[Music] you're watching The Breakfast Club more than everybody is DJ envy Angela Yee Charlemagne to God We Are The Breakfast Club just put it down go back about a decade they don't but you always old you know what it is me and you talk I'd rather tell me to you telling me there you go I'm gonna tell on myself I'm not gonna have you put me hanging me out jamming me up but nobody was know somebody on the podcast what happened came up but I know that that that it had been bubbling around you know people were saying they were gonna start telling the story you know I had a side baby and you know you know what to do got side baby because the picture be in the back with the receipts not with the front wallet black kids come in vinyl they don't come but you know and I talked about you know how I had a baby and Andy on the side and that my baby my baby's mother boyfriend killed the baby and so it you know it bothered me all the time but ultimately it was gonna we had talked about on my radio show but people were talking about we're gonna we don't tell all right [ __ ] I tell ya my wife ain't spoke to be since but that's not the point no what she knew so but but I think anytime a woman can know something but when everybody knows you bring it back up again it's it's not exactly the most pleasant and I could tell something's going on cuz I call jabs is it I said what do you know is it nothing so you're trending again but what's the point of having you know a microphone and you don't and all you do is talk about what other people doing then and never what you did and your wife's probably mad because it's probably her friends hitting her like I can't believe you Stan yeah right one of my friends asked me for advice the other day and I was like okay this happened to do you agree also but he got his side chick pregnant he hasn't told his wife yet and he's like I don't know what to do how should I tell her I would never wish that on anybody else but she's gonna find out you know it used to be a man could have a baby family on the other side of town nobody find out to the funeral like God intended you know what I mean maybe argue away that ain't your real daddy but but ultimately it's gonna fire me because of social media and it used to be a time when everybody stuck to themselves and nobody got in each other's business but she's gonna tell you but Jeff isn't that a deal breaker for a woman like you can't give a woman that STD and you can't get another woman pregnant absolutely I can't even ask you to stick around yeah you got to take care of your estate again anyway yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't I just couldn't cuz I couldn't trust you cuz you were reckless and now you brought reckless to me that's a problem for me that's a deal-breaker yeah always wonder how this relationship came together well what happened was she was she was already on the show that I'm on she was already on the show with it was with skip Murphy and I was doing Dancing with the Stars and when it was over they said you you want to do radio so they you want to do a radio so I was meeting all of these people and originally I wanted another yeah I wanted another woman to tell us with me but they wouldn't let it happen and they made me meet Jasmine no like I don't want to meet this girl and he said so yeah we sat down and he was like you know you're not my choice and I said well why are we seated why are we talking I said whoever you want go after them because if it's your show then you mate you need to make sure everything about the show is right for you [ __ ] yeah and then I talked to Archie and I knew that she was I said this broad is talented she's gonna be and I don't know that I've ever worked with anybody asked a minute sir I mean I think it's like y'all relationship you gotta have people that they get you and they don't have to explain you they just get you so that's how we came together originally she wasn't mine and it's just what she basically broke up with the douchiest wedding came on my show the others that interesting career to me cuz you know we all remember the Kings of Comedy but then I remember when you got this show on CNN and I remember thinking why did the I usually have a political show on CNN but now years later I understand why you had it when it was and it seemed weird it's because it was out of play you know I think everything comes back around like like now I'm watching what's happening it's such an interesting thing because I saw like now was so quick like I watched over speech and I was like that's what we are right now you could give a speech at an award show and now you could be president consider from he was given a speech in front of people that pretend to be other people for a living I have to go back and watch the speech again because I was like I missed the part when she said she wanted to be president like why what did what did she say in that speech that made everybody be like run for president listen you could you could be proficient in one aspect like Michael Jordan great basketball player shitty shitty baseball player shitty general manager the owner of a team you can't God don't give with both hands just cuz you're a great rapper to me you're gonna be a great clothing designer that doesn't and I think we're so desperate for something like I could see why why people talk shows Donald Trump cuz if you broke and white like if you broke and why you white without the privilege that's like being a cop without a gun like freeze no no Malka if you broke and why you have wasted your whiteness like you you know the whole good white skin mr. Paul Mooney you blow 400-year head start if you broken white in America that is just and I could see that they wanted somebody to you know they wanted a you know a Captain Ahab they wanted somebody that made them feel good about themselves so I could see that but now when you when you pics it only in America could you pick a politician and the and the predicate is that they have no experience well they never been to Washington it's gonna be good for us do you think that because minorities black people women gays feel broken when I broke but we feel broken that's why we're looking to somebody like Oprah well I think that they're mad about Trump but I think you can't black women and gay people having a pretty good run right now so you know it's like like even that thing that happened with um with genuine yesterday this woman trans woman tried to kiss him sexual assault him and she did she sexually assaulted him and they got mad at the victim yeah that's what I don't understand because you know she's a full transfer and apparently they took all the male parts away and infused her with white woman privilege because only a white woman thinks he can kiss you and and you supposed to walk you really mad cuz nobody