Developing A Strong Spirit (Week 1)

an 81 brought your prosperity that's right that's right Gloria I'm so glad to be with you again here this is so much fun we really thank you I'm going to confer on you a doctorate of prosperity oh really all right doctor thank you dr. prosperity I'll take it I'll take it well Gloria here we are again I mean the Lord is so good to us and it just keeps getting better and better and better you know before we get into the message today a couple of broadcasts ago glory now we're talking about supernatural provision so I asked for testimonies on supernatural provision you guys came through Oh send us more send us more testimonies we want to hear the good things that God is doing in your life and and over the next two weeks that glory and I are talking it's you know it really is encouraging to hear what's happening with the people and for instance this particular person was watching one of the broadcasts and there we had a time of Prayer for people in difficult financial situations that their finances would be turned around in 24 hours right he's God now she said it was connected to a verse but I cannot remember what the verse was at the moment second Kings 7 1 it's the one that says this time tomorrow that was the verse that we use so there's your verse so she said something in my spirit reached out and took hold of that prayer and that evening my mother called and told me that my uncle wanted to give me his BMW convertible my husband called and told me that his boss just raised his salary $20,000 a year starting Monday and she says glory to God hallelujah that's supernatural that is terrific that is supernatural so Gloria we'll be reading these as we go along and again I want to remind you that all of our notes that we're teaching right now you can go to KCMO there if we if we do it long enough we'll have one for every day you know I was thinking about that that would make a really good yearly devotional a year of prosperity wouldn't that be something and you know you've done an awesome job to me coming up with all these good things I have been a student next year will be 40 years that I have worked again hardly 40 years old I know I was very young when I got here but I just so appreciate you and Kenneth for what you have put into me and what you are continuing to put into me into Terry to our family to the body of Christ we're so thankful we're so thankful we're so grateful for what the Lord has put into all of us yes we can live a victorious prosperous yes yield happy yes praise god thing missing nothing nothing missing and nothing broken and we are prospering spirit soul body financially socially in every way now I want us to take a look at our foundation scripture for this topic because at first you might wonder well what does this have to do with prosperity it has everything everything to do with your prosperity and proverbs 18:14 in the amplified translation is the scripture that we're using and Gloria we're going to be talking on these two weeks we're going to be talking about how to develop a strong spirit because when your spirit man is strong then it's easy to receive it's easy to resist and it's easy to stand on the word of God the stronger we are the more we're able to receive from heaven the stronger we are we know not only prosper but we live in hell we live in health and blessing that's right that's right it covers it all awesome it covers it all and I must I must give credit where credit is due on this study this came from a study that I did years ago listening to brother Keith Moore and he has a series that he offers on his website you can download at Moore Life Ministries and he taught that way back when he was working for brother Hagin it was during healing school and he was teaching about how to develop a strong spirit so I took those whatever they are the four CDs that he had or four messages that they had and you know how you can take something like that and just start building on it and it just gets bigger and bigger and bigger so I took those teachings studied them out and here we are now on ten days of talking about how to develop a strong spirit race God so let's take a look at our foundation scripture this is proverbs 18:14 I'm gonna read it first from the King James but we're focusing up on the amplified and the King James Bible says the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit who can bear I like the amplified translation listen to this the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain or troubles but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear we have to have a strong spirit we've got to be strong walking victory that's right if we're going to walk in the things that God wants us to walk in then we need to have a strong spirit to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might if you don't have a strong spirit when trouble comes you'll cave that's right that's right that's right and to talk wrong and believe wrong and everything you own we have a strong spirit yes and we're getting stronger all the time that's right any trouble that's right glory to God let me read to you here in your section on the notes Gloria section a I just want to read to you these are these are phrases sentences that the Lord has given me as I've studied this out to help build a foundation for where we're going in this study it says they're on point two of a it says a strong spirit will cause us to overcome physical attacks financial problems relational difficulties job career and ministerial setbacks emotional challenges it will cause us to overcome everything that the devil throws at us I mean when we get strong on the inside there is nothing that can stop us nothing that can hold us back nothing that can keep us down when you wake up in the morning and you've got a strong spirit on the inside you don't wake up and say oh no I've got to get up again you you get up ready for the challenge a strong spirit makes a way for God to move come on Gloria if you're talking weak sick come on that's right you just shut the door on to the supernatural but we don't do that we don't do that strong spirit keeps the door open for God to move well that's wonderful thank you strong spirit keeps the door open yeah for God to move God to move that's awesome here it is point three we can build a barrier a forcefield a wall of protection around us so that when the storms of life hit we stand like a rock on shake I'm shaken and movable we are completely rock solid and that's that's part of what this ministry is called to teach to teach people how to get rooted grounded established anchored on the Word of God and get our hearts so established and so firm and so strong but no matter what happens no matter what is done no matter what is said we are strong in the Lord and I like what brother Keith Moore said he said a strong spirit will get you through anything that's the truth I like that anything you know we've been at this for a good many years there's a lot of you know and we've had lots of things that to overcome primarily you know if you have a your bills are saying million dollars a month including your payroll if there's a little pressure to that if you let it be right and there have been times when we got behind just a little behind would be a lot in that circumstance but if but we stood and God always brought us yes yes and prosperity is it usually involves other people right but hailing is just shoot you know directly you and God's right and it does it but regardless God moves he fixes things yes he does things he gives you wisdom yep and I'm here to tell you that after all these years which have been how many have we been in the ministry it's 47 and I'm only 50 considerably older but the point is that God's always come through that's we know one time we you were you were head of the office when we got one of the six million dollars behind yeah that was dug on the million dollar your brother then it was million we just started daily television daily TV yeah and guess what we came and we came out because we stood in fact we stood believe god that's right we came out and we never have been back there again no man like that no you really do gain ground yeah more you endeavor to strengthen your spirit and during this these two weeks we'll learn how to do it we'll teach them how to do it and how does how to strengthen your spirit you get accustomed to living in the supernet and so when something happens it doesn't throw you then you know you don't get scared you just know where the scripture is and you go to it stand on it and you're not moved you're not gonna say it was always easy but but it'll always work it'll always work god here's another very happy keep talking on point four our spirits can become so rooted so grounded so established in the word that we can actually repel disease stop care resist sin override doubt dissolve offense and block pressure excellent you spoke excellent thank you Oh hallelujah that says it that's it right there and you know we can come to that place where sickness cannot attach itself to his person with a strong spirit that's right John G Lake when he took that that sample of the plague and put it in his hand and everybody was scared that that thing was going to attach itself to him and then when they gave it to the doctors and they put it under the microscope the plague had died it came in contact with the energization all of the activity of that plague had gone done that's that is the power of a strong strong spirit and then number five here we can build up our spiritual immune system you know we have a spiritual immune system in the same way that the body has an immune system that a body's immune system can start to go down and it opens the door for all kinds of things to come in the spirit of spirit of man is the same way and the stronger our spirit is as we said here we can build up our spiritual immune system to such a degree that sickness cannot penetrate it discouragement cannot sway it fear cannot stop it bad news cannot move it and adversity cannot affect it and how do we know if we're there what are you what you're saying what you're saying yeah whatever you're saying you're given an opportunity and you're just saying like if you're if you're having symptoms of sickness you know what people wanna do is tell somebody I'm sick I hurt exactly ever yeah and you're just saying come on in devil come on in yeah you're doing it with your mouth and when we we learned to not ever give him any place and should we slip we repent quick yeah you and really I mean you can really tell the condition of somebody's spirit by what's coming out of their mouth I've heard brother Hagins say this you know you you can you can see where somebody is spiritually right away you spend a few minutes talking to them and from the N I wrote this down in my Bible because it's what you said you said from the abundance of the heart the mouth leaks so let's go on in this now Gloria in third John 2 we're familiar with 3rd John to wish above all things that you may prosper be in health even as your soul prospers that's the will of God and that the statement I want to make here is the degree of success we experience is directly connection to connected to the to the condition of our spirit the degree of success we experience is directly connected to the condition of our spirit why is that because out of the abundance of your spirit or your heart the Bible says the mouth that's why it's so important