hey guys welcome back to cuphead the game that not only started my channel but also my slow descent into madness are you my dad what i'm at stage five of insanity so let's just go straight into expert and bust my balls on the new bosses and i'm gonna rank them from easiest to hardest beginning at number six but before we begin i wanna let you guys know i've started a patreon where you can participate in polls get some exclusive content and shout outs at the end of my videos you can even vote which is the worst shot to use per boss and then i'll have to use the winners for my next challenge video now let's begin the least death infusing boss on expert for me has been the furry bait boss but being the least hard doesn't mean it wasn't hard now on my first playthrough it seemed like it was going to be the hardest boss in the dlc because i couldn't wrap my head around the final face at all but before getting there you have to deal with the bulldog and his four little puppies which are the cutest [ __ ] things in the whole game i love them it's a shame i have to brutally murder them the bulldog was scary until i realized you can crouch to avoid the yarn balls he shoots out of the cat's gun still if i'm careless i might get hit once or twice but that's fine because i'm obviously going to be using the new parry ring with this charm your first third and sixth parries will heal you potentially giving you three extra hearts with no downsides and in the intermission phase with the little puppies they're absolutely no threat at all and they give you plenty of parable letters so i can just freely get all my hearts and i'm gonna need that health for the final part this literal [ __ ] will grab your screen and turn it sideways which took me many deaths to figure out how to deal with eventually i just concluded that the best way to adjust to it is to tilt my own head accordingly and i still do that it just feels better though for challenge runs i would really not want to get stuck having to do that all day yeah but while you're sideways you have to avoid the footballs that remind me of hildeburg's ufos in their functionality the yellow ones will not reach you unless you jump whereas the red ones force you to jump so if you get both at the same time a sense of direction is necessary to have which is again the hardest part about this whole thing also you'll go back and forth between the footballs and these lasers which shoot really fast on experts you have to make a quick judgment for where to stand or jump but the plane you're standing on can screw you over since being on either side of the plane's wings will cause it to move left or right still it's not that crazy hard once you've adjusted to it in moonshine mob you're caught in a battle between the mafia and the police but unfortunately like in real life during that time period the police can't do [ __ ] i mean they're aiming for the boss but that's about it it's really just the nuisance for you not the boss along with having to avoid them you also have bombs on strings little troll face flies and the spider himself who can fling caterpillars at you the running thing for this dlc's bosses is utter chaos there's a lot of fights that overwhelm you with multiple things happening at once and if you're bad at multitasking this is gonna hurt but fortunately i feel moonshine mob is one you can get used to pretty well it's a controllable chaos the middle face is less busy and yet a fair bit harder you still have the occasional cop and walking barrel coming in and out but i can generally just ignore them and focus on the real threat the gramophone whenever the sound waves turn red they're deadly and in order to fully avoid it you have to use the platforms to outrun it or if you're playing as chalice or you have smoke bomb you can dash through them but because the sound waves move so fast i'll still occasionally [ __ ] that up there's no real easy way around the face for me then we have the sort of final phase which was by far the easiest on regular but can drag forever on expert the hitbox for the anteater is the nose which isn't always on screen and when it is it's only standing still for a very brief moment it doesn't help that the tongue takes no damage and can block your shots from hitting the nose and if you focus all your attention on trying to damage the boss you'll risk having to deal with more than one of these balls of cops and goons and that you never want i've sometimes had three on screen at once and it's a [ __ ] nightmare however if you've been saving up a super you can blast it through the snail that appears at the beginning of the face which will shorten the fight tremendously glamstone the giant pain in the ass follows the theme of oh my god there's so much [ __ ] on the screen and this time it's even more chaotic and we all know the real boss isn't the giant it's the [ __ ] gnomes in the first phase instead of playing a game of florist lava you play the floor is gnomes and on expert you're often left with only two pillars to stand on so when the boss calls up on the geese or pulls a bear out of his ass you may just run out of places to hide thankfully the gnomes on the floor don't immediately pop out and the hitbox for the bear is very generous so if you're a cornet you can quickly drop down and then jump and dash back to safety but the hand puppet phase is enough to put this boss up of howling aces and moonshine mob for me what makes it a challenge is that the king dice and devil puppets are playing catch and the dwarfs just spring out of holes in the ground [Music] thing is you can't just memorize where the ball will go because the puppets keep changing height and angle at which they throw it so there's pretty much no safe spots as far as i know and if i focus too much on the puppets and the ball i'll quickly get overwhelmed by the gnomes but the reason why this boss is only mid-tier difficulty in this dlc is because as soon as you've survived the puppet phase it's over the last phase is really easy even if it is hard to look at knowing that they developed a lot of the dlc during kovit i imagine they had like a zoom meeting where one of the devs was like okay we need to come up with which intestine the player will fight against and then the other devs were like which intestine which intestine okay let's do that that's the only explanation that there could be for creating whatever the [ __ ] this unholy monstrosity is but not only does the witch blob thing have very easy to dodge attacks but there's also tons of easy parries for you so again use the parry ring and you're good after having struggled the least on mortar refries out of all the new buses on my first playthrough i wasn't prepared for what a nightmare he would be on expert maybe it's because i didn't have to learn the fight to beat it on regular