the fighter going against the warrior Tom Hardy my god was he good in this how did you guys just develop the fight scenes you're both wearing these crazy masks probably not hear each other and I was just you know watching it was brilliant it was it could be a little tricky sometimes to hear and hear each other and we worked out little sore signals for each other but Tom's a really wonderful actor and he was always able to convey so much despite having you know so much of his face being covered and you know Chris costs very very well and there's so many amazing people in the cast as well was there anyone in particular you weren't you're most looking forward to meeting everyone yeah I mean just everyone my first my first day that I was sitting in but I was sitting in between Christian and Tom I'm just like oh my gosh these guys they're just like talent sandwich right here and they they're I mean like they're - the best actors of their generation that could possibly to be to the best actors of all time and I'm like what are we gonna talk about like what because we're about politics for world events are we going to talk about like the method or what's gonna happen and be talking about Angry Birds I really yeah and they were telling because I've never played it and I was asking and so they started talking about that they liked the game and I thought well maybe I should try it um so it was just in spite of the fact that these are some of the most brilliant actors ever they're also very normal people so it was really lovely to just hear about their lives and get to know them um we have the picture of you here eyes banging who's a kind of that's a awesome picture why they're that kind of sums it up and what's going on with his face so people don't know what's happened to his face why does he wear that thing who may know the bloke who's sitting over there you know um you are him in why is he wearing on his foot it's goulash out the big breakfast to be oh yes yes yes like really you torn it with it but I'm not angry it's different you think your pasta across this detached Coulee good laugh Jenna main bar Jonathan that was something [Music] that former other why don't you really hurt that don't be her you're a bigger person in that I'm not it's done today that's enough now some pictures of the guests on the show this they won him I've got one of Tom Hardy a phony Tom check yourself okay cue and now Kira as I tell every face she even when you squish it all up and lose bits of it she still looks great look pretty and this one if you do it in a certain way look Cheryl Cole [Applause] yes check that out for this one this is a look I think I might go out there the state and see if I have some work done and look like this because this takes years off me Tom party what can I say babe look Tom I saw on British television I've never heard of him and he came on on British television if he's like a cop me gang stir in the area that I come from so I knew what was right and what was wrong and he was the toughest gangster I had never seen on British television or anyway including me I played a couple of gangsters he made me look like Mary Poppins and he was a toughest guy and then you meet him in he's a sweetheart he is very poppy always the way they'll know our disguise and the movies were always the softest echizen-ya this is touching yeah yeah and he's a wonderful actor and a lovely car he's cracking although I don't know anybody that would beat you in kid Carter I'll get caught Justin we've been taking questions from the fans online in preparation for tonight and a Joanie on tumblr asked how you would characterize your relationship and rapport with Tom Hardy after working with him on Chris - Chris know labelled tom is such a badass I think he's one of the greatest actors alive so much power and he kills this performance it's so good and I can't wait for people to see it and see Bronson if you haven't seen Bronson that's one of his earlier movies yeah I really recommend checking that out he's amazing in it it's now time for leading actress and to do the presenting a wonderful actor you'll have salivated over in such as Inception Bronson Dark Knight Rises and of whom it's been said Wow we yay and good gracious he's a genuine heartthrob a man so handsome with Mike Lee relieved he hasn't followed in the current trend and turned up with a bag on his head please welcome Tom Hardy [Music] [Applause] [Applause] thank you when you put your hand on Anne Hathaway's breast is that something that you discussed beforehand or is that rehearsed I should have told her about it cuz there's the thing like you probably know it's like actors etiquette like oh really so tell us yeah okay if you have to kiss somebody like you have a breath mint mm-hmm and you don't eat like fish for lunch right that kind of thing and if you're gonna touch somebody inappropriately yeah tell them before the take mm-hm I said all right if I do this to you mm-hmm but I forgot in that uh I deliberately forgot I've done it before do you know Tom Hardy of course yeah yeah movies in America which I actually was caught out of oh it was called This Means War with Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon okay and on my first day on set the director said when