Defiant Faith: Wisdom For The Fight Pt. 2 | Pastor Hart Ramsey, Sr.

[Music] so what I want to do is I want I want to start this in just gold there's a lot of scriptural evidence and scriptural reinforcement I'm gonna give you today but understand that whenever you set out to live by faith you are going to have to defy the norm or the odds this is important because I was I was studying this issue about language about language and and I was listening to watching television the other day and distracted have you ever been watching television but doing something else so I'm watching television I'm doing something else and the person speaking was very articulate but they made a statement that was off they used the wrong word to describe something and it caught my attention I looked up for my phone my phone I went that's not right and the Spirit of God spoke to me and says isn't it isn't it awesome to live in a culture where you could hear something and immediately go that's not that's off and and he says such is the language everyone say the word language language is it's not just the words we speak or or the community language or community or dialogue that we hold in common but languages it's actually a culture when when I lived in Germany when I lived in Germany I spoke English and a little bit of German and many times I'd be in a situation where the Germans will be having full-blown conversations I don't know what they're talking about it it wasn't just the talking they would they would see something and they were all laugh and I didn't get it because language is more than just words we speak languages actually the culture we live in we don't just speak English we live in an English culture we are we understand things in English and for those of you that don't speak a second language um probably all you know is English stuff whereas a person who is bilingual they could get it quote-unquote get it in English they could get it in Spanish or whatever the second language is and they could actually float between cultures because they have a broader language base you got it so we understand this statement we live in an English culture everything about us is English and when you go overseas I just I just did a wedding in Mexico and and it's just when you walk into the Spanish culture it's just a different vibe for my English vibe well the Bible says in four places and look of Habakkuk in the book of Romans in the book of Galatians the book of Hebrews it says the just shall live by faith faith is not just the language we speak is the is the actual culture we live in you meet you need to understand about faith everything about the Christian life is our faith there's nothing that you will ever engage God in that's not based on faith and when we talk about faith what we're talking about is your other set of eyes your other line of sight in other words God says everything I want to do in your life is gonna be based on things you can't see in the natural but they exist in another dimension not 90 percent 100 percent of God's dealings in your life begins with things you can't physically see and this is important because um that's not the way we've been teaching you the way we've talked faith from the pulpit to the Pew is we've been teaching you that when you need something you turn your faith on we teach you that you target your faith you point your faith and we treat faith like a go like a gun in a holster that we snatch out when we need to shoot not understanding that faith is an actual lifestyle you got it you don't start to have faith when the doctor says there's nothing we could do you don't begin to have faith when you need the promotion you don't start have faith in your child it's contrary no you don't start building an ark in the rain you start building the ark before the rain comes your entire life is about faith so that when you run upon something that in the natural seems against you it's listen it's a part of your lifestyle your internal culture it's a part of you that just go against and say no that's not what the Bible says you'll be able to detect things that are contradictory to the Word of God as attractive as they may be as all-encompassing as they may be as powerful as they may be you could be able to look at a giant and said that giant has one thing one thing that's against him and that is not he is not a circumcised member of gods family when David saw a girl like that you are all Goliath glory what David saw is a person that didn't have God his face faith zeroed in on the fact that he can't beat me in this because I have garden he doesn't you're the problem with most of us the problem most of us is that we look at life and we measure everything by natural sight and God says you're another set of eyes that you've yet to user so you can't see the things that already working for you or you and in your favor I want to begin at this place with this conversation that Paul has with his spiritual son Timothy he says but you Timothy are a man of God give me King James because I like there's some things that King James translation said that speaks to us clearer than this King James Version says but Thou O man of God flee these things and follow after righteousness godliness faith love patience meekness hold there this is what I want to point out to you notice as he begins probably gets to talk to Timothy about the faith fight he says to them he's the old man of God he says I need you to number one flees these things specifically if you read the verses before that he was speaking to how people interact with riches he was telling them he said be careful how you engage yourself when it comes to money he said money and things that make money I'll tend to pull you down into the natural realm and have you dealing it with economics so you should be dealing with spiritual oversight he said a lot of problems that are in your life right now money may solve them but money can't keep them solved so he says as we said she said be careful not to catch yourself following after the things you should be fleeing from and fleeing from the things you should be following it every every faith fight that you're gonna live at my faith there are some things you should be fleeing and some