DUMPSTER DIVING in Denton, TX – I hit the Dollar Store jackpot!

what's up everybody it is Wednesday and it's actually later than I normally dive it's 1:30 in the afternoon right now so I am off to a late start but I'm super excited hopefully we find a lot of good stuff so I just pulled over because I saw some boxes outside of a dumpster right here I've never looked in this dumpster before it but I think it's an apartment complex but it's right on the edge of the street so I'm not really sure but I'm gonna check it out and take you guys along with me kids bike helmets in it some books it's like a life vest floaty for kids and this looks like a little seat like a bicycle seat maybe but it doesn't have the rest of it with it and then these are just looks like kids clothes so I'm gonna toss this dining chairs in there and a table but I'm just gonna take this whole box right here and that way I can use it and I can put my other finds from the day in it so not a bad first stop I'm now at some other dumpsters at an apartment complex and this looks like trash in there I'm looking at this right there but I think it's broken I think this bag right here might actually be closed which I haven't found clothes in a while so that would be cool take this put it right here we can look through it I'm not gonna get this whole thing up right now I'm not sure if that's a raincoat or maybe like a tarp or something it's all really easily in this bag right here a lot of men's clothes of course white shirt actually like that all right these both smell bad they don't smell like smoke but I'm not really seeing a lot of wear and tear on these just from what I can peek at right there so I'm gonna go ahead and take this whole bag I put that wee little bag in there too and we can find out when we get home what is so here's a stepstool and then let's go I'll take it why not that'll help me get in and out of the dumpster soon okay so I'm now behind like a florist shop a store a dollar store there's like several places in the same area so this is all the back of it and I just looked in this dumpster and there's these like big work boots so maybe none of these have pears maybe that's why my recent same do it now that the same booty and this is the florist so the other day this was in my most recent video my last one I came to this thrift store and I found some vintage paintings and they were little framed vintage paintings just like of a flower vase and stuff I posted them on my Poshmark though and they've actually had more engagement than a lot of the stuff that I post and so I figured that's pretty cool I've never posted home decor on parchment before I've only ever used it for clothes and so now I'm thinking maybe I should do that more often so I'm back at that thrift store I'm gonna look for some more stuff and hopefully that's cool I'll take that tubs and boxes this is a guitar case I wonder if the zippers work I'll take it for now and check it out when I get home I'm gonna cut that one what is a caboose weird I'm gonna take this cuz this looks interesting oh no you know what it is it's like the bottom of a like a baby rocker or something okay all right no I grabbed this is a spot the difference puzzle books you like see if you can tell the difference between two photos and it doesn't look like any of them have been circled or anything so I will take this and that'll be all from here I don't know I always talk so quietly oh there's stuff [Applause] okay and with a bunch of Sour Patch Kids three souls right here [Applause] so this is just bar soap but it looks really pretty I love the packaging so these expired July 20 20 at the top you can see it says July 2020 so these aren't even expired yet it worked and it kind of looks like maybe they got wet and so they just chunked them all here's my box so far look at all those soaps and all those sour patches so one of these are a couple of the ones in here broke and so they just tossed out the whole thing so I actually just started a diet this this meat earlier this week and so I'm not gonna drink these because they have a lot of sugar in them but I am gonna have a cheat day for Halloween so I'm gonna take them for that look at this over here this whole box right here is full of Olives it looks like so stuffed Queen olives with jalapenos they expire in December 19th of this year again with this one just a couple of them broke and so they toss them all so there's the broken ones there's more broken ones down in there but I got seven jars of Olives none of them are expired and it's honestly wild that they threw out seven food bottles of them just because a few of them broke when you know that these are gonna be lined on the shelves individually so they take them out anyways they're obviously a little scuffed from getting all of juice on them it's kind of made the paper tear a little bit but you're at a dollar store already and like this would not bother me at all even at a store where you're paying full price or whatever Kroger or something that's not an issue so they threw all of these away just because a couple of them broke in that box over here they've got one two three four five six seven eight little sparkling white grape juices these are non-alcoholic they're just like grape juice you got a bunch of sour patch kids and a bunch of soap I'm gonna take another look in there just to make sure but I'm gonna throw all my stuff in the car really quick in case anybody comes okay so I took another look in this dumpster I'm not seeing anything else also just recently my grabber broke and so I'm in the process of I'm gonna buy another one but