if you're beat down in your spirit you're gonna be speaking unbelief and doubt and letting the devil in and we'll never get out of this and I'm afraid I'm gonna die and whatever and that's have to be that way that's a sign of a weak spirit now the New Living Translation of 3rd John 2 dear friend I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in that sex period that's right strong in spirit so just a couple of phrases here without the proper care the spiritual immune system will weaken opening the door to the effects of the curse this lack of success is an indicator of a weak spirit so our spirits must be fed they must be strengthened they must be trained developed and exercised in the same way that we do our bodies and our minds and we Gloria can become so spiritually strong that our mountain-moving faith will produce it will produce mighty results unhindered by any force whatsoever take a look at your second page there and I'm quoting from brother Copeland's book God's will is no actually it's the laws of prosperity excuse me the Copeland's book the loss of prosperity when John said we should prosper in being health he added the phrase even as thy soul prospers man is a spirit he has a soul consisting of a mine and a will and the emotions and he lives in a body thus there is spiritual prosperity there is mental prosperity there is physical prosperity to prosper spiritually you must be born again when you accept Jesus as your Savior and make him the Lord of your life your spirit is reborn and brought into fellowship with the Father the Almighty God this then puts you in a position to receive from him all things that are promised in his word praise God amen but if your spirit is weak you're not going to be able to receive those things the stronger your Spirit is the easier it is to receive the easier it is to be able to take hold of what God has for you get a strong spirit by the word God yeah by the word of yours that's right going into your heart that's right furnishing that inner man with strength strengthening the inner mouth what to say and not say that's the big deal yeah that's that's crucial heard about a big mouth yeah I'm telling you well Gloria friendly word Ephesians 6:10 says be strong in the Lord in the power of his might and that's there in point C of your page in the amplified bible I like that in conclusion be strong in the Lord be empowered through your union with him draw your what strength from him that strength which is boundless might provides so Joel 3:10 leke let the weak say I am strong every believer has the potential to walk in a greater place of supernatural strength on the inside the stronger our spirit the easier it is to receive the easier it is to resist the devil the easier it is to stand on the word of God easier it is to say right thing the easier it is to say right things wrong and I'll tell you something Gloria I was we were at the ministers conference here recently and brother Copeland was talking one night about the time that Vanetta and AW Copeland his parents took you in Kenneth to an oral roberts partner meeting and during that time there it was before you were in the ministry the lord's dealing with you and brother roberts lays hands on all of the partners they laid hands on Kenneth and when brother Copeland was coming back to his seat he had an open vision and he looked around and he saw all of these people and they looked like he saw their bodies but then he saw into their spirits and theirs they had huge heads but emaciated spirit stick stick bodies and so I met the minister's conference and he's preaching along and I was right in the middle of preparing these messages when I was when I was at the conference and all of a sudden he began to speak and Gloria he started talking about this and the importance and what happened so I want to take you there right now look at this clip glory not right now while I'm sitting there watching him suddenly now this shown an open vision eyes I've ever had I welcome them praise God then one sees this is November in 1966 all of a sudden all the people in the line everybody but brother Roberts disappeared they they became transparent I could see the outline but they look like they were glass and I could see through them on the inside they're their inner body the inner person in there looked like a stick figure you know this big around and I'm seeing God is allowing me to see the spirit man the hidden man of the heart now their heads were about this big create big justice grotesque look at looking thing and when I saw it it hit me with such a force I didn't realize then of course I don't have a clue what was a little bit it's just enough to have a little understanding him I learned later that's when the anointing for this ministry went inside and was imparted into me and when I saw them I need to tell you it I wept and I wept I wept from way down in here because I was seeing it the way God sees it he said you are looking at the emaciated spirit beings of my people and he said their spirits their heads have been educated at the expense of their spirit and they're spiritually hungry and they're weak he said if there were if the physical body was that weak it would die of starvation but a spirit can't cease to exist it just keeps getting weaker and weaker and weaker I I just couldn't I couldn't shut it off I wept and I wept and I wept and I wept I said oh god oh god oh god and he said I have called you and I have put something in you to fix this father in the name of Jesus we are here Kenneth Copeland ministries is here to fix that situation of emaciated spirits and get the body of Christ strong I pray for you right now glory not pray for you in the name of Jesus that you are strong in the Lord and in the power of his mind thank you that you're getting stronger and stronger every day and that whatever the devil throws at you you are able to stand firm stand strong because you're getting strong in him you're getting strong in the power of his might and father we honor you and thank you for these two weeks that you've given us to we are in training right now we are developing and training the human spirit to be strong to resist sin to receive from you everything that you have for us and father we praise you and honor you that a strong spirit of a man will sustain it in bodily pain and trouble thank you Lord we glorify you and praise you for this in Jesus name Amen Gloria we're talking about developing a strong spirit developing a strong spirit the difference it does make all the difference it makes all the difference to how we live to how we see things to how we receive from God to how we resist sin I mean it just affects everything and the stronger you are you can really tell an individual who's strong in the Lord I mean they won't they won't take any guff off the devil at all they incentive absolutely to develop our spirit strong spirit that's right and then we're getting stronger and stronger all the time strong spirit is not moved by what it sees or hears on the news star the doctor says like somebody in the family a strong spirit it's moved but it's moved toward the word if you hear bad news yes you don't just take it and start saying it and say you know I don't know what we're gonna do now you move it energetically yes go to the word of God and say this is what I believe so you overcome it a strong spirit will talk back to the television oh absolutely you gotta talk back I just think it would be a riot to sit there with Kenneth and watch the news but I can just see him preaching talking and he he was talking to Terry Nye one day about you know all these ads that come on TV about what whatever kind of sickness and disease and so forth and he said you need to learn how to speak back to the television there's a healing for that there's a healing for that you know some of the things that have taken place around the world and they're been horrendous things that have taken place around the world and when we see things on the news about something going on over here something going on over here devastating things we're getting to the place now we point to the television say there's an awakening for God for that there's a move the Holy Spirit there is the glory of the Lord the outpouring of the glory for that place in that nation and so that's just representative instead of sitting there and getting into fear and thinking when's that going to hit us when that's when is that going to touch us the strong spirit of a man will ray rise up and declare his rights in Christ Jesus and you know this is what we do when the news gives a bad report they need to be about financial things it could be about an epidemic we say we talk back to it we say it's not coming here we're not going to have that that's wrong we're not having sickness and disease we've been redeemed now you got to have something to say but but once you get it it just comes right out yeah that whatever that word has to be down on the inside of us - such as a download download it - when the pressure is on the only think when the iSight like this when the devil puts the squeeze on you yeah the only thing that comes out is the word of that's good George I like that that's George proverbs of George proverbs of George okay so that's what we do and on this broadcast today and what we're doing in these two weeks Gloria you and I are just we're in training we're exercising our faith muscles we are helping you train up in these things so that you know how to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and that you don't get run over by the devil but you get strong enough and really the whole purpose of having a strong spirit and developing a strong spiritual life is to be able to reach out minister to others that's right a person who does not have a strong spirit who's weak weakened in their spirit they're not going to be able to help somebody else somebody will come to them and say you got to pray for me they've given me a bad report and a weak spirit will say well what did they say what did they tell you and oh that's awful that's terrible oh my god you're gonna die but a strong spirit will rise up up and over and say I believe this is what I believe this is what I believe this is where I stand this this is the Word of God so today Gloria on the broadcast what we're going to do today's topic is seven benefits of a strong spirit this is why these are this these are seven reasons why we need to get strong in him so let's take a look at this we'll start with the first one here a strong spirit will get you through anything that's right now that for gain that came from Keith Moore he's the he's the one who originally taught this that I had learned from him about and that phrase just resonates in my spirit a strong spirit will get you through anything and again it goes along with our foundation script strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain or trouble lift him up over that but the other side of it is that a weak and broken spirit who can raise up and bear now who has control over whether I'm a strong spirit or a weak spirit that has to be me that has to be oh yeah we control are in control over our spirit now how do you get a strong spirit by meditating and going to the words rubbing it in your eyes and ears mmm that word stirs up faith in your heart and then you say faith instead of unbelief in sickness and yep poverty Terry and I listen to the Word of God every night that's what we're going to sleep sex we listen