you enter the scene I want you to just stick your finger up Tom Hardy's but if I really just really like just surprise him was this Steven Spielberg and so I was to Jeannie I didn't know like you shouldn't do that mm-hmm so I just do that and had a Tommy young gave a really realistic shocked expression mm-hmm and then he like didn't really talk to me sing for an audience or meet the president probably more nervous to sing for an audience for chocolate flowers or jewelry and Valentine's Day how about all why do I have to do let's go watch yourself on the big screen or you know if you paid me I would pay you to watch me on the big screen you have I have Tom Hardy's Chuck or Tom Hardy's FDR I didn't realize you played both characters Rhetta FDR has these tiny like girl hands like t-rex half I don't know Marquess and tuck is British what is that supposed Tom's got that also he's got thick Europe in these British she's got the sexy accent the lips all of it he's a very charismatic man I dislike very much for all of it talk this is my friends FDR FDR this is sad I just love me to mean you loving me I love Tom Hardy he's beautiful he's an actor he's just what was the movies Reese Witherspoon he was really cute and shirtless but that was not the reason why I like him I like him for his art please everyone should know that I I know that tom was nervous the beginning I think this is perhaps the largest screen role that he's had and it's much as that it's a large role that he has to carry the weight of the antagonist in a Star Trek movie major scene as a dialogue with complex emotions he's a young man really extraordinary ability and personality I felt as I would it anywhere with any actor any younger actor I felt that it was absolutely essential to try to create along with Stewart on the set the atmosphere the best atmosphere in which he could be relaxed and do his best work off the said it was another matter I never socialized with Tom even though months in filming this I felt that keeping some distance between us was proper if you don't know that much about Tom and I didn't want to I wanted our life to be a life in front of the camera and of course apart from the small talk of sitting around waiting to work out which even then there was very very little I wanted if there was an edge in the relationship I wanted it to be visible when the camera rolled and so to that extent I think we we both of us were cautious of the other one let's talk about your character then who is more than handsome Bob mumbles is I I mumble in Hansel Bauman mumbles is the one in one half of a you know one half part of a ragtag team of mobsters in London and handsome he's our getaway driver and we can ask for himself well I just do for him and one to play by Jerry Butler is you know sort of our our sort of leader what was dirty like to worry I can understand a word he was saying half the time you know he's got a Scottish accent thing going on and he's a great laugh actually he's got such a sense of humor very funny he's a he's a is it's quiet you know he's he's a leading actor but he actually embraces an ensemble pretty well and I and I admire that if you guys think of the real rock and roll of this film gosh can you do this to means of RocknRolla up funny noises welcome Otis in Rockville Pete Doherty and Jimmy and extra and what's wrong well before so I yeah who was the arm on it oh you that's what I was told me he would walk in with a dog you know and you know like he's just you know he's got his famous friends coming in all the time that's the car I can't keep them you know can't keep me I'm everywhere I believe God has another two films in his mind he wants this to be a trilogy with you guys be on and also what do you imagine would happen to your characters I get to where Sparky boots now everybody knows up where some better clothes I think I think mumbles give me get into a fight with one of those Russian got any time oh all the way yeah no they didn't they are to kill they'd what I hear anyway and then mumbles loses all his teeth and really doesn't speak much and that's why they call him any muscles that's for cotton warning Marlon Marlon Marlon I like that there you go Marlon mumbles but you would definitely be on writer with you yes without oh yeah absolutely I mean he's you know it's long as the money was right and if my trainer is biggie now that it was a small trailer you know and it was like bigger trailers we don't know that I were a discussion with tender you know maybe with your love scene okay all right thank you so much this week that you've been lined up to be the next James Bond to be fair I think this conversation is when an actor or neither what's that just talking about zeroed in in any way shape or form about being James Bond or playing him that's immediate their chances of being James Bond or reduce significantly by about three million percent who do you want to see be the next James Bond would you like to see do it Tom I don't think they would ever ask somebody like me to play James Bond know these teeth but they have actually your name has been brought up contact amongst the gambling folks amazing you carry my stash up like no man on earth and I'm working on my gangster doing that playing against the next play