Christine Caine Passion Update August 11, 2018 : You Have To Save Yourself

you have the best-looking person I've seen this Sunday morning okay now turn to the person on the other side and say you are better-looking than the other person I was actually just y'all can be seated I am so excited to be here Nick and I are fired up and all the chicks are coming out for radiant conference in just cut yes it's a lot of estrogen it's gonna be in this room so nice to have some testosterone here this morning it's just great and you know we've been coming for many years we feel so woven into the fabric of this house and it's not Nick and I have been married for 22 years next month which is pretty awesome and we have been part of your journey really since the very beginning if this is your first time in church I'm you crazy Australian auntie from Down Under that's who I am but I have been part of this house from the from very early days and so we love your pastors Pastor Joe and Laurie you ought to thank God that you are planted in such a great house under such great leaders because they are are so amazing and so I am here with the single most ravishing piece of masculine flesh on planet Earth so my husband's here honey do you understand that this is Nick everyone and in case you didn't get like a good look because I wouldn't want you to miss out I think we've got a picture of him so I know he looked like a garden gnome with a beard but there you go so a cute one though that's for sure he's got it now more Austin fied which is a little bit more tapered and you know cuz you're like trendy here in Austin so that's how it is and then we have our two daughters my Katherine Bobby who is six got to be 16 in a couple of weeks and and so she's like the love of my life my firstborn and they're my second born who's a delight Sophie joys I she's like don't let that fool you that little nice like glance so I said everyone that these two girls are the Alpha and Omega the beginning in the end of my childbearing years and so I had my first 235 my second at 40 but I need to tell people that because Nick is the 12th of 13 living children his mother had 15 full-term pregnancies in 17 years and so I know all the chicks just cross their legs right there it's and and so my mother-in-law I never thought you are a woman until you popped out like number 10 so I'm like beginning and the end it's just kind of like where it happens so we we just get to do life and I want to thank you because this house has been so woven into the fabric of a 21 a 21 is 10 years old this year we've got a big celebration later on I would never have known in 2008 when we started that God would have done I mean we you know Ephesians 3:20 man if you don't believe in God I'm hoping by the end of this service you'll at least open up your heart to it because I'm living proof that you know we're not making this stuff up the God is real and I'm the kid that was left in a hospital unnamed and unwanted when I was born on the kid that was sexually abused for 12 years grew up in the the third poorest ZIP code in my whole nation the poorest ZIP code in my state in a Australia pre multicultural Australia where you know migrants were very marginalized at that time if you've seen my Big Fat Greek Wedding that is my big fat Greek life and so like literally the whole deal and you know so I grew up in a culture at the time where where we were not kind of celebrated in a you know a culture a Greek Orthodox culture where women were certainly not encouraged to fulfill their destiny or their purpose and to rise up and do anything awesome for God very very marginalized because of my ethnicity where I grew up my socio-economic back everyone I fit every government funding category in Australia I'm a poor marginalized oppressed dispossessed ethnic abused adopted chick I could make a fortune on government funding because what they do is they fund people like me and they say here's a label you can be a victim but I read the book and my Bible says he's redeem my life from the pit that we are more more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus and Jesus is able to raise you up and do something awesome with your life so not only did Jesus rescue me from a background of brokenness but by His grace he now uses us through the work of 8:21 to rescue others that is what being more than a conqueror is that's the truth of the gospel that he doesn't just pull you out of the pit but he catapults you into your destiny and you know every time we put a trafficker in jail every time we rescue a woman or child or or a man I think devil you could stick that in your pipe and smoke it and I feel like Joseph when he was looking at his brothers in Genesis chapter 50 verse 20 and he said you meant this for evil against me but God he meant it for this very purpose to save many people alive God will redeem every part of your broken past and give you a future and I hope there is not one wasted hurt in the kingdom there's not one wasted suffering that he Romans 8:28 says that God our God is able to work all things together for good that doesn't mean everything that happens is good we live in a fallen world bad things happen to good people but God can even take the fragments and the the brokenness of the bad stuff and weave it together for your good and his glory and I am living proof of that all that to say this has been our best year in a 21 years so 10 years 14 offices 12 countries around the world like literally so many you know thousands of women and children rescued and and hundreds of traffickers prosecuted but this is what I'm very excited about just in January has been our biggest month ever 25 people were rescued and check this out the largest trafficker in Greece who we've been going after for 10 years owns half the brothels in Thessaloniki I mean just just the perpetrator of so much evil but four weeks ago I think it was three and a half weeks ago finally we got to put him away 25 years thousand euro fine it was like yes you know I got so fired up and and then Nick and I were invited in December I'm