alright 3 2 1 go [Applause] it's the dkc3 103 right off the bat we're actually gonna get our first trick which is gonna be wrinklies to get so he was asked to do here is he has to save the game he's going to try to leave at the exact same time we he saves the game didn't get but it's not like a huge deal and the reason you have to save the game this category is because if you don't you're going to stop luck at the very end of the run when you try and get into the final credit sequence yeah the trick just things like four seconds it skips that little like showing you the progress screen yeah this is a 103 active is just to get everything all bonus coins all banana birds all DK coins pretty much everything you can imagine and get the final ending at the end of the game so we're gonna have the first bonus coming up pretty soon here you gotta throw kitty at this crack anything to break into it oh it's the only time that tech is ever used in the entire run so hope you enjoyed it so we've the first bonus here which is collecting stars gotta grab all the stars Christ you can they're actually these bonuses are really hard to off the mines especially when he used Dixie she's a smaller hitbox them Kitty and that's our first DK coin so the Kim accordi K coins in this game is that every DK coin is guarded by an enemy called a coin and you must defeat the coin with this field keg unlike in dkc2 where the decayed coins are kind of like scattered about everywhere it's just that's the only way he could be d faker wins in this game and kind of hurts the variety of it but some of the puzzles are interesting so here we're seeing the first green banana bonus to this game and DS brittle these bonuses are particularly infamous would be orangey base so it's the time you get but also in your reaction time yeah I'll go to a bit more detailed agreement and Buzz is in future one there's Ellie's great by the way about latest you spoil yeah there's a lot of green banana on this is amol - yeah thank you but I have bonuses are pretty much the biggest incidence of orangey and just run except his doorstop - behind this level he's got to pull these levers to open the doors and it's a lot trickier than it looks because the less time you spend on the levers just the faster you can go because you just want to open at the bare minimum out or just squeeze under it yeah as little as that particularly difficult actually even though it's the second level in the game because getting past some of the buzzes in the stage can be quite tricky and that doors - yeah here's another star boys we do with Dixie's its own it's a really difficult line and again you just want to open the door for the least amount of time as possible 22 is pretty good we good what you want to see so there's actually four kinds of bonuses in this game there's the stars and the bananas that we saw there's also find the token which is just to reach the end that'll be the second bonus in this stage and there's bash the baddies we have to kill all the enemies to make the point up here don't think I didn't see that you hit the halfway pair of that cause like I don't think it does no I got it maybe like one frame yeah that's fine yeah look at glan says first to collect the point clean bonus but it's pretty trivial just gonna collide over the buzzes and that's it well the bonus was early on are pretty straightforward for the most part but towards the annex I'm kind of difficult we're seeing void pickup a bear coin there unlike a DC to the bear coins are actually required to get a 3% escape they're required to buy two items that we need later to get banana Birds which cost a total of 55 but using a bit of abuse we can do with 55 and the barely no more later but earth coin was a fair coin rat was recently renovated like if in the past two years to get all the bare coins by the end of world 5 previously it was just collected by the end of World AIDS let's get more about that when we get there truly the greatest RPG on the Sonesta currency side quest it's got everything you need more airship yeah which is also good so it's been doing this Simon Says cohere the pattern is random for every single Cove so he's gonna have to just memorize what's shown on screen it's a bit more complex later on the run and if you complete stick it's a banana bird and like the true objective actually of this categories is to get all 15 banana birds in order to get the true ending but it's just in the process of getting all the banana birds we end up getting everything else in the game so here on time from here this is the first level where you can move along between water and land and the trick is loan you want to be in the water as little as possible because you're really really slow on water especially in this level because there's actually a current that pushing to the left so you like you're even slower here than you normally would be that's the first appearance of on guard in this game long guards really really Opie in this game we'll talk a bit more about him later but it's in a lot of work yeah he bumped up from dkc2 basically as long as he's lunging if you touch anything it dies yeah and even never touched his tailors does he making sense he's on guard just for that buzz and you're already back to the Kong's as I said she's the bottom over larger according going to do it on applause getting to bear coins you just get those Barry coins as a result of national movement don't really have to go out of your way for that and here you're supposed to use Kitty's waterscape ability in order to enter this bonus but you can just glide over with Dixie and it's faster this bonus is really hard by the way you have to hold right and why and you just beat it automatically nice job boys Thanks so often we'd be doing this stage is only one Kong because there's a mechanic in this game where every time you enter a barrel you only want to do with one Kong optimally because you have to wait for the second Kong it to enter the barrel as well the four marathon safety has two Kong just in case it takes damage before did there was uh what I call just defended I'm so glad that term took off all the way but what you do is you press back as soon as you roll into a Crim a crimp which is the name of that enemy he just killed and allows you to just roll through him through the front and get a bit of a speed boost you want to do it there an order to get a bear coin actually pretty easy there because the ice physics push you along yeah you keep your momentum yeah what's being a at least one more that later in the run and the ones later on and the wrong are the trickier yeah so another DK coin there again for the first few DQ coins I just put the steel keg right next to the coin but later on he's going to have to let go out of his way to get steel tag and some of the gimmicks have been interesting [Music] this level or the supposed to be a bit scary so if you just touch any enemy during any bonus you just fail it on Mac when you have to retry retrying some bonuses aren't too bad but later on you might not even be able to retry you'll have to like replay the entire level in order to do so all right coming up is the most famous level in world 1 this is a murky mill it contains a trick called le skip always gonna be doing a marathon safe route where he's going to beat the stage first in order to be able to start select out of the level and what he's going to do is going to re-enter he's going to go for the trick until he gets it because the intended strategy for this level is just to play as Ellee the elephant and le elephants really slow because she's afraid of mice and she has to pick up barrels and all that this trick is probably the hardest trick in the run actually played ping in world 1 yeah yeah involves too precise jump and you have to release down in a to frame yeah you notice them pressing up right against the wall and kind of spinning ready to get to the top and that's all just to prep for the proper spacing and timing of the jumps and the momentum and an immediate idea behind this levels that you're supposed to be playing his Ellen she's afraid of these sneaks which are the names of the rice and but she can't see them unless it's lit so she most the time it's in the dark that she's like scared and whatever it doesn't matter cuz this plays the Kong's then they're not afraid of anything and here he's supposed to like used Ali and her trunk to hit the the buzzes but excuse the calling it's a little bit slower that's right is not easy yeah it's actually a lot tighter than it looks as you pass through the level you can just see like all the stuff that Ellie would have to like slow down for like there she'd have to get a barrel and then take out the that snake and take this barrel all the way over underneath it's gone yeah waiting for them to jump up and then she's supposed to use her suction ability to grab the steel tag to take out the buzzes but he just jump over them if you're a Kong even if you are Eliot's faster than off too bad oh yeah you just DPS with a buzzing has been I remember yeah alright this was our first