things you should be following be careful of this this is critical he starts out talking about this faith fight but I my fleeing and following the word follow means to pursue you go hard after it there's some things you don't let up when it comes to righteousness what is righteousness he said follow after a right relationship with God from this perspective that God gives you his righteousness not you being righteous in that you keep doing the right things we can talk about that later on but he's so much the righteousness that you get from God as a gift he said father after that he said father after godliness what is that what does it mean to be godly it me the people should identify you say you know that is a man of God that is a woman of God why because of the things I refuse to choose you got it some things I just want engaged in why because cuz cuz God it's not me so much is that I don't want comfort with that because I'm a relationship with God he says pursue faith the ability to see beyond what you can see pursue developing in this thing he said pursue patience the ability to wait there are three different brands of patience in Scripture there's the best a brand that waits it's there's a brand that that are indoors and there's a brand that just puts up with people who for may know who buy Monet and microfilm you're three different brands of patience he said he said pursue patience and then he said pursue humility don't know if you got if you got to sing your own song and tell your own story then maybe God is not endorsing you after all if you gotta keep putting yourself up then maybe God is not in your corner so he says I want you to pursue these things and but the previous thing is I want you to run from the ever I shall run from them if you're if you're living a life of faith there's some things right now that you are running from and you're running from them because Satan has set them in your life for your demise he knows where you're weak he knows what you're lacking he knows where you're vulnerable and so you should make a habit every day of your life you won't you wake up today what am i running from what am i running to every day of your life and this is where the it begins in verse 12 he says I'll read this out loud what does he say fight the good okay now that's not loud but I need loud here we go fight the good fight of faith lay hold on eternal life whereunto thou art also called and has professed a good profession he said fight the good fight of faith and that's what I want to begin if you're going to live and define faith you've got to learn how to fight some of you have never been in a fight in your life you've never been punched and something about being punched in the face that can reveal your character I've met people who talk a good game major up on me I'm sorry Nick Nick Nick you know when I was younger when I was when I was in school I had a thing when a person say were you gonna do that's the wrong question to ask me and if the first time if I shove you cuz I didn't play with bullies that wasn't the fight above your bully and if I shoved you and you didn't come at me in a rage you were done hit me again hit me again I don't hit you already but when I hit you again if I was gonna be all that some of you've never been a fight so the first time the enemy comes at you and does something you can feel you give in totally to whatever he wants if you're gonna be living in define fit one of the definitions of the fight defiant means to be refused to make an agreement with to refuse to settle for and here's the reality if you're not settling you're struggling a struggle is very critical to becoming who you are God left you in a struggle for a reason every person in this room has something in your life to struggling with that God could have immediately taken from you but chose not to and here's why it's in the struggle that you learn strength is in the struggle' you learn to fight if you don't struggle you have to settle even when you're settling it then you become it I prefer to go to war with a person with a struggle with an internal deficit than to go with someone who thinks they have it all that we're together because the reality is if you're struggling that mean if you're struggling are you surviving that means you're stronger than you think I was in a conversation with with a person yesterday who has been in a national scandal for several months and before the scandal started this person is a friend of mine before the scandal started this was was um was very very articulate it was very armed armstrong spiritually but but how does a superficial miss to me in some areas what weren't really ready for that kind of warfare but when I talked to them yesterday they seemed so settled so calm so secure so sure and the person said I don't know if I could take any more of this I just don't see that the good is doing and my response to them was this my spouse name was this you should hear what I'm hearing on the other end of the phone he said what do you mean I said you sound like a different person he had been in the fight for so long and he didn't even realize the battle was shaping him the battle was changing him it was anchoring him down he was routed something about his voice something about this worse he seemed sure about God he seemed clear about everything he was saying nothing was up in the air the very struggle against what he was going through the desire to just stay in the game although people accounted him out the fact that he that he was kind of uncovered in a certain area but he didn't he didn't give in he just just kind of held on to God it was changing him your struggle your defiance against what Satan is doing in your life what he's trying to do is changing you you can't see it but other people can this is what you need to know when you make the decision to walk in define faith you must be ready to fight there will be demonically orchestrated resistance against you so you must know how faith functions and what your role is in the fight here's the reality every every time you release your faith your faith are gonna be tested now I wanna I want to advise you to go on on on go to YouTube just search Hart Ramsey and look at the message