hey there wargamers welcome to today's warhammer 40k battle report i am luca from miniwaregaming.com joined by dean a returning guest with his space bulls and i will be playing the death guard against them in today's open war battle and in the mini wargaming vault a castlin of house raven lays waste to the astra militarum of the canadian planet they will stand before their planet falls check the links down below we play and call it work mini war gaming's warhammer 40k battle report taking a look at the death guard at 2 000 points we are playing mortarians and villes our play company we're running a battalion keeping it pretty basic we spend a couple extra command points on the gifts of decay so we'll run two additional relics leading this our warlord will be a death guard demon prince with wings he is going to have a sword you know mace here we'll stand in as that though and he's gonna have the gloaming bloat warlord trait as well as the warp insect hive helping out with command we have a lord of virulence with the plague skull of glophila as an extra artifact on him as well as a malignant plague caster with rotten constitution because we wanted to make him a plague chosen troop choices a couple of near identical plague marine units i just filled out their war gear randomly with a few extra points i had left over but generally champions had plasma pistol plasma gun power fist on the one and then a melted gun in each squad as well as the plague flail they're gonna be riding in a rhino we'll also have two units of ten pox walkers to fill out the rest of the troop choices elites we've got terminators two units of three death shroud one unit of five blight lords the blight lords will have a blight launcher and a flail ignore all the combination on them that's illegal now and fast attacks will finish this off two units of bloat drones with flesh mowers and a unit of two mophilic blight haulers love these little guys and i wanted to try and shy away from plague burst crawlers with this list but that's it for the death card let's go take a look at the vilka penrika all right so i'm running a battalion for my spacewalls i have used one cp for faint of the retinues to give an additional relic to my uh rune priest they are led by a ragnar black man in all his glory as well as a rim priest for my troop choice i've got a squad of assault intercessors all armed with bolt pistols uh two squads of blood claws armed with a starting chain swords whereas one pack leader is on with a power sword i've got a sword of intercessors on with assault intercessor bolt rifles and the pack leader has a chainsaw my elite choice i have a squad of playguard veteran the squad leader the pack leader has a near volcard gun and a redempt dread who is what you see is wizzywig my first attack choice i've got an outrider squad and thunderwolf cap all armed with thunderhammers and storm shields as for my heavy support i've got a squad of eradicators and a squad of long fangs long things armed with last cannons with regards to my dedicated transport i've got an impulser i know it's ravenwing but he's currently on loan as the spacesuits and policies in the shop and i've got two razorbacks both armed with last cannons now let's go take a look at the mission that dean and i have pulled up here so i'd like to show off this open war format just to give people out there the option to play different games of warhammer 4k if you can't get bored with the eternal the constant eternal war missions or you know scoring every turn secondaries which is a great balance way to play the game but sometimes you know you want to play old school and you want a kind of all over the place format so this is ripped right from legion there are three categories there's deployments there are objectives and there are twists we are always going to play the leftmost column we've already rolled off and dean will be banning the first card these remain hidden we just like to play with them hidden because i found it a little more fun and the way this works is if either one of us don't like these cards we could ban or pass if we banned for example we flip it over and we would flip over the next one and then we played that deployment with that objective in that twist that's how it ends up but with two bands each four of these cards could be removed so we are going to show you what it looks like so currently we have this deployment with that objective and this twist uh and i'll show you what it looks like afterwards uh maybe you guys want some insight into the thought process thought process on it so dean's liking all of these because domination is a classic just hold more objectives kill more things and we're both i don't know we're both pretty we we could both accomplish that so he's okay to pass the deployment's a little weird i don't want to i'll honestly ban it because i'm lazy and i don't want to do the math on it i want a more basic deployment okay so we got uh that is uh hammering anvil oh where's that town of war that's hammering animal it's hammer naval so it's more like this technically so dean is going to opt to actually just ban domination just let's see what the next one is and instead the problem is we don't know what it is so it could be in his favor it could be in my favor oh it's the objective drop so there's like um something falling from the sky that we have to control but we don't it moves every turn and you'll you'll whoever one of us gets to control so i'll zone in on it a little bit for you guys so this is only one objective it goes in the center and it deviates 2d6 every turn oh that's that could be fun that could be fun that'd be a little more fun so it'll be a lot more scrapping in the middle as opposed to fighting exactly uh i have one more band um i think i'm gonna pass that's it for the bands i like convey grade we as a death guard i really like invigorate it's good for the space wolves as well and i like the basic kind of deployment and uh the objective is fun and why not just keep it but i'm sure people are curious what the other twist could have been so we could have had exhausted so minus one strength and then we could have had uh unrelenting turmoil it would have been two more i would have drew two more twists i just added them to this one so we got invigorated objective drop and that i'm curious what the next objective would have been taken hold okay if anyone was curious what the next deployment was it was freaking ambush i i hate ambush the mission that dean and i have come up with is objective drop hurtling down through the atmosphere comes the vital objective of great value or a drop pod or anything really whatever the case it must be yours there will be an objective directly in the center of the battlefield and at the start of every battle round both players will roll off the winner can move the uh the objective d6 inches you must move it the full distance and you could choose to leave it where it is and then starting from the third battle round it gets close enough to the ground that a player will score a victory point if they control the objective at the end of their command phase in addition he'll score two victory points if they control the objective at the end of the battle whoever has the most victory points at the end wins this is all that matters it's gonna be in hammer and anvil style deployment and the twist is both of our forces are energized and eager they are quick to join the fray we're going to add one to our move characteristics of all models and one to advance and charge rules good for both forces taking a look at the table closer look the objective is actually on the ground floor and again it's just to represent where the drop is coming in it will move every battle round i mean it might move every battle around the objective is one of my taco cats from tnt laser works and the mat here one of my favorites for the layout of the roads is from p work war games and well all the ruined buildings and well structured buildings are from green leaf terrain as well all custom made by adam and then we have a bunch of games workshop kits that have all been broken up and destroyed and melted and scattered about the table and painted up just old models we haven't used in years so threw them on the be dean and i are going to go ahead and roll off pick our size deploy our forces and we're gonna start this game voila all deployed i got the roll off i chose this side i deployed first i am gonna have my lord of virulence in the bloodlord's teleporting in reserves and i put both my plague marines into one rhino we have a bloat drone on the flank death guard death trout terminators providing bodyguard for the demon prince there in the middle we have more death shroud near the malignant play caster they're on the upper level only for the camera purpose they're actually going to be down below to be the same move just to get out just because they're right up against the wall pox walkers behind the terrain obscuring more box walkers there with the methodic blade haulers this is the rhino with the two units of plague marines in it and then we have our bloat drone on the far left flank because i like to flank with them quite a bit and on to the space wolf deployment what do we got here dean we've got the first squad of intercessors of the assault uh balkans over here behind them we've got the assault intercessors leading up the front bring up the front we've got the thunderwolf cav reggie in the impulsive behind them inside the impulse with reiki are the black veterans oh nice yes and then we've got the first razorback with one squad of blood claws in it next we've got our redempted dread from the rune priest running together we've got the next razorback with other squad of blood claws in it up at the top we've got our long fangs with the last cannons then over here on the side we've got the eradicators and the art riders nothing's there using the cutting of the wharf now nope nothing full honey on the wolf oh the assault intercessors back here yes insulting so that's what we have for deployment death guard about to score off against the wolves of fenris over here we got the objective in the middle we're gonna roll off and the winner must go first we're gonna use the uh the match play variant here actually i needed to get a die i got uh six ooh five okay well it will be death guard turn one i don't really wanna go first i actually wanna go second but yeah whatever we'll go with it using this counter from bandura war games i'm gonna go up to ten command points i was at nine because i spent uh three on a couple of artifacts and a couple of uh or the one world trade though i kind of probably should have put a wall or trade in my load of vigor lanes i don't need it but maybe i maybe i didn't we'll find it of course the spacebase will represent the space wolf command points over there all right dean we have to roll off for this objective now starting at the start of the battle round i gave it five the winner can move it two seconds five five i gotta see if there's anything on a draw if not i roll a two a two okay okay okay well i'm gonna get a two okay what are the odds six five okay i'm gonna go double check to see if draws matter if not i will be moving it uh two inches there's nothing for draw so the winner must move it two inches we're just gonna go loop to there just come a little bit closer to my forces and uh again you can't start scoring to the third battery because it's like way above the battlefield still but we can see it dropping and we know where to uh kind of position ourselves and you score at the end of your command phase two so you have to uh get into position uh the previous turn and uh proper command phase stuff i got nothing we're going to go right on to movement now when it comes to movement i think i want to just keep