that I knew pink news called India will it be a victim Ginuwine's transphobic Wow first of all the transport has nothing to do with it to me if somebody tries to kiss you and I don't wait you don't want them to hug you and kiss you you have the right to reject their advances and I should not be a special homie to movement if Terry Crews is a hero so is genuine yes and and and the thing that's funny to me is you ain't got to like everybody mmm okay I could be phobic I could be bigoted I could be the whole gig is I'm not supposed to let that interfere with how you're treated I could dislike you you ain't got to like somebody cuz they're white they're black they're letting again you could dislike people you just can't treat them poorly because you're dislikes is that possible I think that this is in a world when we pretend the problem is that we pretend like we don't see the things we see mm-hmm like you could write like you could be a transgender I get it I understand it but that you're not exempt from certain biological realities you can call yourself a woman but evently that's gonna call you in tyranny the prostate exemption the examination like mrs. Johnson can you move your balls I need to take your process you could you could be whatever you want to be and you can say whatever you are and people could dislike it and have this agreements with it but you now we're trying to make everybody like everything just because we say so and and and I think that part of Trump exists because people buck back against but as a comedian right can you really enjoy it with people being so sensitive because now you just made a couple of jokes I don't know people will be managed if you dig me [ __ ] with me if you don't don't like it's funny because I'll do a show in front of an audience somebody will get a snippet of that show and get man that's so one for you that's just like me making a tailor-made suit you put it on said don't fit Nick anyone for you have you ever said anything and been like maybe I should have said that I can't say how about because it doesn't come from malicious place I just I don't I don't know you could say I could see how that was taken wrong and maybe I but that would mean I would put myself in their shoes and I wouldn't I wouldn't I mean look I'm not gonna the only thing I'm an expert at is Who I am like people have all these sensitivities I just don't I'm not saying that then I can't see the validity to him I just don't care and that's the thing too I think you know intention is very important but I think we live in a society where intention doesn't matter anymore it's about my impact right like what did you what you said impacted in this way right so we we're dealing with the impact it don't even matter to get on the middle I didn't mean nothing right like H&M right now yeah but you know here's the thing I was more mad at their parents than I was listen white people have been doing what they've been doing for hundreds of years you can't pretend like you don't know that they have ulterior motives if if you in my son what a monkey sure don't give a damn how much money they was paying me you ain't wearing it and I and you if you ever been to a photo shoot you know the parents are right there right there how much how much you can't expect people to be a better advocate for your children than you are well listen now we don't know how much rent was in the junk yeah you got a mug like I got I gotta say my son is slow right my son has Asperger's right and and and there are things like I'll talk about it like he's on the show like he's primarily on the show cuz I don't want to leave in home city burned my goddamn house down you know but my son hires hookers like myself with his girlfriend and I yeah he's 28 but you know what it was but in slow years he's like 21 so I didn't get the kid that was good at blackjack you know like Rain Man I didn't get him a Krav Maga yoga he's a Krav Maga you know he's strong my wife is mad and I'm like he hires hoes and he that's a better I've had to buy a house you know I mean he's oh maybe I should take one of them goddamn pills I just it's I do not have this kind of perspective where that that is I love my son he loves me we have a relationship we play we get to work together which is uncommon for very uncommon and and I say what I say and we love each other but but it but somebody looking on the inside out they could have a different perspective how did you know he was hiring hoes Oh cuz he told me cuz he had to borrow money but you know something he got high yeah escorts so he gotta go to there though did you think that's what I get for teas and some some slow people yes that I actually did and I knew right away my wife wanted to get in tears I like you ain't gotta come on look at him he's you know you know right away I like you could get tested if you want to but this [ __ ] need a helmet he doesn't like my son was like he was so depressed at one point he wanted to commit suicide well so I'm like you just come to work with me we're working out together whatever we got to do is what we'll do and so he had a girlfriend at one point and what I've learned is the secret to cure and Asperger's is [ __ ] goddamn it I'm telling you my son [ __ ] his mind right for no one yo you know what's so funny tiffany had said the same thing cuz she was sleeping with this slow guy named Roscoe and she said every time he gettin that poem for me to get scrap he wouldn't be for a minute and the faces you can't tell what they are anyway so when they making them you cringe when you like this whole like this sexual harassment thing is real man like that matter run for a good while but that's over now right right you can but you know what though it is woman's time to leave it is when at times up is actually a great hashtag great slogan because it's times up on us but but the whole thing about you you gotta be very girl you look nice if that's okay with you like I don't wanna lose my house cuz you got a big instead hey I don't want you know but I just want to know how far they gonna go back like is it 10 years 15 years years 30 years hmm we're gonna go for somebody from 32 years ago or something just come forward in front of him but imagine if we went back in time like Harvey Weinstein was horrible but Thomas Jefferson was worse there you go I swear I was thinking about this the other day because I was saying to myself if we're gonna start punishing people for atrocities right white people are shaking in their boots way they should and they would like Thomas Jefferson I mean uh Harvey Weinstein the statute of limitations didn't run out and Thomas Jefferson got a statue so it's just like it's bad that yes it's horrible that I want I'm gonna give you a movie unless you [ __ ] me but the but Thomas Jefferson [ __ ] me or I sell your kids so what