- [Everyone] Three, two, one! (suspenseful drumroll) - No, shut the (bleep) up, Shayne! - Carly Shay?
- Stop. - From "iCarly," right? (crew laughing)
- I hate you so much. (warm upbeat music) - A while ago-
- A while ago! - Wow.
(crew laughs) - A while ago.
- A while ago! (crew laughs) - A while ago-
- Yesterday! - Aw, dammit.
(crew laughs) A while, we cosplayed as each other, and it was a wild and embarrassing time. But the only thing that
can be more embarrassing than that is cosplaying as ourselves when we were in high school. - Ago! - We're all pretty ridiculous now. - Speak for yourself. (Shayne laughs) But when we were in high
school, I can only imagine. We didn't know each other
when we were in high school. - No, we did not. - So this is my-
- I wish, would we still be friends
if we met at high school? - This is our chance to find out, (crew laughs)
because I think, when each of us come up here dressed as our high school selves, the rest of us will be able to say, hey, I would've hung out with you, or no, I would have
stayed far away from you. I think Courtney had like 15
phases in high school, so. - I did, but the look we're
doing today is probably the most personality I had
throughout high school. The rest, I was just like, hoodies, track pants,
and an athletic watch. Like, that was my vibe.
- Oh. - It was really tragic. - That's cool.
- I'm curious about, Olivia, I actually don't
know what to expect from you. - I was very weird. - You were pop, were you popular? - No. - Neither was I. - Was, what, you were
probably popular, right? - I had friends.
- Yeah. - I had friends.
(crew laughing) (thumping music sting) - Before we begin, like and subscribe. - Yes, please.
(crew laughs) - Lick and subscrib! - And then, who wants to go first? - Me. - Oh!
- Oh! - Thank God. - Aw, and Damien isn't here. That's actually great.
(everyone laughs) - 'Cause you about to
say, arigato, I am Damien! - No, it's great 'cause I felt really bad. - It wasn't bad, you nailed it. It was a perfect impression. - I thought it was him. - That was him exactly.
- I thought he walked in. - When the cameras cut,
that's how Damien talks. - Yeah. - Arigato, I am Damien! - That's exactly what he does.
(everyone laughing) - Damien? All right, Liv, you ready? - Yeah, I'm ready! - All right, get behind those curtains. Take your time.
- Don't look at my wedgie. (everyone laughing) ("Batman" music sting) - Okay, all right. - I'm gonna predict she's
wearing her purple tracksuit. (everyone laughs) - [All Three] Three, two, one! (Courtney gasps) - What?
- Oh my God! - I dressed like you! (everyone laughing) - Flip-flops? Olivia, you wore
flip-flops in high school? - Yes, I wore rainbow
flip-flops! (laughing) - Oh my God. - My legs are really dry. (everyone laughs) - You look really cute in dresses - [Shayne] I don't know if I've
ever seen Olivia in a dress. - Yeah, I don't wear dresses. - Only for videos, maybe sketch- - Yeah, like videos, not like-
- But like, this is so cute. She's got her sweatpants on underneath. - Okay- - So I can go like this, hah! (everyone laughing) This is actually my
speech and debate outfit. (group awing) And the reason why I wore flip-flops was because I would wear
like little tiny heels in speech and debate. - Oh, so-
- And so, I would take them off and wear flip-flops. - What grade was this? Is this like, is it sophomore? - This was my sophomore year. - So you wear dresses most of the time? Or was it just for speech and debate that you would wear dresses? - Just wear dresses for speech and debate. And in normal like class,
I went through some phases. Like, my freshman year, I was so excited for like
being in high school, and I just would change clothes. I would wear two outfits to school. - Oh my God, I know what you mean, I know what you mean.
- Wait, what? - She would do with
multiple clothes outfits a day at school.
- Yes, I loved fashion so much.
- She would wardrobe changes. - I would change in third period, 'cause I would be like, just kidding, I'm not wearing this outfit. (everyone laughs) I have a new outfit in my bag! - I'm gonna say this. I don't know, I don't think
we would have been friends. - Why?
- And I'll tell you why- - Why? - I'll tell you why. I don't think we would, I think we were both probably very shy- - No! - And we would've never
talked to each other. - No. - And 'cause I didn't talk to most people. - Mm!
(crew laughing) - If we were all put into
a science project together, what would you say when
you came into our group? - That's a great one. - Me and Keith would
probably just like, hang out, and talk the whole time,
and ditch you guys, and you guys would do all the work. (Keith laughing)
- This is real! (neck squeaking) This is real!