these guys over here we're not going to be too ambitious with them we're going to go ahead there's not going to be a lot of shooting in my first round it's going to be repositioning the pox walkers are going to advance and get plus one to this so they get to go up to five more inches on top of their four we're not gonna really commit too far we're just gonna go with them to about up to this position i'm not too sure what might they're usually good for like cheap little objective holding i would have liked the domination map for these guys or the mission for these guys but uh you never know maybe they'll plink up some more wounds here and there do some damage one way or another so they move five plus the five they could go further but that's okay for them uh we're gonna go with the blow drone who moves 11 because of the twist plus a four so it goes up to 15 inches i guess i'm gonna take this blow drone buzz buzz buzz uh we just want to go to right there we don't want to get shot at by too much stuff we're just going to go ah i'm going to go right here actually i want to be protected by the building and then we're going to advance all this stuff but we're not really going to do too much with it we're going to have you go there we're going to have you guys fans they have more than enough movement just to move up here and then we're gonna have the rhino move forward as well just a little bit just a little bit just a wee bit again i didn't want to go first so i'm not gonna i can't pop out and do a bunch of damage i can shuffle my things a little bit closer is all i can do really then from over here this blow drone that moves 11. i'm going to try my best to say it out loud every time so i don't forget plus 50 plus 5 will go 60 in this move actually i'm going to use a stratagem on this one now that i no um yeah i'm gonna use a flash outbreak on this guy to give him a contagion aura that the death guard demon prince has which is bloody blows so no rerolls uh of hit or wound rules against them we're gonna be aggressive with them it costs two command points so it also increases the range of that aura by one i'll go down to eight with that flash outbreak i forgot i was gonna be aggressive with him we're gonna go boop 16 inches right here putting them kind of close to enemy lines but with no rerolls against them hopefully that helps them out a little bit yeah maybe it won't and then over here all this stuff in the building let's go with the pox walkers advancing they'll go one sure so they'll go up to six but they're gonna have to go over that some of them so i'm not really too concerned about just gonna go over here yeah i think i'll just go right there with them and then oh the death shroud well i got to expose something at some point if i want to make a push for that objective especially on turn three we are going to advance to that shrub they go six currently plus six they go up to 12 inches we'll stay there and we're going to advance the plague caster who will go a similar distance plus five so he goes nine right because he moves six now yeah no that's uh that's that's eleven and everything is so much faster they could have gone a little bit further forward but i want to commit them too far without and then leave the uh play caster behind if you rolled poorly and uh again we're keeping them all back there i should go over the psychic powers on my characters miasma pestilence on the demon prince curse of leper and gifted contagion on the plague caster that is it we're going to go on to the psychic phase now we are going to start with a miasma of pestilence from the demon prince uh we got it with a seven is there i don't think the room priest is within 24 of him i guess no because he he'd be he'd be at his line i'm actually behind blind with him so that's true there'd be no way let's uh go ahead and throw that miasma down on them and that is the end of my turn i have not a single shot to do and uh we're just kind of lumbering towards the objective we're going to go on the spaceballs turn one the wolves will go up to 12 command points nothing to do the command phase is going right too do you want to do uh best shield nature on anyone or no at this moment not yet okay so we're just going to advance the long claws long vents long fangs up to 12 yeah they're not 13 14 14. yeah they go 14 they move seven now and they just rolled a seven on the advanced roll it's gonna be hard to remember that so if we like for anyone watching if we miss like an extra move here or there it's gonna probably happen they're gonna scale to the top of the building and they're gonna take a an elevated position that's subtracting six from the move as they scale the building alrighty so the eradicator is advancing up to two so they go eight inches eight inches update ending there that position dreadnought redemptor moves nine we're not gonna advance him because he wants to fire some of his onslaught stuff she's gonna go up and around the corner boop though that way he can see some of my death trout at terminators the priest will go seven i'm gonna involve him but he'll be still within and get some lookouts over there so the thunderbolt cavalry are advancing an extra four inches on top of their left teeth yeah they go 15 inch move i figured if i was aggressive with him i'd lure out some thunder wolf cavalry we'll see we'll see see it launch advancing the assault intercessors would we get back there so they go an extra four they go 11 inches cause they move seven it's gonna be hard to do it's gonna be very it's so different than what we're used to and forward they go uh for the all father for the old family that's where they end up what about what's next um the intercessors let's advance them as well extra two okay so they go nine i'm gonna go around the sandbags which are difficult terrain i believe the trade is called i apologize if i get any terminology wrong here anyway i played uh what i feel like is 32 games of horus heresy last week and it's been a bit since i played 40k so that's uh we got two razorbacks here they move normally 12 i think so 13. i don't know who did you really advance so one razorback ends there the other one zips up and around the outriders are the arrows is going to stay there do they want to move first to get in front of it let me move them first so yeah you just leave it there yeah just leave it there 14 normally oh gosh they're 15 now zips up so fast coming to the side of the table so razorback then moves there after the outriders end up in this position with bolt rifles trained down at the enemies and from the outriders we come way over here to the impulser who was 15 now because he's zippity-faced uh and we could go so from the back of the base of the back base he's going to take up this position behind this obscuring ruins with ragnar and the bladeguard veterans inside the wolf guard protecting the wolf lord that will be the final move we have the room priest now in the psyche phase so we're gonna just before we go to the slight face we're gonna move the rune priest back a little bit outside of denial range and we're moving the razor back a tad bit as well just to provide lookups or continue lookouts here so we have two powers to caster what's the first one only one we're going to uh parts at the moment it's stormcaller yeah light cover for those spaces nearby we got a four and a four that's an eleven i have no way to stop it the storm caller goes off yep and we're not going to cast any other powers with them yet because no need they won't do anything what's the other power he knows he's got two other powers we've got standard smart and he's got living lightening and stormcaller living landing in storm color okay good good so that'll provide cover for the redemptor and the razorback right there as they're within six of them do you want to do the two command point stratagem to give uh negative one to hit to those dudes as well after casting a psychic power or no oh with the the living stone oh i think it's called livingston i can't remember the name of this something along the lines cloaked by the storm it's two command points and uh you know he's he manipulates the elements about him using the magics of fenris to do so and uh providing them with negative one to hit as well as light cover he's not a witch it's not a witch that'll bring the space rules down to 10. and then we're on to the shooting phase where do you want to begin over here yeah let's go with my outriders first with their twin bolt rifles what are they firing at so normally they've got two shots each but they're within rapid fire range so that's four shots each so you get 12 shots just from the bikes into the pothole box walkers all right well they can survive it baby three stay hit and four is to wound threes the box walkers are toughness four so it's forced to hurt them and we've got oh quite quite an amazing roll only one fail that's six wounds they have a rule called unknown yeah they only have a seven save they have no armor really against this so unending horde gives them a six up to ignore damage so one of them is just gonna shrug off the damage and then five do get gunned down you're going to lose i would hit the building i'll fix that and i take these five i'll leave those five right there next up the razorback firing into the feather bloodroom glass cans or pair of ones there are ones cp one you want to reroll one hit roll re-roll put down a nine you got a hit and a wounds on a three because i'm only t7 that is a wound and i got a demonic save of five plus which oh i will make boom right off his otherworldly nature that brings the space wheels down to nine after the command point reroll on the roll we have one melted rifle assault one total obliteration will not come into play here because well they advanced that's a hit and it wounds on a three yes demon save oh come on you can't hurt me i'm the death guard this could be one of those games then we have the other razorback firing the twin laz cannon into the blight lords hitting on fours doesn't matter guide me as them up and these wound on threes because i'm toughness five oh a one okay well they have cataphracki plates so they have a four plus in vulnerable save damage for dean this day well miasma didn't really help them it's gonna be one of those games it's gonna be one of those guys it's gonna be one of those games did you pay for the storm bolters on them these are like the studio ones no no there was no storm bolts on the storm that's 2 000 points on the dot there we go yeah and that one's got a radar on it now some sort of device look at that fixed no storm boulders all right we have the redemptor dreadnought up next what are the targets all into the blightlord terminators all righty so the heavy on slot first on fours because i'm negative on the hit but there is no three so it didn't matter these are gonna wound on threes okay not bad seven wounding hits we're in the devastator doctrine so there are ap2 i have a two up save that goes to a four plus save because i have no cover there so oh that's a bad roll i'm gonna lose one and almost another one too regular onslaught on three or fours only strength five so it is wounding on fours we have three wounds also at ep2 we're just gonna do two more damage so i'm at uh six damage those two of them are dead or actually i'm at seven damage still two of them are dead the storm bolters there should be two of them so one more storm boulder yeah so they both hit on the first one the second storm bolter one miss and fives to hurt come on we lose oh we have a two up safe uh well they both passed there we go one of them was the drop down but they're all both good finally heavy d3 from the rocket pod three shots are forced to hit and these are threes to wound oh both of them both should be ap one normally uh correct so i make