now I lit I listened to brother Copeland by day and I listened to brother Hagin by night hey you know I tried listening to the Kenneth Kent I can't get to sleep because it's so but then brother Hagin especially in the day services that he used to have he can just he can talk and it's just going down it and it just loves me to sleep it's magnificent but we keep the word going up keep the word going up I'll keep the word going all the time all the time faith comes by feeding on the Word of God so a strong spirit will cause us to overcome physical attacks financial problems relational marital difficulties job ministerial setbacks emotional challenge everything that the devil throws our way and look at the scripture here in point three proverbs 24 10 if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small we can't fight we can't faint we can't afford to fight if you fail the New Living Translation if you fail under pressure your strength is too small too small but if we if we stand firm and we succeed under pressure that's an indicator that's right that our spirit is strong so that's one reason we got to get strong is strong spirit will get us will overcome everything you don't wait until trouble comes and say oh let me get my Bible no no no no no this is a place for you Lea know if you want to succeed at this you do this 24/7 I know that you and Kenneth do this Terry and I do this we're in constant training yes we're constantly feeding all the word we're constantly talking about the word as I've told you before in the broadcast first thing we do when we get up in the morning as we declare the word I mean right right before anything else good morning brush teeth whatever we just we hidden and we declared the Word of God and we say things like we are expecting our greatest blessing ever today because great grace is upon us all we have victory over death and the manifestation of the love of God we declare the glory of the Lord over our lives our church our ministry we believe for the manifested presence of God the manifested goodness of God the manifested power of God in our lives we walk in the supernatural supernatural health supernatural wealth supernatural protect I mean we just go alright we go on and on and every time we do it we get a little stronger and a little stronger I mean we just confess and declare the word yes Amen this next one a strong spirit will help you receive from God Gloria one of the reasons people are not receiving is they're not strong enough to receive I remember watching brother Hagin one time in a service that he conducted and in the service he was talking about the development of our faith and he was talking about why people why people don't receive their healing and why they don't hang onto their healing once they're prayed for and he was talking about the early days of the healing the the healing revival in the 40s and 50s and he knew some people that would go to these meetings have hands laid on them and then two weeks later whatever it was came back they weren't strong enough to hold on to it and some people are not strong enough to take faith to hold on to that's right it's faith in healing I know you know Keith Moore is very prolific at healing and in the healing ministry he's done it he's prolific and just and he was telling a story about how he this woman that was dying of cancer he he went over to pray for her and just kept feeding the word and feeding the word and feeding the word and it began to turn that situation began to turn and just kept the pressure on the devil and on the situation with the word of God and so the stronger our spirit is and I believe what we're saying here Gloria is that we don't we can develop ourselves to a place because God wants us to receive everything that he has so the stronger our spirit is the more we can accomplish the more we can receive and I'll quote Keith Moore here he says you can't catch much with a Snoopy fishing pole Snoopy Snoopy fishing pole you know one of those really short ones that you buy for little kids you can't go out there and catch some huge Marlin in the deep sea you can't do that the stronger the pole and the line the stronger the bigger the fish you'll catch so he said the stronger your spirit is the easier it is to receive and you keep that by imparting imparting the war and letting it come out your mouth exactly yeah exactly Gloria look at point-c on your page a strong spirit will help you hold on to what you received right like I was saying a moment ago that that when hands are layed on on you for healing you receive your healing the more you develop your spirit the easier it is to hold on to that healing yes you're not going to let the devil get anywhere in there and at the first sign of any kind of a symptom a strong spirit that's gonna say no that's right devil no no by His stripes I am the heel there is I mean you look at me right now and there's an intensity about me you know what that is that's a reflection of my spirit that's what's going on in the inside that we had we had a service last night last night Wednesday night service it was a pretty intense service we had manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit at the end of the service and I came out of there with chewing nails and ready well that's the reflection of what's going on on the inside and so you'll be able to hold on to what you receive from God the stronger your spirit is Galatians 6:9 amplified let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint and acting nobly and doing right for an do time at the appointed season we shall reap if we do not loosen and relax our courage in fate so the way to live in victory is to maintain strong spirit mm-hmm the word going in your ears we don't wait from people shouldn't even wait from Sunday to Sunday to get the word that's right much less from you no revival to revival yeah we maintain with daily word daily strong spirit that's the key amen daily daily you know on the last day of our broadcast next week we'll talk about 7 Habits of strong believers good oh that sounds and one of the first I think the first one is they read their Bibles daily a daily a daily regimen and that's what it is it's a daily spiritual regimen there are things that I do every day in my daily regimen to stay strong things that you do everyday things that Kenneth does Terry does things that we have to do to stay strong so don't we don't lose what we've received and we are the ones responsible for the development of our faith and just not lay back and let the devil run over you so if you go to page 2 there Gloria will a second page of your notes at the top of the page in Hebrews 10:23 let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering hold fast don't be wimpy no faith don't be wimpy I like that don't be wimp don't be a wimpy believer I don't well that's kind of an oxymoron because wimpy and believer doesn't go together so don't be wimpy that's right but get strong in the Lord I mean take waver take your Dominion take your authority I would say Gloria being here I started listening to brother Copeland's tapes tapes in 1976 he sent me two we admit I had proposed to Terry and then talked to him wrong way but but when I sat down and talked with him you were just started I was just starting out and I was I was anxious to get going I guess but but he he and I sat down together and had a conversation out there at the lake Arlington office during the Christmas break he said George what do you want to be what is your goal in life I said I want to be a man of God I think he liked that oh yeah that was the right answer that was the right answer and he said George I'm gonna send you my Bible course he sent me every tape every tape hey literally three huge boxes made it to oru they said come down to the post office get your boxes they work know whether they were cassette sent by that time and it was funny because I was talking to your brother Richard and he was working in the distribution room at that time and he was the one that put together my tapes he pulled all the series down he said who in the world is this guy that brother Copeland is sending those tapes but you know what Gloria when I got those tapes I listened to him I devoured them I inhaled them and I have not stopped yes 1970s victory in every area world a world overcomer you're looking at a world overcomer champion two champions but there is a god side to this and there's a man side and the god side is I'm going to provide you with everything you need the man sizes side is that you take what He has given us and you put it into use in the military they give you a weapon well at some point you're gonna have to shoot that weapon yeah you can't stand there looking down you the nose of your enemy and stand there holding a weapon and not do anything and that's been the problem with the body of crime waxing bold and bold and strong right now well the scripture says this is the victory that overcomes yes the world even our faith so we've got to know by that that we must strengthen our faith grow in faith keep it strong don't quit and we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God so there's no excuse for us not to be strong there is no excuse and I believe that's the thing that you and Kenneth have taught me really the most over these years is to to take this word stand on it act on it believe it that's why we take people from the milk of the word into the meat of the words so they can do this very think people are struggling out there and they don't know what to do and they're having a hard time and they don't realize that their spirit man is is that emaciated spirit he has to be got to be fed and I have I have just about run our time out let me read you a couple of things if I can glory in the last few minutes a strong spirit will help you resist the devil and temptation this Ezekiel 16 30 how weak is your heart saith the Lord God seeing you're doing these things isn't that an interesting scripture that's that's point D number one Ezekiel 16 30 how wick is your heart sayeth the Lord seeing that you're doing these things well a strong spirit will help you resist the devil it says in Ephesians 6 be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might that you may be able to what stand against the wiles of the devil read Hebrews 10:23 that let us hold fast to the profession of our faith with keep possession of it without wavering a strong believer doesn't waver let us seize what a season of it without wavering without wavering that's right another one another one says a strong spirit will help you help others Romans 15 1 we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak a strong spirit will help you withstand impact in pressure and the example that I use is skyscrapers and San Francisco that are designed to absorb the shock well our spirit man can come to such a delight place that we can absorb whatever shock the devil tries to put into our life and we just stand there and stare him down because he cannot control us he cannot move us and as a strong spirit will build a protective barrier around your heart sickness can't penetrate it discouragement can't sway it fear can't stop it offense can't enter into it and we become like the person in the hundred and twelfth Psalm surely he shall not be moved forever he shall not be afraid of evil yeah my heart is fitting this is one of the things that I confess Gloria my heart is trusting in the Lord my heart is established so those are some of