but I just I don't understand what we get angry but like you're mad at Colin Kaepernick because he led a peaceful protest but you're not mad at you know robert e lee who led a violent one you know and to me why people can keep the Confederate monuments just leave me out of black people's neighborhood I schools are so shitty and [ __ ] up we don't even know who the [ __ ] the horse is like right now he's still producing movies and still doing things so it was important to do that at this time is still affecting people right now talking about the fact that we could do something right now as far as getting him how to get him about it let me tell you something Ivanka Trump is the is is the epitome of what happens those men like that didn't get away with that by themselves yes those powerful men did horrible things but a lot of white women helped drive the getaway car they pretended like they didn't see it like Ivanka Trump typifies a lot of these people who still went on and voted for Trump who still went on a voted for a more junior you get to say how you I support you know what Oprah said but one of the primary culprits is your father who you normalize so don't and they get to do it all the time and they keep voting these bastards in 57% of 53% of white men women vote for Trump 62 voted for origin so let's not pretend like it and that Beth white people let this be a lesson to you if you want black people who black people ninety-eight percent of black men vote or women vote in ninety four percent of black men you want black people to vote let a white man say America is better on the slavery and riding on the horse [ __ ] sawhorses what we going to vote down baby don't get my nine pieces i D people so afraid to call races white bigots crack ass have nothing white Devils I don't know oh it's the best ball team in Cincinnati that the young white guys went out there and on the back of their jerseys they had [ __ ] and negro and it was back open with it we so afraid to call races white guys cracking white we ain't and I think that ultimately like when somebody says reverse racism is is like you have to have the apparatus that that that that kind of infuses your racism I can be a bigot at home but if I can't make government or business work against you actively I'm not a racist I'm just to do talking [ __ ] at home mmm but but that we're not the same you you can't pretend as if you don't see the things you see because saying them out loud makes them have to know you saw it and when they don't people get away with too much you can't tell me to Donald Trump's not a racist you can't tell me at all you can't tell me now if you put if you might want to pretend like he's not because that would mean you're an accomplice is racist but he is very much a racist it's all apparatus about that and and and so so for people I can't I don't think that you can you can say and I think for a lot of people they just kind of racism will never really affect him so they get to pretend like they don't see it so if I don't see it and whatever he does I can just call it something else then I'll have to feel bad so I just I think that you you're absolutely right people should be called what they are I've seen [ __ ] too so I came pretend like I always use [ __ ] like Bill Maher said [ __ ] on TV they wanted to know if every white person is said [ __ ] lost a job tomorrow nothing would be open how come the mall is closed [ __ ] you know why are there any new angles on the Donald Trump situation at this point like everything he is it's so funny everybody reading his book like and I would have to go get it fire furia and they're talking about everything they said everybody who really is honest knew he was a [ __ ] dummy right you can't pretend like you don't know I can't vote for a dude I can't I can be in the spelling bee you know you can't misspell [ __ ] on Twitter on purpose that means you won't even listen to autocorrect that means someone has there's a professional thing going a man that ain't the way you use that that is the right word and you go [ __ ] you I know man become Fifi that's what you do brother and we still don't know what daddy like when he was doing the national anthem either he doesn't know it or the [ __ ] is really starting to have early stages of dementia right he doesn't know it and I know like like my old man he got dementia like and so you could see like an evil it was weird cuz my father's like a tough ass dude he was like evil dude running in dementia that I don't remember [ __ ] I do and that's why you missed my baseball game I miss your doctor's appointment that's the way they should go my sister daddy don't remember names you better go see him he don't remember nothing will tell that [ __ ] I just left burn in my gas step you'll know the [ __ ] I am I could be a stranger at home that's real what you said about Trump doing that's why I'm not excited about the prospect to open me and president because the bar is Donald Trump right if your reasoning for one over to be president in the exams Trump is president that's not a good enough reason to bar he's president because America dated a black guy and she liked it hmm like America dated a black guy and she liked it and and Barack Obama like if you believe that opening coal mines and factories is the way to make America great you don't need a president you need a [ __ ] time machine and 2018 exactly right we're gonna put rivets on phones what the [ __ ] you do like it you can you can you can you can outlive your uses usefulness you can that industry does not exist anymore because we don't use it you know don't you gotta beYOU to believe that coal factories are coming back who where do we use coal we use coal on the ground all right so I don't what he did was made them think like literally that we were manufacturing in coal mines that existed in the 50s so you would rather have America go back 50 years then go to DeVry like you would rather you would rather set the world back in time then actually try to educate yourself to the jobs and the opportunities that are available today that's what that's that's why I don't feel bad for people or in these situations when black people were it we're in situation they weren't advancing they moved they went to Chicago they went to New York they want to they want to you know Los Angeles they moved to where opportunities where you have the temerity to believe that those opportunities should come back to you just because you wait mmm-hmm no we'd be broke absolutely I just I don't feel bad for them because we're like like to me this whole this whole opiate crisis why is it a crisis when young white kids on drugs black kids on drugs it's a crime why are you answering your own question yeah I don't I don't feel like I don't want you I like like I don't want these things to happen but