what were staying in the wettest County very good with her again with Tom Hardy amazing Tom Hardy but he's a holy moly big fans of Tom Hardy everyone likes me Tom Hardy is that he's kind of hot [ __ ] at the moment is that I think the correct pronunciation it's super hot yeah yeah yeah we just work together on Tinker Tailor and then we do the wettest county and then on the Batman so it's going to be the euros Bane is that start may he's going to be is amazing he's on fire is like a firework see I'm a red-blooded kind of married man with four children though when I see those lips oh no he's always gorgeous he's gorgeous but he's he's he's read me yeah thank you going all right place to be for that long yeah you rely on each other a lot so we became very close and they you know everyone always says when you're on location making a film you become they become your family and that's really the case on this because everyone was so far from home and kind of trying to cultivate everyone and I made the best of it characters aren't really against each other at any point in this film my character kind of appreciates his character he's he he loves him for for what he thinks he's done for him and he's he's they're connected and he's kind of getting a blood transfusion from him so there's there's his excitement and and love for his his blood bag but um Thomas next year as you say is remarkable to watch she's um and that's the same thing being on set with him you see him create this character well as you said the intensity and and thought process behind he's very smart but also you know I kind of knew him a little bit before this film a very very sweet loveable guy and there's there's there's a lot of going on in his brain don't first thing I have to ask you and this scene where I'm where the bar girl steals officious wallet is that you the girl yes that is your hours of makeup how did that feel to be you know with a miniskirt and blonde wig I'll kill you next he is more they look good if I didn't know you would know that Canyon also has his experience wearing drag yes already done that twice so you're talking about that exchange the love tips you actually that it's something I need to play you haven't played a drag queen or woman on transsexual anything and that's something that I need to to do it's quite enjoyable now I've gotta compete as well as in I'm in some competitive nature like so we can bring our drag queens out yeah major drag off hey wish it had a wig off actually [Applause] it's creepy 1 BK blindness is a TV show over here that said these kind of music pretty cool sake the twenties all the flat caps what my question wall to us if you have seen it you should character I am it's pretty sleepy series but it's very stylized so all the guys are really cool the title is called pinky blind isn't the reason it's Peter - except raises so it's very great and if some would be absolutely perfect is to go in [Music] [Applause] - TV senior VP departments so sorry Tommy made a fair few enemies in the first series and together he's gonna make some more in there in the news Hutus I would add that making friends was insane one of them being Tom Connolly's carrots roasted what was some was he let's work with and what does he kind of bring to the show do you think that everybody knows how great Thomas as an actor you know that goes without saying and you know he's worked with Steve night before unlock so those guys have a relationship and I've worked with them in the past and and yeah it's brilliant when you get actors like Tom or like Noah Tanner like Charleroi gone yeah we want to be in the show because it you know it means that they like the show on the show us obviously reached their level and so yeah he's easy he's a very worthwhile adversary for Tommy in the second series Tom Hardy's obviously and new cast member for series 2 what do you think he brought to the show that was different fantastic facial hair I didn't work with so well listen tom was amazing and it's an extraordinary creation he's he's come up with this character he's such a fantastic actor to work opposite and the only his relationship with Steve Knight is also felt very much like part of the family him coming in but yeah I think people would be in for treating this could you you took Oh woody the doctor knew last week to the premiere of legend yeah how was he there pigeon killer okay it's really good Sabaton upset did you know there's an Instagram page dedicated to you Tom Hardy holding dogs have you seen this yeah one where the dogs holding me nine thousand three hundred and nineteen followers I'm not gonna say sad people that's another people I do love dogs you know they pitch video with all sorts of dogs but there are a few breeds of dogs they'd love to get pictures of you with okay right now on chatty man we make dreams come true would you by doubting a few more dogs tonight and I can send them the pictures [Applause] is he a boy is your car [Applause] throwing like red paint I'll be touching up the dog's collar so say you know yeah whereas a penis - it doesn't oh no that's not a nice look at that look oh that is so cute is it even a dog see it I'll go grab his [ __ ] every night [Applause] my boy am ia girl [Applause] one way to find out well let's