drugs and alcohol so that's what we're here to do today is talk about different drugs and show the example of what takes place and how it really derails your life so what parts you guys playing today I'm Phaethon playing Courtney going through the symptoms and consequences of oxycodone prescription pill addiction my name is Rami I'll be playing Keith if he were addicted to meth and I'm Patrick and I'll be playing Noah if he were addicted to heroin after teaching them a bit about their respective drugs will send the actors to make up where they'll be transformed so with the prescription drugs really hijacks who you are and it gives you this euphoric kind of feeling and so people feel like they're relaxed but the problem that's gonna happen with that is it's gonna take over and then what happens is you find that you cannot interact with other people unless you're using the drugs there's a lot of regulations and a lot of thought that goes into that prescription but it's when people start abusing their prescription or abusing somebody else's prescription but if you do it the way that it's prescribed more than likely addiction won't happen meth is a terrible drug it's like Satan had a day off he's like I'm gonna make something new today I made meth the stuff that somebody's putting into their system with meth are things that you should never be putting inside your body so you're a character there's gonna be a lot of hand-wringing there's gonna be a lot of twitching a lot of moving around you're gonna be upset you're gonna be angry the only thing you can think about is meth one of the things that a lot of drugs do is they have a tendency to eat calcium inside your system so somebody that's been using heroin for quite a while are gonna have messed up teeth their thought process is going to be how do I get this drug so you're gonna have a lot of marks on your arms especially if you're shooting heroin you know I work with people that have collapsed their veins so their hands are constantly going numb so as soon as you use a drug like heroin it goes into your system it immediately hits your brain within a matter of seconds and so that euphoric feeling happens that's what the heroin addict is looking for it the actors are prepped and in makeup the sets are decorated now the only thing left to do is bring Keith Noah and Courtney in and see how it goes you're gonna walk straight straight back here yeah do you guys know what's behind the store we know a little bit not too much are you ready my heart's pounding um hi why do I feel like I'm like in my room from 2015 get me out of here yeah hello the hell are you doing get me out of here man you got to get me out of hey no this is Europe apartment yeah we live here what what's uh what's going on here you know you can't go anywhere so come on how's the rest so it's not like I have to like get made up or anything why are you on house arrest I was on my way to this party right and I got pulled over and I had some oxy on me I had to spend some time in jail and I missed my Smosh audition but okay I so you're me you're are you me oh you still singing yo what's your name you really don't know birthday's coming up huh yo you know a little bit too much homie this is okay all right I could dance real good nobody cares about me anymore are you me man poor you you're Jamie Jamie and you're no you're me your name nobody is coming to visit I haven't seen Kerry and so long oh my god I couldn't imagine being Kerry and seeing this and I imagine if my family saw me like that I don't know what they would do it just break their heart I mean seeing this breaks my heart I'm the type of person that I fear every decision that I make seeing how much I missed out would just destroy me we should have never taken that hit dad's face why did we do that to him Wow I haven't seen anybody in seven years kasing nobody talks to us because of what we did with Kayson bringing us drugs why did we do that why did we do that y'all know how I feel about my nephew my dad this is rough when we got into that car accident you were 16 and we were drunk the doctor said take these and we said okay Wow so we took them and that led to here after our back healed and the doctor didn't give us any more medicine you wanted your fix $5.00 what but we didn't want to stop $5.00 turns to 10 10 into 20 hundred dollars a day yes your skin is actually boiling that's scary we're even are we this looks like a this is your home and in this park this is not my home this is not where I choose to be this is not how I choose to live my life I forgot that's what I used to sound like Wow okay I used to work at a pharmacy and I saw people like this all the time that were getting prescriptions and they weren't they probably shouldn't have been getting as many as they were and that pharmacy was still filling them and I just couldn't imagine what this would feel like if this was me and I saw my potential self um come into my room um thank you for doing this Oh what's your real name I didn't like hi hi it's so hard to hear like when you say like my family didn't talk to me Carrie honestly when you said her name like that hurt so much I just was with her last night like having a great time with her and I was so thankful I'm so honored to be I've gotten into accidents before and like never in an accident has anyone been injured everything's always turned out okay but that's just like actually a real last possibility that like if I was going 10 miles an hour quicker you know what I've broken a rib what I've been given something I'm not that much older than you and I remember being in high school and doing theater and so seeing you come in and seeing your reaction it was as much of me looking in the mirror right now as it was our intention to have you look in the mirror yeah I'm happy this is fake I'm happy that I don't drink and drive I'm happy pen I did not get in a car accident I'm happy that I was not prescribed opioids I'm happy that I did not become dependent on them thank you yeah thank you thank you thank you for doing this I'll give you a hug too if you don't mind thank you well first of all a Romney nice to meet you I felt like I was in a haunted house when you started saying stuff about Cincinnati and like home and then you started saying like my dad then I started the we'll start to turn a little bit my mom my dad very loving people they loved me a whole bunch and I take them for granted now I can't imagine my family disowned in me I don't know it makes me feel bad it makes me feel bad to see like this is what it could have been because like if this is what it could be for me it could have been this way for somebody else like it is this way for somebody else you need to be let out of there we're gonna clean you and no so how'd you guys feel today um it was really shocking because you'd go in not fully understanding what's in front of you I broke down especially when she said my sister's name like that hurt that's just scary seeing anybody like that right uh got in there into some man screaming mm-hmm didn't know it was me like what yeah yeah and didn't know how to feel like how did I get here or like who is like that's not me yeah yeah what Road did you go down exactly I used to work at a treatment facility and what we would do is when people would come in at their worst point we would take a picture of them and then a year later when they would graduate we would show them that photo again and it's the same reaction that you guys had I can't believe that's me I can't believe that I've gone through this how did I end up at that point how am I getting here now and the thing that we always need to remember is the hope that you know you can turn your life around similar with Keith I mean the opening to my experience was walking down this hallway that honestly felt like a like a zombie movie I saw the syringe like I saw the the boils the blisters I didn't know that it was me like that that was when it was definitely a weird turn in my story I was 16 and I decided to drink and drive and that led me to a car accident which led me to shattering three of my vertebrae which led me into getting prescribed some sort of painkiller I mean if you prescribe something the doctor means well the doctor right they're not handing you it led to your addiction yeah it's like a slope of choices it's not that my doctor gave me a pill and because you drank a job yeah when a doctor prescribes take one pill a day for the next two weeks take one pill a day so the prescription part if doctors going to prescribe that it's different than taking more than what the doctors prescribing or purchasing it from a friend so what you guys had is an awesome opportunity that I wish more people would be able to have future them come and say don't do this or don't make that mistake I think that's the roughest part of this experience is the fact that as like addiction is so inexperienced that everyone is more connected to and closer to than I think they ever realized I think all three of you said how can I help and that's what we need to have more how can we help and that's what we do with my presentations that I'm doing with the ox is going out there and trying to find that help for kids where could people go to get involved one of the places they can