one fail one it's two damage but disgusting resilient reduces it to one damage all right well we're gonna lose those two and uh we have a single wound left on the champion champion that's about it that could fire just because uh this is as much as this is obscure there's actually a solid wall on that side that's blocking all line of sight over there anyways and uh they advanced but they have assault weapons but they can't see through this they advanced they advanced so i think we're on to charging charge o'clock thunder wolves charging your drone flying gardener seven inches eight inches actually instead of the seven but they go right around him just boom he's done and just going over here not charging with the outriders because the blow drunken hero intervene it also puts their writers in a position just to get hit by everything else around here as well but we're gonna go right out of fighting with a thunderbolt cavalry they have three attacks a piece because the shock assault except for the pack leader who will have a a fourth attack because he just has an extra one inherently so there's gonna be 13 attacks over on this bigger open area here they're hitting on fours normally negan one but they are space wolves they get plus one to hit on the charge first run in combat so these are threes to hit and then uh you could just do the patterns exactly the same weapon might as well throw them in there as well okay so we only actually have uh so there's no re-rolling against i mean not a lot of rerolls three misses and these are threes to wound with thunder hammers no re-rolling either yep because the gloaming bloat or because of flash outbreak he's got glomming bloat so four woony hits that are ep two i only have a five up save against it either way demonic or armor i'm gonna make oh none of them oh does he explode he's not dead these are only two damages he's got one wound left i might re-roll i'm gonna command point reroll one of these okay no he still takes it damn okay well that wasn't in my math we're down to seven there and then we have the thunderbolt attacks 12 attacks from the wolves these are hitting on twos because they get plus one to hit and i have no negatives oh we got a handful of ones fives to wound he's only got one move left he should be dead on this with how well the thunderbolts went to the mate yeah all right so i am going to pat ah there you go does he explode no that was part of the plan that is one mortal wound to the thunder wolf cavalry they're too far away so first blood and first blood three wounds left and they can consolidate uh four because they have uh that special i can't remember swift attack swift killers they get to consult a little bit further on thunder wolves taking up that position after consolidation that is it for the turn i have no morale to do on the box walkers because they automatically pass all morale checks and this will go away now second battle round we're gonna go up to two command points and space walls are in the tactical doctrine for now oh we have to roll for this objective to see who gets to move it i got one this time that's not ideal for the ball so it's gonna deviate this way and then the wind or whatever first takes it that way assuming and you oh 11 so it must go 11 and you you choose the direction it goes in it's gonna go to underneath the razorback that's where it will land and then you'll score that in the third battle round so i have to i have to get something over there this that's bad position excellent i might just let the spaceballs get this initial point here i'll try to slowly push towards it i'm spending command point in my command phase for stratagem called the dead walk again that's for the pox walkers i roll 7d6 for this unit it's only once per game per unit so i can only do it once again on that unit over there and then for every three plus i roll i add a destroyed box walker back to the unit once so i get six back but i only lost five so five come back i just gonna put them to there i'm about to i honestly have no idea what i want to do there's no there's no real great maneuvers for them if i'm to be honest like that's not a great charge for them i can't get back here with them so a little tough hope the dice have betrayed you we're gonna be aggressive with the death shroud we'll move it right there get some cover for you if you fail your charge i'm not going to advance you just moving six well there's not many options i could have you hide back here but i'm not going to draw the fire i want to draw with you so you're going to end up moving there you got to deal with the eradicators so we're going to have you guys move here this thing's so fidgety it just slides around on the center of you guys we'll have you move first stay an inch away from them yeah i'll just move them there i can't prevent them from piling into them but that'll probably charge them anyways realistically and then you'll charge them as well just i don't know take some hits not ideal not ideal we're gonna move the foul blight spawn next so he moves six plus six so you go 12. we're not gonna go that far with him we're just gonna go to there and then get him in range of the eradicators see if he can do some work on them and we gotta figure out the rest of our stuffs here demon prince takes to the skies with an 11 inch move and we'll end there and then we're gonna see what we can do with these death shroud they're gonna have to go up and over the wrecked predator going up and over and across they lose three inches of movement but there are they are ending there it's not great but and we'll see if they get lucky with the charge bladecaster advancing uh pretty far we're just gonna go to about here and then we're gonna move these lads to about here because they actually need them to go there because they need to shoot even though the redemptor and all that are uh negative on the head better cover i he's a massive threat to death guard his weapons are great at anti-death guards we're gonna have you move more to there just to get some lookouts here going but i still want your psychic powers to the thunder wolf and then from there we're gonna have the rhino just move up to that position be a another wave for later and then we're gonna advance the pox walkers an additional six on top of their move of five i'll take up the position behind the rhino there that'll be it for the basic movement we have our reinforcements to bring in our lord of virulence and the blight lords we're just gonna push up the middle and see what that can get us so we have our lord of virulence uh he's gonna go back a little bit there he's gonna land there the destroyers are gonna end up there more than nine inches away from uh those uh space wolves units pushing up the middle and we're gonna go into the psychic phase and we're gonna start with the play caster start with curse of the leper which will be hitting the thunderbolt cavalry well i'm gonna reroll that with the command point i'm gonna go down to six and we got a seven instead that's more ideal all right so the rune priest isn't arranged to deny he has a runic weapon so he gets a plus one of this role ooh does not get it plus six plus one you have to roll a set up naturally yeah give them the command point re-roll the whole thing no same result also we both lose the command point the wolves are down to eight i'm down to six the demon prince is in range to lower their toughness because it's the second battle round with the contagion and uh how this works i roll seven dice for every roll that is higher than their current toughness they'll suffer more wound uh i roll two fours so uh the rest don't do more so they take two more ones this guy's down to one but i rolled a seven or more on the cast of that spell and they're the nearest within 12 so they'll suffer an additional mortal wound and that will finish off that thunder wolf capitalist emmer's going to go ahead and smite but we got it but not the big version so no more denies his d3 mortal wounds three mortal wounds one of those thunder wolves are down to one but are you down on one and the demon prince will attempt to put miasma on himself can't we roll it that is that he fails that is gonna bring us to the shooting phase the first one i'm gonna start out with will be way over here on the foul blight spawn putting his immune broth churning it out of his gut through the little device on his back into them it's 12-inch range and i just moved him to be within 12 of them so let's see what we got he does have the i think i may have forgotten it but i did do the upgrade to make it re-rollable and make it strength eight it's called deadly pathogen so it's d6 shots it's five shots that'll automatically hit because it's a flamer type oh man and these wound on threes we roll the one because it's a plague weapon that is five wounding heads now we're doing the saves on them they are near we're playing the solid buildings as obstacles so that they provide cover on top and behind because it only makes sense so they have a two up save currently oh sorry but a two of save minus three three five yeah so it'd be six up save six no five upstairs make two of them two of them so that is uh two damage each so it kills one and wounds another we were gonna kill the one that was poking his head out and then put the wounds on the guy in the back there that's pretty much all the shooting i got over there i want to go on to the lord of the virulence next i don't know if it's really not we'll do the blade lords first next so we're gonna fire any of the bolters that can see them at them except for the one guy at the end who's just gonna fire his bolt gun into the dreadnought because he doesn't have any other line of sight really so we're gonna do two four combi bolter shots at them sorry four eight because of terminators and uh ignore the multi the combinations they can't have those we're gonna fire there and then the blight launcher will go in as well we'll do the blight launcher first it's two shots on threes all right and three it is a plague weapon there it wounds minus then they'll consolidate a wee bit consolidating to there the demon would you like to counter offensive would you like to interrupt with the dreadnought and kill that guy off or you want him to swing first um let me interrupt first so i can get rid of him yeah okay so that's two command points to kill my guy down to six for the wolves five attacks because the heroically intervened hitting on threes i twos is space wolf they all hit i meant all but one one does miss and then these are probably two's to win i think they're strength big fourteen or sixteen into power fist two woony heads eh interesting and he rerolls there and no did we get lucky with his invulnerable saves oh he makes both of them oh interesting he actually lives he will just fight right back just because it doesn't five up saves on the bikes each one is two damage that's a good roll in the middle again that kills two of the bikes off to lose from the bike fight the only other charge i have to kind of resolve is the demon prince but i'm not gonna bother consolidating or filing him in because he's just gonna have to get closer so we're just gonna keep him as is i have no more fights so the bike gets to attack back three attacks shine sold three times uh he should have one more shock assault yeah hitting on threes twos actually they all hit and these are fives to hurt the blow drone with an ap of one not a one not one that is going to conclude death guard turn two as we try and push up the middle as this objective is deviating away from our front lines we gotta push towards it and uh we're gonna turn two for the space wolves back up to seven command points in the command phase we'll spend one for the space wheels on bastille nature on the assault intercessors they are treated