boss of the game is uh Belcher so just the same as the neighbors saying just gonna feed him to knickknacks and I'll take him out there is a glitch in the North American version where his teeth will fly out the game just won't like him anymore of it he didn't get it it's frame-perfect yeah like right as the barrel touches the ground again mm-hmm if he had gotten that he would have to jump in the pit try again good pretty good one we got a quick one and then after this next level we'll be okay 78 donates $500 it's pretty swell nice nice booth has been looking forward to this boy to beat the world record it's bit of a tall order their first dip in the run here he's gonna do is he's gonna broke throat Dixie and have kitty bounce on the sneak and that'll allow Kitty to move independently from Dickstein very nice from there to bollig screen far enough so that it pushes Dixie into the wall because Dixie can take the screen losses in the air she gets pushing the wall she moves straight up and though she's no longer in the wall then you can move up in them yeah it's if that particular zip is found somewhat recently there's a more famous tip then trying to dick like maybe the last few based on the information he's gained so far and he'll be trying to do that for pretty much everything banana bonus in the run in order to just trying to be as fast possible and of course like the better you get those bonuses it's like reflects on your time yeah there's a river spot race the speed run level of the speed run there's even a time her in the bottom right the goal here is gonna be to beat up rash the Bears PB of 115 which he'll definitely be doing he's really good will be getting maybe like a one flat time maybe a 101 time and yeah it's I still believe that's another green banana bus or a three and each spawn here this is definitely one where I keeping track of what spawn can influence your time with quite quite a bit yes absolutely we first I guess you saw Justin Murphy mill this is the first time it's actually done in like a actual RTA run he's going to beat the stage first and he's going to play through about the first half of the level then when he's collected everything he needs he's going to starts like out because there's really nothing in the second half of the level to get so it's just faster do like this so is there a difference between squeals and snakes of that oh no I mean there's just sneaks but wheels on wheels they didn't call the levels sinks on wheels yes wheels and wheels flows better I have a question this is a hotly debated topic kitty Conger Donkey Kong who's the better of the two you made the right question back for y'all it has been brought to my attention what kind of song does the Kremlin access the bonus and hopefully grab a bear coin they're worth noting here is he switched to Dixie to sack Dixie so that he can play this level as Kitty cuz this mechanic where when Dixie jumps off and like lands on the platform expires peak of her jump and she like stumbles a bit and can't act for a few frames Kitty doesn't have that Zoe since this is a vertical level and we're gonna jump up at a lot it's much faster he was getting in it than Jesse it's interesting how it turns out that like kitty is larger than Dixie but he's more nimble it feels yeah net more nimble yeah grab this 50 Kong cuz I'm gonna try to Dodger be later on and if only have one Kong can be pretty monk as you can die it's a good idea yeah yeah it's not too much threat of dying in this run as a whole it's very easy to take unintentional damage but uh there's still a threat of like stuff like failed bonuses and all that which in Causton the first cycles of these jumping spiders wouldn't be possible with Dixie yeah no weakling squawks for a brief bit for this got it during the bonus that's 20 wanted three tongs yeah yeah the hitboxes look really weird they actually don't have a hitbox in their head only in the body and sings responses hitboxes Dominic said it's very peaceful especially in later levels for you are primarily blocks or block you have foxes the purple parrot will be staying later on and six one you'll see it'll on gear right there I spilled many runs yeah because you have to react to the randomness the green bananas sometimes you can just accidentally do the wrong movement Ramage through to the banana bird cave of these of this world and now he's up being the stage so we can start select out of it just like in the previous two levels and he's going to be doing the second la skip of the run thought you probably talked about that right yeah so after he does his banana bird first he's going to oh yeah Thanks they're gonna be skipping Ellie again in this level there's a fairly recent setup that was found last year by Glenn Bell yeah yeah and it involves uh we're gonna get that DK pearl let's at the beginning sneak it under the B and then tossed it in the water and that allows to stand on top of it and reaching the fight necessary to team throw up there yeah so a little subtlety with this is that you actually have to wait for the barrel to sink into the water and off of that le barrel is off-screen enough to be spawn before you can throw because you're not throwing over the barrel here yeah the way we used to do this was so miserable before you'd have to go in that barely just not went into and then like Thierry grow up very nice very well done yeah after like team throw on the ledge and it was like very inconsistent and like that setup he just did like is is very very very good as we called it a game chain it's like less than a second it's point seven a second slower but I mean that Rikki's to be awful like you have to reset into like more than first Drive but getting first try the old one was very different when they found the cannon list set up it's like it loses time but it was four seconds but it makes them free thank you yeah exactly so we're supposed to be playing this level as Ellie but hey we're at the Kong's and the Kong's can navigate this much better than Ellie can just like in one five an era he threw the tin can but the coin wasn't loaded on the screen so the steel keg just bounced off the wall and then he load the coin and it hit him on the recoil and just got the DK coin like that pretty cool trick this bone specialist why skipping Ellie is really important well this is also why like his game is so laggy he had ample like the game doesn't expect you to have to Kong so you're supposed to have the elephant Ellie you can't sink in the water so the attendant strat is to bounce off of tools also in this game you have to starts like when you come out of a bonus I'm like in 102 or you can just start select on the coin it's the second boss of the run alright alright no thing that has killed many many many wrong exactly's guy's a jerk exactly the same as in any percent but uh sometimes has a mind of its own that's very saw me land between those two pools of green jello they don't have that box please so we take advantage of that it's gonna be showcased more in the nother level later so that was kind of interesting he had to change the barrel type uzuki was shooting out to the steel tagging or and take out the coin a Japanese version you can just shoot the the switch order to take it out but uh North American version looking to fight it at the time feel free yep you always go through the rope there is no chance of grabbing from underneath we can just get over there so if you're along f1 Kong there you can make that cycle when you're as if you have both you get like delayed just enough by the barrel lag to I say you have like a small window right where you could possibly sink through but it's usually too tight to be worth it well I guess if you have the use beats of mass or something yeah yeah Justin's be similar we do pick up takes you there to get this bonus faster you don't actually lose time on that barrel because you have to wait I'll be doing the rest of the stage with one calling there is a glitch in the North American version well sometimes you'll grab like a phantom rope like right here he's doing safer movements to avoid it and you'll just feel like stuck in the bazooka kills you this Thursday there's a consistent way to avoid it but yeah especially because in this level half ways off to the side like you there's no chance you're gonna get it yeah all right this is Logie labyrinth jump really high view also move pretty slowly this is one of the longest levels in the entire run just because of that mechanic I'll be doing another just defend here in order to uh skip a pretty slow jump very nice also very difficult because everything's have speed so your mistakes our choices possibly that's fair coins not in the official round why you got it it's a shameful bear coin no shame yeah here's gonna be doing ad boost to enter the first bonus little bit earlier ideally you're supposed to get the clocks the purple parent and backtrack but by doing this D boost you can enter it faster and you're going to have Kitty for this bonus which means you're gonna have Kitty's larger hitbox in order to collect the star as much