the benefits and you know we didn't get to go through all of the scriptures I just talked on some but I'm telling the anointing is here right now the anointing is here and you get the notes and all the scriptures that we didn't cover are on the notes but I have an unction to pray for them right now may I do that father in Jesus name we pray over every believer that's watching us right now and I say in Jesus name you are strong and you're getting stronger you take hold of the Word of God you confess the word of God you meditate the Word of God you act on the Word of God and you grow up grow up in him and you overcome the world you overcome the world overcome the world and everything in it with your faith let your faith get stronger and stronger because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God and you say this after me you say in Jesus name Jesus I am strong in the Lord I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and in the power of his mind and I'm getting stronger every day getting stronger every day but the weak say let the weak say I am strong I am stir in Jesus name glory to God thank you Jesus praise God praise God that's where we're at Gloria that's where we're at and we're getting stronger a strong spirit yes we do we're going in our eyes in our ears and coming out our mouths come on God I'll be applied to the situation yes yes just keep it in there it's got to come out and it'll change things get you out of debt it'll bring you health when you when you don't when the doctors say there's no hope face always there and it's a done deal when you act on it amen and the purpose of this broadcast and it has everything to do with your prosperity its spiritual prosperity which affects everything in your life now overall this is what broadcast this is this 183 and then we're headed you guys ought to write and tell George how much you appreciate what he's done yes endless has demoted us with word and an insight which brought faith and miracles and thank you well and I and I thank you cuz you and Kenneth have been my teachers for 40 years I mean I've been glad to know we happened under some good tutelage here this has been good and you know talking about testimonies Gloria we we've asked for testimonies and listen to this one this was a woman who wrote us who was watching the broadcast she says she listens to each broadcast multiple times so that's that's how you develop a strong spirit and she said yesterday my husband received word that his company had been approved as a vendor for 50,000 governmental agencies in the United States 50,000 governmental like that's supernatural not only does this open up a huge financial opportunity which is supernatural Wow but it opens up kingdom opportunities he said everything they teach is rooted in the Word of God and he and his colleagues simply go down into these businesses teach them how to have and maintain a kingdom culture and how to walk in love with each other that's just the beginning that's just the start amazing that is amazing so we're getting strong every day Gloria developing a strong spirit in our foundational scripture is found in proverbs 18:14 the amplified translation it says the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain or trouble but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear now what do we learn from that do not we do not want to I mean what I was just gonna say that I was gonna say what do we get from that that's right weakens broken spirit is not what we want we need to be strong in the Lord and we have to stay in the world that's right and the stronger we are the easier it is to receive from God the easier it is to stand against the devil the easier it is to stand in faith and that's what these broadcasts are all about it's amazing Georgia is the weakest person I mean this might be a person who everybody says he can take the Word of God and he can become a strong spirit of people around him will say well what happened to him look at him what have you changed he's changed boldness about him he's gotten a hold of the Word of God and he's developed his spirit to the degree that and you know where this that in the same way that you can develop the physical body and you can develop the the human intellect you can develop the spirit and for instance a person who goes to work out in a gym even Arnold Schwarzenegger could get just so big I mean he was big at the height of his career but he could get so big there is no limit to the capacity of how strong in the spirit we can become no there is no limit whatsoever so that's what we're pressing into on these broadcasts is to get strong in our spirits and today we're talking about why developing our spirit has to be a priority it must be a priority so the scripture that we'll start with here is 1st Thessalonians chapter 5 23 into a very simple this is a very simple teaching here about men being a three-part being and spirit soul and body oh that was important to learn for us 1st Thessalonians 5:23 it says here the very God of peace sanctify you how holy come and I pray completely and I pray your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless under the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ so we realize that we we are a spirit being we have a soul and we live in a physical body and that phrase right there is the phrase that brother Hagin used to develop a spirit consciousness he would say to himself I am a spirit I have a soul I live in a physical body I have a spirit I have a soul I live in a physical body taught that he taught that to all of us and he taught us the importance of the spirit of man and why the spirit of man has to be developed and trained brother Hagin every day yes you keep saying what I'm thinking right now I think it's wonderful keep going I can sit here and you'll say the whole thing but what you just said is true we have to eat every day in order to have to be nourished I will I'll go out shopping with Terry and be nourished you have to be nourished now tell her did this a few weeks ago we were out shopping all day all day and I told her I looked and I said Terry you're gonna have to feed me if I'm gonna keep going so we stopped we ate something I was ready to go that food energized me it's the same thing with the Word of God you have to eat the word and we'll be talking about that that's good George but the body is the earth suit it's the tent it's the house it's the tabernacle that we that we live in and I use an example here Kelly used to live down the street from us when we lived in a place called Lake Country she lived down the street all the kids were so little and I can remember one night we were there we were had a big meal together as our kids hurt kids and it was just a great time it was summer you know and they didn't have to go to school the next day and so we're finishing up the meal I went out front to get something in the car and I turn around and look back at the house and it was it was dark but the house was lit up there were lights on in every room kids running around I I thought look at that look at look at the life that is in that house well some time later she moved I was taking a walk one night and I walked by that house and it was totally empty dark nothing happening there was no life in it all right the spirit of men is the life that's a example yeah it's the life of the body and like brother Keith teaches the spirit is the life of the man it's the hand in the glove it's the knife knife in the sheath it's the sword in the scabbard like the gun in the holster and that life that is in our bodies comes out of our spirit and the life that is in your spirit comes from God so that's why it's so important that we develop man is the candle of the Lord yes and so as we said much effort is spent on developing the mind developing the body but not as much on the heart not as much on the spirit and the heart Romans 10:10 we believe with the heart we believe with the heart so the stronger your spirit is Gloria the easier it's going to be to believe God do you remember when you didn't know any better than to just be sick yes ma'am we broke yes and what yes oh the word changed that adding your spirit with enlightening my spirit that's what I did when Kenneth sent me every message that he had when I when I was engaged to Terry and he was he was giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and I had it I had a decision to make when those boxes showed up what am I going to do with those am I gonna let them sit on the shelf or am I gonna start listening to them and Gloria I started I started with the image of God in you tape series and I devoured them I listened to them every single day that's what we did brother Hagin and it started feeding my spirit and I've not stopped doing it since and so in Proverbs let's look over at proverbs what I'm sorry what were you gonna say you bet no I'm just I'm just so excited proverbs chapter 4 oh look at this paging hardly oh look at that look at that will show that page will show your proverbs 4 we'll get a picture of that show it oh the spirit of man must be protected and developed as we read here in proverbs chapter 4 in verse 20 my son attend to my words incline your ears to my sayings let them not depart from your eyes keep them in the midst of your heart your heart is the spirit for what they are life unto them that find them in health and medicine to all of their flesh then it says in verse 23 keep your heart with all diligence does that mean just spend time in the word when you got extra time no no no you're it it means we are constant on this we are constantly looking at the word and we keep our hearts with all diligence for out of our spirits flow the issues of the forces of life that keep that life going on the inside of us let me read to you Gloria a translation and amplified King James of that verse 23 it says keep guard and protect your heart which is your spirit with all vigilance and with all diligence and above all that you guard love all above all things from out of it out of your spirit flow the issues the life forces and the springs of life the force of life from God comes through our spirits awesome that's to get to our mind into our body hallelujah so it's important to do this that's why it must it must be protocol that we take care of our spirit that we feed our spirit and it says in James 2:26 the body without the Spirit is dead that's on point be there number two the body without the Spirit is dead our spirit is the generator and the power plant it's the most important part of our lives we're spending time working out in the gym and spending time studying and spending no time exercising and developing the spirit that has to change for instance the scripture says that the word what does it say oh it's left me right now the word empowers you yeah it's medicine yes to all your flesh medicine medicine to your flesh glory to God there's healing in the word if you'll spend time in the word you won't have to spend time in the doctor's office there's healing wholeness wellness word of god same thing is true with money and prosperity Hebrews 4:12 the Word of God is a as a live active sharper than any two-edged sword piercing to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and joint and it goes between poverty and well that's right sickness and hell that's right I think word of God will strengthen will strengthen our spirit whether you're in a meeting somewhere or you're feeding on messages or