as if they are in the assault doctrine instead of any of the active combat doctrines so they won't the tactical doctrine doesn't affect them so they'll get extra ap on their pistols they're chained swords and every six to hit in melee will be two hits instead of one that'll bring the wolves back down to six up there so we're gonna move the outrider out of the combat with the so this guy can hear a clue being six inches yeah so i'm gonna say you want to just be outside of that six boop but it might block stuff you can move stuff out first then falling back we're gonna disembark the blood claws inside and they're gonna move i'm moving forward up to seven because of the twist the razorback is gonna move forward as well adjusting them like that so there's room for the outrider to get out of this combat so we can actually light him up with some shots and assume the erratic here is going to shoot down this lane here poking their heads out and they've got their melt the rifles trained on my flesh moa my fettered bow drone and the laz cannon long fangs are moved to the edge of the obstacle here they will be getting cover up there and they're going to be able to oversee the battlefield cool position and then the rune priest moves towards the dreadnought who's a little hurt then the intercessors ascend to the second level this room they're actually up there they move seven so it's three to climb up four takes the front guy to there and they can shoot down this lane then the assault intercessors move seven as well and they're just gonna move towards my line of terminators of ambitious of them i'm thinking of that position the impulse is going to go to this side where the best nature card is yeah and support fire from back here a little bit the razorback is stuck in combat it could just stay there and shoot his last cannon that's true yeah and disembark the blood claws in that razorback all right that's where they're disembarking and moving a little bit now they don't even need to move that much but they're ending up there yeah on second thought they're gonna disappear and then move their seven into the ruins one correction is we will disembark regnar and the blade guard veterans before the impulse removes so if if they want to charge they still have that option available to them now uh it'll be like if we if we do a full line charge here this charge will probably dictate the outcome of the game unless the objective acts really weird there could be that could always be a thing but that's it for a moment we're on to the psychic phase what are we starting with um i think going to be moving on threes and that is a pair of wounds ap four or five actually technically because we're in this uh tactical doctrine but we have demon saves we're gonna fail both it could be 2d6 damage plus two on each of them but minus one because i'm death card let's see how high this rule is so this is going to be three boop boop this will be six because of the melted range but i reduced them down to five and two for a total of seven wounds he's got two's left two remaining wounds one crack grenade and four bull pistols from the blood claws i know the whites the crack grenade you were no ap cause they're not in the assault doctrine i'm okay i passed my saves and coming from that side of the table over to here we have the intercessors yeah these are assault bolt rifles so it's 15 shots into the desk road 15 shots on threes no negatives here we only have two misses five's tuned these are all ap i think one six wounding hits they're ep one because the tactical doctrine we take a damage champions in the back i guess we'll take the one on you uh five shots from the assault intercessors firing their heavy bolt pistols into them should be threes we oh but one five two and we have a wound plus six and that should be ap oh that's the damage he's kicking it with one wound left blade guard veterans are going to light them up with pistols as well three pistols in the volca they can all see through different degrees on them you've some of them around the terrain so simple and then that guy can see that guy volcano will be watched okay it's the white dice two shots with it and their pistols are the red ones they hit on threes we're going once because ragnar is there yep looking for fours on the white fives on the red oh we got the mortal wound and we have a wound on the pistol so we have the pistol safe which is a safe and then we have the vocatives which are two ups they are but that doesn't more wound yep recording them that will finish them off and we got the impulse for firing the two storm bolters at the terminators as well they're both rapid fire uh we didn't note it earlier but the because this is the raven guard one in house uh dean wanted to try out an impulse for the first time it does have the shield dome and not the extra weapons on top because it didn't have the points for it so shield dome in the storm boulders four shot uh should be eight shots actually because they're both in rapid fire and these are hitting my death shroud on trees okay half miss fives to hurt the death shroud come on come on that's the word ap one that's the difference put the other non-champion down at two moons okay and then the only thing left to fire is the dreadnought who is still tied up with the death strats we have to figure out oh we also have the storm bolter yeah on the rune priest oh yeah and the blood cloths they're a little hidden from my uh recording perspective storm bolter will go into the box walkers is not rapid firing okay hitting on threes okay one hit and wounding on a five oh four actually nope and i want to point out i know i could have piled in and followed the box walker's last turn i didn't want to i didn't really care too so that's why i didn't bother doing it i still want to roll the dice on them uh and then we have the so he's done firing we have the blood claws and the dreadnought claws are going to shoot through the window in the ruins as they charge towards the blight lords these hit on threes and uh okay two hits ragnar's a little too far away to help them out these are fives to wound nothing how are we divvying up these shots uh i'll put the storm bolter and the money onslaught into the death shot terminator and then if he dies if he dies i'll put the heavy onslaught and the icarus rocket pod into the light lords all right doing the onslaught or the stormwater first uh let's do the onslaught first should still be eight shots yeah they're both agents yeah yeah them together so this is the onslaught hitting on fours because it's heavy okay so all the guns that we see earlier and uh we have three hits three okay and these wound uh they're starting five so they should wound my my dude on fours my blade uh dash rod see if we can survive it oh with three winning hits he's probably not gonna survive that oh he double fails the double filter ep one because they're just ep one so he dies and then the storm bolter just shoots into his dead body and then we have the rest of the truck just to make sure now and we're within rapid fire here we are heavy hitting on threes because it's no longer engaged and threes oh five wounds now these are only 81 because the doctrine's moved on i do have a couple guys in cover so it's going to go on them first they have two up oh i take two damage so we're gonna put that on you one wound d3 from the icarus oh one with three again three shots okay and uh they all hit yep and the wound on threes this rocketbots paying for itself man two of them ah i'm gonna command point that once i don't lose the terminator there we go i'm down to three it does free up the dread not to charge as well so we're done shooting we're on a charging we're gonna let dean figure out where he wants to start because there's gonna be potentially a lot of charges or not this is gonna be like a deciding battle round before before the objective even truly lands on the third battle round we're gonna the dust will have to settle and we'll be left with next to nothing left fighting for whatever wherever that decides to go blood claws gonna declare charging against the pox walkers plus one to the roll that's six charge like so the dreadnought will declare charge against the blight lords looking for an eight inch charge well it gets plus one what's a seven with the plus one that's a fail use the command point to re-roll the charge looking for a seven on the dice to make it in we're rolling both and oh that's an eleven well take a bat position very nice uh blood claws i think we'll go into them as well same target okay the claws charging six inches and they make it in charging the lines what about these units i assume yes yes all right we're charging the assault intercessors into the death shroud yes and that's a six but they're near ragnar you let them reroll that is even worse that's a five five five he did an eight or seven on the dice to make it in unfortunately does the veterans want to go in the wolf guard or they want to hang back with ragnar the blade god need about an eight ragnar will be on his own the marine priest is gonna stay where he is ragnar and the wolf guarding to stay where they are these guys unfortunately fail their charge so they're to stay there as well is that it for charging that's it for charging uh i have no heroic uh this guy will hear up intervening to them i guess but like it doesn't really matter he'll end up there we're gonna do the blood claws and the blight lords first twin the pack leader first with his power sword hitting on twos everything hits and these are strength five they win on fours that is three winning hits it cuts right through their armor so he's gonna have invulnerable saves that's going to do one damage so far and then we have 16 chain swords because the blood clouds have a rule that in addition to shock assault they get an extra attack when they charge not the other ones but still hitting on twos with all these chain swords they're all going to be ep ones twos to hit only well there's actually a lot of ones in there yes and fives to boom two winning hits ap1 fail that's another damage should i take two damage does finish off this blade lord and then it'll put a damage on this playlord right beside him i think not a two okay we're gonna go ahead and fight with the four into the spawn here into the not sponsor the pox walkers we're off we're gonna opt for one blood clot not to fight just because uh that would pull in the blow drone 17 attacks because the pacquiao's also got a chain sword in there getting on tubes forced to hurt the box walkers oh okay six winning hits on ending horde oh all six die these guys cannot be brought back that'll leave me with those four or dreadnought next it does have to pile in to get within range to attack so you would unfortunately for me but also good they they get to fight back but he's gonna blind terminators that's okay three ones yep well that's lucky for me well this whole game's been lucky for me and vulnerables make one fail one and i'll just lose the bladeboard yeah because these are d3 plus three the minimum four damage which always kills the blade lord perfectly consolidate as far as you can getting even closer to them over there and then that's it for the charges i get to do a non-charge like i think the rest are just non-charges so we're going to finish resolving attacks over here you can't pile in you can already attack because they're you know so they're both going to attack the dreadnought i'm not too sure what their profile looks like so let's go figure that out together four attacks each hitting on threes come on get out there there we go they wound on fours because i reduce your toughness i got four winning hits at ap2 i don't think it's a plague weapon but just in case five vp two not bad ah so only two damage then i'm gonna go with