hey guys what's up i am nikhil from dope motions and in today's video we will take a look at the volumax smart using which you can add a nice three-dimensional look and feel to your images in just a few clicks volumax is a 3d photo animator for after effects and it's simply the best all-in-one toolkit on the market right now volumax comes with four amazing tools which are portrait landscape projector and smart in this video we will take a look at volume x smart which is super easy to use and the final outcome looks pretty amazing to download volumax check out the first link in the description below with that said let's jump into after effects and get started [Applause] [Music] all right so here we are inside volume max 6 smart so setting up everything is very easy here i have the image of the tiger that i will be using for this example so first thing that i have to do is click on this button which says photo this will open up a new composition where we can drag and drop in our image let's make this a bit small so it fits our composition all right i can close this then we have to do the setup of our image so i'm going to click on setup and here we have a number of different settings so first we need to create a depth map of our image so the way to create this is let's say if you're shooting the image of a tiger with a camera so the first thing that will come in focus is the nose as it is much closer to the camera than the rest of the body and then the tree so we need to keep that in mind whenever you are creating a depth map for whichever object or subject you're using of an image try to visualize it how the depth map will be so there are some smart object here so we need to create some mask here so i'm going to turn on the first smart object and the first smart object is going to be the thing the subject or the area that is going to be much closer to the camera so in this case it will be the nose area so i can create a mask around his nose just like that i can make some adjustments here and that is looking pretty good the second thing that will come in focus is the face or the head of the tiger so i'm going to select or turn on the smart object 2 and let's create a mask around its head now you can create three different masks for every smart object so i can create three masks on the smart object one three on the second and three on the third and so on if you try to create more than three it won't create the shape all right so let's adjust this one there we go now the third section will be this one this area of the chest and the legs as first will be the nose second will be the head and third will be this area so i'm gonna create a mask like so all right then it will be the fourth object that is the rest of the body now you can adjust this anytime later on as well so you don't need to worry about it and the last thing is going to be the tree as it's in the background there we go and the final thing that i would wish to add i would like to add is a plane because we have this plane right over here and then the grass in the background so i can just simply stretch this out so i can just be smaller like that let's adjust this and i'm gonna place this right over here so basically our setup is ready now you have different controls like the detail detailer settings so you can make this sharpen or increase the contrast and stuff like that now if i go right over here in the x-ray mode and turn that off you can see our depth map so right now it's very sharp we need to make things blend a bit more so that the final output looks much more seamless so first thing i'll select my first object and here i have different controls like the brightness the volumized size so i can actually play around a little bit of this and increase the volume boost as well this gives us much more control over the depth map i can even add some blur so that it blends in with the different shape i can hit ctrl shift edge so i can hide this and you guys can see it more properly i can add the detailer so it reveals the shape and the border protect so you can adjust these things according to your image i can jump into the second one let's decrease the size and i'm going to first of all add the detail and then add some blur to this so the transition is much more gradual same for this one let's add some details right here a little bit of blur i don't want the edges to be very sharp all right and let's adjust this one and finally the tree make sure the depth map is somewhere closer to the final look and now if i go back into my main com and if i move this if i move the volume max controller here you can see we get this really interesting look remove it and get a really nice depth i can hit ctrl shift and edge so that i can hide all the controllers so that it moves a bit more quicker but you get the idea of how cool it looks i can create some really nice camera movements i think i can even increase the blur amount i think in the first object i'm gonna actually maybe something like that let's increase the blur really high and let's see yep that looks much better you can see it gives a really interesting movement and basically now you can animate that then i can go right over here and add some flares if i want to so if i want to add some flares i can add that i can even jump into this and add some particles so if i want i can really let's increase the dirt amount it's going to give kind of a vintage look to our image but it will definitely make it look much more realistic so let's actually create a nice animation so let's let's say i'll go to two seconds three seconds let's move this right here something like that and now if i preview this you can see we get a really nice movement it looks much more cooler pretty awesome you can also activate 3d particles which is going to add particles in the front and the back of our image you get particle selector so there are a number of different options that we can choose from oh this looks pretty awesome and we can play around with the intensity density and you can see we get a really interesting look then they also have option for color corrections i can select this i can adjust the exposure basically i can color correct the complete image to complete look so make it look really nice and i can adjust the contrast as well tweak some saturation here you can add some insta red and you know do a number of different things and make your final output look pretty amazing so that is a small overview of how you can use the volumax 6 smart and i think it's pretty amazing if you want to convert your simple flat images and give them a 3d look this is the best way to do it so that is all about volume x6 smart i hope you guys enjoyed this