telling you all this because you so this is where your missions giving is going so it's very important that you you know that you know your and your house is a good steward of your giving and Nick and I had the opportunity we got an email and found out that a 21 was the recipient of the Mother Teresa award for social justice in I know it was like I couldn't believe it because they like check this out like last year it was Malala and the year before it was the Dalai Lama I'm like that's awesome and then there was the white helmets and Doctors Without Borders so to have a 21 and that's kind of me and my Indian garb and the only one smiling is me I don't know what that's all about but anyway I'm like I like and that gentleman that awesome gentleman that gave me that gave us the award is Gandhi's great-grandson and I'm like thinking I'm in a movie I just want to pull out my phone and go would it be appropriate to take a selfie you know like I'm late how many times do you stand next to Gandhi's great grandsons so it was awesome and so I'm believing that we've already started 2018 coming out of the gate by the grace of God just seeing more people rescue than ever more traffic as prosecutor than ever and I am believing that together as we continue to fight this we will abolish slavery everywhere forever that is our heartbeat and I am fired up so thank you because you are a huge part of that we're gonna turn right into the word today I'm both Greek and a woman if this is your first time in church and you're like oh okay so what is all this you still hungover you still don't even know your friend just lied to you and said let's go to another nightclub you like what is this a Monty Python show who is this chick up there strap yourself in on both Greek and a woman are only speak three ways hard fast and continuously so you will not fall asleep this morning that is for sure and I love you because you are the most spiritual services celebration church you know I started last night the five o'clock I think it's five was a six or five I don't even know I'm guessing okay so five o'clock and then I had the 9:30 this morning and now we've got the most spiritual service the 11:30 service because you know with God things go from faith to faith from grace to grace and from glory to glory so last night started good and it got gooder at 9:30 but it is the goodest at 11:30 this is the most holy holy congregation at celebration church so we need to go to the book of Genesis I thought it's awesome because this is the 11:30 and you got nowhere to go so if I just start in Genesis and read really fast we can get through 66 books and be at revelation by by dinnertime so don't don't panic we're gonna get there so Genesis if this is your first time in church we're so glad that you're here and we always look to the Word of God and when we come together we gather around his word we believe this word is real we believe this word changes lives so dive in with us I hope to make it as accessible to you as possible today so Genesis we'll just go to verse 2 chapter 2 verse 25 I want to just start the very last verse of chapter 2 then read into chapter 3 and hopefully tie this together and land this plane sometime before lunch so don't freak out you will get there everyone put your hand on your belly I want you to say this gladder I bind you in Jesus you will be okay we'll go there Genesis chapter 2 verse 25 and the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed I want you to just take note and were not ashamed of those words scripture goes on and says now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made he said to the woman did God actually say you shall not eat of any tree of the garden and the woman said to the serpent we may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden but God said you shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden neither shall you touch it lest you die but the serpent said to the woman you will not surely die for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be open and you will be like God knowing good and evil so when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and then the tree was to be desired to make one wise she took of its fruit and ate and she also gave something to her husband who was with her and he ate and then the eyes of both were open and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin cloths and they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord among the trees of the garden but the Lord God called to the man and said to him where are you and he said I heard the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked and I hid myself of you if this is your first time in church you're like awesome and there's so many naked people running around this is I should have come to church earlier ok so and he says I was naked and I hid myself he said who told you that you were naked have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat the man said the woman something's just done changed but that's okay the woman whom you gave to be with me so we don't know blame the woman we blame God the woman whom you gave to be with me you wanted where victimhood and blame mentality came in right here in the garden sweetheart it's not new the woman have you going to be with me she gave me the fruit of the tree and I ate then the Lord God said to the woman what is this that you have done she now blames the woman said the serpent deceived me and I ate and off we go there's the beginning of victim culture right there and so it starts in the Garden of Eden it's interesting we picked up the text at Genesis chapter 2 verse 25 when God wants us to know Genesis chapter 1 God created mankind in His image he made them Genesis 1:27 28 says male and female Genesis chapter 2 he makes the man Adam and the woman Eve and then Genesis chapter 3 we come into the false so there's all our origins right there in the first three chapters of scripture but it's interesting to know that in Genesis 2:25 just before we step into Genesis 3 the last thing God wants us to know is that