the lord of virulence now maybe we'll go with this guy he'll pile in there he's gonna put his attacks into the dreadnought he's gonna put his attacks into the unit and then this guy has to put his attacks into the unit as well because i can't get within half an inch of the champion but i will do the champion first champion has four attacks with the sword they all hit strength five your t6 so i wound twice at ep three so two six up saves i do one more two more damage down to two down two the terminator with the flail has three attacks normally but every attack with the flail is two hits or two attacks so they hit with all of them and i reduce you down to toughness three we roll the ones for the plague weapon okay and then these are five saves at minus maybe one minus two five bumps ooh only kills two i'll get the uh other sword guy out of the way i'll hit and one more wound at minus one six up just one damage we take out two from over there and then well you could i'd say take this guy that way my lord of the virulence can't fight so i'll put him on the other side and just put him down in one wound my lord of virulence heroically intervened but he can't you don't get the pie then when you hear a point i should have fought with the first but i figured the terminators would have taken out a little more of them and that is it for my fights over here i have one to resolve with those pox walkers i have what four box walkers there yeah uh yep and then they have two attacks each on fours oh i should have done the weird mortal wound thing about in three more weeks and strength three but you're down to toughness three so force three wounded hits with the box walkers no ap so three three upstairs power armor you are taking one damage all right that's it now for leaderships on your turn i don't think you can fail anywhere nah they lost two bloody clothes out of that pack yeah he took some damage on the dreadnought that doesn't matter and then no damage on the blood clouds over there no uh my terminator is lost too they can't possibly fail and my pox walkers are immuno they always pass morale they just they have to be killed down to the last man and that will be it we're going to go on the third battle round where we have to move this objective that's where the objective is i'm gonna we're gonna roll off if i could win this role i still probably won't get it even if i win the rolloff i got four six oh man 2d six inches in any direction that dean and the wolves decide well we'll roll over here we got a four so you get to move it four inches not up to four but a full four i can imagine you're just gonna move it somewhere away from me boom just under where the razor you can move the rays back because the razorback's technically boom it's going even further back right now i don't think i want to do the outbreak anywhere no no outbreak anywhere we're gonna go ahead and proceed to movement phase i think we're gonna have the demon prince move to there i want to make it so ragnar can't get i gotta make sure ragnar can't get uh hero convention off as long as i charge someone over here six inches should not be able to get a hero convention off for him and then these bad boys move six what are the virulence will move up and maybe i'll fight ragnar who knows who knows they're stuck in combat they're all stuck in combat let's advance the psycher then let me play caster an extra three well that's unfortunate that still leaves the blood claws closer over the the blade guard veterans which i would have much rather gotten hit with psychic powers but i mean five and then the back squad of five a little stifled on the movement because the front squad's blocking but they do get to move six so it's very nice for plague marines to move that much faster and then the last thing i got to move is the rhino who is going to move realistically i don't really know nor do i really care where the rhino goes i guess let's just say rhino drives to there we got hiccups time for psychic stuff uh let's go with the psycher perils please know the millennial playcaster will cast gift of contagion oh i think we feel i don't fail i just don't resolve the part of it that was the closest guy so he's done pestilential fall has already been resolved so go to the demon print so i think i want miasma over smite oh we got it so he's negative on the hit negative one to hit with uh gloaming bloat is pretty good to have if i can pull it off and we're done the psychic phase we're gonna go right on to shooting shooting shooting shooting well the ones i have to resolve are these bad boys here these methodic blade haulers yeah they're going to put both the multi like extreme overkill maybe maybe both the multi melters both the crack missiles in to the redempted dreadnought the bile spurts are blast weapons i cannot target them there but they're going to target that pack leader instead because why not four multi meltas are negative one to hit now for in inexorable advance it's only bubonic astartes units so things like the rhino land raider predators they don't suffer the the negative what they hit penalty for firing heavy weapons while engaged but the demonic engines do now if you're playing pox mongers you can spend a command point for them to essentially ignore that and then also fire the blast weapons in combat which is really good for uh uh plaguers crawlers and all that good stuff but these are hitting on fours on the multimelters got a couple hits threes to mooned one wound minus four there should be no save against that are you going into the drain this is the dreadnought yeah so you should have just a four up uh three-up save yeah i don't yeah cause you don't have this like you fail both like powers exactly yeah yeah so this is d6 damage plus two so it'll be six damage minus one is five damage on the dreadnought does he explode does he explode in a final hail mary no he doesn't he just the melt that goes right through him cripples his legs he falls over dead the rest of the shots are wasted into his body and then the bile spurts will have two three shots into the pack leader so it's gonna be three five shots these will hit on threes and wound on i think well those at minus one one damage but you're in cover so you have three ups two three pluses oh nice fail one like one left one left i'm an idiot i could have uh the bile spurs i should have read the second set i seen blast and i'm like that's it can't use it it actually says you could use it while engaged in combat i wouldn't i don't think i would have risked we have the melt the gun which hits no wound and then the plasma gun i'll supercharge it too because it's fun come on one hits wounds minus three six up one has two damage on the razorback i believe he's got eight left right eight remaining wounds and then we have the second squad of plague moons we're gonna do something very similar uh we will do the champion well sorry that was the back squad at first the technical champion that was right there this is the front squad he's gonna put his plasma gun into the razorback supercharge the melted gun into them and then the bolt guns into the pack leader the two bulk guns in the pack leader we have a pair of hits two wounds two pluses oh we got him we got him hey we killed the pack leader with the gun and the melt the gun hits oh it does wood as well no saving against that is not in melted range just one damage and then no save it's just yeah it goes right through his armor it's just uh ap4 the plasma guns within 12 as well so it's rapid firing ooh he's gonna kill himself i'll command point it he hits he does not wound either both down to three except for shooting we're on charges so we are going to do the lord of virulence into the no we're gonna do the light lord terminators first into the blade guard veterans so no overwatch we're gonna charge with a plus one that's an eight on the charge it just gets right through as they go through the breachable walls and then the load of virulence will declare charge against them charging forward good enough good enough to there keep you based and then and then he's basing him and then the demon prince will charge both because why the heck not he gets to go up to nine flat flat flap my demon prince wings we should end up there an inch of both of them and then the death straddle charged you and the impulser oh a four that's a fail command point that's a six okay now that would have been a fail on the four the six does make it in and then for other charges let's go keep going down the middle we're gonna have the plague marines out front declare a charge against the razorback and the character the rune priest i guess you plus one to this roll a seven that's a fail that is a fail next up we'll have the bloat drone declare a charge against the blood claws right in front and why yeah we'll do the blood clots we go up to eight two different boom he's only got two moves left but he'll charge right there into them and then that's it for my charges we have heroic interventions from the wolves anywhere they want well ragnar is gonna hold back and so is that outrider bike no hero conventions with them it's a little too risky to go in uh we are gonna start this fight off with uh honestly that bloat drone probably over there and i'm gonna spend against my better judgment one of my two command points uh i probably shouldn't have done the reroll but i wanted to keep three so i can keep two for dean's turn but ah whatever we're gonna spend on demonic gluttony for this demon engine here whenever it kills a model it heals a wound but can only heal up to three so i can't go past five never brackets anymore so he always has four attacks uh but three per attack for the flashmob or these hit on threes then they wound on twos because you're down to t3 oh my that is nine moons nine to five plus saves that they're all dead two damage each they all get mowed up and murdered uh and i do heal three wounds of that uh demon so it goes up to five again it only caps out at three i can't heal more than three it's not gonna bother consolidating after that either i don't want to take any unnecessary damage this turn will the bike do whatever the bike wants to do get screwed you know what we're gonna tie that bike up we're too hungry to hold back i don't think the bike will kill him anyways i hope it doesn't oh no counteroffensive because the command points are getting thin and very small so we're gonna go with i don't know we'll go with the blade lord terminators attacking the blade guard veterans now i do not have any command points to do anything cool so we're gonna pile them in a little bit piling like that you can't really see but the guy in the back is within half an inch of the champion so they're all able to swing i'll start with the flail get him out of the way he's got nine attacks threes to hit oh boy we got lords nearby so we rolled ones oh okay and then these are strength five so threes to wound or the strengths yeah the strength five three's through and plague weapon that's five winning hits at minus two so you go to a four up storm shields you make three so that's one dead blade guard veteran those with swords attack this day reroll for the lord and threes to wound re-roll okay four more at your storm shields there's only one damage though palm shields you make two that's only two damage you got one one left on a guy so one dies and one move left i'll go with the lord of virulence next i definitely forgot about his aura of destruction when i shot the blight launcher i don't think it really doesn't really matter doesn't it the same failed to save anyways it would have been like a p3 uh just pointing that out for anyone who's curious i have five attacks with this plague fist that hit on threes because it's negative one to hit only on twos three woonie hits that you're in bones and