you're studying it so you just you're just putting that word of God down on the inside and then you're exercising you're exercising your words and we have to be strong a couple of these scriptures that you have there on point three of B 2nd Corinthians 4:16 though the outward men perished the inward men must be renewed day by day that's excellent so we must get strong day by day Ephesians 3 4 14 says you stay strong day by day day by day daily daily is the key Paul prayed that we would be strengthened with a might by his spirit in the inner man the stronger your spirit the more you're able to receive and resist a strong spirit will get you through anything right there Gloria I was in the presence of somebody some years ago early 1994 or so in this individual we were in a hospital and the doctors had just given him the report that his his body was just completely engulfed with cancer and so we were sitting there at one point with several people around us and he asked someone he said he said how do you die how do you die and the person that was standing there took off their coat and said this coat is your earth suit yeah and all you have to do is take off your coat and your spirit will go free well the group went out into the lobby or the hallway to talk to the doctor I stayed inside with this man he fell off to sleep and it was a Wednesday night and I was sitting there with my Bible I was preparing for my my Wednesday night service and all of a sudden I looked up him and I saw him take his last breath in Gloria I literally felt his spirit go by me out the window Wow I felt it and I mean I just get chills thinking about it today his spirit left him and his body I looked over at his body and his body just went the air was let out of the balloon a balloon is nothing unless there is air in it the the body the physical body is nothing unless the spirit but I'm telling you there's nothing to sustain nothing to sustain his life but he didn't he went he didn't really died he just left he just left he departed his departure he went up he went and I because I know him and I know he was born again and I know he went up for two reasons one because he was saved and two because I felt the updraft I'm telling you glory it was an experience it was an experience being in the presence of being with someone when their spirit leaves their body and it went out the window went out the window that's why it's so important that the more we develop our spirit the stronger our bodies will be and the first steps to make Jesus the Lord that's the number one otherwise when you go you go down go the wrong direction Jesus Lord and when you leave your body you'll go up and to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord so we take care of our spirit we feed our spirit we develop our spirit and I've watched you and Kenneth do that I didn't I did not know you when you two met and got married I didn't know you back then I've only known you only known you since 1975 but you've made great strides and changes from the time you first met until the time you ended in the ministry in 1967 there you're you're developing your spirit you're listening to the word you were listening to brother Roberts and you were listening to brother Hagin and feeding your spirit we grow that's how you grow hi everybody growth that's how you grow gloria we have to stay spiritually fit that's point c we have to stay spiritually fit and if I might I'm not sure how much time we've got left over five minutes okay good we can do this spiritually fit in 1st Timothy 4 verse 6 let me read this to you if you put the Brethren in remembrance of these things you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine see we faith words nourish that's right that's what phasors words nourish that's what feeds your spirit so we're nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine we're in the HUS attained but refuse profane and old wives fables and exercise yourself unto godliness for bodily exercise profits a little but godliness is profitable unto all things having promise of the life that is now and of that which is to come now if you look back at your notes over here let me read to you this these two translations of that verse verse 7 the Living Bible don't waste time arguing over foolish ideas silly myths and legends spend your time and energy in the exercise yeah keeping spiritually fit proverbs 22:24 10 if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small one translation says if you're weak in a crisis you're weak indeed that's a truth in another one if you fail if you fall to pieces in a crisis there wasn't much to you in the first place that's the message translation it's a message translation but listen to this if you stand though if you stand in the day of adversity that means your spirit is strong our spirit has an immune system and built up it will resist everything weakened and depleted it will be susceptible to anything yes the degree of success that you experience in life is directly connected to the condition of your spirit that is your physical body your family your finance everything George you were in that wonderful position ahead of the business yes when we got how many million six million deficit yikes million dollars yes and so on and you had to you got to experience first yep but we experienced victory we experienced the least date on the world we did we did one of the things that we did as a staff I knew you and Kenneth were praying but every day in the month of December of that year when it was at its height we just I took the staff first thing in the morning and we went and we just worshiped and praise God together and declared the Word of God and we crossed over into the new year that was 1990 that was 1990 of that new year and all of a sudden was only what two months of broadcast yeah we were just barely on television when this it just came and hit but we crossed over into the new year we just kept standing in faith we did when all of a sudden income went up all of a sudden I mean supernaturally by the time we reached May all of the the accounts payable were paid in full and then on July the 10th at 9 o'clock in the morning your sister Jan from accounting brought me the final check that paid off all of the TV bill and we rejoiced in it we have probably not been on TV today I'm telling you you can't quit no matter what you're going through do not quit you receive the strength that's coming out right now through you to you and read the seed the strength to go through in victory whatever you're dealing with and whatever's going on in your life and you make a determination right now I am gonna get spiritually fit I'm not gonna get in a position like this again I like to say when the going gets tough the tough get going hallelujah we don't know we're tough we're tough and you're tough we're tough God we're tough we were talking to brother Copeland the other day about a situation and boy that strength rose up on the inside of him he said you got to walk by faith in that you got to take the word I mean you could hear him sharing our listening on the speakerphone it's like we were both standing back like this well that's that strength coming forth and no matter what you're facing no matter what's going on you can come to the place and I'll finish it with this okay you can come to the place like what like Paul in the book of Acts acts 20:24 where he said none of these things move so it's important it's important to put spirit priority thank you begin to feed your spirit develop your spirit we'll get more into this as we get into these broadcasts but that's important Gloria the spirit man is important and we're these broadcasts two weeks of broadcast how to develop a strong spirit the stronger you are the more you are able to receive from God the easier it is to do things I mean it's the same thing with with weight training if you're training in the gym there's an endurance and the easier it is to resist the curse you can resist the curse absolutely so you build up you build up your body you build up your mind in the same way you build up your spirit and the stronger your spirit is you can overcome anything with a strong spirit here's our scripture give it to it proverbs 14 18 14 in the amplified translation it says the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain or trouble but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up in bear you can't bear up with a weakened broken spirit you can't no you can't no do not have a weak and broken spirit no and we can we can develop our spirit we can strengthen our spirit and as we get deeper into the broadcast we'll talk to you about exactly how to do that but the main thing is feeding on the word I mean that's the big that's the big thing about developing a strong spirit I remember hearing one time brother Keith talking about this and he was talking about the power of the word of God and back in the days that brother Keith was teaching at Rhema he was also traveling on the weekends preaching so he's teaching all of those classes during the week then he's going out on the weekends preaching and he came back from a weekend of preaching had a day off from school and he was just exhausted he was tired and he tried to lay down and sleep and he couldn't sleep and the Lord said to him you get up in your bed and you take your Bible and just start reading through I think it was the Gospels and he said let the Word of God begin to energize your spirit so he did that and it did that very thing sometimes there's not there's not enough sleep that you can get that will overcome the weakness of what you need spiritually there's not enough television that you can watch there's not enough laying on the couch what you have to do is get up and get your Bible or get CDs and begin to listen to the Word of God and let that word of God feed you because the Word of God is alive active sharper than any two-edged sword the Word of God is life and health and medicine to all of our flesh so we have to develop the inner man because the spirit of man is the power plant and we have the beans stay in the word every day every day we have to stay in the Word of God that has to become a daily habit to us so these are the things if you talking about howdy how can you tell what not to do what not to do and the things that that go on on the inside in the scripture that I found for that is Ezekiel 16 30 it says here how weak is your heart seeing you do these things Wow how weak is your heart seeing you do these things what are those things those things are the things that we're going to talk about here in a minute but what not to do this is also Gloria when a patient is experiencing symptoms in their body and they go to a doctor because they don't know what's wrong the first thing the doctor does is check the vital signs and these are the vital signs oh that's good George these are vital signs that are indicators that point to something that is wrong and things that we're doing you can just tell I can tell I can tell myself because for years I I keep a check on my own vital signs I can tell when my attitude begins to slip I can tell that when I get physically tired I try not to say too many things unless I say the word that's right I can tell if if Terry says something to me that maybe agitates me and and the key yeah that's a sign because the key is and I didn't I did not used to do this but I do this now and whenever that would come up husbands and wives have a habit of just