welcome to new Harry's video this one I'm now going to feature the tractor hopefully if watch is sort of part one where I've talked around the combine how that works now I want to introduce you to sort the New Age of tractor where tractors have got to in 2018 this isn't a monster tractor so a mid raise 150 170 horsepower tractor but it had some other sort of up-to-date features that you now have on tractors today but before we start back in the barn I've got an old gray Fergie I just want to give you a tour of where it all started first so this is the basis of all tractors you see around today this is that the grey Fergie's is no Massey Ferguson this was produced from 1946 to 1956 and it has a remaining number of sort of pointers on this that for the future the key one being it had hydraulics on it and at the back there's these arms that come up and down an exactly the same on the case today controlled by our choice that was the big thing that this gray Fergie introduced it was incredibly basic your brakes it was here handbrake there's just a little thingy on the ratchet Dave McKean and that's a handbrake can't remember the size of Emily's it's all 30 horsepower something like that I'll lift this up there's the diesel tank water up the front air cleaner oil base just a hand throttle here full speed gearbox this is a late addition to having a hoop you had no cab on the seat so now we have the S spring seats but the fact was it introduced hydraulics and that's everything that's all tumble through to where we are today also what's pointed out it was two wheel drive pleated tires just the same sort of design as you see today but two wheel drive because it was all about maneuverability and they didn't really have the horsepower to need four-wheel drive right let's get back to the case okay now we're back with a case again remember that gray fo yes 70 years old now compared to this but as I say there are some things some similarities but some being major changes first of all basically all tractors are now four-wheel-drive their traction devices they have the horsepower they need the four-wheel drive then there's the engine which is completely changed this is a six-cylinder six point nine litre diesel intercooled turbocharged engine and also has a 24 valve head it's a very different tires they're enormous now compared to that little grey figure the tars probably came up to here now they're these monsters is these are 38 Delta they're 650 wide much much bigger than they were and we've got a cab air-conditioned cab or insulated no noise drive it forever s bronze beef seating that sort of thing for your tank huge fuel tank 330 liters of fuel and blue because it's 2018 euro for on these mud guards etc so you see well what's with you know what's the similarity to that grey fogey well we just go around the back and have a look there and there are some key features that are still the same as on the grey fergie okay right first thing that hasn't changed since in 70 years so these arms you carry implements on these and the hydraulic control and go up and down like greater you know the Box in it now we put all sorts of things on these that can carry big weights as well fertilizers sprayed as you but sprayers on you can put cultivators on the PTO drive that coming out at the back of the gray fergie is exactly the same here we also have a hitch now for taking trailers difference now being that this I can low to the ground using the arm the hydraulic press at the arms put it on the ground take it off go and put another one on and then lift it up with the hydraulics so some things haven't checked on the hydraulics we got spool vales and things but as soon as that massey introduced hydraulics that was the takeoff of where the tractor is today any way to control this thing we're gonna take you inside have a look around the cap because that is a complete sea change and especially just in the last few years now this is where the big change has been tractors and also on transmissions and things like that quite hot today so I'm actually gonna start it up starts on a key pretty normal first thing you'll notice is as I look out the front I've got no instruments whatsoever because they've all migrated either into the column like this so I have a clear view out they've also tucked the exhausts behind the pillar as well this is this thing all starting up and this is the other big change retractors today gone are the sort of dials and tacho and speed I've got a little tacho up there but actually I just have all my controls here and I have this one controller here which I moved back as the force bit like the combine but this time I would give box on here I'd fallen reverse I'll show you in a minute I'd do everything on there I mean it is completely different and when you first get anything it's small don't know how anything works absolutely it's so simple to operate it's untrue but it's just getting Eve first off right when you actually see out amazing visibility out as well with the one piece window at the front the sideways just have doors either side they've sort of shrunk it does it's like an emergency - or normally this acts like a window but it's just extraordinary how much glazing that got I've actually got a little window here just gives me vision if I had a loader on the front I can look at the roof and see stuff like that I don't really tend to use it what else is there to show you in the oh the seat so if I'm working behind behind there we go I could I swing around everything swings around with me folk that helps me I'm going to look out the window the back a lot or not have it at this sort of angle and it has to sort of throw back so when you do plow in things like that I don't tend to do much of that we're on grain cutter I'm gonna get this trailer back to the shed and getting tipped so I'm gonna drive off that in that direction no you still have a clutch but I have nineteen forward speeds can't remember how many were something like seven or something like that right it's a set off this thing I do I have a clutch any time I use the clutch I bring it out of park ri4 in forward in this case I can actually use Ford reverse shot all day and I go to move on I use the hand throttle and away we go and I'm setting it off I see and sip now I can press a button down here it's got grain trailer on it and that means everything is automatic now I just set off and it'll do the gear change as and when it it deems necessary the other thing I find amazing retractor like this I'm