you make one and fail one so one guy dies who is the wounded guy in the back we have two blade yard veterans remaining and then we'll go with the demo prince attacking the blade guard veterans he's got the hell forged sword equivalent six attacks on twos he does have the warp insect hive which lets them reroll all hitting rules twos there we go so we have six woony hits add in vulnerable saves and save one how much damage these are three each they will cleave through both of them unless you want a cp reroll one um we got them in cpu keep one guy kicking oh that's the current command points the way is clear ragnar is screwed oh he's free to do whatever he wants next turn and then we have these death shroud we're going to attack that assault intercessor they have four attacks each will do the cleave profile and then five for the champion threes to hit re-roll and twos to wound re-roll because it's a plague weapon two's because they're strength seven against t3 ah that is like four or eight wounds this is extremely overkill i probably should have put attacks into that in pulsar but i forgot it was even there and these are i think yeah they're two damage each so even that fail there is enough to take him out he's just been turned into paste all right so we've cleared the way again we're tied up in combat over here though a little bit that's it my turn is done you get to fight back with that impulser and the outrider that's engaged on the other side attacks because i charged it uh we have no hits he's caught the outrider three attacks maybe and then the four attacks because i piled into them one miss and these are fives to potentially wound the vetted blowthrone that is uh okay two of them well heck he's gonna take a damage one down to four that was an obviously very good term for the death guard yeah i got because we got stuck in in the middle we cleaved through most of the spaceful forces now the objectives are all that matter unfortunately here so this razorback was within three the edge of it if anyone was curious it got moved around a lot but it was still going to be in range of it when it moved so that's gonna be a point for the space rules on their command phase but the space rules are left with a couple of characters and a razor back in these intercessors they're gonna desperately try to defend that artifact as it drops down the relic as it drops down turn three for the space wheels though and that's where we're at with command points in the command phase we get the command point nothing else to really do other than gain the one victory point for the objective razorbacks moving back all the way back full move just gonna try and save points we could advance him as well if you wanted yeah the regular move takes him there would you like to advance or just keep him there let me keep him there ragnar is gonna consolidate back towards the objective as well we're going to move the eradicators they move six but we rolled the two on the advance which is actually a three so they go nine inches and end up back there and then the razorbacks pulling back as well back it will end up there and then the long fangs will stay up there where they are perched intercessors are going to advance extra you can re-roll if you want or keep the four doesn't matter me even better yeah heck yeah so they go up to seven extra they move seven already so they get to go up to 14 inches so it'll be about an eleven inch move as they descend to the first floor we're gonna descend down go around the sandbags and huddle up in the corner there keep the impulser tight up here with the dash route take some shots and try to take out some of the dash route while it's engaged and uh psychic phase we got the rune priest all right psycher the rune priest will conjure up some magic what are we starting with smart schmidt looking for a five is that a one in a that's one of the six i'll try and stop it i got my nope d3 more wounds on my terminators are the nearest visible two two eight so we got one moon left on uh i guess we'll take it on the champion rather not lose the blight launcher and then we have living lightning which should be the nearest as well but it has a chance to arc two nearby enemies so six that's a two and a half one well you have three command points if you want to remove it three yeah rerolling it three will become much higher eleven well i might as well try and stop it double six oh halfway there okay we rolled down to two command points three we caught it off camera but it's three modal wounds to the terminators and then it has an additional effect that on a roll of a three plus it'll arc to the near uh nearby enemy unit within a two to four it's a mortal one out of five but it'll be d3 to the nearest so it's one more mortar one to the lord of your lands three more wounds you die and then two more damage on we'll say the light launcher yep because i like the flail there's the one with that flailing flailing flailing the lord of virulence it'll arc to him because he's the nearest and take more wound five wounds left we have two terminators left in that squad we're going to shooting the long things are up next what's up what's the plan okay so i'm gonna put two of my layers into the terminators and i'm gonna put the other two layers into the plague marines over here all right which one are we firing at first the terminators we'll it's only six inches okay one shot one shot with his bolt pistol he's got a basically pistol misses oh he probably hits his ragnar yeah and then fired wound no no and then these guys have no real targets because they can't can't target him because of bodyguard and he's engaged with them okay fire at the load of virulence with the storm bolter on the room priest uh one hit one hit and a five nope from the rune priest we come to the outrider who was stuck in combat blow drone nope oh i missed this okay second thought this guy is supposed to fall back he's just gonna bloop loop up and around the corner so the razorback can fire it makes way more sense yep so razorback two shots oh they both hit pair heads threes to wound them oh wow thank you i'm demonic i make oh double sticks oh come on i'm on the worldly that's so weird the lasers just go right through them i'm convinced your dice is all loaded ah they feel that way after those two glorious saves are under the charge phase where the spacers unfortunately won't be charging anywhere we clashed in the middle and the space was lost they lost pretty hard so we're going to heroically intervene the demon prince in here the goal the impulser is to try and keep this all tied up knowing that the demon prince could pile in uh the impulsive i want to hold you two more turns that's the goal that's the hope to tie all this crap up so the demons principal first with this board reroll and then on threes re-roll that wasn't six not that the sixes matter uh and then five saves at minus three five six ups i actually need one that's three six nine twelve damage i think that's him i think he's dead is he blow come on no anti-climatic i'm sending him back to the raven god not in many pieces not in many pieces no here no demon prince he was eleven he's gonna be the one to have to deal with the ragnar with ragna and then we're going to move the death trap i need to kind of like bubble things out in case i do win a roll off and i can drag it to one of them or something so the destroyer going to move in this direction i'm going to move to this i'm going to move you six advancing the psycho he moves six plus six for twelve a twelve inch move takes it there the pox walkers there in the alleyway move five inches plus four they go nine ending there and then we have the other squad of pox walkers they're going to the same thing they go five plus seven so go up to 11 inches no 12 inches so we can kind of tell the difference and then the plague marines they're going to move forward and maybe attempt a charge take up that position with a six inch move the ones behind them are going to advance six plus four that's with them advancing and then these guys are just gonna move forward and by these guys i mean the methyl blight haulers they can't quite go their full move because models are in the way and the last things i have to move are over here got this blight hauler who just moved there why don't you leave me alone the blow drone i mean we'll go there the blight spawn advanced six we're just gonna put him about here but he's gonna flame up here i don't care about the rhino anymore i don't wanna move it anything too fancy on the next turn trying to keep them stuck there and then that is it for my fights over here i have fights over there nine attacks between the two of them hitting on threes because i'm negative one hit with this weapon and then these are twos to wound so these are minus three but you have heavy cover yeah so five ups five five plus saves come on you make two two we die whom you you and you yep and then we might try and solder i think if i back yep i did not get heavy cover because i charged this turn yep they will fight back in the space well so they get an additional plus one to hit yeah yeah five attacks on the chainsaw is the pack leader that got charged with the chainsaw they'll hit yep because he's got plus one hit as a space wolf five's wound yeah it's three of them these are minus two ap oof that's a dead terminator and because of savage fury there was a six to hit which also wounds three up no more dead okay still two damage though and then we have the regular guy who has three attacks two's to hit he actually has three hits because of the six you know what the role he's got yeah and then fives to wound with at one because he has no real fancy weapon one i take advantage yep i'll kill you off and put a wound on my champion champion leaving him with two moves left so he they cut down three they cut down one of them from the we got the razorback that gets four attacks oh yes because i charged him nope nope the solids are still there so that's it should be yeah five seven attacks yeah from the eradicators and sixes are good no sixes but two's hit and it'll be fives to move we have oh wow two one saves i take two i'll have two left very nice very nice okay that's the end of my turn uh these intercessors could fail a morale check on uh because they lost three guys i think they're losing eight so on a six they run no not a one definitely not a one that is the end of my turn four it's gonna go to turn four for the wolves turn four gaining a command point we're both at two still one nothing in the command phase there is nothing near the objective as i was able to kill it all off so no scoring for the wolves as they are failing to secure this turn and there's only one freaking battle round left after this oh the long fangs might run away i don't know i did kill four of them and oh that that guy's gone yep these erratic here is going to fall back in this direction because dean is hoping to win the roll off again for the objective and it'll deviate somewhere over here i suppose okay i just want to stay like far away from my guys getting them too because that's a little too close because i can move over there and charge so that's it we're gonna stay in combat and fire last cannons on force that is a hit and a wound on a three you could reroll the head if you wanted to or just the three to wound it's up to you that's wounded how many demon saves can it make oh that's it he's pretty much at the end of execution i won't get heavy cover against his attention and then pack leader with the assassination no heavy cover oh two extra hits so that that plus one more die five hits winning on fives ep two oh gosh he's so dead he's for the assassin point oh oh both down to one am i destroyed or dead a cool assassination he jumps over as he's distracting just chainsawing