sort of unloading each on each other and saying what you feel and and and so but in the recent years when something like that comes up I turn inward I look inward and say Lord what what's going on here and it has saved many an argument for me just keeping my mouth shut and just letting it ride you know that's an are there's an art there is an art to that and I realized sometimes that when things are affecting me that a sign there are times I'll just give you an example if I'm in a meeting here at one of our offices and the meeting is going on a long time and we're talking about things and it's it seems to be taking a turn that I don't want it to go sometimes I just get up and leave the room and I'll I'll go and just collect myself and I'm I pray in the spirit a little bit and get some perspective and then go back into the meeting and say what God wants me to say so we have to check our own vital signs because that's a good way to say there are spiritual vital signs that indicate a weak spirit and if those vital signs are undetected what we're going to be doing is looking for outward consolation for something that is inward for something that you have to go to the word on and find out and start feeding on the word and and get delivered from that and get a strong spirit so let's take a look at that song I can't sing read sing it peace peace wonderful ease peace that's a good one to sing under pressure wonderful peace coming down from the father above coming down from the father over my sweep all over my spirit forever I pray oh I get peace right now singing that song I agree we need to just go to our corners sometimes and sing peace peace wonderful peace so here are the vital signs let's take a look at these glory and they're just listed there one two three one of the vital signs is an indicator of a weak spirit is being overwhelmed yeah and when you're overwhelmed people have a tendency to make much out of a little and make mountains out of mole hills and they can't they can't seem to handle even the simplest things that's an indicator when you when your heart is overwhelmed it says here in Psalm 61 - when my heart is overwhelmed what we have to do is these lead me to the rock that's right lead me to the rock that is higher than I we need to take a higher vantage point and this proverbs 24 10 I like this one you said the stronger you are the easier it is to do life yeah that's me big statement that's exactly what it is to do life I like every so often I have one of those buttons from I forgot what company it is but it's it was an that was easy have you ever seen that it's it's a little it's a little round thing and you press it you press the button and the voice goes that was easy oh I like it and you press it that was easy that was easy and when your spirit is strong it says here in proverbs 24 10 if you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small God's word translation says if you faint in crisis you are weak message translation if you fall to pieces in a crisis there wasn't much to you in the first place now that's pretty plain isn't it that's just as plain as you can get so the stronger you are as we said here the stronger you are the easier it is to do life so what do we do we stay strong we stay strong we stay strong and we can that will take care of being overwhelmed and bring you over into the place of being an overcomer instead of things overcoming you you are overcoming things and it just puts I'll tell you Laurie the stronger you are it gives you a different perspective you can look I can be in my office in this world you'll have tribulation but but I have overcome overcome our yes that's a key you know I can be been overcome Jesus did it for us I can be in my office at home and depending on the condition of my spirit I can look at a stack of work that has to be done and I can either look at that stack and if my spirit is weak I'll just go man I'm gonna do the cave that's a good word cave but when my spirit is strong nothing is impossible I tried praise God that's a nothing now what is a what is the key to that keeping your spirit strong yeah spending time in the word it were doing what it says obeying it walking in love speaking the truth look at Jesus Jesus had a strong spirit oh yeah and you look how he he responded he never caved under the Pharisees and thus not even when he knew it was time for him to be that's right and he was the words that he would speak he would get them from the father and he was he was in control of the situation at all times and never never saw it as as being overwhelmed so the stronger you are the easier things become and you can you can look at a less for instance a day that you have before you with everything that has to be done and when your spirit is strong you'll look at that and you'll you'll see it in a different light than you've ever seen it before a strong spirit will give you a different perspective on your life there'll be a hey that's that's well what I learned living in Texas that's no hill for a stepper that's right so the stronger you are maintain a strong spirit with the Word of God yeah that's the key that's the key is building yourself building yourself up you need word every day because there's stuff out there trying to happen yes ma'am and you learn this you'll learn how to put it in your eyes in your ears and let it be in your heart and come out your mouth you can live in victory this is a victory that overcomes the world even our faith that's right so being overwhelmed is one indicator here's another one being hopeless yeah hopelessness hopelessness is a sign because because really none of us should be hopeless because of the I mean Jesus paid the full price he bore the curse he bore the curse for us were redeemed from the curse of the law and those kinds of thoughts just going through you there'll be no hopelessness but hopelessness people are it's a lack of joy in their lives and a lack of joy is a sign that your spirits not strong your strength too small your strength is small and you're giving in yeah you're giving in to things in proverbs 13 12 and the amplified Hope deferred makes the heart SiC but when the desire is fulfilled it is a tree of life yes so Hope deferred it makes the spirit sick it it weakens the sweater faith faith can't be deferred mm-hmm it's right now that's right now it's right now and if your hope I'm hoping this thing's gonna turn around yeah then the answer's deferred you're not taking it you take it by believing you receive when you pray you take the answer that's right Lori to God Lori one of the things that I've developed personally in my own life is expectation yeah faith is the substance of things hoped for that word hope there means expectation expectation is a red-hot burning earnest expectation without stretched neck of those things that belong to you I mean there's and I have I have personally developed an expectation in my life I'm expecting things all the time I live in a constant state of expectation preparing for these broadcasts and coming in here to be with you I had expectation that we were just going to go through the roof on these broadcast and we are I just have an expectation and you need to develop develop your spirit the stronger your spirit the greater your expectations will be yeah that's right let's go to the next page they'll come to pass they'll come to pass your expectations we'll bring those things to pass that's good yours another indicator of a weak spirit is being self-centered when you're self-centered you're thinking about yourself that's the second page at the top so overwhelmed yeah self-centered self-centered there's no compassion not to do another one another one in that self centered victim mentality yeah I mean have you ever talked to anybody it's always somebody else's fault right it's always somebody else did that hey that's the way they do that's it's a victim mentality and it's always somebody else's fault and that is a sign of a weak spirit a weak and broken spirit in Romans 15 1 we then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves we then that are strong we then instead of being self-centered we should be helping people and the stronger your spirit is the easier it will be to reach out and minister to other people stead of moaning and groaning right we should be right we should be reaching out and helping others so my place is strength somebody if you're in the same shape they're in no no you got to be strong that's right and in the power of his might the bible says another indicator of a weak spirit is being complacent complacency is indifference or indecision people get locked up because they have decisions before them they don't know what to do they're confused they can't see which way to go they see all of these different options but but a strong spirit will focus you there'll be an intense focus and an understanding and a wisdom that will come that will that will show us what to do you know a person for instance in Romans 422 bruh ham he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but he was what strong in faith giving glory to God and being fully persuaded what he had promised he was able to perform what God had promised him he was able to perform yes so I I contend that the stronger we are the more bold focused and decisive you become hallelujah I've watched brother Copeland over these years I've watched you over the years there's a there's a boldness about the two of you there's a fokin focused part about you there's a decisiveness about you you you know what to do you know what God's called you to do and we know what not then you know what not to do the next one the next one is short-tempered that's what not to do that's what not to do you know when a person's spirit is weak they give in they give in and they're easily offended easily offensive oh there you are you've taken offense now you not and anything come out there that's right and it just spirals downwards short-tempered touchy offended overly sensitive people that are out of control anger is a sign rage is a sign of a weak spirit there's no control no control over the flesh now read that proverbs 16 33 16 32 16 being quick to get negative give up he who rules his spirit then he who takes the city yes so the person who rules his spirit is greater than any military force that can take a city that's when you feel yourself not filled with feeling but when you sense yes that's your you're becoming overcome that's when you take you take action before that but this now it's desperate time yes you've gone that far that you you know you sense that you're being overcome do something I mean getting the word listen to a CD read the Bible go to church get somebody to pray for you you've got to do that you've got to feed can't give in to unbelief and doubt and walk in victory and that's the way that's the way to get strong this is the victory that overcomes the world even though our faith that's right yeah here's another one an indicator of a weak spirit someone who's full of fear fearful mm-hmm a person who's panicked in war be fearful and full of fake anxiety this job for 5 in the New Living but now when trouble strikes you lose heart you're terrified when it touches you can't be that can't be that way we cannot allow I refuse to fear man that's right I refuse to fear that was the that was the story of Kelly when we took Lindsay to the hospital and they gave us that bad report about Lindsay and Kelly and Terry and I walked into the hallway