faster than other pair would be able to this bonus is still impossible you miss harridan looks really good that is optimal yep very nice it's funny I mentioned the bonus is impossible and they I do it perfectly yeah that's our void it'd be impossible possible mrs. clock to the purple Perry's wall Xbox except he can't fire any shots but he can pick up barrels he's like these nice box except worse [Music] just go yeah the mashing here is pretty intense the fast you mash the faster you can gain Heights second bonus we will be playing a sports in this one this one's a little bit harder than it looks just because Fox moves in slow motion and if you missed a shot here pretty hard to recover just cuz it's like this so off-center it also takes them like 10 years to turn around yeah yeah well so for some reason this level in this level only when you complete a bonus you don't like see the bonus peril like warping you out you just like kind of just appear I don't know why that is maybe just has to do with like the mechanic at the stage or whatever big they're just beast blocks here it's kind of strange yeah I've done this a few times and I've never like paid attention to that I just yeah it is only this level also one nice thing I don't think we really mention just a small detail for the casual fan is that unlike the other two games there are always just two bonuses and one coin like there's no except for comatose right avoid did a little trick there where he turned around before touching the sign and like moved into it with his momentum actually seems like a boat a second here yeah this is how slowly move it's not Iran's BST okay closer to where you need to throw the coin at eBoost was not intentional yeah coming up is chaos this is one of the most iconic boss fights in the category is going to be going for a trick called one cycle and as you think you have to beat the boss in one cycle it's because of a North American exclusive glitcher you can do infinite team throws where you can bounce off the cow's head and just keep the team throwing Dixie and hit him infinitely he's gonna want to hit him on a sixth time this that's pretty precise yeah all my heck Wow incredible what a legend yeah that's it really recovered I'd like a setup itself is difficult to maintaining it to recover from messing up the setup that was awesome that was yeah cuz I was too low but like luckily I got bounced to the right if I got bounced to the left I would have not gotten it yeah it's very easy just like it get bounced off and then just Dixie falls off and you just have to wait a cycle I'm glad I'm gonna get that trick as I did it in my race against one shots the blonde by the way uh sgq 2016 I went for it but I didn't get one water I'm pretty sure they're the same so having Kitty in front Harry isn't that big of a detriment for avoiding enemies you'll be giving a very small skip to get a to bear coins it's just faster to take that shortcut through the beef anyways this however is pretty tight to be a little difficult to get through very easy to get bumped swimming in general in dkc games you want to avoid acceleration the corner before you had one Kong he died this time yeah it's fine you're fine this is a really good example of how overpowered on guards hitbox is like he's just mashing the button he's just taking out all all the fish with like no issue at all I guess it looks like it might be a little bit scary like what if you do like accidentally gets hit but like no it's what we're chilling I've never seen anyone even feel that bone is like really okay you've seen it or please tell me you didn't I've done it silly awkward way to make him feel bad Claud you realize you just said that to probably a least talk soon yeah well you don't have to play as Ellie in this game well dude you don't have to play as much with Bella right you'll have strong opinions over there I'm just saying it's years years and years of pent-up frustrations let's talk about some good animal buddies like perry the parallel bird here this is his first appearance it's actually not required that you get him in this level but uh he'll make the second bonus a lot faster due to the fact that we'll be making collecting stars a lot easier he was doing some skips with the team throw mechanic yeah that's not intended at all yeah those who don't keep throw-up in the right spot yeah so see you can ask the parrot just plucking stars like automatically and these are just holding right here yet holding right and why again yeah Perry will begun a few more times later on the run and rolls a lot more important because he'll be turning into bonus barrels needed to do the bonus that's not the intended way to get that coin right you're something you know you're supposed to make use of those yeah all right creeping clasps so we're actually we keep playing as Kitty for a small amount here even though Kitty jumps off of ropes bit slower we're gonna be stacking them pretty quick here because you don't have two phones in this level it does cause more lag but if you do this fear you just be a bonus right away I mean a little bit faster a little bit that just Roman era collage mostly you're just getting rid of Kitty because you need it in the previous level ya don't have solo Dixie here we're gonna actually pick them up again later even though he blanks along in this yeah yeah because unfortunately need them for the next level and if it wasn't they're sacking sacrifice or if you're a football manager and you're up to that that's how they actually get rid of them in Europe I think I'm not sure though if there's any year confirm that's what you do to a manager I'm surprised you know that much already yeah yeah I mean that's what happens I've been polluted by evil like there already bonus is pretty straightforward just blood under the clasp there and just go straight to the bones : not too much going on at the end of the stage there's a trick called the recoil roll but she probably going for a pretty easy name percent but in 103 because you come out of the bonuses the Niblo which is the fish in the water level is tracker barrel track this is probably the hardest level in world 4 I mean the official war is that this is world 3 and mechanize has world 4 bands every speed around this game you to uh Mecca notices the third world stuff I always called this world for okay I'm gonna swap through Kitty once again so that I can collect me as far as easier yeah you need Dixie for her glod billion or to end the bonus when you want kitty for his large hitbox for this bonus almost fortunate yeah yeah having kitty in front is nice because you go to be doing a damage boost or to skip a track or barrel here as well he's going to be maintaining Phila Dixie here for the entirety level in order the barrels faster but we can't avoid a Le here in this stage because le will turn into a very important item at the end level which will be the steel keg needs to defeat the coin more to get the coin deeply so yeah this level can be pretty scary because you're doing most a bit full in Kong so entering the bonus and the bonus here we're going to see a little bit of tech where if you try to support water with Ellie well she doesn't have any to support it actually kills her upward momentum yeah trunk and handling yeah the official name is the official Laura yeah ain't any hit here will be a big at the midway in pretty sure yeah I did it won't be a huge time loss if he does die a hero steam or more trunk cancels it's not gonna trunk cancels he'll hit the buzzes look at it above there so very important do that and when he grabs the DK coin he's going to be doing some lag reduction but he's going to be staying on the bottom and facing to the right because if he stayed up on top and followed the tin can hasn't rolled along to be getting a lot of lag here there's like no pretty good he's a little wakeful to de-spawn at level one oh I'm surprised really good rather far actually er yeah food frenzy so nipple is our friend now we got to keep him well-fed strong friend in quotation mark he or every green banana in this bonus in particular has a unique spawn so you can't really predict it at all I mean I guess if you're like really cosmic brain you can know where the last one is if you gimmick like gives away the locations yeah yeah for water levels every underwater level just be it right there at the very end yep now time for the boss of these the squirrel dust squirt squirt showdown boss is kind of creepy but uh you mean Jar Jar Binks oh I can't ya the gimmick here is just too supportive in the eyes pretty much it's really not too much going on there is a slight amount of randomness as to when he opens his eyes we're talking like many frames but it doesn't matter at all really yeah it has to do with when he blinks yeah I was feeling really excited and validated about all the times that I missed until you said it doesn't really matter it's just right and hopefully we'll be grabbing doing optimal skeeter ivory jobs to us beyond the top ledge rather than the bottom ledge buddy I'm getting the big thumbs down so I did I