right now I don't have one so I'm just seeing what I can get with my hands and I'm not seeing anything else but what I do see which is pretty cool is like there's a lot of Halloween decor boxes I just saw one that said specifically it said Halloween decor on it and so I'm really excited oh here it is see this Halloween decorations box and so at the end of October that are gonna go on sale all of those Halloween decorations are gonna go on sale and then like probably the first week of November they're gonna throw them all away so I'm super super excited to come out right after Halloween and see what all these stores are just throwing away because they didn't sell but right now I'm super excited that's a ton of stuff from this store that's actually the most I've ever found from this dollar store especially like fully intact fully packaged still I found some candy here before but nothing ever like that so that was a really good stop I'm super excited about that and I'm excited too are those jalapeno olives let me know if you ever had those if they're good if it's worth trying I see some stuff for sure who knows if it's um ruined or destroyed or if it's still intact but I definitely see some stuff so let me hook this up here [Music] I saw I was hoping that would have something that it's empty there's a gift card so I'm gonna take these gift cards there's four they're really slimy in the Rose now I'm sure that some of these bags have usable makeup in them that maybe aren't all emptied already but I don't there we go some gift cards so I'm gonna hop in the car and I'll call these right now and find out if there's anything on them hopefully there is but I kind of doubt it sometimes there's like fifteen cents left on something so I do keep those I don't know what I'll do with them but I keep them so we'll find out so I called the Ulta gift card hotline or whatever to get the balance and it's a to that I could check on through the phone both have zero dollars on them the other two because they don't have a pin on the back maybe that means they're either like an outdated version of the gift card or their store credit or something I would actually have to take it into the old to store in order to see so I am gonna do that I'm just gonna clean them up first and I'll take them like in a watt maybe I'll make like a whole day of that of like going around to the stores to see how much is on each gift card or whatever but again typically there isn't a lot on the gift cards and for the most part there is nothing at all I think they well actually I found a twenty dollar a Victoria Secret gift card one time so definitely worth trying them sometimes there is stuff but for the most part if I'm finding them actually in a dumpster there hasn't been anything on them the two gift cards that I found that had stuff on them were like beside the dumpster at an apartment complex it was like they accidentally dropped them while they were taking their trash out or something I'm not really sure but so none of those gift cards had anything on them but still pretty cool I'm gonna check a few more shops and then I'll probably call it a day this is another group store that I just recently found that throws away a whole lot of stuff and so I'm just gonna take a look I don't have my gloves because they were covered in makeup and so I just didn't I didn't want to wear them keyboard it looks really nice I don't know if keyboards even have value anymore but I'm gonna take this there's some flowers how cute all of those that's really cute yeah all of these are just little cloth flowers what else two hangars one tray all right I'm not gonna look in that one because I don't have clothes on I don't want to accidentally grab any glass or anything like that so that one looks kind of like it's like bags or something I'm not seeing anything else that's really noticeably something that I want to take so it's been a decent amount of time and I feel like I have a lot of stuff especially for just 2 and 1/2 hours if that's really all that it's been I'm so stoked about my Dollar General stuff or no I'm sorry it wasn't Dollar General it was a dollar store Dollar Tree it was a dollar store I'm not sure what it was called but all the soaps and sour patch kids and all that kind of stuff so I'll go home I'll lay it all out and I'll show you what we got I'm home so I have everything all laid out this is a better hole than I realized it was in the beginning I'm actually really really excited about it um and the clothes which I guess I'll start with are actually like really awesome pieces so they're it's just all these like graphic mins tees most of them are size extra-large but this is like an actual National Lampoon's Christmas vacation um there's just like all these really nice tees a lot of like Marvel and x-men and that's an adidas one um like Wonder Woman and there's some Zelda shirts so all of these I'm really excited about my very favorite shirts that I found in that bag are right over here this is a Rock'em Sock'em shirt which I really love hi Pig this is a Jurassic Park shirt and it is vintage so it's the down here 1992 so there's a vintage Jurassic Park teeth size extra large and then this PlayStation shirt super cool it's an authentic PlayStation shirt and the last one that I really loved which I think I already showed y'all when I was finding it is this Coors Light shirt it's just really lightweight and soft it feels vintagey I doubt it is but it's a extra-large as well and that's a coarse light tea and I really really like that one it's super soft okay what else so this is all the soap these are all