and Kelly leaned up against the wall and Terry's standing right in front of I'm standing there and Kelly looked down gather that gathered her thoughts Gloria she looked up I was there the death of a joke death of a child she looked up at Terry I'm standing there looking at her and she said I refuse to fear I'm Gloria the moment she said that it changed everything I mean it changed me it faith rose up on the inside of us and that was many years ago and Nancy's well and strong today well strong feisty as ever back to that moment her mother wouldn't take fear that's right and neither can we and when when our spirits are strong then fear can't touch us we we will not we will not react to fear we will only walk in faith that's what a strong spirit does that's what it does stronger you are the more fear free you will live stronger you are the more spirit controlled you become another one here exhausted tired weary stressed out drain inability to resist or to receive in 2nd Corinthians 4:1 and the amplified therefore since we do hold and engage in this ministry by the mercy of God we do not get discouraged we do not get discouraged spiritless or despondent with fear or become faint with weariness or exhaustion what do we do we stay strong on the Word of God we don't wait until desperate things have happened exactly go to the word every day we build ourselves a day and I wrote this stand every day I wrote this down the stronger you are the stronger you are that's right that's the way it is yeah we have to begin to build our strength and build that and you do it by feeding on the wording george ii print that 2nd Corinthians 4:1 again the amplified translation therefore since we do hold and engage in this ministry by the mercy of God we do not get discouraged spiritless or despondent with fear or become faint with weariness and exhaustion I believe we're talking to somebody in that condition I believe so industry I believe so in a minister urgent quitting that's right don't don't do it there's no future in quitting you rise up you get the word you get in a good meeting somewhere that's preaching the word and you become on fire again you don't have to quit you don't have to die you don't have to be a failure get in the word and go for it thank you that's it that's it Lauren alleluja alleluja we are strong in the Lord and in the power Lori to God what a time we've had talking about developing a strong spirit and I can just tell just in the time that we've been together my spirit has just come up to another level of strength and you know with a strong spirit strong spirit will get you through anything that's right anything that's any attacked the you know the foundation scripture for this is proverbs 18:14 the strong spirit of a man will sustain him in bodily pain or trouble but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up and bear so that's why we need to develop our spirits get them strong and keep it strong keep it strong on a daily basis reading the word exercising the Word of God declaring the Word of God I mean we've we'll be covering some things next week that talked specifically about the how to's of developing your spirit so we've just been laying some groundwork for this but what we know is this you can have a weak spirit or a strong spirit that's right the choice is clear yours we it's our choice it's our choice to have that strong spirit and I know that there are people that have been struggling about all kinds of different things physical challenges financial things but the stronger your spirit is the more you're able to look at that mountain in the eye and say be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and that strength just erupts on the inside of you and it comes out in an effects change in your life so all of these outlines are available right now yes as a matter of fact I've got one right here I've got a testimony from the last time we were on the broadcast this person said I received a call last night from a KCM staff person asking how they could pray for me I told them that I'd been watching the broadcast this week and was believing God to pay off our car about two hours later my husband came home and wrote a check to pay off the car glory to God hallelujah Jesus supernatural yeah supernatural that's good so and you know what I'll tell you I'll tell you before we get into the indicators of a strong spirit here's another indicator of a weak spirit somebody here's a testimony like that the difference between a strong spirit and a weak spirited person a weak spirited person says that never happens to me a strong spirited person says that happens to me all the time Alleluia it changes it literally changes our attitude that strength on the inside that's true and we just know that from just a natural standpoint you know you can go away for a few days Terry and I go up to Arkansas to the prayer cabin and we spend time up there in the cabin and in the woods and just thoroughly enjoy the peace that's on that property and I come home refreshed yes I come home strengthened I come home with wisdom from God and direction and and I think I sensed that strength on the inside you've given God town we've given God time and we need to do that every single day yes so let's talk about indicators of a strong spirit okay second Samuel 22 30 says this this is David and he says for by thee have I run through a troop by my god have I leaped over Hal David is an excellent example of a man with a strong spirit oh the challenges that he faced but the things that he accomplished and he was not given in to defeat but rather he pressed on to victory I believe that's what each one of us should be doing hey man don't give in okay then don't quit don't quit don't stop but press on press on into the victory and keep reading your word and keep studying the Bible and keep listening to the word and watching the broadcast no George we've been through a lot of things in all these years how long we've been in the ministry it's 47 and 47 years we have seen a lot of things 48 years we've been behind as much as what $5,000,000 $5,000,000 that was 66 million dollars it was the biggest yeah yeah and and we didn't stop you can't quit you just stay with it and every bill got paid that's right yeah you know there were times when I wanted to quit there were a couple of times in there with confession I wanted to drive I wanted to drive out the driveway and not come back I was it was discouraging because you were right in that position but then we just got in the word and began to feed on don't worry you don't quit you keep doing what you know to do and you will come out that's right you will get the healing you will have the manifestation of the finance right you'll have the family coming into the kingdom of God but if you quit hmm you're not gonna get it no most likely so I've learned even from that I've learned that whenever if you've got whenever we have gone through things really since that time I just I look at that victory that we had and say God did he do anything together I mean we can we can do this yes and so David David said in verse 33 God is my strength and power he makes my way perfect he makes my feet like Hinds feet and sets me upon the high places you know we should be saying that over ourselves god is my strength and power one of the confessions that I make quite often is I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bears fruit in my season my leaf shall not wither and whatsoever I do shall prosper man and I declare that over myself I feed on it and I allow my entire being to reverberate with those words and you should be doing the same thing - it's up to us you don't quit if you quit you know yesterday Gloria we talked about indicators of a weak spirit and if you can have indicators of a weak spirit you can also have indicators of a strong spirit and with a strong spirit what seemed impossible before becomes the easiest thing to accomplish there are things that I experienced even today that 10 years ago or 15 years ago I would have looked at that and thought how are we going to get stronger and stronger oh you grow spiritually you mature you go through things in the world if you stay in the worst day all baby and and I've seen with you and Kenneth when you first went into the ministry believing God for your first plane and when the Lord our car or car and when the Lord talked to the two of you about not borrowing money you know for a moment there you're wondering we're doomed you said we didn't know any other way when we got figured that when we saw it in the scriptures stay out of debt but you know and you'd think well how we're gonna have a car how we're gonna have a house but in truth when you get all the word whatever it is your money is whatever when you get on the word then what happens all things are impossible all things are possible all things are all things have been possible alright and so you look at something like that here you go we can do that and I was thinking about the airplanes that you believe for in the early ones and then believing God for the citation 10 the world's fastest civilian civilian aircraft and how how God brought that in and how we just stood and believed God together and and how that took plate you you wrote you grow your capacity grows the capacity to believe God grows somebody but doesn't know how we operate might think well you know you go to the bank you know we don't borrow money we believe money for us our nation ten we pay cash for it yes Father in the Word of God that's right so let's look at the cash let's look at some of the indicators of a strong spirit a person with a strong spirit as assured and confident I used a couple of scriptures here 2nd Corinthians 4 8 and 9 and 13 and 14 were troubled on every side yet not distressed were perplexed but not in despair persecuted but not forsaken cast down we're not destroyed we having the same spirit of faith according as that is written I believed and therefore have I spoken we also believe and therefore speak now there's only one way to keep strong spirit of faith you stay in the Word of God put it in your eyes and yours bring it out your and don't be moved by anything else but don't say anything else that's the key what you believe and that's what the Apostle Paul did to speak like that and then first John 5:14 and 15 I like this Gloria from the amplified translation would you read that read that from the end this is the confidence the assurance the privilege of boldness of legitness which we have in him we are sure that if we ask anything Mackendrick well according to his will in agreement with his own plan for this word right here he listens to and hears us and if we and if since we positively know that he listens to us how do we know because the word says that's right in whatever we ask we also know we're settled absolute knowledge that we have granted to us as our present possessions the requests made of him now what scripture I believe you receive when you practice make it when you're thrown you don't wait till you see it you don't wait till you got the money in the bank you take it when you pray there's a boldness that I heard in these scriptures and that's the kind of assurance and confidence it's it's a confidence in God it's a confidence in his word and the stronger you are English spirit the more confident you become another indicator of a strong spirit is that a person is established and unmovable yes Psalm 112 7 and 8 he shall not be afraid of evil