Adam and Eve were naked and they knew no shame Adam and Eve were naked and they were unashamed isn't it interesting that God doesn't say that they were fearful or they were not angry or that they were not joyful of all the human emotions God wants us to know right there in Holy Writ right here that I made you to not know one thing I made you and I created you to not know what one thing felt like I made you to not know what shame felt like any I was the devil it's contrary to what some people may think I'm not just so dare to clarify over here and I wanted to take out the only thing that is created in the image of God which is humanity which is humankind which is us who God so loved if I wanted to take them I would want to put on them the one thing that God created them to never know I would want to put on them the burden of shame the weight of shame so that I could render them ineffective and ensure that they don't flourish in the way God wants them to flourish as they become debilitated by shame we see its origins in the fall in Genesis 3 and it is no different in the year 2018 the enemy's modus operandi has always been shame shame has been the one thing in my life that I have never known what it's like not to feel like I cannot remember a time whether it was because of abuse or abandonment or adoption or rejection or marginalization or whatever it might be there is not a person on the earth where somewhere along the line hasn't known what it feels like to be shamed the New York Times ran an a page report on this being called the shaming culture and the internet is good for many things but the one thing it does give license to is a heck of a lot of shaming out there people calling people out people just shaming one another publicly so much of our reality television programs are based on shaming so much of what has happened and rendered so many people ineffective is that some teacher said somewhere along the line you you're dumb you're stupid you'll never amount to anything my my third-grade teacher wrote on my report card Christine is a good student but she has to learn that she can't always be the leader and it must I remember reading that on the way home as a kid a nine-year-old kid devastated because that teacher didn't know that I was being abused at home and that schools my only outlet and I remember making a decision then I'm never gonna put my hand up again I'm not gonna go and you know stand out for anything and it must have worked because at the end of the year report it said Christine is a good student she has settled down very nicely because that's what the enemy always wants to do just settle down minimize be less then pull back and you will find that the enemy will try to shame you in the area that God wants to use you somewhere in your future the enemy will always try so today Iran our global women's prepare women and all in in 45 countries around the world helping women to fulfill that god-given purpose and destiny I lead a nanny trafficking organization in 12 countries around the world do you think that the enemy was trying to shame me at 9 years old so that I wouldn't fulfill what God wanted me to do in my future do you think the abuse happened to try to pull me back from what God had for me because in my future God had us rescuing the victims of trafficking and abuse victims from around the world but see the enemy will always try to shame you God can't use you the very thing God wanted to use is the very thing that the enemy said God wouldn't use you I'd sit in crowds like this and think I want to do so much for God but if they only knew what happened to me if they only knew that I was abused if they only knew how much I've messed up in my life because sometimes we shame ourselves more than the devil ever shames us because we think I've done too much God can't use me I've blown it I've messed up man I did that of my own volition or some teacher said you're dumb you're stupid I remember the first time I spoke in my Bible School Chapel this particular Dean of the Bible school didn't wasn't really into women in ministry and so I remember after I gave my talk and it was God did some amazing things but he stood up and just shame in front of the whole college and said Christine carry awfulest it was before I was married so that was my name carry office after that attempt you never preached publicly nobody would ever invite you to their church do you know that just crushed me but God gave me the strength and today he's dead and I'm here but anyway that's not that that's that is the fact but what I'm trying to say to you is that the enemy will always try to come to that area and so what happens is men be a parent says you didn't measure up and you grew up with a parent shame you shame on you shame on you how many kids here shame on you you should be ashamed of yourself some of you are CEOs trying to prove something to a father that's no longer alive because he puts so much on you and you felt like I've got to live up to this so I'll prove to them some of us are trying to prove things to people that don't care some of us are trying to prove things to ex-spouses that have been married twice since and don't even remember who we are but we're trying to prove it because that's what shame does when I first started to be abused I remember thinking what they're doing to me is wrong but when it happens for such a long period of time you start thinking so there's something wrong with me that's why it's happening it goes from it's wrong to I'm wrong and that's the root of it and that's the difference between shame and guilt it's the difference between your who and your do guilt says I did something wrong and our culture needs a little bit more of that just incidentally a little bit of healthy guilt never hurt anyone it's God's kindness that leads us to repentance but if you don't think you've ever got anything to repent from then you are undermining the character of God just saying you're not really kind but that's another sermon so some of you will get that at lunchtime is that what she was talking about okay