bar soaps and that's what they look like they say sugar soap works oh that actually smells really good Wow okay that smells amazing I know what oatmeal smells like I don't know what verbena smells like verbena I don't know but it's super super good that smells awesome and it's like really fresh and these some of them are probably gonna be effected by getting water on it or whatever it is like this one you can see there's that orange on the edge of it so I'm not gonna be able to sell all of these but I definitely can use them for ourselves keep them in the guest room so we never run out of soap and that kind of stuff so there's the keyboard it has this on the end so it's not one that you can just like plug into any laptop or MacBook I'm not sure if that's just for a desktop or what but this keyboard is really really nice it still has the plastic so you can peel this off and it would be like very clean underneath there still so that's pretty cool we've got the sour patch kids I already stopped by a friend's house and I gave her a lot of them and some of the olives and stuff so there aren't as many as I originally showed that I took but these Sour Patch Kids they're just the boxes are warped by getting wet by something but the great thing about these is oh so even though the boxes are messed up they're still perfectly good because they've been sealed inside the plastic and they're not open during anything like that so these are gonna be just sobbing and here's the olives I have six jars here there are Queen olives stuffed with jalapenos and the Martinelli's sparkling white grape juice those are gonna be really good there are a few kids tops in that box that I found that was on the side of the road kinda like a curb alert so there's three cute little girl t-shirts the kids helmet which it looks like it's in great condition I mean it looks like maybe it's been used because there's a little bit of hair in there like the pet hair but you can tell it hasn't been in any type of wreck the exterior is still really nice it's not scratched at all so that's really cool there were a lot of books in that box and a lot of them are like religious or spiritual books if they're an adult book then they're like of the spiritual onra but there were also all of these young adult kid books and these are really nice books they're hardbacks um The Lost Property Office I'm not sure if they're like mystery or what but there's so many of these and they just look like really nice hardback young adult fiction books so those are really cool I'm gonna take these over to a place in Denton called recycled books and they buy your old books then this is the kid's floatation it has the little arm holes and then you like latch it around the back so that's kind of cute summer is over not sure if that'll sell quickly but I'll probably just keep it and put it in my next garage sale this is the first state quarters of the United States collectors map 1999 through 2008 and it's in nice condition too there are no quarters in it but I still think this is really cool it's very big it's probably like two feet across and I bet somebody would buy this on eBay so that's cool I'm excited about that one pretty awesome and what else oh this um was the guitar case that I found and if the zipper is broken so it it was zipped when I originally found it i unzipped it in the zipper popped right off and you can see how it's been like cut right here so the zipper just doesn't work anymore but that's that one and there you have it today's haul I'm super excited oh look pilgrims playing with the toy that I found him in the Petco dumpster do you love it drop it so this is the one that I found him the other day and he really likes it a lot as you can see so that's awesome and yeah there you go so there you have it my haul from this afternoon I honestly am really excited about it I think all of this stuff is super cool and I just love finding things it doesn't matter what it is it's so it's such an adrenaline rush to find things and then just the realization that people throw all this stuff away like all of this stuff all of this super nice soap all the canned all is all these really nice books leaked someone just threw all of them away it's crazy to me it's so wild so if you have stuff that you're you don't want anymore or your house is feeling cluttered and you want to get rid of stuff please um please donate that stuff or have a guard sell and sell it and then donate what you don't sell but please do not just throw it away we waste so much um I always knew the Americans because I where I'm from in America wasted food and I never realized until I started diving how much non-food items that we waste as well like books and clothes if everything so please don't throw any of your stuff away if you want to get rid of it donate to somebody who could benefit from it or sell it for yourself and make some money so that's what I do and it works out great so you do the same just make sure you don't throw your stuff away okay one last part I forgot to show y'all what was in that weird plastic bag that like looks like maybe it was a tarp or something it's a Coleman rain outfit so there's a whole coat that I have one right now it also comes with pants so a full rain outfit and then yeah it's inside of this bag so cool it's Coleman which I know is like a well-known brand and it looks like it's in really nice condition it's obviously wrinkled but it doesn't really look like it's damaged in any way so pretty cool there's that last thing that I forgot to show you and I thought maybe something would be curious so I figured I would in