but now it demands absolute perfection the first part is fine though when he summons his minions i way too often get hit because the angle at which they land varies all the time sometimes being in the corners of the stage is a death trap and that's supposed to be my safe space then he suits up into becoming a hulking snow monster slash a fridge and this is where [ __ ] gets real the boss will often roll across the stage while there's still ice cubes and popsicles flying around and the problem with the ice cubes is that they break into smaller cubes that fly upward before going down so you have to jump at a very precise moment before the boss does the roll but also then dash in the right direction right after i generally find chalice better for this fight but that means swapping out the parry ring not my precious it overall sadly doesn't do much for you in this fight because i find there are way less opportunities for easy parries and with chalice you can better control your movement in the air and stay above ground for longer and that's generally useful for phase 2 and 3 as well since it involves platforming but regardless if you're jealous mugman cuphead or [ __ ] elder kettle it won't change the fact that the final face is a testicular torsion it feels like a ground battle version of jimmy's final face and if you were back around when i first did videos on cuphead you'll know that that face is my biggest nightmare but at least with jimmy you don't have to worry about falling off rotating platforms while dealing with his nonsense and just for comparison to show how much harder expert monomer is look at the laser eyeball move from regular it's so harmless so cute and so innocent and then here's the same move on expert [ __ ] [ __ ] the airplane fights in the base game had a nasty tendency to be some of the hardest fights in the whole game and the one and only airplane fight in the dlc excluding howling aces follows that tradition the beginning is moderately hard but not exactly the craziest thing in the universe it's typically either the flying cows or the dynamites that catch me off guard when i'm not paying enough attention after that you're up against an object unknown to most of us gamers a vacuum cleaner this suck isn't really a huge problem it's the safe she shoots out not only do they drop really fast and can damage you on their way down but as soon as they touch the ground they break into riches that fly towards you and money definitely doesn't make you happy in this fight then she sucks herself in and turns into a sausage monster because cuphead this face gave me prostate cancer because it's such a pain in the ass i've always been the worst at wrapping my head around projectiles that spin around like to this day if i don't choose briny beard's final face i'll never get through it unscathed and i rarely get through this one either it's not just the spinny steaks but also flying sausage cans that can restrict your movement and the fact that the boss can at times take to the air herself makes you have to adjust her positioning in the middle of all this chaos you could say there's much at stake but if you somehow survived all that you still have her final form which gave me flashbacks to the war mutant from the forest and i don't know which one's scarier difficulty wise it can be manageable if you just stay calm go through the openings and parry whenever you can for extra hearts but after all the [ __ ] you've gone through so far it's no surprise if you have sweaty shaky hands to really give an idea of how hard this fight is let me put it this way i can use the parry ring get easy parries across the whole fight get the three extra hearts and it's still harder than all the other fights thus far on the list [Music] but by far the most brutal murder committed by salt baker is the killing of magikat he broke me he just completely broke me i feel i'm being punished for not having five eyeballs to keep track of every flying thing i'm sorry i'm genuinely sorry saltbaker for not being born in [ __ ] chernobyl if hell truly exists it's one where i'm forced to not use the parry ring and since i find miss chalice way better to use again that's the reality we live in this isn't the type of controllable chaos like moonshine mob it's just an uncontrollable mess of projectiles coming in and out from everywhere and there's [ __ ] calcifer from hal's moving castle jumping around the screen and on expert there's two of them because gotta have even more [ __ ] on the screen to add difficulty fortunately phase 2 is a little bit more relaxed gameplay-wise though i had some trouble getting used to how much is going on visually whenever you damage the salt shakers enough they fly straight into the chef's face but there was just something about the aggressive fast flight of the shakers that always distracted me it just felt like something i would have to dodge and it was hard to fight against my own instinct to do so again with chalice this is way better because you can use the invincibility dash to get through the calcifers i find it best to just stick to the sides most of the time and only focus on killing the shakers on the bottom and just ignore the ones on top staying calm is key then salty boy breaks apart and does a little dance for a few seconds and i feel really dumb if i get hit here and of course i often do after that he conjures up soul tornadoes breaks the ground and sends a variable heart that flies around and does damage if you touch it it looks very simple and it kind of is you just gotta climb up and avoid the heart parry it when you can and use supers when available but with this being the final stretch i tend to panic and make dumb mistakes staying calm is key but i'm bad at that the fight does kinda progressively get easier throughout the phases but phase one alone is harder than any other in the whole game so just getting past it is already an accomplishment but you still gotta get to the finish line with what little hp you've got left and i haven't jumped for joy in a video game for a long time as much as i did when i finally beat the boss first on regular then on expert and then when i got s-rank well i think that's about it for this video so would i say the dlc was worth the wait well it's been like 4 or 5 years what dlc would be worth that long of a wait let alone one that's relatively small like this but i like every new boss and i especially like the new run and gun it's so good because it doesn't exist so all in all i'm happy but next video will probably be my ranking of how much i like each fight i might just rank all the base game bosses in the same video we'll see so thank you all for watching and let me know what you think but don't worry too much about it because at the end of the day i'm right so that you don't have to be [Music] you