(crew laughing) - [Keith] (laughing) What? - Wow, okay. - How would you greet us, like? - How would I greet you guys?
- How would you greet us if we were in your group science project. - Hi! - Hey, uh-
- Where do you guys live? - Um, what? - What'd you have for lunch today? - A sandwich. - What kind? - A school lunch. - What kind? - The pizza with pepperoni- - What kind? (Courtney laughing)
- Pepperoni- - The cardboard with cheese on top. - Thank you. - Cool. (laughs) - What part of the project should you do? What should we do? - Yeah, what part of the
project do you wanna do? - Let's not do any projects,
let's go, let's go have fun! (Courtney and Keith laughing) - What do you do for fun in high school? - Watch Korean dramas. Like, look at Korean pictures of boys. (everyone laughing) That's literally what I did. My entire MySpace was just like, like, my favorite Korean actors. (trio applauding) - All right, I'm gonna get this over with, so I'm gonna go next. - Okay.
- Okay. ("Batman" music sting) - All right, high school Courtney. - I'm shaking. - Are you ready to come out? - [Courtney] Yeah. - All right. - Will you go to prom with me? - [Courtney] No. - Okay.
(crew laughing) (suspenseful drumroll) - [All Three] Three, two, one! - Wow!
- Oh my God, stop. - I'm gonna take a wild guess, and say she listens to Paramore. (everyone laughs) - Never Shout Never. - (laughs) Oh. - I'm pretty sure there
are still some people that are dress like this,
and they're like 40. - Wow.
(everyone laughing) - I cannot deny, I was a
freshman in high school. - [Shayne] Okay. - I've always hated people
who wore suspenders, like- - Yeah, me too. - In general, but especially with jeans. - But did she use them? - I only did this when I
was like feeling myself. Like, I did this to like take pictures with my sister's digital
camera, like, like- - Oh no. (camera clicks) - [Keith] That was it. (laughs) (crew laughing) - I would Photoshop my
boobs to look like this now. Like, back then, I was like, I wish I had this situation
that's going on in real life. - I just can't imagine putting
on suspenders and being like, damn, like, just let it get- - 'Cause then sure, I did
this, and I was like, no, oh, wow, this is so cool, wow. - I love that you enjoyed yourself, but if I'm gonna be honest, I. (everyone laughing) Not that anyone asked me, but I'm just gonna put it out there, like, I don't think we
would've been friends. (guys laughing)
- [Woman] Just in the morning, you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really fine. - I wouldn't be anybody from this- - Wait, wait, why, why? - I would just, you're just,
you're too scary for me. I was-
- This is scary? - Oh.
- I was like, oh, she's so edgy. - But this, on the outside, only "Napoleon Dynamite" on the inside. - But you know, that's a
funny point though, is like, in high school, you identify
with so many stupid things. Like, I'm gonna wear this shirt now, and it makes me a different person. And then, but then you see
other people in high school who are dressed a certain way, and you go, they won't be friends with me because they're dressed like that. - Right. - And I'm dressed like this. - So Court, pretend we're the
popular group, and come down, like, come over and sit with us in lunch. Ask to sit with us. (Courtney gasping) Dude, can you pass me your milk? - Yeah, dude. - I like your Vans. - Oh my gosh, she might have goats. (crew laughing) - Um, are you okay?
- Can I sit with you? - Not acting like that, actually. - Okay.
- We gotta- - Yeah, you look like
you're about to hit someone. - Yeah, like, oh, come
back, come back, come back. - Come back, what are you doing? - First, we gotta ask you a few questions. - Yeah, let's see if you pass the test. - Okay. - I like you. - Have you seen "Superbad?" - Yeah. - Yes, it's 2009,
everyone's seen "Superbad." - [Courtney] So funny. - What's the best band of all time? - Owl City.
(Keith laughing) - Goddamn.
- Okay, so why don't you sit? (everyone laughing) - I love Owl City too,
I love Owl City too, do you wanna go on a car ride together? - Do you wanna go to the Roller Dome? - Yeah, no, no, yeah. (crew laughing)
- Do you wanna listen to CDs? I have found good music. - You probably don't
have the music that I- - What would be the songs that
you'd put on that mixtape? - Coldplay. - Coldplay and Owl City?
(crew laughing) - "Paradise" by Coldplay. - Hey, I'mma pass. - But then Skrillex is the next song. - Okay, great, oh. - And then Kid Cudi. - Okay.