I don't I don't I don't necessarily feel bad for them because you don't have that same level of outreach and compassion when it's somebody other than you mmm like like these all these women they watched what Donald Trump did they watched with more and more joy and they still voted so they're thinking behind it I don't even make sense to me why we demanded more from Hollywood and we do the government exactly or athletes or athletes like it and the whole like I'm mad at the football players because they're privileged and they shouldn't want to you know what shouldn't want to uh to uh to cry injustice do you realize the very physical attributes they get you drafted in the NFL when you're a black man if you big you black you fast you strong that should work on Sunday but on Monday that'll be the reason they're quit you quit to do the kids Mike Brown so you can't people have a vested interest in saying what they see and pretending and stop and stop pretending they don't see what they do see it's it we it timeout for that call [ __ ] what it is and until we do that like the whole me to movement it got to be them too you can't you can't just like went over told that story about those six there you go there were a bunch of women they were married to those men there was a lot of women that didn't say anything there were a lot of women that if it didn't affect them they moved on well if you're telling me about the me to movie I was going back on as far as Jim Crow and when they could do whatever they wanted and nobody said anything about it we got airport schools libraries name that the people who brutalize us are we gonna fix that too mmm-hmm so if it's me too how far do we go back cuz if there's statute of limitations on what you fine agreed right there's a stop in the 50s 60s when when when when is the moratorium up on being a shitty human being clearly never right so I think this should be held economy like imagine how many black kids are going to schools after in the air or drive down streets or go through airports across bridges who are named after men who raped murdered and brutalized absolutely right I grew up driving down Strom Thurman Highway in South Carolina for years I even think about it why do you got highway and the problem is well why did anybody say anything before because you got killed if you say something before the make of this we're having a the problem in America right now is the idea of us is in conflict with the reality of us the problem with America is we got Google now the idea of well you know we're place where you where you can come in anybody can be what they want and then we're we're this shining a city on a hill all right that is the narrative but is that the reality we have that black made black people in this in this country have never been had a school modern schools built for them they've never lived in areas that were built just for them they've never had an opportunity to truly succeed on an equal playing field never and what what happens is is one successful person if one Rose managed to go to a concrete they go how come y'all can't be like that when white kids they get an opportunity to fail over and over over again we're supposed to all be we're supposed to all follow the example of the exception this this one guy made it so you can do it to Barack data so you can do it too and so it we have to stop telling ourselves this country has not been fair and it's never made an effort to be fair and now it sees that over and over again and it's mad that people keep saying it was like a mirror getting mad like a fat dude getting mad at America's he fat you keep telling me I got so where's the balance though because you want to encourage kids and you want to tell kids they can transcend these circumstances but then you don't want to tell kids like look some of y'all gonna fail everybody not gonna make it so wait where's the ballots well the the balance is you what our parents did you got to work twice as hard to get half as for the you had an honest perspective listen by telling me what the odds are and telling me what the drawbacks are and telling me this truth you give me an opportunity to understand the stakes if you tell me I can be whatever I can be knowing that that ain't true and no like I know my son some kids son like I see like people with my son made the honor oh I'm like my son found the school twice oh there pass correct and then and then path to success is not like I have a daughter that what that is as a cook I've adopted as a producer I have a son that loves crime with God he loves the radio aspect but I wouldn't tell them that could be anything they wanted that's not true I can't be look at you right when you when you started off as a comedian I'm sure there's no way you thought you would be as big as you are I'm sure from the hood show your parents was like hell no stop just come on in the grand scheme of things and what I've always been I'm a cat who told you what I thought hmm so so they might not have understand stood that I was gonna be a comedian but it would have been wiser for them to foster that aspects regardless of where where it led to then the chair me to get a regular job so I'm not saying tell people they're gonna fail but find out what they're gonna be we're like well everything you are you were yeah that's true everything you are you already know lets foster those things instead of trying to make people one cookie kind of thing where your idea of success is not and my idea success have to have to have the same kind of ruler you know America's problem America and I've always said I feel like our obsession with celebrity is gonna be exactly did the death of us exactly that's why I think when position where now we got a celebrity and chief in the White House and talking about putting others that's right to me all the time people want to be on reality because the fame man we feel like our lives these kids feel like their lives aren't up to par like the cook is looking at the guy on TV saying damn I want to be that but you probably making more money than that do it on TV the thing about it is and we don't even have a real like in every metric and you notice to be true every man that a country uses to be great to assess graders were like well live like mortality rate education we're not in the top 15 America leads the country we don't lead not an income not nothing but but not an education not an infant mortality everything that makes you a great country we don't even went out in top 15 but you know we lead the world in confidence we like a big chick like we're like a big chick who refuses to see how she looks [Laughter] you should be the same size of the leopard you came so and that's America we refused to see ourselves how we actually are like it's like listen you ever heard yourself on a recording and