of preachers safe harbor this morning because I don't feel move to preach that message right now I want to preach part two of the message of preach this morning and it's a simple premise every time you release faith you're operating in the grace of God here's something you need to know put Romans chapter four Romans chapter 4 believe verse 13 on the screen Romans chapter 4 verse 13 what you need to understand is all the promises of God are received by grace through faith I'm not gonna do the detailed version of this and do a quick version of this listen to me all the promises of God are received by grace and they received with patience okay and what that means is none of what you believe God for is connected to what you do initially you get it hold there go to Hebrews chapter 6 verse 11 let me start there first Hebrews chapter 6 verse 11 I want to begin their parts that the writer says our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts go back to King James in this I want to give King James just for some definition real quickly he's and we decided every one of you to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end look at verse 12 that's what it says that you'd be not slothful but followers of them who through what through faith and patience do it so what we learn immediately from this verse is that promises are from God are inherited by faith and patience now give me new living translation go back to verse 11 we go there's a lot of Scripture I'm going to give you in the power of what I'm gonna teach you today come from the scriptures our great desires that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts in order that you make to make certain that what you hope for will come true that's what he said he says your love life in other words on the way I deal with people has a lot to do with my hope coming true now remember we said that hope for living is different from wishful thinking which means now we said when I wished for something I'm saying it'll be nice if for example it'd be nice if I had a promotion it'd be nice if my family arm had better income it'd be nice if I wasn't bound to whatever it'd be nice that's wishful thinking but hopeful living is me going to the scriptures seeing in the Word of God where God promises something better and from there I decide that what I see in the word belongs to me it creates hope in me Korea's a desire to receive what God promised that is hopeful living and but the Bible says everything hope for may not come true and what is the determining factor here's what it says it says my great our great desire for you that you keep on loving one of those another as long as life live in order to make certain in order to make certain that the things I hope for come true is it perspective descriptive it says faith worketh by love say that out loud faith the one of the first air is the enemy attacks and I said this to you a couple weeks ago that the enemy disproportionately attacks your hope because he understands that once you can see a picture of Hope in your heart then there's not much to stop it from coming to pass so he will attack your hope he needs you hopeless he needs Hope deferred he needs your heart sick but the second area he would deploy his resources as to what you love whenever you step out and say I'm gonna believe God I'm gonna do this God's Way the first thing he attacks is your relationships he goes after your love he goes after your connection with people he wants you fighting he wants you resentful he wants you hateful he wants you complaining we are so guilty of this we will be in a relationship with someone the person will say something or do something we don't like but we never tell them we go find other people to tell them we will go back home and live in a situation or go back to work and be in a situation where people are legitimate him and you doing things to us but we won't tell him about it so when the first thing that has to if you're gonna walk by faith you're gonna live my faith and define faith we got to up your conflict resolution game you have got to learn to confront issues in faith I'm not saying be mad but I'm saying set boundaries are you gonna talk to me you got to be able to listen you baby tell you hover you listen you cannot talk to me like that I didn't sign on for that husband's you got to tell your wife you can't boy me down like this you can't treat me like a child and tell me be the man you got to establish relationship boundaries so that was just now is within the confines of those boundaries we can live a love life I cannot allow the enemy to trick me watch us now enter being armed fretful and results and hurt all the time so much so I go to other people's spewing telling them about how I'm hurt but going back home and submitting to it a lot of us right now are in situations where we gave people permission to treat us bad and we complained to everybody else about it and then when I would try to live by faith that it doesn't work if what you hope for is gonna come true you got to work on your love life the Bible says here in verse go to verse 12 it says then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent to the Spirit when I become spiritually dog I'm not sharp spiritually I can't see clearly my acuity is off everything there's no focus to my spiritual life I can walk headlong into danger and there's nothing no alarm in me that goes off because I'm dull spiritually dull another thing also is becoming different the word indifference means I don't care we get to the place where we treat writer or target of faith a certain thing and it doesn't work so when something happens we don't need to try anymore so right now the enemy is doing in your life what he wants to do because you've become indifferent why because of verse 11 your love was attack it caused your hope to be challenged faith needs hope to bring things to pass and so here you are in a situation where nothing is working for you you dull spiritually and you don't care but here's what the Bible says it says instead you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God's promises and here's where they gonna hear it's God's promises because what because of their work and what he said two things