Changing Expressions with MIDJOURNEY

so in today's video I'll run through how to change the emotion of your mid-journey character whilst keeping consistency some people have mentioned that mid-jinny sometimes struggles with the change of expression so I've come up with a solution I'm going to use this model sheet as reference for my journey to generate the same character but with a happy expression I'll first show that mid-journey will not generate a happy expression without the reference it needs and then show you a way around this to start with I'm just adding all the reference images to the mid Journey prompt you can see my tutorial on this method to prompt in for consistent characters by clicking in the top right so here's an example of what happens if you generate characters with a prompt for happy expression with only angry Expressions as a reference now continue to show you the fix for this but just as a heads up there is going to be some basic Photoshop work uh you don't need to be a professional illustrator but very basic Photoshop skills are necessary in Photoshop I'm just using the warp tool and the brush tool to roughly change the expression of the face it doesn't even have to be that good it's just for mid-journey to have reference to the positioning of the expression I'm now just placing the same expression on every face of the character and then taking it through to Mid Journey [Music] and now just copying the links from the uploads and adding each one to the prompt so when I prompt for a happy expression this time using words like cheerful and smiling you can get something like this still does need a little bit of Photoshop work to get the characters to look 100 consistent I've made small adjustments such as changing the color of the trousers enlarging the eyes and copying the T-shirt over if you have any questions just post them in the comments and if you like the video drop us a like or subscribe and see you next time I love you