when you hear yourself you don't you don't sound like you because you hear yourself from the inside out everybody say you from the outside and that's America they never really see out and until we do tell we deal with that reality right or change honestly not even not even do you really think that's the but this dude right here is the best we could have so you you want you this is our representation to the world that's to the Aurora listen either you voted for him or you didn't vote which was voting then either you voted for him or if you didn't vote you still voted man true so you you you you don't get to know everybody everybody got a chip in this game you can't say this is not mine this is America and all of us live here and all this is you know to it but but it's it's a place that you can I love my children I'm gonna let them do whatever they want my parents love me well now really cuz I pay their bills but I'm just saying they fed me but but you can't have a relationship with something you love and not have the ability to be lovingly critical of it no shift gives a little bit did Bill Cosby really tell you he didn't like you yeah why like anybody like that he didn't like nobody said [ __ ] he didn't like nobody that didn't do comedy the way he did he didn't like that you know I might not like a lot of music or a lot of way people do things now it's like anybody like every generation has that but he really had a level of control and like he really hated Def Jam he hated it and again because it wasn't his his kind of it went his get down and he really tried to make them not do it anymore like the whole label he didn't want he didn't like look at all those great comics that came from that that lineage all that the but it but it took coming in the direction that wasn't necessarily his respect and he really was actively trying to stop he didn't wanted to he thought it was a it's ironic cuz he thought it was a shitty depiction of black people who wear his drug and Brides might be worse you know no no it definitely definitely is working I had an argument one day me like you say [ __ ] and I said well at least nobody wake up with their panties on backwards you know I'm saying that because just like Hollywood it was a known thing that Bill Cosby was doing this in the comedy world you remember when I was on kiss yep right and he called in to do an interview and me and Jackie read another cat were we had the morning show so he called in I knew he didn't like me so I let him do the interview about five minutes in he was being such a dick I would a man who what he wants to know who is it this is DL Hughley you say [ __ ] you do this I said no disrespect but at least when I say that I don't a co-ed don't wake up drunk with her pants on his panties on backwards and you know he they wouldn't let me it came down as like he said I said this is I said he said this ain't gonna air I said because we were pre-taping I said the [ __ ] name and he said what and five minutes later or 10 minutes later those people came down and took that tape said if you air it you won't be a radio game so you can see why a woman would beep absolutely just speak out against me because he could dead your career absolutely absolutely so that's crazy so that so I don't I don't have I don't have the kind of like I you can be both he I think he L economy to a level that we all have learned from and it's impossible to have the uncommon last 50 years and not have been influenced by him in some kind of way but that doesn't mean he's not a whole you moving to but that's extremely extremely hypocritical it is to portray yourself that way and the public will be doing that impress people like that though that are so against something right the ones that had their own skeleton right it's like when you see people that are so against homosexuals right right you could tell cuz we're talking about there gets almost like a little bit doing it on their knees well in context how to contact anything sounds bad but I do I do agree that people pretend the people hate things the most usually are the ones are taking it they usually comedians are forced to be more politically correct nowadays how did that happen everybody thought we were he everybody thought we were the same like everybody thought we'd all had the same it's another lie like we all had the same opportunity and we all have it which we should all have the same kind of kind of perspective on things but comedy used to be a place where you had to go and you wanted to hear something profane you would have a drink and you would hear see somebody and smoking on stage maybe talking [ __ ] like like it was the thing you went to to be to get away from your regular life like we used to listen to comedy records when our mothers would leave and fathers would leave we go down the basement and listen to some [ __ ] you know comedy used to be a thing it was you wasn't supposed to hear so you knew that set it up is like that parental guidance there's a parental advisory you knew you were seeing some hearing something you weren't supposed to hear now everybody spoke to say like like one Donald sterling you know said he didn't want no [ __ ] coming to the game I mean because we're forced to be with everybody it's like people like each other oh I love these blacks and the gays and and and and the Mexicans you get on these things are [ __ ] the job up so it's oh my god there used to be a place where you could let off steam and you could be [ __ ] up and that in comedy was a part of that and now everything has to be pristine and everybody has to pretend like they feel ways they don't and these they're like that's why I'm like me and George and said and and Eddie on this comedy get down to it cuz it's just cats who really still do comedy the same way they used to and yeah obviously it's taken you know sometimes we get a lot of heat but it's the way we do it I remember I told that joke about Bruce Jenner and everybody like lost their mind like the joke I would like to me she look like mrs. Doubtfire like I didn't I don't get it like you don't know no and I drink but you got a war people was so mad and I'm like yeah like the girl Laverne Cox he went for that she got the Premium Package Bruce just with the herbs instead not my soul you can but but to me anything has the potential to be funny or at least ironic and and I just won't do a comedy that that I could where I can't tell you what I feel about organically about a situation I just won't do it what do you I disagree I just too bad you don't do that on the radio show no stop it everything from relationships to a woman's role he's he can be you know a little show Vanessa we had fun with do it and when he came on lip service cuz it was all women yeah and him so you know interesting kind of relationship we fight hard we really