get itself with me you in the gutter and the great day and their goat this is lovely look at this I wrote Hardy a fan letter he wrote back this is you know a letter saying thank you and what are you doing what are you working on what are you reading we sent each other our scripts that we had been reading he liked this and we're doing this interview on a subway system nobody knows this but it's all underground but then when he jumped on he was sort of like okay there we go because that's all we needed in terms of you know you know being able to appease the money side of it and you could just fill it in with actors and everybody showed up for Hilco cuz everybody loves Hilco and Tom you know tom is a big draw for actors because people want to work with him mm-hmm so I kind of that kind of rubbed off on me and I got you know exists in it well when you think about it I mean my character is a fan of his brother Forrest is the leader of the family he's the you know he's the he's the shot-caller essentially and you got an older brother Jason Clark playing Howard who's sort of the drunk who was supposed to be the leader of the family who could never really take the reins you got a younger brother in me who knows he can take some work take the reins and once it just doesn't have the appetite for the violence but really understands the business side and there's a lot of similarities in in my my you know my dichotomy with Tom in my life and Jack and Forrest I look up to Tom as an actor and I respect him as an actor he has a different appetite for you know being a method actor than I do this is no different than the appetite for violence you know but I tried his way and it seemed to work out and you know I learned a lot from Tom and not without not without you know truly familial brotherly moments you know in every sense of the word I mean it felt the dude isn't my brother and I love him like a brother same with Jason we all clicked up very hard and we were living in you know Georgia together in a frat house essentially for months we all got very close and we're all pretty like-minded in can again for you to present another movie in competition it's amazing to be here what are you gonna Madagascar is that competition Madagascar 3 is also here and Tomales don't that's she I don't know why are you causing trouble she said is it nice getting competition to give it to movies trialists yes tree of life and take shelter last year and take shelter when the Grand Prix's and create suite in Tree of Life won the Palme d'Or and no lawlessness in competition it's amazing to be back and can't I feel like it's almost this is gonna sound cheesy but it's like coming home I think suggested I watch a movie called the West and I found that character really influential and and playing Maggie because she has a line after she been forced to do unless she says it's nothing that won't wash away something like that is it Washington also research why are you bumping in my answer and so that I found very helpful and I approached Maggie that way she's been through a lot Chastain how did you manage to find your right place in such a man's world oh gosh finding my right place in a man's world well the great thing about Maggie is that she kind of comes from a man's world being in it from Chicago and probably hanging out with gangsters and when she meets up with these three brothers she brings this feminine energy to this house of masculine aggression and violence but at the same time she also is very masculine in her man she takes the power position do you know I've only done two American accents really and then a couple of not so good ones like okay so I'm still a bit nervous about the American accent but this is so um so specific I stronger color that there's a little bit more mask work to be done for me so it's a little easier to hide behind an accent like this which was not necessarily an accent but more of a personality and a character so I didn't feel like I was doing it's funny someone like a voice so that came from a center than than an accent and the same with warrior I had a very similar a monosyllabic were you know sensual character to come from so I wasn't caught up with dialect as soon as that happens I panic a nice well I'm not Australian in Tinker Tailor for a reason it wasn't a choice now that's not you I chose to be British but my accent work isn't always amazing not that it's amazing here from France I have two questions about your your characters Christian tune gyein into two Shia first guy you give us a Tom Hardy euro style reminds me have you ever influenced by him because the way you you you behave and do you talk in this field particularly in this room thank you no I haven't even seen the Godfather and I haven't seen on the waterfront and I haven't seen I haven't seen a streetcar but I have seen a lot of photographs so and that's a very nice thing would be to say I appreciate her but no it's not him it's not conscious if there is any comparison to be made and that's very very very high praise indeed apart from the T rising Shanghai what was the one when he played the [ __ ] yeah that one wasn't so great this is gonna be a hard turn but you can see any celebrity man or woman in a red Baywatch bikini who would it be anyone