are critical to your faith your faith working he says to inherit the promises of God I need faith there's nothing that God has promised you that does not come into your life through faith your ability to see with your other set of eyes your ability to see what's missing and realize that it's in the Lord that he hasn't for you and number two is indoors give me the passion translation I want to show you the very broad and great definition of some words it says so don't allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm it says but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith in their what and their patient endurance to things strong faith he said your ability to trust God and your ability to wait on God your ability to trust God and your ability to when you don't wait on God you always end up with substitutes when you don't wait on God let me tell you something you always end up trying to do for yourself and I'm Taylor dangerous thing one of the worst thing that can happen to you is you succeed in something that God didn't call you to do I'll succeed what does that all get something that God never told you to get because the reality is if it took your strength to get it it's gonna take your strength to keep it and really really imma take this right now whatever God gives you he maintains whatever God builds he sustains you got it now good now back to go back to the Romans chapter four everybody said we talked about promises I need to be a little bit more enthusiastic I know you're hungry from fasting but I need you to be a little oh say we talked say we talked my promises now wait a minute me ask a question so I said we fasting I look at that you don't so you look awfully fair to be fasting it's one meal a day okay my clothes when you feed are you look at this real quickly clearly God's promised to give Abraham or taught to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants watch this now was not based on obedience to it on his obedience to God's law but on the right relationship with God that comes by faith flip the King James I want to show you but the way says it he said for the promise that he should be heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law everybody said through the law now that what he's speaking about is a system of rule now everybody look at me this is so important to faith understanding faith the problem with you and me is that if we don't understand this concept that faith cannot connect to law faith cannot connect to root keeping there's no place to plug it in there's there's no place faith and law don't identify one another under the law the system was our behavior for blessing if I did the right things God owed it to me and if God order to me it's not a gift it's pay you got it so with the enemy does to you as he keeps telling you for example you believe in God for something he says are you oh you can't get it because you haven't blanked not realizing that God never wanted that kind of relationship with you he would not have went through the trouble of sending Jesus you got it if he won a law based system so the Bible says here the promise to Abraham that he would be the a of the world was not to him in a seat through the law but through the righteousness of what faith it's now good look at the next verse he said this in verse 14 he said for if they which are of the law be heirs faith has made what void and the promise made of what give me New Living Translation you got to see this here's how it reads it says this and new to the translation he says if God's promise is only for those who obey the law that means that everybody look at me that the law is that it's the Ten Commandments and all and the other on 513 is actually 613 altogether he said if your whole thing with God is I keep the rules faith won't work for you and here's why there's no place to plug it in if God's promises only for those who obey the law then faith is not what faith is not what he said faith is not necessary if you are living the cont if your whole thing is well I'd do the right thing and I didn't work out for me and God no I'm doing a record so I should have been blessed if that's your mentality that's then you're not operating my faith you're operating on the system that tells God I'm gonna do the right thing then you got to bless me that's not the person God is looking for I tithe and so I should be blessed the winners of heaven should be open because I tithe and God is like I can't do it for you with that mentality look at the person God is looking for the person who says God I don't know what I'm gonna do I don't have enough money and you asking me to give to you ten percent I can't afford ten percent and God says to you trust me watch this you went this whole time give it a little bit here give a little bit that God said I need you to trust me he said I can't I don't know how to and God keeps walking with he keeps walking we think he's walking with you and he gets a surface and guys I need you to be a real watch this the whole time you're not keeping the law you over here walking with God it's called grace you're walking with him and he undeservedly keeps walking with you he said I need you to be able to do this your future depends on it so he takes a little guy he takes a little guy and he begins to walk with me he says I need you to take a chance on me and I keep saying but I can't I'm afraid of God I know you're afraid but if you trust me I won't be your refuge translation I will be your safe place I will be I'll be yours o fight for you I will be your God and I what does that mean what does being a God mean I don't know I never God before he said you could relate to God you remember every morning you gotta be smoked that joint because you needed that joint to get through the day that joint was your god hard revelation that means the thing I depend on God said that's me he's walking with me honest I'm I'm giving him a little bit I'm doing a little but I can't do all he tells me to do why I can't keep the law I qualify to keep the law so I'm over here and I'm walking with God and I'm like one day I get a revelation I come home there's a note on my door and it says you're behind you haven't paid you let you see that happened