- Which song? - "Man on the Moon Part II." - Okay, you can sit with us. (crew laughing)
- All right. (crew applauding) - Okay, who's next? Please, let me- - I will go next! - [Courtney] Okay, thank God. - Let's get it! ("Batman music sting) - Okay, ready, Keith? - [Keith] Help me down! - [All Three] Three, two, one! (suspenseful drumroll) (Courtney shouting)
- Oh, what? - Whoa!
- Oh my gosh! - These are my Jesus 11s. - Oh my-
- I love those shoes! - Look at those!
- Holy (bleep). - Keith, you should keep those shoes. - Yeah, I mean, I'm trying, these are the shoes I'm
trying to forget, like. (Courtney and crew laughing) - For real. - My thoughts about things being stylish, these were not- - No, they're gonna be back in. - No, no, no, no, no, no, I hate these, I feel like I'm going to church right now. - Is that a fedora? - Back then, I would never wear a trilby, it always had to be like a round brim. So like, I had to like turn it around just to be like true to me. - You were a cardigan guy? - Yeah, 100%, you know,
like I said, V-neck as well. - [Courtney] I love it. - I don't feel like I see
you wear white that often. - No, because my teeth are yellow, so- - I wouldn't have guessed that at all. - Me neither. - But like, I tried to
like wear like colors that like complement
my teeth a little bit. - I love this outfit so much. - Thank you! - [Courtney] The jeans,
oh my God, the jeans. - The baggy. I wore jeans exactly like that. - Hell yeah, big jeans, dude? - Right, it's just big time, yeah. And that wash, like, that color? That was what I wore. - [Olivia] Wait, I kinda want those jeans. - Theater kid? - I was like art kid, so
like, I loved to like paint, and you guys know that. And I went to performing arts school, and I was deciding if I wanted
to continue with visual arts, or to theater. - Aw!
- Aw! - I have to admit, you
definitely, that's what it is. It's that he went to an art school. - You're right. - I swear, like, I feel like kids who go to art schools dress cooler. - Yeah, if the wardrobe
person on Disney Channel was creating someone who went
to a performing arts school, this is is it.
- That's it! - This is how he would dress? - I was gonna say, he
also looks like you like, like, oh, which character
on "Glee" is this? (everyone laughing) - Okay, this is your, you are,
it's your first day in class. - Okay. - And you're meeting everybody. So, show us what you do.
- Okay. - Yeah, this is like
you introducing yourself to the entire class. - Yeah, yeah. - Oh, okay, guys, okay. Can I like walk out again? - Sure, yeah, yeah.
- Yeah. - [Keith] Okay. - They have a curtain, art
schools don't have doors, they have red curtains.
- That's how art schools are, only curtains, yeah. - Hey y'all! - Hi!
- Hi, how's it going, dude? - Hi! - Pretty good, how y'all doing? - Good!
- Good! - Are any of you guys from Cincinnati? I'm not from here. - Oh.
- Oh. - We're from California. - I'm from Arizona. - California, oh my God, I've never been out of the state before. - I'm from outer space. - Outer space? You're weird. (everyone laughing) - Aw. - You're weird, and what
are your guys' names? - Courtney.
- Courtney. - I'm Shayne.
- Shayne. Don't tell me her name,
don't need to know it. (everyone laughing) - Who's your role model?
- Trilby. - Believe it or not, Chris Rock. (everyone laughs) - Hey, you kinda look like Chris Rock! - I mean, that's what everybody tells me. You wanna see my Chris Rock impression? - Yes.
- Yeah. - Hey, good lord! - Whoa, nice!
(everyone laughing) - Wow!
- Whoa! - All of that took me back to when we watched his audition tape. - Man, that takes me back,
it takes me back to the- (everyone laughs) - Oh my God.
- I like that, it was like same energy. - It's the, guys, I'm
pretty close to like, what I was back then. - Yeah, we don't really change, you know? - Yeah, like, I've gone
through like stages, but like, at the same time,
I'm pretty much the same. And everybody's like, Chris Rock, and I'm like, okay, yeah, here we go! Yeah, okay, so who wants to go next? Oh.
- Oh, there's only one person. - It's me.
- Oh boy! - It's just me. Time to see what I looked
like in high school. - All right.
- All right. - Get behind that curtain, weirdo. ("Batman" music sting) Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! That's all. - I don't even know. I don't think I've seen a
lot of pictures of Shayne. - I have! - You have? (everyone laughing) - Yeah, creepy, right? (everyone laughs) - Okay, let's count him down. - Okay. - [All Three] Three, two, one! (suspenseful drumroll) - No, shut the (bleep) up, Shayne! - Carly Shay?
