you don't play as the country you're playing as a character a member of a family your job as that family member is to carve a world-renowned dynasty repeat you're not playing as the country you're playing as a character this isn't a dedicated guide of how to play crusader kings 3 but if you want that 5 000 likes first of all we have an army here plus g to merge those babies up and give them a commander and those competent commander funnily enough is your brother who is the heir to your kingdom he has 27 commander ability he is the man for the job we're also going to go into military and raise all the armies these are all the levies owned by my vassals as well as owned directly by me to top that off as well we're also going to create some men in arms these were called retinues in crusader kings 2. these are like actual professional troops not just like these guys with pitchforks and spears we've actually got professional armies that we pay a lot of money for we'll go for some light infantry and we'll go for some bowmen and that's all we can afford right now raise those up too and g to merge those babies up here we are if you click the banners in the bottom right you can see who you're at war with two wars one with the king of norway and one with the duke of normandy what i'm going to do to cheese the war vs the duke of normandy is wait for him to land in the south coast of england and then immediately intercept him what that does is gives me an attack advantage because they've just recently disembarked from a ship let me easily mop up their armies now there are some other domestic stuff we can take care of at the top of the screen here all these issues so first of all we have this strange anglo-saxon voting method where we vote for the next king of england yeah we're not gonna do that because that system creates a lot of issues like with your capital city moving which is very frustrating you can also choose a lifestyle because our current king has a martial education if you click on him here and you can see here he is a skilled tactician which gives him a bonus to marshall which gives more levies more attack power and whatnot he also gives a bonus to how much experience he gains from his lifestyle so we are going to select marshall he's already a strategist which is really good you could also select a lifestyle focus on the left here which gives a bunch of flat bonuses this one is probably the best one for now so this gives extra prowess which means they do better in combat and it also makes our knights better as well nice are these boyos here the number next to them duke morkar is 23 prowess which means he has the power to fight as if he was 23 men so knights are pretty damn strong oh here we go boys are ready for this politics oh yay few of the domestic stuff i'm going to take care i'm going to go into my council i'm going to tell my queen to focus on chivalry for the extra march gives better stats for all my armies and whatnot and focus on collecting taxes foreign affairs religious relations and organizing the levies you came for some war right here's your war right let's go three speed move further south and then wait for the normans to arrive and here we go he is landing directly here and i'm going to intercept him so as you can see there is going to be a battle that will commence here in nine days it shows you the advantages and disadvantages of fighting this battle at this particular time in this particular place let's not mess around let's just intercept them immediately off we go the only this is as they siege i'm going to siege back behind them so we go here then we split it off in half and then you go here and we siege back so in ck2 you had a bunch of sliders that gave you more or less control of certain elements of the government in your country and cq3 it's slightly simplified so right now we've got autonomous vassals and as you move further and further right you gain more and more control of your vassals which gives you more contribution to their levies as well as taxes and more control over them such as revoking their titles etc etc because for anglo-saxon our options are more limited this is until we get the research for that which is the royal prerogative which will work on that soon 354 years okay maybe not that soon crown authority 2. all right it looks like they're going to try and intercept us here so i need to be very very careful ideally i like to retreat to the mountains and just fight a really long battle there they move into interceptors here yes here and therefore i'll be able to get more of the levees as well as more money in that specific area so i want to concentrate all my money in one specific night tight area of our capital all right also what we're going to do is improve the development in our capital region right here development is a number between 1 and 100 and it determines how much money and its levees and how much supply is in this region and it gives bonuses for lots of other things as well right i think we've got enough traits now for our marshall so what i'm gonna do now is change my traits towards learning for a very brief period i'm gonna focus on scholarship focus we want to get scientific so we get our technology progress to go a little bit faster and also increase development in our county efficiency which