and I was short why because I was robbing God and he said you need to put as much under the Lord is like is it this is your chance I was going to tie there he says this is your choice and he says if you keep doing the same thing listen to this if you keep doing the same things all you'll get is the same outcome he said but what a golden opportunity to trust me so I decided we give him the tie let's go him and that night we were sitting in the door I expected God to do a miracle and even though they cut the power I stay on that's not what he did when they cut the power lights went off I decided I'm a paper type but the next day when I called them I told her lady I said and I told exactly the RO said I didn't pay the electricity because I had another obligation I had to take care of I owed some money to someone very powerful and I had to give him the money but I promise you that I will come in and she said you know what it's okay she cut my power back on before I put the money in her hand and when that happened to me in 1980 in 1994 it was the last time I ever struggle with tithing because here's what happened when walking with God the promise of that God gave me I realized it was more to it than just doing the right thing God wasn't just trying to get me to pay tithe God wanted me to know him let me show you something if God's promises only through the only to those were available then faith is not necessary and the promise is what it's pointless why would God make a promise to you if the system is real keeping if the system is if you do the right thing you you work I pay if that was a system but that's not the system the system God says what I want from you is you take my promise and you you put the promise before your eyes and no matter who you are in the moment no matter what you'll be coming he says I will walk you through the process and I won't be blessing you even though your behavior doesn't get line up how many you see this tell me confused by this anybody you saw why you know what I I'm sorry pastor holiness a hell you can't even define holiness most of the people who say holding us to hell thinks holiness is a dress code they think holiness is being better than other people did you don't even you think wholeness is you keeping rules and checking boxes darting eyes and crossing T's and that's not what holiness is ho this is a transformation that happens on the inside because of the one that you have in you okay now there's so much I wish I could talk to you about but I got to get down to this fast so look at verse look at verse 15 the Bible says for the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it everybody understand this so when we start talking about faith the reason this is important to establish with the issue about the law is because most believers and by show of hands tell me how many of you went when you and you feel like you're not doing your best for God sometimes have a problem praying or reading your Bible you have a problem three look around if I'm praying sometimes I mean you feel that some that God is disappointed with you that feeling tells me that you serve God by law and there's another category of people who serve God by law that when you talk to God you never talk to him about your struggle he never talked them about your failures never talk to him about your vulnerability or your pain and let me tell you what I found what we quick to do is label people based on the performance of their behavior God doesn't do that let me explain something to you when God when Adam sinned but Adam sinned he did not Adam did not decide that you know what Eve you know we've been living for God on all this time I'm gonna go spend a weekend out on the town I'm just gonna live it up this weekend he didn't go out on a Friday night and come back on a Sunday and go you know I really messed up I don't know no he committed one sin and we committed that one sin one sin triggered his judgment in his life so here's the problem with the law if you keep 9/10 of the law for nine-tenths of your life and sin once your whole life was a waste this is not about law it's about a relationship a relationship with Jesus but God through Jesus Christ it's about it's about you trusting what God says about you and if you trust him here's the thing you got to bring not just your strength but your weaknesses to him how many of you here got a smart mouth you have a smart mouth what does the last time you talked to God about your smart mouth how many accustomed you cuss a little bit cause a little bit wait hold on I know when I said cuss a little bit of time I'm not telling you cause every other word I mean about you you say I cuss a little bit cause a little bit yeah okay how many were the last time you talked to God about your cussing a little bit now don't respond to this one this one is illegal how many of you smoke weed still doors respond how many of you went to God and say you know what I got this little weed problem because here's the thing everybody look at me I need to get this God does not just want the religious you he doesn't just he does not just want the you that you think is good that proves that you're living on the legalistic system he wants to talk about everything in you that's broken everything that you that's needed because his regard knew your your flaw is inherited the Florida's in you was inherited you got it from your parents when got when Adam sinned God got Warner family animals the beginning but when Adam sinned everything was contaminated so God understand that through DNA watches now if he were to send you to the earth with purpose that your purpose what will come up against something in you that wants to rebel against him and it didn't come from you it came from the people who were before you ancestors because there's no way for him to make new people without giving them being being given birth to by someone else whose blood is contaminated the DNA passed along not just a function by the dysfunction and you have to and God understands that so when you come to him in faith watch us now I bring all of me to him he knows the good he knows the bad but the person is not the promise is not just for people who could keep rules there was no need