in this tutorial I will show you how to create this furry cloth material and this actually a follow-up of the last tutorial where we created this model and I will show you how to do this very quick for this we open a new project and add a new material to our sweater just click on the plus remove the old one and add a new one in this new material what I will do is I downloaded the texture this texture here I'll link it in in the description you can just download it uh what we're going to do is Select this principle pstf press Ctrl shift and T and now we're in this now this window opens up what we will do is uh go to the full re-download the texture and then we're going to select the base color normal map no sorry base color normal map and roughness then just input this this will automatically insert the texture if you render it now we have this blue texture now it's a bit too big now for me by the way this only works if you have the node Wrangler plugin enabled if this isn't enabled Ctrl shift T won't work so just activate this and then it's a bit too big for me so what I'm going to do is set this to eight let's go daytime so it's a bit smaller maybe this is too small let's do it by five yes five is spelled for me I like to maybe six yes that's good it's not too small not too big and this works pretty much then what we're going to do is uh it's a cloth surface so what I'm going to do is to bring up this Sheen what this does it catches the light better like cloth does so just bring this up to one so you can see it will look way better immediately what I'm going to do now is go to press Ctrl Tab and switch to edit mode and in here let's create a new vertex group after we created this this vertex group just click assign here so the whole topology will be assigned to this vertex group and then I will go to Weight paint mode and then here I'm going to firstly bring down the weight all the way to zero [Music] and then uh show the text and I'm just going to paint through this what we're doing now is set the value for the little hair to grow at this spot to zero if I hide this again it didn't work correctly let me undo this real quick um I have a lot of faces so it may take a while to load for me this could be faster for you but for me I need to wait then if I hide it again yeah that's about good maybe it's a bit small but for me it works if you want you can trace every every letter on your own I won't do this because it's a fast tutorial but this works for me and then go back to to Ed to where is that object mode and go to the rendered View then go to the camera and here we're going to add a new particle system just hit the plus it will take a while to load then change the from emitter to here so we have a hair hair mentor and now it looks pretty weird uh one thing to mention if you have a modifier uh put the particle system at the to the top so it doesn't grow on the inside just on the outside then go back to the emitter take the length to about 0.08 take the make it a lot shorter then now you can barely see it that's good I prefer this I don't want this really long hair so this is good for me then check the advanced box now if we check the advanced box just go down to the just go down to the physique tabs and then put this to 0.05 and this to 0.8 0.08 this will create this curly tiny look don't worry right now you can't see that much we will fix this later and then what we're going to do is go to vertex groups go scroll all the way down then a density click and select the group we just created so it won't grow at this specific logo place so you can see another signal here is here nothing sticking through I like how I want it then bring up the number to add two zeros so we have a lot great like this as you can see something gross that's because uh the line isn't perfect for me I should have traced the whole the whole ladder but uh I I don't mind since it's just for the tutorial if you can do you can trace the the whole word I won't do this now from here on uh as you can see it doesn't respond the light correctly so what we're going to do is go here to the material tab add a new material and then go back to the emitter tab scroll down to render in the render tab select the newly created material now you can see it's all white that's not what you want what you want is to add a new node called principal therapy SDF just add this and connect it to the surface now it's brown what we want to do is change the color from brown to Blue but don't take a light blue take a dark blue something like this now we can see it we have pretty firm that's responding to the light correctly now as you can see we got this beautiful fur it looks pretty good and if you want to learn more to how to do this check out the tutorials before and the complete course
