today we got the ultimate suvi challenge but it's not about cooking the steaks or anything like that it's all about the method we got Nick did you run in the house Max the meat guy you must cook a sous vide steak without using sous-vide how's that possible be creative use your head it is possible and just go crazy let's begin these are Australian wagyu marbling score seven they are beautiful steaks in order to keep this test consistent all steaks are exactly the same and we're gonna keep them the same seasoning as well a good amount of salt and this is a souvenir steak we must go heavy on the seasoning remember what happened to Leah don't let that happen to you and then freshly ground black pepper a good amount as well and like my good friend Brad says don't forget to season both sides rookie move and as always like every sous vide steak the next step is to go ahead Bag It Up vacuum sealed it and that's it we got my brother Max over here here's your steak Howard do you plan on cooking this I do love rice and I have an idea oh what if I used a rice cooker I think that might work man it might get too hot but I feel like it would work it's essentially just like a pot that boils things I like it from now on we're gonna call you the rice maker man Max the rice maker man all right go on your journey let us know how it comes out take care we got my good friend Nick I'm gonna take this with me in the bathtub you go with that I'm very good with that but you got to go in only if you're coming what my wife will not approve neither of my girlfriend get out of here good luck I've already done several different ways of cooking sous vide if you have not seen that video I highly recommend however I've never done the two ways these guys are gonna do it so I'm very curious to find out if it's going to turn out good or bad and seeing Nick on a bathtub you guys tell me with that being said we must have a control like every video I do our control stick will be at 135 degrees Fahrenheit let's see if we can beat that this is my filled up bathtub the water is actually quite warm in fact I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to get in there this is my special rubber duck he's coming in with me in the steak this water is 129 degrees Fahrenheit which is exactly where I want it for my steak and just to prove to you how hot it is check this out what's up a few moments later literally 30 seconds in you can Arc starting to cook for now I'm just gonna let this thing cook sick all right it is time to cook our steak inside of the rice maker I'm pretty sure this thing goes all the way up to Boiling which is not ideal if you're trying to cook a medium rare steak again we don't want to boil it ideally it's closer to like 130 just like Google steak will that happen I'm not sure I feel bad for this steak one it's going in a rice maker too we're curling it up poor poor steak oh it's in though the one thing I am very concerned about is the amount of plastic going in our rice maker will it burn or will it sous-vide perfectly I have no Nick any tips on this rice maker here I see we just set it and forget it just didn't forget it [Music] we're gonna let this sit I don't know maybe 30 minutes we'll check back on this very soon next method quite interesting he has a dryer there and I want to see if that dryer will cook the steak we'll find out but just in case it blows up the bag we're going to wrap it up like a present I'm just gonna seal this up and we're gonna throw it in there we're gonna find out what happens it's done let's go to the dryer inside he goes and we're just gonna go ahead and choose a setting heavy duty wrinkle release okay let's check on this steak let's see how it is all right so actually it looks great the water feels perfect can you pass me my yeah thank you oh oh my God right there [Music] some people say that when you cook you want to become one with the food and I like to take that literally this thing is going to be perfect all right should be just about done let's check on it it's definitely steamy in there looks very hot didn't burn but I mean it is like not looking amazing wait is this thing freaking open oh my God guys I think the bag actually popped yo googa you got an extra underwear an extra an underwear underwear would you like this one here hold on one second oh my God that was a joke and it was a terrible joke no one of our concerns was that the bag would pop touching the metal it 100 popped burned the absolute you know what out of my hand um however now we don't need to worry about straining the liquid out because it's all on the table here okay uh the steak itself is very hard I don't know if it's going to be tender or not oh no and he also kept its shape inside I don't know if you guys can see yeah what the hell is that that's it's boiling oil literally all over are you all right I I will find out it's the fat because it wasn't a wagyu fat steak remember it was a wagonist wow Max you might just have destroyed the steak man probably the first and last time I'm allowed on this channel no not at all I could promise one thing it will never go to waste all right thank you Max I'll take over from here all right done I'm done I'm going home it's been one hour let's see what happened looks like a success to me but we won't know until I open it up let's do that right now cut out the strings oh no is it Mia that looks raw raw raw oh it was gonna work too very interesting steak from Max wow how do you feel refreshed it was good yeah it was good it's like a nap in there wow yeah all right I'll take it from here okay I took a bath with this steak yeah I know it's kind of weird all right we got all of our steaks ready here let's go ahead and open them up oh no oh and it's still hot why my bad I I can't lie it looks terrible I'm sorry that poor steak here we got the dryer this one I feel like if we ran the dryer like 20 more times it would have worked but I mean look at it maybe Nick needs another dryer here we got the bathtub it took a bath with Nick it's one lucky steak kind of floppy but it does feel tender though let's go ahead and take out the sous-vide steak oh yeah that's different so this one right here is the one that took a bath with Nick it looks like it's almost done but it's missing a little bit this one We're not gonna talk about it anymore because you know who I'm talking about still my friend though and it's still hot what can I say I got hot steaks and I think the biggest might be mine right here but again we want now there's only one thing to do I know it doesn't look at this [Music] foreign [Music] here we got our experiment how was your experience I need a bandage a bit burned right now we've learned one thing for sure do not cook a steak in a rice cooker maybe think about cooking it in the bathtub it kind of worked but you know what the hot tub would be perfect yeah a hot tub it needed a little bit extra now the dry area is quite interesting you're going to buy a new Dryer no because I'm not going to use it for a steak that makes sense and compared with a suvi steak the proof is in the pudding there are many other ways that you can successfully cook a sous vide steak let us know in the comments down below what people should try what have you tried that actually worked because there's only one thing left to do