the uh you could consolidate if you want to or you just want to stay here safe i'm gonna say stay there safe-ish that's it they cleared off some of the crap coming towards them obviously i still have a big chunk of my army left but we have one single roll-off as we go on the fifth battle round this roll off will that take this roll off the game's gonna come down to this that's it a four oh very average of me two oh unfortunate unfortunate unfortunately and i'm gonna move it six inches dean is going to drag it over to there right there and then i'm just going to my whole turn is i'm just going to advance everything on it all the time this game is going to be a draw i'll get two points at the end i'll get nothing in my hero face nothing's within three of it we already measured that before we moved it oh not my hero face my command phase you will get nothing in your command phase then at the end of the game it checks to see whoever controls it oh that's right and then that's two points i'll just there's not enough bullets in this in your list to kill all of my troops that are gonna go on there well i guess that's it so let's say gg good game good games good game it came down to the awkward left-handed handshake well it comes down to the last roll-off in the open war oh to save everyone from watching it i would just advance advance maybe you would go over here to charge because you don't actually care you and then everything else will just make a circle around it and just hold the middle and then the packages drop in the hands of whichever plague marine or pox walker seems that necessary freaking hell good holding though that was tight that's why like that's why i don't want to ban this one because i really like this mission yeah that's that's uh it was a fun game and like first time i played it uh this is definitely it's i think it is like it's completely out of everyone's control the objective you could have won you wanted pretty much every roll-off except for the last one yeah i tried but try it i know the last one is just like it's going that way and then yeah the wind if i would have got it i'll let you move the truck 100 yeah you could have well you got six or they would have gone over there yeah and i don't know maybe i could have got to it but it all the pa it all it all would have came down to my eventuals and i don't think i would have got it if you won that roll off for that objective moving and if you're like a double one or something i might have been able to get it yeah but if you roll just that six i think i would have lost by one point actually three points because you would have gone on your last exactly actually maybe i would have actually suggested you just keep everything away from it exactly not letting me charge yeah and then that's it that would have been game yeah i would have taken like narratively i pushed right through the space while forces but their only goal was to hold and that was it that's this game this game my favorite thing about it is how it end and flows between hold the line and push hold the line and push you never know what your role is going to be from turn and turn pretty much the whole time there's holed for you yeah but uh it below so we tied up our dice and our uh gaming utensils i guess you could call i don't know i'm lost for words right now man i almost threw that game so hard by shooting this guy's flamer i wasn't gonna shoot anything else and like oh whatever i'll do like a little bit of piddly damage with the flamer and then charge him with the demon prince well don't i roll perfectly enough to kill you or should i say you roll poorly enough to let your psycho die yep which almost cost me the game but i got lucky in the enemy and it came down to the roll-off though like i'm kind of happy i did it because it made the dramatic effect of it coming down to the roll-off uh this was um what did you think of your list like what'd you like about it would you not like about it what'd you like about the game and what would you have changed if you could think of anything like that never could think of anything uh i would say with regards to this list um definitely keep my blade guard as like get them into combat faster instead of like holding them back so much the only yeah the only downside i'd say the blade guard are a great choice for space balls the only downside is they suck against death guards exactly this is my first time playing death card yeah and i've heard the rumors and it turned out to be true it's just the because the master crafted swords are two damage so you're losing a damage on that uh and all the mortar wounds death guard could deal kind of go right through the blade as we've seen they went i didn't even use the plague skull i like mockingly rolled it off camera yeah but i think i got three more wounds on four ups and i rolled two sixes which would have been another four more on average four more wins for like seven mortal wounds from the relic yeah which would have been a little bit one thing i did i forgot to use my involvement impulser i never shot it yeah oh is it against shooting only or is it everything i think i think they're actually shooting so i beat it up in melee yeah yeah you destroyed them yeah the demon prince beat them up the goal was again to like if if the impulser could have tied them up then they would have been able to get to the objective but i rolled it really well failed saves on the impulser it wasn't likely but but mama rolling was definitely under average oh yes my saving was well above average exactly and the dice like if you saw a switch halfway through i switched like from the red dice to the white dice and i still got betrayed it wasn't beautiful no no i made like for whatever reason this blow drone over here just like fell over dead even with gloaming blood on him and the one over there on that flank survived everything so like in my mind i guess like he took all the saves from this one pretty much so instead of him dying completely this one just fell over dead yeah but it was kind of like it wasn't like a trick but it was a way to get the the thunder wolf cavalry over here so that i could charge them exactly and try and deal with them yeah that worked out so it was a trade it was uh the thunder of calvary and the blow drone kind of similar i think the founder of calvary probably four of them are probably 160 points i guess maybe no probably like 200. do you know at the top you're at i don't actually know the top man they're like 55 points of model i think yeah i think they're about under 200 for sure for the four okay i think yeah yeah at least but at least now compared to i think seventh or eighth their thunderhammers are way cheaper oh yeah well before they were like 40 points if they were over the field of 40 points i would not have brought them no i like i love thunderbolt cavalry for space walls i like when i play spaceballs i like that above cavalry i like redemptive dreadnoughts uh and then anything else is just gravy yeah eradicators are cool oh one thing i think i should have done would definitely bring uh on priests for uh redempta if you yeah if you were to do an iron priest i would have brought like a second redemptor as well and i would i would have made points for that that would get a little more valuable you could run both both exactly yeah and you can make him a master of the forge to automatically heal three exactly all that stuff and then like iron priests for um the space wolves they have the tapestes hammer and they have the hellfrost pistol so they have like a little bit better war gear than a regular uh uh tech marine yeah yeah but also we didn't know what the mission was gonna be exactly i i thought about like again with my death guard list it was a i didn't want i wanted a lot more termite i wanted a terminator an infantry heavy list with a little bit of support from uh demonic engines and i didn't want to bring the playburst crawlers because i'm sure everyone at home is tired of seeing them uh literally every death guard list has three of them in there they're like the crutch of every death guard list they fire out of line of sight their strength they flat two damage they're marine killers so i didn't want it i didn't want to bring that to this list i wanted to have more fun and build more terminators and they still worked out well because it turned out to be a melee clash right in the middle again building lists having no idea what the objective is exactly i don't play space wolves like a traditional space rule player yeah you have you have a hybrid list of uh a lot of heavy fire support exactly that's the way i tend to play all my armies uh hybridize them yeah well like a like a jack of all like you don't yeah you like any marine army should try and skew into shooting because that's one of their a lot of people will be screaming oh you're not you're you're you're not pure you're not a proper son of russ but no i'm our choice i'll play it like that and they've that's fair to well i fed while doing them i i think that that that's not it's not far off like so when i play spaceballs i often have long things in my list but uh yeah i i typically run long fangs i typically run the redemptive dreadnoughts with the onslaughts because i love the fire support they provide they're the onslaughts are such a good weapon they can deal with most any threat if it wasn't if it wasn't for the the nerfing of the wolfen i know yeah i don't really play i don't play wolf and whatsoever anymore i i played the wolf in a lot and they've definitely been good to me but uh for my own personal opinion i think they should not have been nerfed i it's they were the way i would put it is they're a hell of a lot killier now than they were before but they never needed that help exactly they killed whatever they touched before they didn't need to get more killy traits yeah they needed to keep their defensive ones exactly and they took a pretty big hit because of that but that's thing i've i haven't run them in months at all i haven't either no yeah so that's why i'm going more shooty for my wolves and bringing a lot more heavier firepower i think you're way better off running thunderbolt cavalry yeah as opposed to wolfen yeah they thunderbolt cavalry advance in charge they have a two up four up they're t5 they have they have like a perfect wound characteristic of four because three damage weapons they feel kind of bad shooting at them yeah and then two damage weapons it's not that just as effective against the three wound models so i like i like the thunder wolf calvary quite a bit they're actually one of my fav now i don't like them so much because it's just guys riding wolves it's a little weird yeah but they're very good stat wise i mean i've chased uh oh what's the big knot the one the volcano cannot gone blank at the moment oh the uh the castellan yes i've chased him around the board and they've they were tanking all the shots from that and and eventually they just they went down to do stomping yeah the player was terrified of them it just shields up right shields up deflecting all those shots exactly i love thunderbolt cavalry squad of six i like to run if i if i have if i have the points i run squad of six and then i'll maybe harold with him i like yeah i'll have a psycho give them like turn one negative on the head bonus to their cover save yeah so they can actually benefit from coverage and go with the wolfenstein as well yeah give them more attacks you know that yeah like you really skew into it and uh yeah i just love and then you just have a wolf lord running around a thunderbolt if you really want it i i love spacers i can play them all day and then but i typically only have one build it's just long fangs that are in deep strike and then thunder wolf and redemptors to carry me up the middle