hey what's up guys and welcome to the video today's vehicle is an absolutely filthy 2014 two-door honda civic that's going to be super satisfying to get cleaned up okay so taking a look around the exterior of this civic and it's clear this car has been a victim of the wet and mucky roads we had over the last month as it's absolutely covered in dirt from front to back there's honestly more dirt than there is paint showing and looking at the wheels well believe it or not but there's some nice shiny rims hiding underneath all that dirt and then of course the carpeted liners are stuffed full of dirt and moving inside now and a good amount of that dirt has been tracked inside too as the floor mats are pretty dirty then there's some dirty cup holders and other grimy areas to deal with in here as well but just before we jump into the video take a quick second and subscribe to the channel so you don't miss out on any future videos like this i post a new video every week so make sure you've got the bell on so you get notified when they go live all right guys well i'm definitely looking forward to pressure washing this car and getting all that dirt blasted off so as always sit back relax and enjoy the [Music] transformation okay so as i get started here i have to say that this is definitely one of my favorite parts about detailing is getting to use my pressure washer and blast the dirt off a vehicle mostly because it makes such a huge difference and the vehicles look instantly clean unless of course the vehicle has carpeted wheel well liners man it's not quite as much fun [Music] [Music] now like i mentioned in the opening this car has carpeted wheel well liners which is a bit of a pain to deal with as they are capable of holding onto a massive amount of dirt and as you guys can see these ones are making a nice river of mud on my garage floor so i personally prefer vehicles with plastic liners as they're much easier to clean and they hold up better over time [Music] down down down [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] you [Music] okay so knowing how dirty this car was it's going to be imperative to get the underside sprayed off really well as there's a ton of dirt and rolled salt that would otherwise be missed and start to cause rust so using my undercarriage washer here i'll get it sprayed off really well being sure to go over it multiple times foreign [Music] moving to these dirty wheels and tires and having already used the pressure washer on them nice and close will get the majority of the dirt and any blooming off the tires and if you aren't sure what blooming is well if you've ever seen brown on your tires it's likely the anti-ozone that's leaching out which is something that will happen naturally over time however if it's not cleaned regularly the tires will eventually be stained brown so it's always a good idea to clean your tires regularly with a good tire cleaner and stiff brush like the one you just saw me use which is available on my website at detailgeekautocare.com [Music] all right so with a few ounces of soap in the foam cannon mixed with water i'll spray on some nice thick foam to help loosen any remaining dirt on the vehicle and then go around with my detail geek boar's hair detail brush and use it around all the emblems door handles and behind the gas door all the places that my wash mitt would [Music] miss [Music] [Applause] [Music] tell you [Music] my [Music] [Music] moving to the drying stage and i guess mike had just finished up his yoga session and he must have been feeling really energized so surprisingly he offered to lend me a quick hand here getting this car dried and you'll also notice we're both using my detail geek ultra plush drying towels and if you guys were lucky enough to snag one of these shortly after the detail geek auto care launch and i'm sure you know exactly why mike loves it so much but for those of you who weren't as it sold out insanely fast i should have more stock arriving in february so you won't have to wait too long to get your hands on one [Music] and [Music] all right with the car out of the garage now i'll quickly get the floor cleaned up and then i'll turn to these dirty floor mats and we'll first start by spraying them off with the pressure washer to get all the dirt and debris removed and then using some all-purpose cleaner i'll hit them with my medium green detail geek drill brush to finish them off and then just rinse them off after now typically that's all i do with rubber floor mats unless they're really worn down and still look awful after they're clean then i'll typically use some carpro pearl to revive them [Music] [Music] all right with the outside nice and clean i'll get started on the interior now and we'll quickly get the front seats removed and set aside and looking at what we're dealing with here and i've definitely seen far worse lately so i'm looking forward to working on a bit of a cleaner interior today so i'll start by removing any of the personal items and will then just toss all the remaining garbage and because i've seen this question a fair bit recently i figured i'd address it again so some of you have wondered why it seems like people are never removing their personal belongings from the vehicle and honestly i sometimes have the same question if you've watched the channel for a while you'd know that lots of vehicles have come in with barely anything inside so it really just depends on the owner usually it's not all that much though and it only takes me a minute to remove it so i really don't mind but there have been quite a few lately that have been full of stuff [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] working my way around with the vacuum and i'm sure there's some of you out there who are wondering about the quality of carpet in the civic so because this is a cheaper vehicle manufacturers tend to really cheap out on the carpets with the civic being no exception as the carpet is that horrible velcro-like stuff that holds onto every piece of dirt possible so luckily the carpets aren't super dirty here and i'm pretty confident i'll be able to get them looking brand new again despite their quality [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so starting on all the trim now and i'll work my way around the vehicle top down and start with a boar's hair detail brush as it's a bit stiffer and makes quick work of any dirt or debris that's hiding down in the cracks and crevices around the vents door handles switches cup holders basically anywhere that you can't easily use the vacuum on and then for any of the more sensitive plastics that are more prone to scratches i'll switch over to the ultra soft brush [Music] [Music] [Music] now i figured i'd let you know if you aren't already subscribed to my second channel the detail geek 2 that i've got quite a few videos over there that you guys might enjoy including compilation videos q and a's how to start a detailing business video and of course my clean with me series where you see everything from my perspective and some behind the scenes stuff too so if any of that sounds interesting be sure to head over there and check it out i recently posted the clean with me video from the hunters gmc sierra just a few days ago and it's a good one [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] now as i start on the rear seat here i figured i would give you a detailed explanation of my extracting process i follow as i always see people asking about it in the comments so after getting some chemical guys lightning fast solution diluted about 20 to 1 sprayed on i'll agitate with the drill brush and then get to work with the bissell continually spraying water at the same time and as i do this i always watch the color of water coming through and once i see it's coming through clear i'll switch to just extracting to get it as dry as i can and to answer another question i see all the time i only use hot water in the extractor as i pre-treat with solution so if there was solution in the bissell i would continually be adding more as i worked and that really wouldn't make any sense to me so the way i do it i can be sure that i can get all the solution back out [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] moving inside the car now and for any of you out there who have a vehicle with dirty carpets and want to tackle it yourselves the combo i use of chemical guys lightning fast my detail geek drill brushes and then the bissell sparkling professional to extract works really really well so i would highly recommend all of them especially the bissell i've used mine significantly more than the average person would and it's still working perfectly so if you guys are curious i've got the links to them down in the description along with nearly every other product and tool that i use [Music] here's all the dirty water sucked out of this civic gross [Music] [Music] moving down to the pedals now and after spraying on some apc diluted about four to one which is heavy strength i'll blast them with some steam and the stiff brush attachment and if you've ever wondered why i do this after extracting the carpets it's because when i use the drill brush on the solution it tends to fling it all over the trim and pedals so if they were already clean i would just end up repeating work [Music] so for all the dirty trim pieces i removed earlier instead of scrubbing them just with a towel i'm using the steamer to help loosen that dirt and it's able to get this clean in a fraction of the time and that's really the beauty of having a tool as versatile as this mcculloch steamer is you can use it in so many different ways all around the entire vehicle and it makes quick work of any kind of dirt or grime i would highly recommend giving the steamer a look if you're in the market for one the link is down in the description if you're interested [Music] now to dress uv protect and really make this interior look brand new again i'm applying some 303 aerospace protectant using a microfiber applicator pad and if you haven't ever had the pleasure of using this stuff i highly recommend grabbing a bottle it will leave your interior with a nice matte finish for about four to six weeks and provide great uv protection and then you can also use it to revive the look of any faded exterior plastics as well [Music] so [Music] [Music] now second last step here before this detail is done and that's to get the glass cleaned so with some glass cleaner sprayed on my waffle weave towel i'll quickly get the top edge of the window done and you've probably heard me say it in previous videos but the secret to streak free glass is a waffle weave towel plus they won't leave any limp behind like regular microfiber towels will and if you've ever had troubles with getting the inside of your windshield streak free well i really don't do anything special here besides flip my towel over for the final wipe [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] my so so all right guys and nine hours later and the civic is looking sleek and sexy again now if you guys enjoyed this video make sure you hit the thumbs up button subscribe to the channel so you never miss out on one of these awesome transformations enjoy the guitar outro and i'll see you guys in the next one [Music] you