so over here the fact is guilt says I did something wrong and the good news is the good news is there is nothing that you and I have done wrong that God cannot forgive the Bible says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness I don't some of you are sitting in this room going Chris you think so you don't know who I was in bed with last night you don't know what I was snorting last night you got you're absolutely right I got zero clue what you were doing but I'm so less interested in what you were doing because I know what he did 2,000 years ago and when he died on the cross and rose again he cleansed us from all unrighteousness and that would all in the Greek Hebrew and Aramaic guess what it means oh oh so a whole lot of us disqualify ourselves from something God's never disqualified us from because of shame because of shame and so the devil started right there knowing Adam and Eve were naked and were unashamed our colleges are full of a shaming culture ever heard of the walk of I know you've never heard of it here in Austin Texas just every other college everywhere around the world but the fact is lets shame people it's shame people and I've come here this morning and I'm coming after shame because where the devil has declared and decreed shame on you I've come here this morning on assignment to declare shame off you in Jesus name we're gonna see people set free today we're gonna see people liberated today bondage and shackles break off people's lives because some way you got stuck and stopped flourishing and thriving in your relationship with Christ because of shame someone and you don't have to have a background like mine to have experienced shame it is amazing where it creeps in so the Bible says the enemy came into the garden and he was more crafty than any other created thing and the reason he was crafty is because he went after the woman with words see this power of life and death in our tongues words are very important when he wanted to bring down humanity he used words why because in Genesis chapter 1 nothing existed until God said it and then God said it and then it was there is power in your words you frame your world with the words that you speak what words are you using so the enemy said to the woman we're gonna quickly go through three questions in this one text because these three questions are as pertinent in 2018 as they were in the Garden of Eden this is the question for this generation the same question the first question we see in scripture that the enemy says to humankind is the same question that is on the table in 28:18 he comes into the garden and he says to the woman did God really say that is the question for the church in 2018 did God really say did he really say is that what he said about the world is that what he said about you is that what he said about Society did God and let me tell you something if you don't know what God really said you will believe what the devil says you will believe what a teacher said you will believe what the media says you will believe what everyone else says there is nothing more important than knowing what God really says the Bible says in John chapter 8 if you abide in my word you will know the truth and the truth will but listen to me it's not the truth that you don't know that will set you free it's only the truth that you know that will set you free and so there is an assault on the word of God there's an assault on the integrity of the Word of God because the enemy wants to underman to God really say did God really say she turns around she says God God did say God did say that we're not supposed to eat from that tree so here's the deal you can have done 100 Bible studies you can quote the word memorize books of the Bible you can come to church every Sunday and you can say God did say but if you don't do what God did say you can't have what God says you can have and so she quoted the Word of God back to the devil here's your first point if you're gonna go home with nothing else take this point home don't enter into a conversation with the enemy just talk to the hand and so the point is when you get into that kind of dialogue you can quote back the Word of God but if you don't do it you're not gonna walk in the fullness of the promise of the word of God God did say but I'm not gonna do it cuz the enemy says to her I love this he under my wouldn't love it but this is the point he undermines the character of God right at this point she goes if we eat God said if we eat of this fruit the fruit of this tree will die and the enemy turns around and here is his subtle lie that he still says to our generation oh you will not surely die he's just undermine the character of God no you won't die just if you do the opposite of what the Bible says it's not gonna hurt you lying cheating stealing immorality whatever it might be you won't die you can flirt with the stuff it won't destroy you have you looked at the state of the world lately anyone it's slightly cray-cray I know you will surely die but the enemy wants to go no no did God really say let's undermine the authority of God's Word and when you do the antithesis to what God says don't worry about it it's not gonna have any effect no effect on society no effect on your family no effect on your personal life don't worry you will not surely die and she chose to elevate the voice of the enemy above the voice of her God once you put other words and elevate them above God's word the downward spiral begins so the enemy says you will not surely died here it is because God knows you're gonna become like him the root of all sin is idolatry it's that I become God what I think is more important what my opinion is is really important what I feel is more important than what God says we live in a culture where what we feel is more important than what God says and I'm telling you when you don't have an external standard of truth and you become truth or I become truth god help us all god help us all everyone does right what's right in their own eyes and we end up where we're ended up and so he says God doesn't