anyone everyone I mean I mean I think more people should wear bikinis regularly that's not Melissa I'm all about bikinis and Bellinis that's my thing right now and I'll show you how to do that but I think that okay I'm a Tom Hardy fan I think he'd be eating yeah I handsome guy I he'd be great I mean I need supremely talented yes I think that would be he'd be great in a in a bathing suit okay let's just talk about Tom Hardy my goodness I mean how did this man pull this off was no idea I have no idea how he pulled it off I think you did an excellent job but I I just I don't think I could even begin to to do something like what he did in this film it was really impressive okay well let's talk about first off are you acting opposite Tom as Reggie right tell me a little bit about that um that was sort of that was that clicked into place a lot quicker for me it was a lot more I knew what the formula was with our relationship a bit more that was easy and kind of natural for me and it made sense to me you know their storyline was sort of a bit more I just I kind of knew exactly how to approach that relationship Francis's relationship with Ron was was a different story completely I actually think that they're more I mean they're very very different personalities but they're actually they have a little more in common than Francis does with with Reggie because they're both operating on another kind of level of consciousness they're both like a little bit Spacey and a little bit out there and acting opposite Tom as Ron was a little more difficult to figure out you know I kind of had to be on my toes a little bit more he would ad-lib a lot and it was fun actually it was probably even more fun acting with him as Ron just because I never knew what was going to happen see that's really interesting that you say that because as I'm watching the film my first question to Tom Hardy is going to be who more fun or more challenging Ilana Reggie and as an audience you know you're watching I think I hate red she's probably so easy you know but I think that Ron was probably very difficult for him yeah that you say that yeah don't made it to me it's like working with two different actors yeah tell me about that process for you because I'm sure you've never done that before I've ever worked with an actor he's blank Jew no I haven't and I think you completely hit the nail on the head it's you know a few people have asked me if it was really challenging for me and if it was confusing but honestly he did such a good job of clearly defining each of these characters that you know we shot in a weird way obviously we would shoot with him as Reggie and then shoot with him as Ron so technically it was a bit strange but other than that it was like working with two different actors so it was kind of it wasn't too complicated for me tell me a little bit about even you standing by as an actor watching that fight scene oh that was very that was very intense I mean it was it was Tom fighting with Jacob who's his stunt double but who also would play whatever role Tom wasn't playing at the time and Jacob was so much a part of the film that watching the film the first time it was actually like Oh where's Jacob why isn't he in ER you know which was was kind of bizarre because he was such an important person on set so really it was it was just it was them fighting and it was Tom was Reggie first and then he switched into Ron and Jacob would play whoever he wasn't playing but really it was it was a brutal fight but they were really really going for it yeah you know you obviously get a ton of scripts you've done so much the great stuff and everything but when you got this one what was it about it that you thought wow I just kind of do this it's really it's difficult for me to sort of express verbally because it's so much about gut instinct I just thought it wasn't incredibly I mean it's a cool script and it's a really interesting script but I think that Francis was a really beautifully written character and it was yeah it was just that gut feeling of I want to I want to bring this person to life I don't know what it is but I just want to be a part of this and also obviously Tom was attached at that point and that was that was a big draw for me because I've been a big of his for a long time yeah don't let me leave just a little bit about you saying being a fan of his I mean his movies her every movie does he just steps it up with each other yeah oh he's gonna dog this I think what are some films of his that you've enjoyed watching and why do you why do you think it's great actor well I I watched I stupidly actually watched Locke the night before we started shooting and I just I watched it I went to see it at the cinema with a friend and I was like oh no I don't know how I'm gonna be able to sort of keep up with this person because he's just so engaging Bronson as well it's like one of my one of my favorite films anyway but I don't know what makes him so good I think part of it is just you know a lot of it is just god-given talent but I think part of it is the fact that he really really cares about what he's doing and he never phones it in and he just wants the work to be really good and I love it's so nice being around that energy when you're making a