did that during the trilogy relay in 2017 2017 2017 and I said that out loud and I just immediately got owned in the next level like just and then you got on without without question just immediately died the self jinx basically we're upgrading our vehicle here gonna compete turbos ski she'll be our main vehicle for pretty much the rest of the runs nice honking very efficient yeah that's fine for crevasse creepers songs pretty good the best in the game for sure yeah so even though Kitty is slower jumping up horizontal ropes it's better to do Kitty and frogs for this level yeah and there's a thing for different reasons for that one is the next bonus coming up he's gonna have the enlarged hitbox like the stars easier the others that would be able to get the DK coin faster in Dixie would be able to and also going to need his team throw in two spots one to go into an up barrel which is just saves a little bit of time and also to even access the second Oh second came through so even those levels like kind of built for dicks that you do have to use Kitty and 103 for the first half yeah something I rather doubt forever ago I was surprised when I saw the savings mm-hmm so the way to get this BK coin is pretty cool you're going to put the steel keg in the behind of this coin god I didn't think that was gonna work I didn't either I wasn't gonna stop surprised just do a team through here now you know like what the inside a way to get that DK coin is but a journal every bull would often get throat yeah really it's bounce off and take out the ik line I think ideally supposed to throw the tip not dealing but the intense tries to throw a tin can like falling all the way coming up is one of the worst moments this boys is garbage yeah dog yeah this is a green banana bonus lag is they lied and suede on these barrels sometimes the green bags just be like out of reach bonds are real bad and the barrels have bad hit boxes yes you can just like fall off previously we'd used dixie for this bonus because we're glad is kind of useful but kitties like a little bit more optimal to this pit box and just the way he jumps off with yeah but you think I can was it you that may be doing another team ferry here to us good portion of the level it's gonna be a long team throws very broke are the Louisville yeah it's also comb swamped 11 1 1 3 yep you stop your Kong spree often yeah this one's pretty cool you go back and forth between a Dixie and Kitty a lot because they're different abilities and also the damage boost and all that here's going to be swapping a specific spot because if he doesn't just a chance to be barrel will despawn that leads into these second bonus it's really weird as long as you swap in that spot boys fun this bonus is also kind of tough to do off only a cocoon you want to do is like low jumps as possible and just try and find without falling down [Music] okay I think 13 is out so you have to have like really optimal job you have to be a god yeah are just ringing the game cards trick in the game where he team through onto a barrel on to another barrel so hard man you can do it to one jump there it saves in one second but that's the nice thing about this category as well the two one jump it's a frame perfect trick or you get more height off of a team throw jump but it's really not useful at all in this category whereas it's very useful on a person but one place trailing spoopy where we had and we got rid of it yeah so he's doing the team throws ever gets you barek we're almost done with the bear coin route actually are we getting four more we getting five armor or there's a backup one in this one but since I got the one in low G I might get bit or am I do the robbery at 54 so it's definitely crack-shot crock this is the the blue Couture EOS Twitter level of the run much easier than the web woods and DK speaks for sure oh yeah gimmick here is the target falling and shooting at you which doesn't really affect you watching the speedrun you're always down running play well so this bonus is very strange does again there's just nothing like here to challenge you my theory is that the the croc is supposed to be in this bones but maybe they couldn't figure out how to go and get it working so it's just jump around get three pit and that's it also every green banana in this bonus is unique spawn so it's very hard to predict so here we're gonna be doing what Ford mentioned earlier or you can jump in between the big fat oh yes the way a webs work in this game is that you have to delay them for at least one frame your L&R pressed or deform the web unlike a dkc2 or you can press L&R at the same times though yeah I was expecting to die on the previous pool actually sir it's a bit unfortunate have you have to redo that it's a pretty nice day jump to make it from the edge to the middle you kind of have to like be falling off a little bit already when you jump yes obviously is not going after you do the bonuses or anything like that once you on the bonus you've done it forever so I can do up in one I guess what easy to do it when you're now coming out of those yeah yeah yeah um there we go easy remember junior percent training it's good it's unfortunate you got like right before Midway as well yeah I guess it was a sign for me to get this one alright there we go alright now we're in the second half doing another D boost here and actually yes you know as well in dkc2 you get hit damage from your animal buddy you have a few frames where you can be a little bit scary the same red buzzer guarding the entrance to the bonus coming up is one of the most unique bonuses in the entire run they're not readable or a cone we're playing as a cross there and alright the objective is just to take out all the bodies as the crosshair there is a bit of a delay on the shot so you can't just rapid-fire but ideally just take them all out without missing a shot [Music] very nice well done 31 what you wanted yep nothing a.m. on this one yeah my favorite song on the game good one so yet again the coin is at the very end of stage quitter becomes the steel keg so you absolutely cannot miss the throat have to redo the entire state very difficult very difficult throw yeah I've seen people miss that before they get a tree to the entire level shadow chest conditioner yeah we're just exposing everybody today everybody the fast terrible mistakes yeah i bonus right away here in lenguin lunge can we're doing a buffer jump into a roll and that will give them a good setup so you roll through the lem go in and beat the bonus optimally not too difficult yeah is it possible to fail these enemies have some really odd yeah punk win hitbox deserve to say the least yeah very questionable pretty infamous for just like randomly hitting you even though you jumped off them perfectly he was gonna be doing an intentional d boost to get rid of kitty this will reduce lag because and also to Zoe frames good time fair point yeah again snow level who know neon because of the death yeah yeah there's a tricky can do or you can just drop enough Elevens work is you can roll through them or like any if you touch them at all while they're coming out of a hole you kill them but pretty much otherwise that you touch them you dying even if version where police give doesn't work so there's there's some trade-offs like the stuff in World AIDS not doable there's the one cycle with chaos that's not doable yeah both American got boosted visit on the way back after world 8 but here we're going to be getting the mirror and the shell early and also we could be robbing the bear so the shell costs five coins the mere cost 50 coins but we might fifty four coins we're gonna do we're just gonna mash our hearts out both at once was the coin stick down I was very nice and yeah it's kind of like as the coins go down you still have them so as long as you just mash it an adequate enough speed you can I'm gonna buy the show when the counter is above five and combine it yes so we're delivering the present of blue blues birthday is actually don't we don't need his him we know we know what the mirror what's read by the mirror yeah we just we just laugh at him and walk off this is Buzz average this is the clocks focus level we'll be playing as him for pretty much things higher level some very tight skips in the stage going between the copters and the buzzes coppers especially I don't wear new potions this pose is among the longest in the entire game it's not too difficult and pretty straightforward but it just takes a wallet so you take out all the buzzes with clocks ideally you want to get like 32 or 33 here [Music] very good Nick Fox is pretty excited to be upgraded from midpoint here it you gotta you got a promotion in this game yeah the UH mechanic it's pretty cool where you just grab the barrels we're just trying to throw them on to people I guess actually yeah you think of the Columbia at the very end here but no pops we'll [Music] see yeah also the stage contains a lot damage boost typically unless we say something taking damage it's gonna be on purpose nor excuse to give top recycles just to go