want you to be like him God knows if you eat this fruit you will be like God here is the line go and live your life your own way acquire what you want unless what you want accumulate what you want get your identity from yourself not from your Creator do whatever you want because I'm telling you deep down God really is some kind of metal maniac and he doesn't want you to be like him if you do all this other stuff God knows you're gonna be like him here's the deal the enemy wanted to take her off track to do the antithesis to what God had told her to done to do so that she would become like God but the point is she already was the devil's gonna try to make you do stuff that is antithetical to the will of God and the commandments of God so that you can become who you already are but if you already know who you are you don't need to do the opposite to become that because you know who you are this is why it's so important that we know who we are in Christ I certainly don't prescribe to a theology that says all you're just a worm you're never gonna amount to anything oh you're just a worm what is that all about we are not we are sons and daughters of the king I don't know look maybe in America you were schooled in the same school system that we were in Australia and this is what people have forgotten with who they are we were schooled in a system and you have to be very very educated to believe this you have to have gone through a lot of education have a lot of letters after your name but this is what they've essentially told us many many moons ago in the eternal nothing of the nothing - nothing's came together and went bang and there it was your great-grandfather the cockroach and the cockroach just crawled around the world for a little while it had a genetic mutation where bang and there it was the Frog and then the Frog hopped around the world for a little while he'd had a genetic mutation he went bang and there it was the ape and the ape was walking around Georgetown on a really really hot summer's day and it went into the hairdresser and had a cut shave and blow-dry and here we are today and so essentially what they have told the whole generation is that you came from nothing you live for no reason and you're going nowhere now if you believe for long enough that you came from nothing you live for no reason and you're going nowhere don't be surprised when we have a world where people are acting like they came from nothing they live for no reason then they're going nowhere but I've got some really good news for you this morning friends you did not come from nothing you were created in the image of Almighty God you are filled with god-given destiny you are filled with god-given potential God has placed his spirit on the inside of you we are destined to do amazing things for the purposes of God in our generation when you know who you are you don't act like who you're not when you know who you are you know what obedience to God it helps you flourish in life it's not like some legalistic trap obedience is not legalism obedience is freedom to obey is better than sacrifice because you flourish in life God made us and he knows how we work best and he has given us the keys to abundant living through his word but you have to obey them that was the what Eve didn't do God said she knew them but she didn't do it so there is a connection between the blessing and the promise and obedience to walk in that and so the enemy says did God really say Adam and eat eat of the fruit of the tree and then the scripture tells us that they both realized that they were naked and so they ran away to hide and they made little fig leaves for themselves they ran away to hide this is what happens to us when we blow it and we realize it so often we run from God instead of to God instead of running into his compassionate and merciful and gracious herbs there is nothing that we've done that could separate us from the love of Jesus the love of God that's in Christ Jesus nothing and yet so many of us we come to church every week and we're hidden in plain sight because actually we're hiding from God we don't lift our arms in worship we don't see it because we don't feel worthy because we think you don't know what I was doing you don't know where I've been you don't know what's happened and we feel so unworthy and that's the enemy to keep you from the presence of God we feel so unworthy to step out and begin serving and begin flourishing in our gifts because we think Who am I Who am I well who are you not to your created in the image of God but the enemy has whispered into your ear your contributions useless your gifts are not of any value besides that he's going to remind you of something you said or did ten years ago something that God's already forgotten because you've confessed your sin and the Bible says he's cast it from as far as the East is from the West and he remembers that no more but you do and it holds you back from what God has for you so they went into hiding and here's the deal God walks into the garden this is we see now the first mention of God walking into the garden we would imagine this is something that he's done frequently while he's been with Adam and Eve probably the highlight of his day coming and hanging out with his creation but this time he walks in the garden and Adam and Eve are in hiding they've run from him not to him and here is the first question we see in Scripture God's speaking to us created in His image here is the first question and I think in many churches on most Sundays God's asking the same question where are you where are you where is the you that I created where did you go where are you and Adam answers first recorded conversation from man to God I was naked and afraid and so I hid fear shame hiding first conversation and it's so in so many of our conversations with God even now you could have been walking with the Lord for twenty years and some of us our conversation with him is still full of fear shame and hiding fear shame and hiding I was naked and afraid and so I hid that's what the enemy wants a