yeah well i think with the long fans a lot of people bring the wolf car terminator at the moment that's like the stock standard you've got to bring with him right i don't have the model i don't have a whole car terminator i've got wolfgang turbinators okay but they're melee built ah okay i like i think like it if you are gonna add a wolf guard terminator you wanna do like a storm shield combi plasma out of thinking social comedy plasma or storm bolter with uh with the rocket with the missile launcher oh yeah you can do that yeah that is that way you can still do long range it's like all the fire yeah because like i like to i like to do all multi melters and then like they just they do cunning of the wolf they show up from a battlefield edge you ignore all modifiers to delete something one thing i would say would be awesome if they could do it is give the long fangs like slim down hellfrost oh like a different health like a heavy health frostbite yeah so i'll get everything else but then you get another option of the other stuff down helpful i wonder what that would look like i don't i don't think they've ever had a hell frost weapon the only hell frost weapons i've seen space walls have are on the storm wolf and the other one the stone tank the storm fang and there's just a very heavy version of it and the transmitter also they've got the hell frost pistol too yes they've got the it's a land raider build where you can actually put a hell frost on it yes yeah i think i think that's true too yeah i think it's the same hell frost as the transport flag yes it is i just took that and popped in the front with uh i think it's like four less or two layers on them oh okay yeah i think the uh idea there would be like because it's a twin hell frost destructor i believe it's called i can't quite remember on the transport and you would just take like each long i guess each long thing would have one of that not the twin version that'd be kind of cool i can't remember the profile on it but it's got it's got the dispersed and focused profile so it has some um flexibility in what it is aren't the best at the moment not really they haven't been the best for a while for a long time for a long time i run them for fun yeah yeah i like i like the shadow to a land raider every now and then landrieu's used to be good the only reason would like to run a land right away if i put my my thumb they have a storm shield terminator yeah that's it exactly that or yeah if i ever do that i actually run the i run the flyer or a land raider yeah exactly the flyer just because i can carry a lot and uh or a crusader but crusaders are i don't know they're all it's all kind of cool level about the pros and cons exactly yeah they're just a little too costly now obviously if a land raider crusader was 10 points it'd be busted it'd be completely overpowered right definitely yeah so it's like you know it all depends on the points it's just a little two steeping points they even reduced it but then it needs a little bit more it just it just it feels a weird role right it does it does yeah just oh going back to your army that the toughness and your dice rolls just ridiculous oh absolutely i love this death card build this was uh just like i said it was a melee focus infantry bill but every death guard list has like a pseudo melee focus to it minus the plague burst crawler support i think the mafic blade haulers are a great choice for any death card army i'd rather i've run three if i had them i only have two of my own though yeah the studio's got three but i like to run mine i paint them up sometimes i'll use them yeah i just the multi but the with the buff to the multi melters and the buff to all demon engines getting plus one to hit they're amazing there's a strategy i never got to use because it never came up but it's an interesting interaction uh because of the multi-melta meta in a lot of cases it's such a hard counter to it so at the start of your shooting phase the opponent's shooting phase they belch out fumes yeah and anytime you go to shoot at them one of your attacks automatically miss it makes sense if you look at it law wise yeah because the death god are constantly like surrounded by my asthma and giant insects and stuff so it makes sense so like your like your razorbacks between laz cannons they only ever get one shot so they're two shots the one shot always misses multi mouth is only got one shot heavy boulders or two shots it's very powerful against the right build i think also maybe what i should have brought because you said like the one the one damage weapons maybe much better against me yeah i would probably have said maybe until the last or brought it bring another two razorbacks in twitter or twin assault cannons tear death card to pieces especially in the first turn exactly i think i should have done something along those lines it's it's just like that's the difficulty like when it comes to building marines historically a marine list can handle any enemy as long as it brings the right amount of heavy weapons yeah right but you never know because you never build your list before you just build your list and you just hope that that's enough exactly it's a little bit more relevant in seventh edition or horus heresy where the game really comes down to what heavy weapons you brought and the amount of them if you bring too much it's overkill and you won't have enough to deal with the infantry and scoring but if you bring just enough it's i you'll probably win the game whoever brings the perfect amount of heavy weapons will usually win that game yeah i normally go with the different the most high high outputs and heart damage right weapons well i'm a i think and i go for range that's one thing i want to keep people at at an arm's length so i can actually pop them much sooner than anything else i like because you have the onslaught i like you have the long fangs you have the eradicators maybe like one razorback would be twin assault one could be last campaign or like try and fit in a second do you have two do you have a second redemptor is that the only one you have no i brought my second one but he is built more along the lines with the plasma destruction oh he's got the plasma again he's got the plasma and the flamer okay when i when i build my mold up you want one of each i want one of each but also i'm i'm one to try magnetize a bit more now yeah just to like save a bit but also i think maybe a gladiator could work as well the the gladiator with the sole animals i've actually never seen them really used i see them in one game and it was kind of a jerk and i said i don't know what that does i'm just going to kill it so i just killed it right away it's the new model syndrome yeah that's the shiniest thing i don't care you painted that nicely i'm taking him off the ball it's like that thing looks like it's got a lot of guns i'm just going to put all my heavy weapons in it oh i got it i had the word that's what it does that's the one thing you always target what your what you think is the most dangerous yeah what also possibly thinking is probably either eliminators that could have helped also oh the sniper guys the snipers because if i could have popped them anywhere on the board and then i could have uh targeted your characters yeah you could kill off some of the characters like that guy ran around did a bunch of more wounds yeah uh the demon prince the thing is i had a lot of body guards so the bodyguard does counteract that bodyguard right now iffy on the road bodyguard's a little over bodyguard they need to rework bodyguard yeah at some point bodyguard's a little too easy like i didn't do it this game thankfully but you could do real janky things like you could have your demon prince right here and then have my bodyguard hiding behind this ruin and no one can shoot him and you can't see them this is a i think a vindica assassin no even vindicator doesn't trump that either yeah yeah i'm just glad you don't bring multerin i whatever like he's he's okay but like he's fun for me to use but i have i have a little i have just as much fun running more like melee guys and i know my opponents don't typically like more terry and i know people don't like watching him being played yeah because they see him all the time exactly literally every death card player out there wants to play with moritarian he is a primark why would you not you have a problem you have your problem with a thousand sons exactly even if your psychic face takes an hour and a half well i look at it like 30k everyone wants to run their pride marks in 30k so it's kind of the same deal in 40k if you have your primark of course you're going to want to run i mean i've got lehman but he's not in 40k exactly all right lima russ is a great example i i highly doubt if i'm playing like a 2500 point game of horus heresy or more lehman russ will be in every list i don't care what anybody calls he tanks every single problem according to he's super cool already yeah oh lima russ is one of the best primary fighters yeah he he would lose against a couple of he would lose against horus if if hor you know that's a dicey one yeah and then the rest are whatever lima russia is just super good at fighting primark because all primarks hit him on fives and uh except for the lion who can only ever hit on fours well that's a whole nother story yes it's a lion that's the lion that's a very touchy subject yes very touchy exactly there's it's you know you don't yeah you're right you don't talk about that one too yeah but i love the line and then it's again you're right though thousand suns i think oh i don't know if ultramarines like to run gilman a lot but i would have a lot of fun well since since gileman's gun line isn't as good as it used to be yeah i think they not bringing gilly as much anymore i think they need to rework his rules a little bit they they need to because like before when you had the the ultra gun line of the ultra parking lot yeah it's just but it was boring low interaction it's ultramarine they're the best at everything you would you would want you would want the ultramarines to ideally fight as their doctrines decree right you want them to annihilate uh the enemy with heavy weapons on turn one establish where they want to be on turn two and then hold it with melee on turn three exactly but they don't want to be deployed here right they want to be the entire half exactly you want a full like like proper army line up across the board they'll exactly and then gilman right in the middle leading with ideally more creative rules than real hate roles and wound rules because they could look at they designed more terrain they designed magnets they have fun unique rules they took warlord traits to really but they're kind of selfish primark because they don't help their legion that much hence was gillam and house more exactly loyalist traitor exactly the traitor primarks are more selfish and they can act independently very well on their own if you catch gilliman on his own he'll probably die for more wounds but he can still come back at least he could come back at least yeah but he's very weak to mortal wounds whereas the other primarks have a lot more resiliency honest they put into that's going to be absolute heresy if they made us luck when the ultramarine's supplement drops if rain can be brought with him oh happy kind of cool yeah ladies bring his aldol girlfriend with him anyways folks that's it for this game here we're going to tidy up a little bit more thank you dean for coming in for some warhammer 40k action i do appreciate opal more it just changes it up from all the eternal war missions now i do like the eternal war missions it's just sometimes your variety especially when you play a lot of warhammer 40k indeed yes anyways folks we'll see y'all next time