for promise if you could keep the rules God said I promise you I'm gonna be God to you all you have to do is just come to me and be in relationship with me you got it so now I want to give you this there's there's so much to break down in this lesson but what we can't stay here long I want to show you this real quickly before we go today your faith is going to be tested and what it means is every time you say I'm gonna believe God for this of that you're gonna trigger an attack on your life how many you believe that so something through your life is under attack right now here's why he left his own attack because the word always triggers or an attack from the enemy I want to begin here um go to mark let's see what I want to go I'm trying to cut a lot of stuff out of this go choose no no yeah go to mark chapter 4 verse 16 let me go here mark chapter 4 verse 16 mark chapter 4 and verse 16 he made there you go now I want to show you this the Bible says that the seed on rocky saw represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with what now be careful when you hear the word coming forth you you always rejoicing always talking back say that a man should be careful of that because when you receive the word with joy normally what happens is you're not really paying attention to the gravity of what you're receiving the next verse says they receive it with joy but since they don't have deep roots they don't last long they fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for what problems and persecution come into the believers life when you receive God's word in other words when you set your heart to live by faith it attracts problems of persecution as a matter of fact I'm go to James chapter 1 and verse 2 give me the passion translation I got to do this real fast James chapter 1 and verse 2 the passionate translation it's important to understand so what is the the process is this I'm preaching to you you're handing the Word of God whatever registers to you and you hold on to it immediately when you say you know what I'm gonna make this adjustment attack is gonna come the moment you decide to take your money and say Lord I'm gonna give you your part of it attack is gonna come but don't expect the blessing immediately nothing you do in faith brings immediate blessing what did I just say you remember you do you remember what this first clip you read it says this it says through faith and patience are two endurance I'm gonna receive the promise so I set my heart to receive the promise acting faith in his artworks faith is released by the words of my mouth and the works of my hands you got it faith Israel is released by what I say and what I do this is my words and my actions here's the problem words are easy but actions are necessary because if I don't the James said the Apostle James says faith without works is worth it's the lifeless corpse that appears to be alive but has no no way to express itself in other words you look at you cannot you can think you have faith but if you don't do something with the faith if you don't take the risk with the faith your faith can't produce anything now listen to what about to tell you if you are a believer in Christ every single problem in your life right now is there because of your faith it's a fastener you do understand I did something wrong no no the only you can be tested in three areas okay number one persecution the enemy is going to attack you in the area of persecution people gonna come at you leaders are gonna dislike you you got it if your leader follows will like this like you will you operate in faith you go somewhere and someone won't like you is persecution the word means to pursue the good it's like the same spirit is pursuing you through different people the second experience of testing is through suffering suffering the worst suffering speaks to an external experience that puts pressure on you depresses you from the outside you want to suffer in your desires you're gonna suffer in your priety you'll suffer in your flesh there's no way you could come through suffering or our faith test without suffering some kind of way you're gonna suffer the enemy will attack you just to stop you but you have to keep going through that the third way and probably the most significant way the Satan attacks your faith is through temptation to sin he gives you a low-level way of escape he tells you if you do this thing right here you be free that's especially for those of you who I want your own explaining to you many of their many people right now who you bound in sin not because you love sin but the sin itself to you is a way of escape you hurt so bad that you the pain is appreciating that you found one thing that you could do that stops the painting for a minute so you use that behavior as medication get quite a few ones that stick and see you you're still here I see you and so what you're doing you're using the sex to cover up the fact that you hurt you're living at the bottom of a bottle because when you drink you get to forget you're still smoking weed because you can get high and and just drift away and be numb from of season but when people see they call your crack in what do you see you to call your drum they're calling you a they call you whatever they don't realize all you're doing is medicating and some of you come and use medicate using Church you know bit more love Jesus but when you come to church your pain stops a little and so you come you go do your little dance knee let's shout but you ain't plan to live none of it you just want to experience I just messed you up and so you find yourself always having to come back come back to the same thing why is it that we live in a world always needs encouragement you are it's like I sent out for eight years at least one or two uh plus a day and to this day that people write me say hey well after the daily text I missed the daily text messages when I still happen by the way but the thing is my question to you is why do you still need that much encouragement all the time you at the place after eight years you should be encouraging people just as you're up in the usin into people but the problem is most people don't listen their entire world is built on the premise