do but then when we do agree on on some things it works like we agree right now is almost 10 o'clock in the morning right no but it's 10:00 now when this is right right and he'll say well no no no it's after it's is like you know seven but it doesn't matter it's like just because you believe somebody has a different role doesn't mean a specific role doesn't mean you have a lack of respect for them like like what we're talking about gender in this case yeah I think like my wife doesn't work she doesn't work so I if I if she makes a meal I don't think it's disrespect for her to make my plate I don't I don't think it's disrespectful listen here's the gig I think a man's only gig is to provide and protect his family all they should do that's it and if they're not doing that there's no reason for us to be here but I also think sometimes that that means I'm gonna do things you don't like and I don't feel like explaining them like what oh I can't tell you that no like I have a girl my wife she'll say how come you can do it like I don't believe that question or that clearly if if she did what I did then I wouldn't see her the way I see her anymore if she was like me then I wouldn't I wouldn't have like sees you differently now too though maybe maybe but but if if you were like I think one of the things I lament about women is they they have so much that they're taking the worst attributes of men like like badges of honor like if he can do this I can do that but what like what makes society better is the way that we feel about women I think what makes society better is women because they're just better than us right and they've been tolerant of all [ __ ] but if they start acting like us is horrible like I don't believe like if it's late at night and my wife would say I'm giving go to the store and it's 12 o'clock at 10 o'clock at night all right I'm not that ain't know why I'm what you know you ain't go I don't even get undressed to my family's home but like I like I'll fall asleep when I close on to my family's home I'm gonna open your doors but you're not gonna do some things I believe put you in jeopardy and that's a easy explanation why you want me to go because it's 10 o'clock at night right oh you won't get it you can add whatever boy but I appreciate some if my my boyfriend would be like I'm coming with you right this demo and I walk my ass across like he'll just call just before the show because we're talking about you know the show or whatever and he'll say where where are you going and I'll say oh I'm gonna run whatever but then if I say so where are you going his answer is always the same don't worry I don't believe that you like like it's like when I says my father was going to see a man about a dog and I was gonna take a walk on we never got a dog he was what he was saying is none of your business I believe there's a reason that men died before women there's a reason that we have some of the health problems we have and it's because we spend a lot and not not to say that women don't but I believe that one of the problems in in our communities is that men have left women to fend for themselves yes and they're doing that best approximation of what it's like to be a man or whatever you know i'ma do this the best the best I can in terms of this or that and it's taken really it's really blown the balance I don't I don't believe that that that that we have the same roles I believe our roles are distinctly different and now they've become so muddled because you guys have to do so many things I mean like to me if a dude ain't a kids family that men work and women didn't work that's just how I used to be we couldn't vote there were a lot of things that we didn't do there were times that we didn't even go to school but as things are evolving there's women that make more money than men do your you know there's women are it's a lot more happening now for women it's just been a process and now roles have been somewhat years right but here's the thing we can volve but don't be like us cuz we riot we trying to tell gonna continue to be better than you right but I'm just saying that rolls have been evolving no no you're not better than somebody cuz you say you are you're better than somebody because you actually are but if you take on the worst attribute if if I don't care how pristine is water is if I put dirty it's dirty dirty and and I can't understand why people think that the worst attributes they've been exhibit are the ones that they do gravitate what y'all doing I think part of it is like I still want just because you to know me doesn't mean I'm gonna cheat on you please don't know you know and it's the repercussions from that could be I leave or I could choose to work and stay but I'm not gonna do what you do I'm not gonna be do something wrong just because you did something wrong or do something that morally I don't agree with or something that I wouldn't do as a person just because you did it right but I think that a lot of people don't feel like that but I do think sometimes men have to put themselves in a woman's position and say how is this gonna make her feel when I'm sorry but that's that's human that's the ability to be imperfect like I don't I don't think like I remember and I told you this on the path I don't think men get to this place and they stop doing something they just round win yeah like like men not like it like it you men when I used to get right it's cuz they got they ran out of wins it takes too much energy to stab cheating because he just got too old and tired to run around it was too much work right too much effort I had to wait it out see Chatham Street scared straight yeah but that says the same thing you know what it is when gas prices is real high out of California [ __ ] got right like hey you got the money to go see you gotta [ __ ] my wife now that is why men get annoyed when you on the phone with your wife and your wife asked where are you yeah because you like ain't doing nothing but that's what you really want why you bother that's why we have a history that's exactly right like you will you're talking about white people in the Confederate statues we got our [ __ ] - what are you doing she'll actually look on its gonna see if I'm well sale who did women in the background I can't I can't get I'd never get mad about that I never get mad about the things that make me mad is I don't I'm not one of these dudes who believe with you like I ain't going to church just because you tell me to like I think I think I have what like the same person people that gave you [ __ ] gave you Jesus I just can't reconcile like they taught you a religion when they told you didn't have a soul like like I stopped believing in I stopped believing in religion but I meant when they were you should say what we shouldn't read about slavery and they