- Stop! - From "iCarly," right? Philip Brownley, Briarwood Prep. (everyone laughing) - I hate you so much. - Good job! - Why didn't you do it, you just- - All right, okay. 'Cause I thought this would be funnier. (everyone laughing) So actually though, when I was 16, this was the first job I
booked when I moved to LA. So like-
- Aw. - I didn't go to high school, so I didn't have like a high school self. I would say probably the most common was like a light blue, or
a blue, navy blue shirt, with a white long-sleeve underneath it, and then just blue jeans. Because I was often
told blue for bookings, child actors are told blue for booking. - [Courtney] That's so crazy. - I don't know why. - And like, it matches
your eyes too, I think- - And so that was also a thought. So that's mostly what I wore. So I didn't dress like a high schooler, I just dressed like I was
trying to be an actor. - Wow. - So this, when I was 16,
they dressed me in this, and I was so unbelievably goddamn nervous. - What were you so nervous? Like, what were you nervous about? - Well, this was my first job, and like, on "iCarly", it was, you know, it wasn't, there's not a studio audience, but it's still like a big set, and you go, and all the crew
and stuff are standing around, like, laughing to like
keep the scene going well. And I just remember, like,
I was the first scene up, I'm the first.
- Oh! - So it's like my first day
on a set, my first whatever, and I go and I'm just like, hey, like, and I was, I remember just like shaking, like, trying to do this scene.
- Aw! - And I was just so freaked. And then my mom, like,
my mom tells this story, and she feels so bad, but like, afterwards, I walked up to her, and I was like, how'd I do? And my mom was like, oh my
God, you were so nervous. - Aw!
- Aw! - She didn't say anything to me, but like, looking back, she's like,
oh my God, I felt so bad. - Yeah? - But then, by the time we
actually filmed it on, you know, that was like on a Monday or Tuesday, by the time we filmed on
Friday, I felt pretty good, and that's what you can
check out on "iCarly." (crew laughing) "I Might Switch Schools"
is the name of the episode. I literally said some of my
lines when I first came out. That was my first line, was, Carly Shay, from "iCarly," right? And I got a bunch of (bleep)- - 'Cause "iCarly." - It's "iCarly," but I say, "iCarly." - I say "iCarly."
(crew laughing) - Literally to the point
that in five years later, or six years later, I guest
starred on "Sam & Cat," and one of the crew members
had worked on "iCarly," and he was like, oh yeah, we all talked about how you said "iCarly" weird. - Oh!
(Keith laughs) - I was like, what? I was like, you remember
that six years later? I didn't feel like I dressed preppy, but all I booked was preppy rolls. In fact, first thing I booked was this, I played a character
named Philip Brownley. The second job I booked in LA was a movie called "Dear Lemon Lima," where I played a prep school
kid named Philip Georgey. - Wow! - So, talk about being typecast. (crew laughs) I don't know,
I had a lot of phases, but it was always me trying to like do what I thought casting
directors would want. I think I would have dressed
how I did overall dress, which was just very plainly. And I had like three shirts. I didn't have like a variety of clothing. I never went that hardcore. If I, 'cause that was
the conversation I had, is if I dressed like my
actual high school self, it would've just been so- - Yeah.
- Like, boring. - I feel like you never wanna
stand out like that much, you're always like very like- - Yeah, I was very basic, and honestly, I think a lot of dudes in
the 2000s were that way. Like, it was just like
a T-shirt and jeans. - What if we did a video where we cosplayed as our 2015 selves? - Oh, we should totally do that. Cosplaying as like ourselves
when we first joined Smosh. - First joined Smosh,
like, and how we, like, do scenes of like how we
acted around each other. - Yeah!
- Oh my gosh. - Guys, I hope you enjoyed this. Let us know in the comments what else you'd like to see us cosplay as. Our 2015 selves, our 2016 selves? Ourselves in kindergarten? Ourselves as little babies? - Little babies! Little baby Smosh.
- Let us know what you'd like us to cosplay as.
- Please. - And we've got more
goodness here for you. Some more videos, it's
just, it's a great time. - [Woman] So cool guy! - He's cool guy Shayne, yeah. - And I know, the problem is I can't stop being cool guy Shyane now. (crew laughing)
This is who I am. I'm trying to mentally transport myself back to 16-year-old Shayne, I can't. I've grown too much. (everyone laughing) But you can also check out Smosh.com. We've got some incredible clothing there that is always trendy. - Always trendy, timeless!
- Yeah, dude. - Always trendy. Cosplay as us by wearing that.