tidings his heart is fixed trusting in the Lord no fear here his heart is established he shall not be afraid until he see his desire upon his enemies and the Apostle Paul said in 2024 acts 20:24 none of these things move me oh yeah that's where we live Paul's spirit was built up and strong and all the things that were going on around him he could say this none of these things move me say this after me Gloria and you repeat it to say I am not afraid I am not afraid of evil tidings my heart is fixed trusting in the Lord trusting in the Lord my heart is established heart is established I shall not be afraid I shall not be afraid none of these things move me none of these things move me now as we were saying that as I was saying that I was building strength into my spirit that's right that's right just another opposite of that I don't know what we're gonna do there's just no way for us to do this we don't know what's gonna become of us that's doubt unbelievable and that will get you deeper in instead of getting you a peek at glory that's it hallelujah sit right there we believe the word we are word we are not of those here let me run it let me run and get this script we are not of those who we are not of those who what's the risk where am i okay here we go should know we are not of them who draw back oh that's it we don't need this 10:39 we are not of them who draw back under perdition but of them that believe we don't draw back under pressure to the saving of the soul hallelujah we are not of we don't draw back we don't quit that is an indicator of us strong spirit thank God for the word here's another one Gloria number three a person with a strong spirit they're ready for anything yeah that's right Paul said this in Philippians 4:13 amplified I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me I'm ready for anything and equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency that's a big gun I used I use that a lot isn't that a good one yeah and you can speak these that's the reason we want you to get the materials to print these out so you can you can boldly say I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me I'm ready and I equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me I'm self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency whatever it whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our I believe in the word overcomes the world that's the overcomers overcometh the world but he that believeth that Jesus that's right is the son of God that was right that would be me too that would be me thank you Jesus this scripture from David in 1st Samuel 38 the enemy came and destroyed their their camp at zig lag and then they took all of the women and the children away and people took their families away and David's that the people were going to stone David I mean they were upset with him but what happened David encouraged himself in the Lord did the amplify Bible says David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God and then he did that to such a degree than in verse 8 of 1st Samuel 30 David inquired at the Lord saying shall I pursue after this true shall I overtake them and he answered him pursue pursue for you shall surely overtake them and without fail you will recover all pursue overtake and recover all here's a man that was facing a most desperate time in his life any and couraged himself and strengthened himself with the Word of God and then he turned to God and he said God can I pursue after this troop can I overtake them and that's the kind of attitude we need to have how do we do that how do we encourage ourselves with the written with the written word you got it well how do I know what it says well you could even find out where to look under pressure mm-hmm where to look if you have a symptom of sickness right these what Scripture that gives you victory that's right where to look if you have symptoms of lack are you bills you can't pay look in the Word of God and find out what it says about scriptures like this that we're talking about you can't stop you got to keep going to win with the Word of God can't stop glory can't stop Alan the last few here in the last couple of minutes that we have an over comers attitude you just read the scripture the he that who is he that has this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith in Romans 8:37 the Apostle Paul who obviously had a strong spirit said no and all these things we are more than conquerors through him that love I have I have an over comers conquerors attitude and then he said in 2nd Corinthians 4:17 for our light affliction yeah which is but for a moment works a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory George you are more than a I am more than a conquerer I receive that you are more than a conquerer you are more than a talk that's right that's right I believe the word quickly here they stay cool calm and steady now that scriptural second Timothy four five in the amplified as for you be cool be calm cool and steady accept and suffer unflinchingly every hardship do the working of it and don't quit and fully perform the duties of your ministry I like this in Proverbs 1727 he who restrains his words has knowledge and he who has a cool spirit is a man of under no we don't know we don't fix a person with a strong spirit does not give up and quit that's right Galatians 6:9 let us not lose heart and and lose heart grow weary in faith and acting nobly and doing right for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faith we don't quit we don't quit how long we don't quit I like this behaviour 1032 in the NIV remember those earlier days after you've received the light when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering we did that when we had the six million dollar deficit we stood our gun and we are stronger we are stronger and finally a person who is strong in their spirit show me a person who has a strong spirit and I'll show you someone who is full of joy and full of the peace of God joy and peace as brother Keith has taught us our indicators they're there they are there gauges that's good but your joy gaze and your peace peace gauge of a strong spirit Nehemiah 8:10 the joy of the Lord is your strength yeah so that's one way to develop a strong spirit is just to be joyful in that to rejoice and the Lord always and again I say rejoice and then finally peace Philippians 4:6 and seven be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus for care the moment you begin to see that you're under pressure Europe you know the care of the situation that's it yeah right getting till you run to the Word of God under the world have scriptures ready that's right and go over the writers and take those scriptures to say I don't have a care I roll all my care of God head chef and kitchen supervisor while Jen works as a producer in the television Department just before the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary they learned that they were expecting their first child at nine weeks I was at work and brother Copeland was walked into my building which is the studio and I was able to tell him that we were expecting our first baby and he looked at me and he prophesied over me and he said perfect pregnancy perfect delivery perfect baby and walked away and at nine weeks I was like okay yeah I can agree with that I had no idea I would need those words later on they told us at 20 weeks that there was a possibility of some complications he was measuring small he was measuring at 18 weeks and I was 20 weeks and they immediately wanted us to do a bunch of tests blood work they wanted to test for Down syndrome there was a couple few other tests that they wanted they said that there could also have been an issue with the blood flow between me the placenta in and Austin they wanted to do a special sonogram it's a choice that you have to make that you are going to stand for the life of your child regardless of the doctors and what they say regardless of how you feel that day you have to make a choice every single day and for a while it was every single minute that you're not going to accept the natural what they're saying the physical saying that you know this could happen this could happen brother Copeland was in here taping one day and through a mutual friend found out that we were dealing with some pretty serious stuff with the pregnancy so I came over and I told him about that they were concerned about the blood flow from the placenta to the baby and he prayed over me we went to our sonogram appointment the next day and they said you know there's nothing wrong with the blood flow you're fine that that part's fine your baby is still small but the placenta is fine so that was that was a hurdle that we crossed and we were like yes over the next eight weeks tests confirmed that the baby was growing and developing rapidly finally even the specialist declared that the baby was indeed perfect at 38 weeks Austin David Adams was born weighing a very healthy 8 pounds and 3 ounces David and Jennifer were thrilled to finally meet their new son however within a short time both Jen and baby Austin would be fighting for their lives Jennifer began to bleed out while Austin was having trouble breathing on his own the baby was placed on oxygen and medication as Jen was treated and slowly stabilized these new parents stood on the prophecy that Kenneth had given for the year that proclaimed victory over death and I couldn't go in right away to see him because I had to get him all hooked up to these machines and everything and once that got to go in and see him the first thing I did was laid my hand as I could hold it and it's told him that it was he was gonna be okay I prayed I just prayed over him and told him that he was whole they said there would be a minimum I'm him being on the breathing machines for two weeks don't expect your baby to come out of the NICU for at least two weeks his lungs are very underdeveloped and on Monday one week after he was born we were released from the hospital with a clean bill of health he was completely fine he passed all the tests that they gave him and they said your baby is fine go home Austin is six and a half months he brings the word bouncing baby boy to a whole new level he bounces from the time he gets up in the morning to literally at the time he goes to bed at night because we bounced him to put him to sleep he's starting to curl he's eating solid food he's a joy to everybody he meets he's the joy of our lives literally brings joy to our lives every day [Music] Jen and David stood on the Word of God no matter what the circumstances were they stood on the word they kept their hearts fixed on God's promises for them they took it for themselves they didn't quit or give up they stayed in place and they stayed in peace and the end result was just as brother Copeland you know that guy married to had spoken over them he gave him a word and they stood on it perfect present perfect pregnancy perfect delivery perfect praise God praise God awesome and they took it they took it Gloria they took it today is offering day and pastor George is going to receive the offering for us well first of all what I wanted to say about the offering we wanted to thank all of our partners and friends your faithfulness in sowing into this ministry for all of these years and for the work that you helped us to do we are so grateful and we're believing with you right now for the hundredfold return in your giving you know the Lord