generation of Christians to go into hiding hiding and then God and I think this is one of the saddest questions in the Bible the Lord looks and says who told you who told you and I've come to celebration church this morning to ask you the same question who told you who told you that you can't who told you that you're unworthy who told you that your dumb was stupid why didn't you carry on any further ado told you that you can't amount who told you they wish you were never born who told you where did you believe the lie that got you stuck where did you believe the lie that stopped you from propelling into you god-given purpose where did you believe the lie that you were unworthy not good enough not smart enough not educated enough not talented enough not eloquent because that's all we think if I was just smarter if I was just better if I was just prettier if I was just richer so we spend our life thinking if I was just her I would be better then we get there and we go but I'm not the richest I'm not the fittest I'm not the smartest so we waste this one and only vapor called life wishing we were Oh Oreste and God says I put my spirit on the inside of you you have everything in your pertaining to life and godliness greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world you are a son and a daughter of the Living God you are a Chosen People a royal priesthood you are all inside of you in him we have an are all we need that's why to build your identity on anything outside of Christ is so secondary and will minimize the potential that you have so we build our identity first and foremost on who we are in Christ there's a fight for identity in the world if we just understood our primary identity is in Christ and that we have everything pertaining to life and godliness in him who told you the best way I can answer this question as I wrap up is um my daughter Katherine you saw her in that photo she's awesome and both my kids since they were born my husband and I were very committed to the power of words and so we have always spoken and very much controlled their environment of the things that they're hearing because I do believe there's life and death in the power of the tongue and so I've always said over my kids so Katherine my firstborn Katherine Bobby you are the head and not the tail you are above only and not beneath you're a leader and not a follower you're a woman of God you're a woman of Prayer you're a Holy Ghost terrorist you love the house of God and you're gonna grow up one day and you're gonna marry a very very very wealthy Christian man and so I'm thinking like just put it out there you know that's awesome I didn't have my second till 40 I'm gonna be a hundred and fifty at their 21st so I need rich son in laws okay so that's it so if you know anyone I believe in arranged marriages I'm Greek but you know and I like you Texans a lot so we would do it would be awesome so I've said and her daddy has always spoken over her life always said to her katharine barbour you are intelligent you are capable you are courageous you are strong you could do anything God has called you to do you can be anything God's called you to be and you are beautiful and your daddy's princess and he'll always put more often than not the beautiful at the end so that she knows first and foremost that's not her primary identity you're intelligent you're capable you're strong you're able you could do what God has called you to do and you're beautiful and you're daddy's princess she has heard those words every day pretty much of her life I doubt there would be many that she has it well you know when she went to school how many know that the school environment is not quite like this environment okay so she gets into the school world and I went to pick her up after school one day and the teacher Tom it is said Chris you should have seen this your daughter there was a little fight at lunchtime and one of the little boys wanted Katherine's teddy bear her stuff her stuff toy so the little boy went up to her at lunchtime ripped the teddy bear out of her arms and looked at her and said Catherine Bobby you are dumb and you are ugly and the teacher said Christine you should have seen your daughter she just locked her eyes on this kid she put her shoulders back and I'm honestly honestly I thought the teacher is gonna say and she King hit him I was yes yes that is my kid she would have got extra Christmas presents that year if that was the case and I love you Texans because you're like yes okay so I live in California they're like you know and I'm like whatever Texas okay so even austin who's more like California but still okay so she said to me she put her shoulders back she looks at this kid in the eye and she said no I'm not I'm not dumb and I'm not ugly my daddy says that I am intelligent and I am beautiful and why am I telling you this church because my kid at five year old had a revelation that saved two decades of living in shame a revelation I didn't have so when they told me you're dumb and ugly I believe that when they told me that I'm not worthy I may rub decades of my life but my daughter you at five years old what her daddy said so we need a generation of Christians that know what our father says so that when the enemy comes and sets his assignment and he says you're condemned then you're guilty that you're unworthy you say no not today devil my daddy says the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus there is damnation my daddy says Jesus did God really say we better know what our daddy says the enemy will always try to undermine what your father has said and that comes a day where you've got to make what God said bigger than what they said to you what they said about you or what they did to you your value your identity does not rest on what happened to you what they did to you what you did it based on who God says we are friend I wonder if you know this God that I'm talking about right where you're standing right now not do you know about him but do you know him and if you don't friend right here right now I want to give