versus now that whatever I engage myself in it has to be something that medicates my pain pain becomes a center of your life so I want you to pay attention to them to the way I love this translation because it's so close to the Greek I want to show you something he says my fellow believers when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties here's what he says see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can stop here's what he said whenever you seems like all you come up against is difficulty does this sound like your life like everything is hard like nothing you do could get the results you want then he's speaking to you husband said in verse three he says for you know that when your faith is being tested it stirs a power within you to do all things so here's what he said he's taken for granted that if you're facing nothing but difficulties it must mean your faith is being tested when you're going through hardship it must mean that you're on the test it must mean that you believe something that God said and the enemy's trying to beat it out of you it must mean that you may be getting close to something that the enemy thinks will undo all the investment he did in your life it must mean that something is on the inside of you that he got to get out of you quickly because if he doesn't get get out of you you may become a problem for his plan has been he says if he said he says you know go back to verse to get verse 2 real quickly in verse 3 he says this he says my fellow believers when it seems as though you're facing nothing but difficulties you have to see this as an invaluable opportunity then in verse 3 he says for you know that when your faith is tested it can only be a faithless being tested he said when your faith is tested where the enemy doesn't know is every time he pressures you because of what you believe something on the inside of you because of store was just when you believe the Word of God remember now the promise of God received through faith and patience of faith and endurance but the endurance doesn't get stirred up in you until you get in a fight the enemy doesn't know it in as much as we read this he will read it he didn't understand what God is saying he says as much as you know he says when your faith is tested when you up against a fight it stirs up power everybody said power power was in you to do all things love Lisa I just don't know I can handle that yes you can just need to be tested a little it stirs up some I can't high enough ok handle folks like that when you say those words God say oh we just need to test your little I can't go through that doesn't always you you can just leave you tested a little I remember waiting on God for the answers from the bank you put him for long and some property with some vision we trying to do and I can sleep and the Lord started to like I was like why did you go to sleep I stuck and I just I just I knew what they were thinking it's the Lord was like what difference does it make what they're thinking versus he said you don't even understand what you're doing you're not doing this for you I told you to do this watches and so I went from beat laying awake to pray conversation with God and the Lord's thing was this he says as long as I want you to have the money there's nothing they could do woke up the next morning got the car dr. Ramsey when we're not be able to help you and here's why here's why so I got off the phone and some more I thought you said it would give me the money God said I didn't say they gonna give you the says and as then as you endure as grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there's nothing missing and nothing what the purpose of the test versus now is it's a stir up endurance and when indoors goes to work God holds you in the storm he holds you in the storm and he teaches you to see him and to dialogue with him in the storm and some things are coming at you from the outside but in the inside God is what is what he's doing God says you I need you to calm down you say but it's sterling doesn't look at me keep your eyes on me you go back to the doctor it really ever said the word releases it releases perfection maturity is the Greek word Telos tell us full maturity he said every part of you that's weak and lacking he says is the Lord he used the test of your faith to distract you from the distraction that Satan released against you he says it really it will release perfection into every part of your life until there's nothing missing and nothing lacking look at verse 5 says verse 5 says and if anyone longs to be wise the King James says if any man lacks wisdom has what it is when you're going the biggest problem most people when you're going to a faith test is that you don't know what to do by show of hands don't know what to do so you thought you're good your tax money was coming back you get a letter saying you owe some money and you had your heart set on that money what am I going to do don't know and most time you know we do the first thing we do is if we have a circle or circuit of complaint complainers we go to my complaining buddies and we start complaining disband that bunch or we get mad at God and say God disappoint us and we stop coming to church but what about this what about when the letter comes and says we're sorry we're gonna take the whole tax money instead of getting mad what about you go back to God and say God I need this money tell me what you need me to do that's what was the myth if you want to be wise in the situation in the fight is it ask God for wisdom and he will what not now listen said ask God for wisdom and he will work not that he'll think about it not even receive you're qualified if you ask him for wisdom he will give it to you I got two minutes left he says he won't see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will he will overwhelm your failures with his sinners worse what with his generous word now look at the next verse it says this real quickly is to just make sure you axed empowered by confident faith without doubting he said when you asked God go to God known I'm gonna ask him God show me what to do be sure be sure he's gonna tell you what to do everybody said when I go to God for wisdom he never