[Music] it was a beautiful day on lake wanasync lake fishermen were fishing herpetologists were herpetologing and monkeys were [Music] you throw it and it comes back to you [Music] well it's supposed to come back [Music] a ping pong ball no it's an egg ah where'd it come from a bird's nest of course maybe it rolled here poor little fella found an egg huh that's one big egg might be an eagle egg huh that's the only bird around here with an egg that size there's an eagle nesting in the pine grove down by the lake that's we just want to have a picnic sorry no dress passing past this did you find the mommy george [Music] well hurry the egg might get too hot oh you found an egg can we see it no uh shells are thin you might wake tiffany from a nap [Music] or could it be a sparrow you find the mommy if george was going to find the egg's mommy his drawing had to be the right size and the right color [Music] oh [Music] but he was running out of time the day was almost over ah it's gonna be hard to find tiffany's mommy in the dark hey let's ask the experts they might know who the mommy is [Music] anyone know what kind of egg this is looks like a house wren to me i'd say it's a parakeet more like a house finch to me you got that george a house wren a parakeet or a house finch [Music] find the mommy yet [Music] tiny reddish-brown eggs and parakeets had little pink eggs [Music] and house finches had light blue eggs [Music] oh george still looking for the mommy yeah why couldn't george find the nest his drawing was the right size the right color [Music] but wait it wasn't the right shape the other eggs were oval but his egg was round uh they all must have hatched oh oh hi george the man was looking for eggs too let's face it george is never gonna find the mommy we'll just have to move the egg but tiffany could get sloshed when you live in a city you see all different kinds of buildings tall ones and short ones square ones and curvy ones but of all the buildings in the city george's favorite was the georgian steve super skyscraping skyscraper tower hey that's cute you two are almost as good at building as bees are [Applause] bees could build things where'd they find tools that small [Music] come on i'll show you what is that honeycomb it's what bees make inside a beehive bees build hives to lay their eggs and to store pollen and honey hmm wait a minute you mean all that gooey stuff in there is honey [Music] mm-hmm see those cells these make those with wax from their own bodies isn't that amazing yeah it's a marvel of engineering an engineering marvel that smelled marvelously delicious today is earth day and i'm doing my junior farmer's earth day speech on honeybees you want to hear it if we say yes can we have honey hmm maybe okay bees are amazing creatures they build hives in trees mostly thousands of bees can live there all the other bees follow a queen she's the biggest bee and there's only one in a hive every bee has a job drones mate with the queen but worker bees go from flower to flower getting nectar and pollen to make honey [Music] good work george what do we use for frames that was a good question [Music] and george had a good answer they didn't call them frames for nothing george was just missing one part [Music] but not for long [Music] fantastic now let's put in my improvements indoor swimming pool bowling alley game room moon bounce golf course movie theater huh oh no you're right it's late let's drop this at aunt margaret's then we better work extra hard to drum up bees [Music] okay george so cows were coming maybe this whole field had once been filled with beautiful flowers and they'd already eaten the [Music] as the rest went in for their afternoon milking george felt like a big cow stopping [Music] failure [Music] [Applause] [Music] um this wasn't easy but george wasn't going to give up [Music] why was that wall stronger than george's [Music] [Music] these stones were staggered which made the wall stronger [Music] this would be the best wall a monkey ever built if he finished it in time george promised the flowers that he'd saved them [Music] [Music] george's wall had saved the last flowers [Music] the next day george brought the man with the yellow hat to see how he helped the flowers you're taking me to see these flowers okay i'm coming [Music] i don't see any flowers george [Music] huh the wall stood but somehow the yellow flowers were gone replaced by these things were those your yellow flowers oh george it's okay that's what's supposed to happen they changed huh well that's supposed to happen too those are seeds they'll land somewhere and new ones will grow so george's wall had helped the flowers to survive and he had until the new flowers grew to think of a incredible edible arboretum a cornucopia of exotic comestibles blueberries alicia blueberries are my favorite bush-based fruit come on george it looks like you all forgot the county sprout rules uh rule number one never eat any plant that you're not 100 certain is safe and that means consulting the edible plants guidebook um no it means getting an okay from an adult right rule number two plants are