through buzzes or things like that here things have strategies like go to the left and like wait for the cop to come de like squeeze with the pre B's grab tin can just take out the coin like that few more tight skips coming up like you're supposed to like they can make this level is to just like take the barrel and take out all the buzzes with that but you can just like squeeze through all of them a good movement and using iframes here to go through your goals of the buzz and the copter seems line yeah this page is not easy definitely ones the hardest levels in the run fun fact if you get hit there's actually an invisible Kong barrel at the bottom of that little cove that he just went through makes that bonus much faster yeah so the intense traffic for this post coming up is that you're supposed to bounce on the top door and get the stars like that but if you team up and down side the copter you can throw dixie to grab a lot of stars as you descend him so you can skip the cycling man yep and hey just do a team throw to finish it off it's pretty much optimally up [Music] that smell we're doing the same one or the same thing for the second bonus coming up in a little bit here also this flow level used to be a great source of bear coins and the previous routes because again it's just an autoscroller but we no longer have any more use for bear coins but sometimes we'll like go in the barrels and get the bear coins to remind us - via the old days not like a wizard anytime or anything how many words are in this level like seven don't lose that many but yeah it's quite a bit there's a lot I hear six six sounds accurate yeah I don't care about any bear coins own this you only care you care about the money route exactly pretty good yeah will you be donating any bear coins to the cause after this run uh yeah your leftovers okay thank you it's also worth saying that if you fail bonus then an autoscroller especially like this level you losing a lot of time but oh my gosh it's nothing almost I did to make it more dramatic so my most embarrassing moment is getting to the end of this level and doing that exact thing at the top of the level and just not catching it and I had to replay the entire fact after the level I feel like it happens to all of us at least yeah it's like it's the rite of passage yes so no surprise the coins at the very end the stage here is going to be team throwing to get up there I think you're supposed to only take the rope is the antenna strategy until the third team throw faster team throws grab the B key : that's it Blue Bear Aaron Aaron Bjorn the bear could be giving giving him his wrench and this is basically what the bear clan rat has amounted to we did everything we did getting all the bear coins and before world's sixth we can only make one visit to this world again in previous routes do it and do a second visit with losing a lot of time so getting all those bear coins early is time positive I like about 15 seconds so [Music] we get a little bit harder I would start writing it down because my memory is like awful on guard you want to ideally supposed to hit the gleaming frames in order to make it brighter but uh you know we're speedrunning so we know how to do that just be playing level in the dark so might be a bit hard to see and again as we mentioned earlier on guard is really okey I think there's only like two frame bring large fins where you can actually take - on that on girl be playing through absolutely everything yes but not only is it faster but it's safer to be lunging constantly there's Moses cool hug that bonus this doesn't make like really clever usage of angered lunge ability back and forth he's pretty good first time we see the soup for lunch really yeah I did I guess that one three yeah not too much to say for last time for donation all right sounds good we have $10 from mr. about doing it but I haven't practiced it in a while yeah yeah you mean need a dick see in front here for the the parents skip oh nice grabbing that's optimal yeah ideally we you wouldnt have to do didn't see squawks but we always be on guard on guard isn't needed to get a full completion this level that's just faster to use them right after Ongar we'll be switching to kitty here in the water - required to access the second bonus here you can you're making up with a too much room this bonus is annoying that's another use of the crying Dixie Tech there to grab green bands is kitty pluck the rest of them it's so easy to like lose the bonus because the Bing 3d here yeah the hitbox on the bombs lingers for quite a bit if you really have to wait out the explosions especially there yeah yeah also if you take damage previously previously this level you can't get the beat a coin is gonna be two Kong's or to get up there something worth noting that cachaca that almost body me a soda bonus that got replaced on the Japanese version for whatever reason they put it back in GBA s image alright ropey rumpus again this is another rope lovely ideally be playing his Dixie but the Kong order works that that you kind of need kitty here because we'll be doing a damage boost after this first bonus it's used to get about uh nine seconds of the level plus the really not too bad just B's kitty here I just fell asleep as a kid he jumps off the ropes floor and there's like buzzes you got dodge it's really not that bad yeah but we're doing the past is you grab the TNT barrel and take out one of the buzzes like that but if you're really good you can just take me to TNT barrel at all you took all the damage you won't be able to do the skip it's not even like steel it'll be it's not going for optimal movements yes stop though yeah it is this is one of the more well hit points yeah it looks like that pit would just take you you know it's ways bottom level the nope just as with dk coin is a thing is still addicted here to entered the barrels faster as well and he'll be getting a kitty back as an animal in the next stage so no times actually lost we're seeing Perry here again Perry's gonna turn into the second bonus when she's really scary yeah it's a really scary boys if you fail it failure you have to go to warp yeah you know because you actually can't backtrack through the B's it also be time variance in this bonus in particular is quite large because if you get a bunch of green bananas on like one side obvious that's optimal but if you have to go back and forth a lot and always a lot of time there's like maybe eight seconds of air yeah I think the best possible where it's possible that seems good that's about it gets to 24 25 is the best you can get pretty ridiculous times yeah Barba's very pretty similar to any percent the first phase has a bit of randomness to it you want the allure chance to spawn in a star you just hit them right away that's kind of a bad spot it's really a second spawn and but the second phase you're supposed to use the missile shells to target merchants like lock on to the on guard that you like directly towards lurch and barrier but you just like get inside a bar boats they're all done and a little bit faster yeah the ideal Stratford not ideally tennis right here's like be on the bottom and dodge the same bullet hell they're just like yeah [Applause] and you get flushed out of worlds literally here's where they put in like all the gimmicks that were really really really the worst gimmicks yeah so tomorrow too bad this first level is probably the most straightforward this is a fun level conveyor of flash the ropes are conveyors and you just hop on top of them and faster than just you know like gliding over the reins my dad moves you towards where you want to get going I [Music] almost my heart stopped for a second because I was in any percent motors like what is key this bonus is actually a lot more annoying than you would think yeah there's stars hidden in the trees it's very easy like missed them oh yeah that was good yes well it can be a little bit scary going between ah the buzzes and try and dodge all of them while you're moving the faster on the conveyor ropes but overall it's not too bad it's not too different one of the three just a few detours to this dog very similar yeah it'll be the same yeah like this is the movement you would want to do in any percents like optimally but there's a bonus in the way so like a lot of them do like new runners will accidentally go on that bonus how is anybody supposed to find that there's like dozen bananas yeah one banana Oh kind of like as an indication the one yeah we actually I don't think there's an indicator yeah you know I know this Josh's favorite with a lot of orangey yeah if you like randomness this is the level for you so the boo barrels the ghost barrels which direction they face is random to a certain degree they will eventually face the right way after a certain number of small into like it came to keep facing the wrong way forever anything like that so ordinarily we would play it with one Kong but since we need both first points never like the worst possible orange ooh that was awesome but he knew is going to face the up left after the