say they would talk about saying I'm like witness the kids slave kids they wouldn't ask Santa for a bike they'd ask for their brother back you know could you uncut my father foot off you know so there's all these once you know [ __ ] it's when you and you start to reach in aware of [ __ ] it makes you it makes it it makes you feel hypocritical by pretending like you don't see yeah I've never told my kids about Santa and I always wonder at what point in life that people get everything they want in fact Christmas to make them believe in Santa Claus hmm we never got everything one Boyd is a franchise kids should've been a person he would be like you know goddamn thing they never told me there was a Santa Claus hey I did not do with my kids - it's not even the Santa it's the whole feeling of wanting and waiting and being good and in the siene their faces crispness and how happy they are and but if they're not privileged people they get morning but uh I work hard for my kids like that but that's that's a different thing when you're giving him my father didn't give me everything but he gave me a work ethic I defy you to find somebody work harder than me everybody's excited about seeing Black Panther but I'm gonna go see it too but I think if a black superhero any power it had it be the ability to make white people believe it like I think that's more important to me like I'm tell in the jury box yeah but I just I think and to see that people are so excited about the fact that there's an imaginary character black character like it's like I didn't watch the clips cuz if I want to see something rare that only happens once and I'll look for justice I ain't gotta look up in the sky I'm in a courtroom so to me and and and that is that is my creative perspective that's my ethos that's what I believe and I think that a lot of times people see that as negative to me it's just kind of the way like we have these arguments all the time I just I think that I never forget my gig is to make people laugh but we're gonna do it this way you're very smart with it edutainment I tried - what's your relationship like with Steve avi nowadays I love see we talked to Def Jam and I and my whole rant was about Trump and how he uses black people as caricatures like I'm so happy like Mme roses was the [ __ ] Wrangler I'm so happy that this book fired fewer came out cuz she'll never get a book doing that but I think that my rant was about the way that you could have a great intent but he will always prefer your intent he never was going to meet with anybody and any black person to him we're caricatures where where I went ornaments with something to say with something to normalize it we're like one of those people like you know how somebody says I have a black friend he uses pictures to say that hmm like everybody's his friend you'll hear him talk know them really well he said that about yeah but but I'll call her I'll call her a name soon as they shake his file so I my problem was Steve was never him it was that that that the Trump used him and I was angry and people misinterpreted it for me maybe I still love Steve with scissors ties did he get upset with you yeah did he call you about it yeah well he didn't but I wasn't you know like I didn't I felt like when he says like he was on a show and he was saying basically you didn't why didn't call me and and and before he made that Rand I'm like you didn't call me before you went to it if he had called me and said what do you think about me going to the White House I said everything I had to say that yeah so it was it was never you know not the White House by the way Trump town dakota comedians cuz Kevin Hart and Michael Blackson got into it right because when everything happened when Kevin Hart and his wife and cheating and then Michael Blackson was making fun of him and camera her I said like every day he was putting up a new skit and so he had a kind of a feeling toward him about that his thing was he was in the middle of the issue and he felt Michael Blackson was making it worse right and we're supposed to be friends probably but we're also support like if if me and you were playing basketball we're best friends right and we're going for a championship and I know you're injured am I going to play you softer no no I don't I don't think that that's see I think the the testament to friendship is knowing that we can have disagreements and misunderstandings and still be friends it's not that we don't test the bounds of our right and Charlamagne got caught cheating right sure and you're making fun of men you know what you went through with it right and now Charlemagne is in the middle of it and now you know you're doing the skits and it's being refreshed every day and his wife is hearing every day if you see me out in public arguing my wife about me cheating don't walk over there and be like yeah I cheated dirty [ __ ] don't think that I don't think that's the I don't think that is is is the challenge I don't think that a friendship should deny anybody their natural kind of thought if he if he wants if that's his thought and that's his creative process I would be irritated but as a comedian I would understand listen comedic Lee every joke has a victim right everyone everybody's the butt of the joke so and so I I would I would I would make sure that it didn't come malicious place but that and I probably wouldn't do it like every day every day if I'm doing it every day it's about some other [ __ ] it's about me trying to capital off lies off a shitty situation if I do it just kind of once and and that's because it's so obvious everything that the first question people ask me invariably is how are you asleep so I have to I'm not gonna be able to not address that right and I do agree that if you're doing it every day and those skits every day it is it is trying to take advantage of an of a friend situation that's [ __ ] up well you don't have a joke about it I don't think that's interesting you say that because after the fact Michael did this caption he even said you fooled American long enough you corny unfunny [ __ ] so that lets you know like I had a cat I used to work with right and uh and and he was doing this podcast a couple of weeks ago and we not not because I'm worried about it because I don't want it you would know but he's purposely not but I don't want to say his name cuz I don't want to give him no shine but ultimately he was my dear friend we were in radio I had to protect him a lot he quits the show and start [ __ ] on me now whatever I did or didn't do I protected you and put a lot of bread in your pocket and when they didn't like you and when they tried to they would I don't know how many times they were on the brink of firing this cat and I would not let it happen so however I came at you and now you know you could be strong-willed