you the opportunity to address the spiritual condition of your heart the opportunity to put Jesus Christ first in your life he loves you so much he loves you so much friend only Jesus Christ can give us forgiveness for our past a brand new start today and a hope for the future friend you and I we were created by God for a relationship with God and it's Jesus that connects us to God and it's Jesus that connects us to the grace of God for a none living proof I'm the kid that was left in a hospital unnamed and unwanted I'm the kid that was abused for the twelve years of my life I should have been a statistic women like me don't often end up doing this they often end up either drug dependent or alcohol dependent maybe two or three different kids to two or three different fathers all confused about their gender identity that often happens to somebody with my kind of background but I am living proof that you can with Jesus Christ you can start bad and you can finish good that there is a life beyond your past there is a whole there is a purpose there is a destiny it is through your relationship with Jesus and the same Jesus that stepped into my life friend washed away the sin of my past gave me a brand new start and a hope for the future that same Jesus is in this room this morning right here right now ready and willing to do the same for you friend there's only three different types of people in this room there are those of us that are absolutely certain that we've made our peace with God that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our life I'm not speaking to those people right now I'm speaking to the other two categories those of you that you came in here today and this might be your first time in church but if you're honest you've never known this God for yourself maybe you didn't even know that there was a God in heaven that loves you that has a plan and a purpose and a destiny for your life friend I want to introduce you to that God this morning his name is Jesus you're not here by accident you're here in the divine timing the divine plan and the divine purpose of God he's orchestrated everything in only the way he could that he would bring a chick from Sydney Australia here to Austin Texas to orchestrate the events of your life that somehow you don't even know why you said yes but you like I'm in church and the roof didn't fall in I don't know how that happened but I'm here God's done he loves you so much or perhaps you once walked with God but if you're honest today you've been away from him cold in your heart maybe even back sleep friend today I want to invite you to stop running from me and come back to him make your peace with him put Jesus Christ first in your life maybe all you've ever known is religion you could quote the Bible I gave did you can quote Sunday School classes but the truth is you have never personally encountered Jesus Christ today as you're listening to me you're like I don't know what she's got but I haven't I don't know that God that she's talking about friend right here I want to give you the opportunity to step over the line from religion to relationship an authentic relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ who loves you so desperately much pranaam on every head bowed every eye closed from the front to the back from the left to the right friend wherever you are right in this moment friend I'm not speaking to the person next to you I'm speaking to you and if you say to me this morning Chris I want what you're talking about I want a fresh start with Jesus Christ either for the very first time or I've been away from God cold in my heart but I want a fresh start with Jesus this morning then let me pray for you just a very simple but powerful prayer if you say Chris include me in that prayer I want a fresh start with Jesus would you just raise your hand right now so that I know who I'm praying for I could see so many hands every single section of this room look at this this is awesome so many of you I'm looking all over this place hands are still going up beautiful [Music] so many hairs keep him going up all across this room I can see you right back to the back row every section of the auditorium so many hands raised to Jesus I love this spirit of God the holy spirits in this house [Music] you know I'm seeing [Music] there are dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of hands race this is what I'm gonna ask you to do I just feel strongly in the final seconds so many of you got your hands raised I said I wanted to pray with you now there's way too many for me to individually jump through every seat and pray with you but I do want to pray with you and this is what I'm gonna ask all of you with your hands raised or even if you didn't raise your hand but you should have I'm gonna ask you right now just in a moment you could look at me to step out of your seat in a moment of come and walk down here and face me so I could pray with you you might think wow what do you mean just just say excuse me to the person next to you and if you're in the middle of the row if they don't move just kick them don't worry about it just come but you're gonna think Cristina raise my arm what are people gonna think if I walk forward I'll tell you what we're gonna think that you are a champion that you are a winner that you are absolutely awesome is what I want you to do if you raise your hand or even if you didn't but you know that you should have what you just come out of your seat wherever you are right now and come and stand here would you make room for people to come and say yes to Jesus this morning I just sense something powerful is gonna break as people step out of this seat friend don't worry about what the person next to you thinks it's about what God thinks as you take a step towards Jesus right now there is something powerful that different people are coming to Jesus there's nothing nothing more powerful than people say yes to Jesus Christ come friend come come to Jesus this is beautiful come how beautiful is this stunning come friend come but I mind a holy