[Music] [Music] it is important that you familiarize yourself with all operating controls follow these steps to make sure the unit is in proper working order for its next use make certain all safety decals are in [Music] place inspect all operator protection rubber flaps on the underside of the unit remove debris and dirt and be sure they are securely fastened in good working order the owner's manual can be found in the tube attached to the unit's frame [Music] check all of the unit's cutter teeth make certain they are fitted properly and that any dull or damaged teeth are replaced [Music] to refresh the cutter teeth loosen the lock nut and tap down the bolt to unseat the tooth separate the tooth from the detent in the pocket and rotate to one of three positions [Music] once positioned properly draw the tooth back into the detent so the tooth cannot rotate and tighten the lock nut to 20 foot pounds grease the pillow block bearings for the cutter wheel shaft and make sure to wipe off any excess grease [Music] this should be done every 20 hours of [Music] use [Music] there are three methods for quickly shutting down the unit the engine on off switch the cross brace stop switch [Music] and the operator presence bar along with its connected switch make certain that all three are in working order by ensuring that all three shut off the engine when engaged inspect the brake assembly and make sure it keeps the right hand wheel from turning when in the locked position [Music] be sure that the tension of the brake assembly lever is set properly this can be done by loosening the set screw on the handle knob [Music] and turning the knob clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease tension [Music] once adjusted properly re-tighten the set screw be sure to inspect the unit's tires and to check the tire pressure for each [Music] don't forget to reinstall the valve stem cover the tires for this unit are recommended to be kept at 60 psi check the engine's oil level a service schedule chart is located in the manual for this unit the oil should be changed every 100 hours of use or every 6 months whichever comes first [Music] when fueling make sure the area around the fuel cap is clean and clear of debris fill the fuel tank outdoors never inside remember not to fill the fuel tank completely leave at least one inch of space for the fuel to expand check to be sure the handlebar adjustment is working so that all five positions can be utilized if needed use compressed air to blow off excess dirt and dust [Music] wipe off the engine at oil and fuel areas also clean around the air cleaner check the belt tension every 40 hours that the unit is used [Music] remove the belt cover and inspect the belt for wear and tear [Music] while checking belt tension also check for proper alignment consult the manual for procedures and specifications [Music]