turns me down look at this real quickly he says this it says now I wanted to get to this part it says for the em bit let me go back to the top just make sure you act empowered by confident faith without doubting that you were received for the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next verse the next verse says this being verse 7 being it says when you just said when you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you what now go to verse 6 I want to point some words out real quickly this out I'm gonna end with this they were ambivalent I need you good in that a big word what do you do when you find a big word you look it up so so you know I have you know you know I'm gonna learn it learn it man but that's still the word ambivalent I use it all the time I said what does it really mean so I don't I just go to dictionary I like to go back to the old it's the melodical dictionaries to find out where the word from the what NBD as an ambidextrous means both hands right so mb means both the word valent sounds like valent Valiant check this out the word ambivalent means equal strength it was an equal strength the Bible says that there's a condition you could find yourself in where you're ambivalent and that ambivalence makes you go to verse 7 makes you unstable go to verse 7 I want to show in that word come on keep up with me makes you unstable and I made a note of this because I blew my mind the world of still means restless and disengaged listen to it listen to what I want to leave you with this so what does it mean to be ambivalent in faith the Bible says that you when you are in bivolo in your faith it makes you disengage and restless and unstable and God's hands are tied let me tell you what it means you want the thing over here as much as you want the thing over here as faith goes here's what the Lord says you can't want to be single and want to be married equally and get God to move on your behalf so God will not even answer you I want a husband because God knows tomorrow I'm glad I'm not married God knows he hears you you can't say I want a baby I want to go through labor you can't receive from God you know why because the one is a part of the other you guess I want the car or what the house rather I don't want I want to note that's cool as long as not one the note is a way for you to shirk your responsibilities concern the house cause you gotta maintain it some way ambivalence speaks to the fact that you have two powers working in you and then working against one another and then holding you in the middle way you're disengaged fully from anything and God says I can't move for you that I don't know what you want [Music] because if you say you want but just saying you if you see if you want really want what you say you want then I'm gonna push you through some things and it's gonna be hard when you cut it on the other side you'd be a whole different person but you gotta work you can't give up in the middle of it your ambivalence gets in god's way the strength it's come from both places in other words God says the enemy is working you is as strong as my working you so I can't do anything for you it's when you come to me make sure that what you want from me is really what you want from me because I'm gonna do everything in my power including make you extremely uncomfortable to bring it to pass what promise from God are you standing on what do you want from God think about this the sixth I want to be healed and the Lord says if I become your healer then you have to come to me and you have to partake of me daily like you take medicine you have to take you get the Holy Communion and you come before me every day you partake as often take it every day twice a day three times a day and you get the Holy Communion like it's your medicine right because it represents the body of blood of Jesus and you keep your eyes on me he said let the doctors worry about your charts let the doctors worry about the other body are your x-rays and whatever as they looking at you say you keep looking at me the moment you become watch is now ambivalent as it relates to what the doctors saying what God's Word says Gossett didn't I could do I need you to give me full authority in your life did you speak to where you are it's God talking to you about what's coming what's here here's what I want to do I want you lift your hands to the Lord the same God that we worshipped before the word came there's a couple of things that I want you to say to him number one say this say Who I am is not all good you see me all of me I give all of me to you part of me for use and part of me for development I need you in every area of my life I've chosen to walk by faith to live my life trusting you believing your word looking to the finished work of Jesus as my benefit package the words that I speak today let them govern the rest of this year and the rest of my life there are things in me that are broken that must be healed there are things in me there are out of bounds that need boundaries there are things in me that are excited that needs you to get a hold of them I trust you with my faith life in Jesus name now you ready first say out loud say I refuse to settle listen listen I refuse to give in I refuse to go solely by what I see I trust you to make good on every promise because you are God because you're God because you're God Father in the name of Jesus I pray over your people and so this time of fasting and prayer was for the purpose of clearing our eyes and our ears soft in our hearts before you no doubt every person that joined us on this journey in some way was faced with something that was a great temptation a great struggle maybe a heartbreak but during this time he showed us things about you and about yourself we have another week left finish what you started in us but prepare us armor us strengthen us for the journey for the rest of this year walk with us God as we walk with you and let your grace be multiplied to every person on the side of my voice cause us to know you in ways we haven't known you before and give our faith God the wings that it needs for the desires of our hearts to be met we trust everybody I trust you in Jesus name hallelujah hallelujah bless today [Music]