just shuttling around I'm turning over I got to do to go backwards let's press backwards press backwards on the gear lever Oh suddenly I'm going backwards now I'll change my mind I want to go back to the grain soon press that button do nothing remarkable how they've changed not a horsepower this is 150 r18 I gave at the combine they have these two sort of cities that have a rated horsepower and a max power this is 115 boosts up to 175 190 on the PTO really very clever and I have behind me I have about about 14 tons of there 5/10 rate I've got about 19 tons in the trailer behind me attractive weighs six and a half so about 25 tons handles it like you wouldn't believe no problem at all this this I had a JCB fast-track for this and that has sprung axles but then it just compromises slightly on tracksuits you can't have the bigger tires and wheels this is God so what they do on a track like this is have a sprung cab and a monster air sprung seat a bit like we saw on the combine as well and then they get this they still have the speed capability this is 50 kph distractor top speed I just do this and it'll soften through the gears we're up to 15 here now 16 17 we're doing about 30 clicks down here I can see on here I can see what's been doing into template all I'm using nine a few an hour during 3.5 kilometers per liter where else is the engine power musing 23% of engine so it's just playing with this thing and it's over 20 tons Namastey would just collapse on the filter try to tell tray like this this thing just made some mincemeat I can't get over how much tractors have changed the stepless gear chains huge revolution because you're not in between gears I'm not touching the club's if I'm doing a heavy draft operation I'm not going to touch that clutch because I'm always in the right gear I've got a choice of 19 and I'll just change them on a button on here or leave it in Auto take my pick but I'm gonna reverse into that trailer operation behind so I'll choose reverse and back we go the horrible back in two different heights and writer these buttons the dividing wall halfway down just the cats people attacked marriage there was that laxatives just put some light to me so I actually press the clutch here since leaving the field in I'll just nudge up it's around you feel the weakest and they sort of slow up it goes back into the week it's already there and there it's bright or in the we touch neutral and then hydraulics or hydraulic tailgate want to treat you to like this and lift it up that goes up on this joystick and take the trailer no need to get out the cab anymore keeping the dust free and conditions environment no dust I can't tell you how much nicer that is that it used to be we've dumped 12 tonnes a week some new neutral I actually touch this to go forward or undo it from the future it's used the cool more Amani they getting through the roof at the top of the trailer because I'd be embarrassing [Music] my fears on dump trailer comes down swings right coming down I want sex damn closed hydraulic tailgate the game that's it now our backs are combine go get another life I'm not going to do that we're going to do is just put a cultivator on now and then just show you what it's like in the field doing a different sort of job okay so I've dropped the crane trailer off when I flipped on this Magister I'd carry a cultivator which is the thing we use straight after the combine failed and the bales need to go we chopped straw it goes in and it just mixes soil and you're trying to get the bees to germinate and they spray it off before drilling so that's this general plan in action but just shows the versatility of tractor modern punch tractor unit this is just a power plant to stick all sorts of things on do all sorts of jobs around the farm that's what they get used for these days and again all this automation makes life of it very easy I've control it again on the joystick rather than a separate spool vows in the field here we go doesn't mad for this machine yeah I find a field press neutral and I put the Machine down the state an anti reverse this will now right and the wings come down as you see there there we go and there we are right head forward we drive lower into work four-wheel drive and all that sort of thing no it's all automatic bit sensors it needs for a drive do it no setup bit night I like to use this cultivated about 11 kilometers an hour conscious 12 on there we got a world and I'll just sort of balance how much fuel I want to me it's on a 1820 because of that slid on 67% of engine power then go down again but now 25 liters are ours I'm better off in a higher gear Alex well that's right 13 at lower rates let's see where that takes us going to English so actually I'm better off in 12th gear are you 19 Lisa's a nap go another two neat trick this thing so what I get for headland at this crazy steering I can change the steering ratio my calamari practiced a bit rock it down the field here flemish monkeys I've got to do a shot turn it again and what it's done by orphanage this is actually all electronically monitored power steer I'm half a turn lock to lock that I look at the front wheels of the road and I do a turn it's half of lock on I'm a full unlock alternate circle like that I'd almost turned back into my own word by that you wouldn't normally do turn the other way and I'm back working again that's such a handy feature to have and attract by these I mean I'm having to steer it and put it in its position for next 5,000 6,000 and top I could be satellite control and I can actually press a button and it will lock onto the satellite and I want to turn back into work if it would have turned it in exactly the right line of a live Apollo take my hands off and the satellite wall it's on on that line and you get this perfect field with no overlaps okay it saves on work really clever I haven't actually created that summers are they've really like to sit on this traps I will do this tractor is around a seventy thousand detractors the Bordeaux about which I think for the amount of techotl he's a bit but bargain compared to what you get assembly thousand car there you go there's a first sort of insight into modern tractor on on this I'm sort of thinking of calling it Harry's farm the ease of interest to do some of the farm operations and see how it taking prop through the year and take some notes on the comments below this week see what you think in the meantime thanks for watching the people change more videos will be coming on very soon you