first three yeah does that ones guarantee to do that they all have a maximum of wrong direction at the fourth correct direction and you need two phones yet this bonus for that yeah so basically you want to do you want you don't want to take damage on bar boughs to carry two columns up to this point yeah it was levels off pretty great cuz there's even orangey in the bonuses with the ghost barrel doing a two-team first scrap there it's pretty good yeah I mean the only reason was the awfulest with the RG so great execution well you will be getting a quitter here in order to access the second bonus can be doing any boost boost and also sets your call order because you want note 60 take for his kind of awkward gets like throw it away it a little bit yeah and you don't want the like best possible RNG for the final boo barrel because you can't we can't make that plug you want the second possible spawn no roll is pretty good here's worry skip needing them here for the guy to tell us not going get to be figure eight around the rock standard stockpile ideally give the mirror to baffle and he like unlocks the the clue you guys so recently I found out there is actually a bit of orangey after so many years of thinking there was no orangey in this level but apparently is like a small amount that dictates where it goes but for the most part the positioning of the lightning is dependent on the movement of the Khans so you can kind of like influence or is going to be in particular it's going to be very important and lightning can strike the water and like if you're anywhere the water you'll take damage yeah that's why I stole it a little bit I want to make sure the Lightning would strike into that small pond because I've had that happen to me before yeah I would like to keep two Kong's up to the DK coin section do a little yeah the intended strat is to have the lightning hit the Bounty bird it's a bounty bass and booty bird yeah you're supposed to hit the first bird that gives you a barrel so that you can hit the second bird which gives you the tin can and then I guess you're dying because you get bad look yeah I could have been due to the RNG probably yeah another mechanic with the lightning is that any time you take damage or pick up a DK barrel and you stall the lightning for a brief bit yes there's a lot of deep boost in this level Stalin's Channel King Kong hopefully will see the stretcher also just like in Bombay overall we're going to throw the steel keg it's going to bounce off the wall bond got me good we're good now and bounced off the wall and take some that yeah so I'd say the second half the stage is a bit easier than the first half oh yeah you'll be doing up here if they repress why after the roll finishes yeah this bonus looks pretty pretty scary but if you jump in a certain way you can kind of get the lightning shoes on on the right or left side so it's not actually striking you in the center so you grab the like based on your when it tries to great for your arse to jump back and forth you kind of keep it in one place yeah like it thanks for me nice all right or far left good distant eBoost right here will be playing the rest of the level as Dixie potentially pausing there to fix the lighting cycle it's pretty good to me all the coins that we took out previously in the run they're all the DK coins yeah they they've assembled an army and they're here to take out the cons pink and it's her thank you so yeah the way these guys work is like kind of weird like sometimes I like jumping them just push you off anyways you don't like to land on them the only pretty standard right on top yeah if you're a little bit off and you'll be angled no although you kind of cut through them and and they'll bump your a little pit or they chase you and it's really hard to recover some of the bones for some of these stars are hidden in the trees so they kind of party ground kitty a coin dozer is nothing it's much easier to land centered all the quantities colliding it's something I think the antenna has to do a team throw off of the coin in at the bonus barrel but oftenly just light onto the recoil and down some of the bonus barrel that way this is a bonus for a green banana prediction can really help you out because there's only going to be four griemann as the spot on the right side so a so I keep an eye out for those and kind of like really worried the left by a fair bit yeah like the old spares just like down you know go back and forth between them but if you keep track of how many urban has a spawn you can optimize movement blue switch barrel against you and change the bazooka shot from regular what the barrel to see okay [Music] they've actually the coins don't actually come after you if you're right at the very edge you get um pretty safely they're poisonous pipeline so the controls are reversed in this level whenever you're in the poison Potter or water it specifically left and right or reverse but now if your speed around doesn't really matter too much it's basically just another underwater level and he'll be going into the first bonus will give him on guard that'll make rest of the first half of level pretty straightforward you'd get on guard even eighty percent but you would get him from like a specific guard barrel here just going to the bonus to become avant-garde automatically getting on guard normally and that level is pretreat yeah oh yeah there's another bonus that would be hard if you're using like decays things too long ago or something but DQC ground guard has no issues I'll be doing a full charge here too much to say we have twenty five swim counterclockwise you're closer to that exit spot alright it's time for a rematch with chaos and the final level of world seven obviously it's a pretty similar to a percent well it's piece of identical every sabbatical basically technically key role speeches difference on north I think like in the lore of this game chaos it's supposed to be like the big bad guy but you know someone else behind the scenes you can kind of see him there in the curtain I won't spoil who it is I think this is fence up who could it possibly be in a Donkey Kong game oh my god no way cables back scientist man or something I don't know this game he's named Baron yep strat here's uh hit him in the back barrels all these things like propeller thing take out the propeller I guess hit they're hitting K rool before he turns around on that cycle saves just a little bit time he's it's more about when how many times he bounces again yeah he bounces against the wall four times so forget him before after this hit he's going to going for a trick called task a role where he's going to be doing a somewhat precise blot to grab the lever and get an early barrel cycle it's fly frame window me Ricky good all done yeah very nice yeah it stays about five seconds do like that very straightforward yeah messing it up recently you can't jump too early and just kind of like Ram it alright so here we're gonna wait up just [ __ ] here for it to save the game and then we will hard reset to skip the credits entire cutscene is much faster North American versions one of the main reasons why again it's done on DNA bears alone yeah it's like 20 years per second yeah it's a big deal so I guess hold on a little note the aren't even it Billy Sherwood coming up so we're gonna do a hard reset here after this cutscene which is gonna reset the RG back to its default state and how it works the basically while you're on the overall every few frames it'll advance the Archie and so with good boat movement we can get into Crematory to the first stage and roughly the same time anytime we mean Frankie by the way and that will ensure that the cream banana patterns to avoid Leslie boomer skip yeah which is really important because that stage has three bonuses all of which were green bananas all right so you have to reset there cuz start playing as soon as possible if the game auto stays as soon as the credit starts so before he gets into the first level we're gonna be it's gonna be attempting a trick called a Boomer skip here so the gimmick with crema toys and all the levels are blocked by these rocks and before the bear will charge you the bonus points to blow up the rocks oh I guess I struck a bit that I like to have the bear skips work and whatnot so the Bears gifts were thought to be like tasks only for the longest time but recently Super Mario Brothers 3 runner by the name of Louie he came up with a technique we just kind of like slide your ring finger and pointer from here on the controller you have to do is you have to press B for exactly one frame like go B for exactly one frame then just press B again now lets us get beating over there joste you would yeah what the skip does specifically is you walk out before he finished pressing the button and that stops the counting down in the bonus point so you can actually reenter his house with more than 25 points remaining which is what he charges to over the fifth level but since we didn't get to skip we'll have to complete the first four stages and beat their bosses to get up for