and be you know not used yeah I'm not the easiest cat to work with but one thing's for sure if I'm with you I got you and if I got you then you think without a never let them do nothing but the hair when people do [ __ ] like that when they when they try to emasculate you and know that they would never say that [ __ ] to your face that bothers me but all I can do is I'm still proud of this cat I'm still happy he's happy but now I know that I went on my way for you and you never appreciate it you took my bread you like this do you live it right now if the [ __ ] you save up the [ __ ] I gave you and so whatever we have or don't have I would never cheat on you is the hard to work with judgment yes what does he got the hardest part is I think I know he's just gonna say whatever it is that he feels and so sometimes that causes us to bump heads a lot keeps the light sure and and he's demanding but I get it cuz it's his name on the show and and I know that he has the best intentions for the show and only the the the highest goals for the show so you know he works a lot I've never seen anybody who works like that and so I look at it like well he doesn't take vacation I'm not gonna take a vacation cuz he worked so hard I feel like I have two equally work hard and so I think in the room sometimes people feel you know well that's not fair you know I I don't want to do this and I don't want to do that but I keep looking and I'm like well if he's not sitting down with his feet kicked up and how can I do it that's what we got we fell out because I bring my boy on and this bride is working harder to him I'm like Ozzy all I wanted you to do is go to work like it's like I felt like a woman taking care of a man II don't know Winx but you better go to work I don't take a day off one I don't take a day off if I'm not on the road or doing the regular podcast or write in the book I don't take any days off because that's not my thing and I'm not saying you can't not take any days off but at least look like you were like you know you ain't really working with the balls come by you pretend like you're doing some [ __ ] do that fool me like my wife asked me do you love me do you care if I love you just pretend I don't I don't give a [ __ ] how you feel about me I care how I feel about you if she doesn't love me and she pretending good and I'm all right you think up if you just fool me I'm up for being fooled all the time you fool me pretend like you working pretend like you trying like my kids do it all the time they got me figured out they pretend like they give a [ __ ] and it's not right clicking on a computer I got a GED I'm easily fooled that we can sit and talk to off hours I just want to touch on this before we leave like I've been sexually assaulted as a kid right by a woman how come men don't look at it the same way women do when I was I told you yesterday yes you did when I was 13 I like this little girl 11 she was 23 I liked her right and I would always talk [ __ ] to her let me let me have it whatever you know you don't know what you're doing with it you all know what you're doing with it's a one time she said okay so she takes me to her place and plucks the [ __ ] out of me and I was 13 she like gave me handed out she said don't you ever say ass when a woman suck your dick don't ever do that I had no like I had no concept so I would that was my woman to me like she's you huh you my man so she when she would come pick me up and take me over there and I thought I had to be at this woman forever like I had to marry like she would make food with onions then she didn't know I didn't like she was smoking the bed after we like I'm 13 I'm like I don't want to live my like getting the head from my cousin's ex-wife and I was all for it until she got a jheri curl and I didn't like it I wasn't yeah I wasn't and then she like she like I want you to do it at my house I'm like I'm a I'm a boy like I had no so I thought I had to be with her at all that was a big thing so one time I can't she pulled up my mother was outside I go to get in the car and my mother asked her who she was and how she was she told her and said don't you ever come around here again and I'm getting in the house and I remember walking back to the house like this because I thought I was gone I thought I had to marry that woman but I'd is not a negative it didn't like I didn't think that was so you think that I wouldn't think I was really no yeah yeah I mean just dealing with it like just in therapy when you're talking about things that happened in your past yeah cuz I'm like I never thought it it never bothered me easy until you like maybe maybe I did I've been to therapy alone I never I've said that really it's not it's not a thing how many times you gotta have sex I like Wow a lot and it was the way I saw like yeah a lot because if roles reverse if that happened to my door my daughter's nine I'd handle the mother right you know what I'm saying I'm just like why don't you know while others minute we don't look at it the same well I was it's not a until you said that you went to therapy and talked about in therapy I was in therapy for years in it that that subject never came up I never thought about I didn't think it was wrong till I saw Tyler Perry on Oprah crying about it now that was really I think he had a black men look bad in his movies because he wants to have all the black men for himself so he wants black women and look at black men and be like I think he well to me if she gets mad when I say stuff like this I think one of the gays places I've ever seen is black churches like they had a Gaines places yeah like like it's three kind of dudes go to church gay dudes children in Tyler prayer and and and and men who [ __ ] up so bad they like make them like like they like no straight dude goes astray like if you go to church all the time and you're single you're going to pray the love of take out your heart you really are you not you're not just not you not just keep in mind be held in jab and have the own radio no you don't need to email to breakfast we have the old radio show they come on every afternoon we just got Philly Atlanta Dallas Cincinnati whoa Indianapolis what is our email I don't know but a mailman I do what I do with all of them Friday with George Lopez set the annotated charlie or not charlie he's not gonna be me I got to one thing about is Charlie's you know this is how bad I don't like Church right so I'll go to Charlie's funeral man and I loved him like they was and the first two I was like we all went we were there and it was saying two hours went by three four hours five at six hours I have been in church so long I went why didn't I die I should die right now and I wanna no no this one is too high yeah it keep faint so I have to keep doing it I want to take jasmine for bringing me some