living things you can kill or hurt them if you're too rough so don't pull on them and don't break any branches come on [Music] why is the screen flickering [Music] either the earth is off its axis or i forgot to charge the batteries okay george can you climb that tree and see where we are [Music] and bill bill bill where are you going don't worry i've got my handy backup compass this way folks bill a sprout never leaves the trail that's rule number three bill oh my excitement's really growing cause we don't know where we're going in this direction green in this direction a path [Music] george couldn't believe what he was seeing someone was trying to break that branch somebody was not being a sprout [Music] oh no this man was wrecking a tree hey are you a monkey cool [Music] i always wanted a monkey but my mother said no george had to do something and fast this tree was in trouble [Music] hey return the headgear monkey [Music] george didn't mean for the hat to get wet or the man but george couldn't wait around he had to check on that tree george wished he could think of a way to get the branches back on the tree he needed something sticky really sticky [Music] like [Laughter] i'm sorry i left you in that tree oh dr greenbean nice to see you huh sorry we're late we've had a rough day tell me about it first this monkey ran off with my hat and now my tree lopper has vanished [Music] hey what's going on we'll put mud on this uh george ah so dr greenbean was cutting some branches and you thought he was hurting the tree oh you should have asked oh wait oh you're a monkey well anyway this is called pruning you make a careful cut and it doesn't hurt the tree at all hey i got it uh mr sproutmaster according to this you're going the exact wrong wait you're going the right way never mind proceed [Applause] [Music] the world was full of surprises but george never imagined anything like this this was the museum's first robot exhibit so what do you think george [Music] [Applause] [Music] so easy or what i want ten this one has a delicate enough grip to perform surgery or do this now over here are examples of what people imagine robots would be [Music] this is where we'll put your rare models you will have them here before the opening tonight right oh sure i'll bring them back after i take george hope thanks here you can drive the mars rover out wow hundley sure loves that okay george i have to take that with me thanks i'll see you later [Music] i never knew hundley like robots so much that's how george got the idea to make a robot for hundley to play with [Music] um [Music] it worked hundley thought george was a real robot [Music] being robotic for a whole hour was tiring george was ready to get out of that thing but he didn't want to ruin it for hundley by letting him see the robot wasn't real since he couldn't reach the button george decided to relax and wait till the elevator came oh hi professor hi i just came to pick up a small red robot you mean the one in the lobby he said two inches tall but i guess he meant ah two feet there was the elevator finally george could go home [Music] uh oh i left it right here oh no someone must have kicked it check the floor i don't think you could kick that thing across the room oh sure you could it's only two inches tall you mean two feet i know the difference between inches and feet professor there's a runaway robot upstairs it's small red and says xf17 on the side you got the controls what controls it has no moving parts [Music] george professor wiseman brought you to the museum because she thought you were my xf-17 [Music] yeah your outfit's so good you almost ended up on exhibit [Music] hey that's a great idea huh we promised an xf-17 model we never said it wouldn't be [Music] monkey-powered and that's how george became a museum exhibit for a day [Music] george was conducting an important experiment testing the bounce factor of the living room furniture this part of the couch made a different sound that wasn't the couch it sounded big it sounded heavy and it came from up there for george to be certain he had to go right to the source [Music] that sort of sounded like his neighbor but not really the man with the yellow hat was right george hadn't heard an elephant but then what had he heard that was the sound [Music] [Laughter] so the upstairs neighbor has a galapagos tortoise that's been wrapping gifts and making juice [Music] george i'm gonna say this one more time there is no way [Music] yes hi there we're your downstairs neighbors and oh so nice to meet you [Music] what's he doing i think he's looking for your uh elephant my what oh we heard some loud sounds um very loud sounds very lousy oh i am so sorry sometimes i get carried away working on my art i am an artist i do murals i mix my paint here then i use these rubber stamps i made [Music] here's one of my completed works [Applause] [Music] oh we also heard something like a bag of rocks dropping do you use rocks in your work no oh that was a bag of groceries it fell off the counter [Music] [Music] huh [Music] what on earth is that sounds like an elephant finger painting it does