the 25 coins needed to open the 50 page yeah again so he can pretty much predict the spawns of the green banana Moses the first ones like kind of weird sometimes the first one will be in the right spot but second third one should always be the same so you guys feel like a hopefully an optimal iteration of this also the ideal or the intense tries to use blocks for this bonus but using splitters much faster especially if you aren't you manipulating doing the the manipulations you say by 5 seconds per bonus yeah yeah like you can see how fast he was able to go to cuz he knew where the green bananas are going to be yeah now it's time for an escort mission here in Stampede sprint so you got to keep Harry alive Perry is very very very important like so even though it's essentially an autoscroller Perry dies you just have to redo the entire stage because Perry will be turning into the third bonus it's the first stage where we have a three bonuses instead of two just yeah so another question for the who whose host who is your favorite animal buddies guy well based on how you all have talked about a key face done then based on the chat that's why I like to hear ya know peer pressure anything I just got that feel from y'all on the couch to totally unbiased like uninfluenced answered I like it that last section right there or the red buzzer is very mean if you don't know he's coming up because this typical apparel is Donna and if you go into the gym actually don't have to jump over any of the cretan be use only the red ones this will be another bonus where were the RNG is fully predicted there's actually a really scary bonus if you don't know yeah cuz there are four bananas it'll spawn off of B and those ones in particular are bad because a Perry gets hit by the B you failed Boeing Sammy and you have to replay the entire stage there's no halfway 24 floor yeah without the manipulation sometimes no stampede Sprint's like a big source of potential time lost because this is an autoscroller the rest of the levels hopefully won't be that bad coming up is crisscross plus my favorite level in the entire game because features quite a few zips boy won't be going for all of them but uh similar to the team throw interruption zips we saw earlier on and/or saw our age and all that you can actually throw a Dixie into a steel keg and manipulate the cameras that you get zipped up you kind of like Tommy knows Oh kind of chain those if together also talked about this bonus is the most prominent uses the crying dictates that car gun it's like right here this is the most broken stage in the run you can zip everywhere you can do these rows which this thought was actually a big reason why we're playing on you fix like pretty much everything jabbers you can't do the zips in the stage you can't do tips like that you can do anything fun they say a gimmick is that you have these red beans that block the barrels that used to climb and you're supposed to switch them TNT in order to kill the beat to then progress but it's not coded properly you can just team throw past it in the barrels on again yeah so hope this will be the first that the boy will be going for it this is not a fairly well hidden DK point I think nice very nice teams were passed them again you can be doing a lot more zips and Boyd is showing off but they really don't see it that much like asically almost every section comes in yeah it's like the bonus is not easy either I'm probably gonna go going for the optimal strategy like cold right I've been the second Nick Oh like bounced off and sometimes that happens really bad to fall you climb a really slowly in the spring yeah the lucky 13 the hitbox with the knick knacks can be a bit uh cruel sometimes they're being stayed there big damage yeah there he has a few yeah I got to go to the ride to on the tin cans yeah cuz like after you beat the second bonus like they're just not even firing anymore so you kinda have to go to the right o final see it somehow just barely missed it there we go awesome that'd be skip in particular where you to throw fasted is more difficult than the other one else this tip is actually really useful all right tyrunt twin tussle featuring a unique gonna make all the cuff and cloth and clock yes make a very cool noise when they're defeated by Twitter yeah we getting spider mostly to access the DK coin but uh listen to the sound of [ __ ] so good so good yeah you need something actually wet blonde oh yeah you supposed to create a bridge of web platforms there to get these steel kegs we get the coin and also you have splitter for this bonus which is a quite nice who's going to take out the only opposition in this bonus is you have a projectile 14 these can be doing a one last final web shot here to take off the cuff and clouds so I do one but it dispatches both fun yeah because there's fact when they're off-screen yeah oh it hits one squeeze together and once again it fixes my call harder yeah you want Dixie for sure for this next bonus so you can glide over the the enemies so here he's gonna move neutral face left but you don't wanna be holding right otherwise will spawn the cuff and clouds early and then he'll die yeah so you really don't want to take damage there it doesn't look too bad but you have to use the the crying Dixie Tex with this bonus in order to occupy one of these three spawns yeah you lose a long time yeah you can lose up to like 20 seconds basically I think this team does bonus makes it playable yeah you don't have to worry about the right side and middle spawns yeah you can get a 37 if you get like I'm saying Arnie but coming up is loopy salvos is definitely one of the hardest level arguably it doesn't look that bad just swoop he's coming at you but there's like there's so many of them mad there's one infinitely and it's really hard to know there's also in this level yeah this is a half squawks half Kong I'll make the next section yeah have to game hard there's gonna be a lot of movies coming at you normally you have to Kong's here so you can take a hit but I line up Reagans the edge of the pole you all right yeah worst is over that's shot in the spooky as these come right at you is so scary but stable do no problem scary bonus the final cream and a bonus of the run there's three in the left spawn here pretty good orangey really good I've never had a 29 before so marathon luck yeah take a bit easy normally suppose have kitty there and it's a bit easier yeah alright now he's got a mid point doesn't have to worry too much he's got both Kong's back to be switching to Kitty shorts like that for the level is not as hard yeah but the steps are there sit through there yeah all right Oh interesting robbed a little bit yeah again wrong there we go I'm really surprised that one didn't work I can't avoid command at this point come on mom it's probably because of your camera I had really had to guess but who knows oh yeah it's bearable seems like maybe like what three seconds for something final bonus 40 and he definitely still save time here by the way final bonus this is really in the game that's what they went was I don't know like why her hair decide to make that the go and then all the long down and also my bouncing into the cliffs and rocket barrel will just explode yeah you can actually taking all the damage either instant death or nothing one was changed a lot on the GBA version like a fun fact on the North American version there's no G letter in this level that's true yeah GB is like a completely different level is is like true true yeah so we're gonna do the tagging behind here again taking the last DK coin with the run that's a good rocket brush so because I got Boomer skip earlier this looks really cool sadly because you didn't get the first Boomer skip you can't go for the third Boomer skip here because if you deposit all your clogs at once here you can go for third Boomer skipper you just like skip this entire long sequence here and just leave around I guess turn around animation alright the second phase of the gimmick is that the steel tech news or the electricity so you want to place the keg down it absorbs the electricity and the keg up and take out K rool there is a glitch on the North American version where if you pause the game the electricity just like goes right through you unfortunately it's floor for the speedrun I also use that little needle at the top which indicates which direction I it's like really awkward like it's frozen if you think it's bad with Kitty you should try doing this with Dixie like this like if you lose Kitty in this fight early it's pretty much faster just to Don purpose and get Kitty out of here he's going to sack Dixie Oh both calls for the nd alright yeah that's fine optimally you want to lose one of your Kong's there it doesn't really matter which one it makes the overall movement faster you yeah we everytime you back to the beach do we have time for one more quick donation yes yeah how many banana birds you have at the moment like when I was doing uh some testing for this game I like use the cheat code to give myself like 255 banana