ghost traffic jam at all to course here I'm just gonna give you ten more seconds and this is how you know there's a sense and sometimes should go why why are people walking forward you're not doing this for me you're doing this for you sometimes there's something powerful about saying you know what I don't even care what anybody around me thinks in this moment all I care about is what God thinks and I am walking down that aisle to say goodbye to my old life and yes I'm gonna be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ in it's going to be so there's just three more people and you need to be out here this is how you know your heart is beating and you're saying to yourself I wish that chick would shut up that's what you say you really are in however you might be putting other words in that as well and the reason I'm not and you go man there's thousands of people and hundreds out here is because you're not just a number in a crowd god god that's God knocking on the door of your heart and he's saying you're gonna let me in and this is your choice that you get to stand there and I wish I could be more spiritual for you go Chris how do you know it's because I do this nearly every day of my life and this is how I know I get this clunk I know that sounds real spiritual but clunk means I feel that God's done in this moment and when I don't have that clunk I just linger for a few more minutes to go you three are very important to God at least three it could be more but at least through you're so important to God and if you don't come that really messes up my night because then I can't sleep because I'm thinking about you the whole time so it would be really helpful if you would just be obedient to God and say yes so all I'm gonna do is just count to 10 there's no drama and if you're one of those I just want you to walk where you are and God is gonna meet you in such a powerful way and I say that boldly because I know that it is so one two three for thank you thank you thank you yes yeah look at this beautiful look at this seven eight and can we thank God for all these people come on how many nerve well in Jesus name I'm gonna pray a prayer and I want us all to pray this everyone standing out there in faith with all of these people here this is gonna be a defining moment sometimes there's something powerful about coming and kneeling and standing and saying yes to Jesus he sees each and every one of you each and every one of you and I'm telling you this is a defining Sunday in your life so Church let's bow our heads right now do Jesus I'm standing here today because I recognize my need for you I'm sorry that I've been living my own life and ignoring you I'm sorry that I've sinned against you and this morning I ask that you would forgive me for all of my sins that you would give me a fresh start today and a hope for the future I want to be a Christian a follower of Jesus Christ every single day for the rest of my life in Jesus name Amen amen come on can we thank God for people say yes to Jesus how beautiful is this come on church where's one of the Costas do they go to a connectors before I throw to the video could you tell all they want to do okay so we want to make sure that you don't leave here without some about telling someone about the decision that you've made so if you'll go out following the him better and to maybe understand what the next step is but we're more important than we have people that want to connect with you who want to meet you and walk this journey out with you and so we and pick up that book it will be the most effective way for us to help you take those next steps Church you know I talked about shame and just before we wrap up the service I want to pray a prayer of faith because I know lingering in the heart of so many I want to leave you with the question that Jesus asked Adam who told you because I've come here today because I'm believing God that's many many many of you are gonna get unstuck because you believed a lie somewhere and it's affected you relationally emotionally spiritually financially somewhere you believed a lie and I'm gonna pray a prayer of faith to break the power of shame and the power of that lie over your life today we didn't come just to do church today we came to be different we came to meet with God and when Jesus is in the house chains and shackles for because Jesus is here now his son that earlier wasn't just a good song he's here now so fear boughs and chains and shackles are broken and so I want you to close your eyes wherever you are and if in your heart you know the Holy Spirit maybe you just remembered wow I had forgotten that that teacher said there but I let that shake me I forgot that my parents said that and that shamed me man that person at work they made that offhanded comment but that got into my spirit someone at church said this and I let it and somewhere you believed a lie and it could have hit you any area and today you want to be set free if that's you in any area that's between you and God I don't know what the area is is between you and God but I'm gonna pray a prayer of faith over your life and if you want that freedom I just want you to raise your hands to heaven as a sign of surrender to God saying that I'm surrendering this area to you in Jesus name so father you see all of these hands everyone represents a life and a destiny and father in the name of Jesus Christ I stand before my brothers and sisters this morning and I reverse and curse the lie of the enemy in Jesus name I break the power of that stronghold father that's taken word in their minds in the name of Jesus Christ and I speak life and I speak Liberty father in in Jesus name let the lie be replaced by the truth of the word of God let it no longer have any control over their lives in Jesus name father let there be Liberty with the enemy has spoken shame on you this morning father we declare and decree shame of you in Jesus name in Jesus name come on if you believe it why don't you give the Holy Ghost you Jesus the evasion in this place from freed of the cassette us rate freedom