birds and like it was like something like a hundred input code or something so we actually wrote it a little bit to take advantage of that yeah there is like no upper limit but fortunately is only fifty banana birds you can have normally all which is a glitched level it doesn't normally look this bad with the crema Toma palette it looks like really crazy this is actually the one to level layout but without any sprites yeah like nothing am kungfu fruit cup back here I am with Nimmi a professor at Duke University working with to to prevent cancers so it's great that she's also working with prevention how are you today good good it's great to meet you and to get to talk to you for a bit yeah um so I know that you have been helping to provide we're working with women around the world and are fascinated with with cervical cancer and how to provide help and healthcare and things for that you want to go into a bit about your work with women yeah so just to just give some numbers they're more than a billion women globally who have no access to basic sexual and reproductive care and that's unacceptable and cervical cancer is one disease that exemplifies this crisis so what we're really trying to do is to figure out how to solve the problem to prevent cervical cancer and let me remind you it's the one cancer that we can completely prevent we can make it zero and yet half a million women die every year and what we want to do is figure out how to solve that problem so that when we get more cancer cures and we figure out how to solve other cancers we've set up the scaffold to actually make a difference to people with the solutions that they can access so you're working to make sure that that women not only know that this is a treatable thing that we already have answers for this we have treatments for this but to be able to provide those treatments as well I think that's fantastic then it also kind of Branch was outside of that and would be like like you said like a scaffold like Facebook for for other things that we deal with them suffer with mm I think that's fantastic and I know that that leads you specifically into your work in Peru with women there I've heard the amazing term hope ladies can you tell us about that yeah so we actually work in more than 8 countries but I would say right now we're prioritizing because we want to show this work so let me just take a step back so when when even up in a person here in the u.s. goes to the primary care physician they might get screened for cancer and then if some things the suspicious shows up they might go to another clinic to get a diagnosis and then again if they need treatment and so if you have transportation you have insurance we've got all those good things you can do all of those steps and benefit from it but if you live far away from the hospital if you don't have insurance all of a sudden you can't get the care you need and what happens is you end up going to the hospital when you have cancer I'm using the hypothetical you and what we want to do is prevent that by bringing by innovating on technologies that can be brought to people there as good as the ones in the hospital but they can be accessible in the community they can be accessible for people to use themselves so you might ask well if you can't get them to the hospital how are you gonna get these technologies to people and so we're working in Peru to create a social franchise model we asked how house wives in slum communities who are called hope ladies this is actually the work of my collaborator in Peru who's the former health minister and she's essentially empowering these hope ladies to go door to door and hand out these tests that women can take because if a woman is screened there's a really good chance that we can catch her cancer and cure it and the idea is that these hope ladies get a little bit of that money so their incentive to keep continuing to distribute these technologies so we want to put the tools the solutions in the hands of people that women can relate to and then help them essentially spread those tools into their community through a combination of education empowerment and of course distribution of the tests that women need to essentially care for themselves so have you gotten to a point where you think you've seen some beneficial results happening down in Peru or any kind of stories there anything you'd want to tell you know we're in the midst of doing this but I will tell you one thing so what we have done I'll talk about one technology since we're all technologists here I don't know how many of you know about this but for women and the audience you know the mainstay of a gynecology exam a pelvic exam is a metal instrument called a speculum and a little bit of trivia it was invented 200 years ago in the American South and it was let me just say a really horrendous device for many people and sometimes women fear the exam and don't go get care and my students and I were thinking why are we still working with a 200 year old technology well we've got all the way from Maine stations and centralized places to you know Apple watches like what's going on why does health care technology take forever to change and so my students essentially came up with this really cool idea where we can completely take the discomfort out of an exam by making it Boober comfortable and then giving women the power to use that and so that's an example of how we're using innovation and technology to change the way we we actually implement healthcare that's fantastic yeah I speaking as a fellow woman i-i-i definitely respect that and appreciate that just kind of making it a more comfortable and example process is a really really beneficial thing so i think that's really great and so when it comes to your work like you can you can so easily tell how passionate that you are about all of this and how hard you've been working and even just talking to her for a few minutes before this interview I could just see all this like wonderful energy radiating from her and I just want to know a bit more like about about you're kind of like passion and like how you got into this and then you know your relation to the PCF and then Jake game son quick as well Wow okay let me unpack that so the first question is how I got into it yeah there's a little something yeah I know I have to say I'm love solving problems I just I love tinkering I love trying to figure out how to get things done fast how to get it done efficiently and how I can make something unique something that you know is is me and I think as an engineer I think of myself as an artist right you could have a blank canvas and what you create is yours now if you can save lives that's even better and so I'm also passionate about women's health because I come from a country where there great disparities and access to health care is nowhere near what you know we can get here and so when you experience both worlds you kind of ask yourself why isn't the world equitable why can't everybody have health care why are you spending so much money and yet not saving people's lives from preventable cancers what does that mean for the ones that you know need to be treated how are we gonna get care to those people if we can't even do the basic stuff so it's both passion for making the world a better place for everyone and also this idea that it can be fun it can be intellectually challenging it can be like gaming you don't have to like sacrifice fun to make a difference and you can do them at the same time and so that's what really sort of gets me up every day and of course I have to say the third thing is working with young people just like yourselves being able to work with people that aren't afraid that are sort of invincible right because they're young and they feel like they can do anything so why not do this thing so that's the basic idea yeah so that makes me think like and I know you said you were asked before but but for the audience would you consider yourself a gamer yeah I do gaming every day no little bit of a lie not the kind of gaming that you do I mean I am in front of computer so it's digital and I'm telling you half the time I'm trying to solve puzzles you know I I often tell my students like we have all the pieces that the puzzle but I can't see the picture I know what the picture should look like but I can't see it and we're always optimizing to be faster to be better and to also have impact so I would say we're gaming of course I also play a little bit of chess and other stuff but really I think we're all gamers and I think we all benefit from gaming yeah that definitely makes sense we're all working hard to be fast and efficient and make things work and make things and build up our brains yeah exactly absolutely yeah that is absolutely thing well I very much appreciate talking to you thank you so much for letting us know more about what you do and how you were working with the PCF and I hope you have a wonderful recipe day thank you so much yeah and I just want to say thank you to gdq I mean it's amazing that the support that prevent cancer get and I