film cuz it makes you up your game yeah I was gonna ask when you're on a set like that and you've got such an intense actor playing against you is there time for levity off the set yeah absolutely I think I was really glad to to find out that Tom's not not a method actor I mean he was he was sort of joking around as Ron in between takes but it's very different to you know to say someone who's entirely in character the whole time I've that's not me at all I can't I think I would lose my mind if I tried to stay in character so it's nice to be able to to sort of have jokes in between takes and it was a very it was a really easy cast and crew and I feel like it was it was really fun to make the film and even when we were working on these really dark scenes we had a really good time Bob is played by Tom Hardy which is you know he's a badass actor you know he's a lot of fun to work with and I'm very generous so is new me and then James it's it's you know we try to make it work and and we and we do it together so there's no selfishness there's no the way it should be actually I think that that's the way it's supposed to be so that's what I experienced on this set and Tommy's he's very dedicated and very very specific and but a lot of fun to work with I've been wanting to work with Tom for a couple of years I met him maybe two years ago and we've been trying to find something to do together because I think he's just an amazing one-of-a-kind actor here and he always brings something to the table that I haven't thought about that I couldn't see that you know it's always like a new angle and it puts it changes things and it kind of forces me to to look even further out to dig into things and to think and to to be open because it could go any and like it could go in any direction because he has a complete different take on it is it fun to make a movie like that or is it just kind of a lot of standing around pretending things of here you know it is fun actually I think is because the the the character venom himself is just really fun he's not really a superhero he doesn't really care about good and evil he's he's more interested in whether he's hungry or not to be honest you know and he's uh he's super intense and unpredictable and he's kind of like a big puppy but with giant fangs he's kind of like a a toned down version of Tom Hardy it's time a friend of yours is he somebody that you knew before this movie together yeah I'm known Tom for quite a long time actually and we met back in 2007 for another unlikely reality TV show what was a reality show it's basically a TV show where playwrights write these scripts and submit them and see if their play could be put on in the West End which is our equivalent of Broadway right show didn't really work so yeah where you are playwright and he was a playwright and you were actors and know it was like episode 3 they bring in actors to try and workshop the stuff as he's you know Tom's just all heart man he really so passionate about everything he does and I kind of knew that from the first time I met him because like we'd be talking and actually I just started doing my music and I played him Sam he was really justic but every time there was like a gap in conversation he just stopped doing push-ups he just dropped and started doing push-ups and this guy's gonna do it working with this Tom Hardy guy no offense he scares that out of me there's something so intimidating about yeah yeah I thought the same thing and like the most surprising thing is he's just he's a he's a puppy dog he is he plays all these really intimidating scary dudes but in life he's just kind of like this that's my impression dude can you do it one more time you know so much secrecy involved can you tell us did you see anybody interesting onset did you see Tom Hardy or who did you who did you work with on this movie can you tell us that I got to work with Tom Hardy and it was a dream come true I'm a huge fan of his so everything he does is completely different he just transforms himself and it was just so amazing to be working with him and have him available to make this the best you know performance the best project he could make it in what tom is really exciting because he really is so concerned with everything being honest which sometimes can be difficult in a movie where there are aliens and you know mad scientists and and you have to you have to believe that that's your world we have taken dogs and we've taken actors and we've merged them into things that look like this it's gonna be on you guys to tell me who the actor is we're not going there for the dog breed because that might be a little bit too much but so we'll just go through these and then I might ask you a couple questions okay when you hold the device we do we swipe to the right right to the right I've got the oxygen go left is about why not see the [ __ ] wine okay so this is number one Bob any guesses Bob the dog walk the dog no tomorrow that is correct yeah what it's not Bob the dog is it really yeah you know when I see the way would you can't you get that from the dog strike some now is the so now is the towards of these dogs all right sell T oh it's a yeah you know DiCaprio yeah Michelle Williams Wow correct Wow Wow correct yeah I just wanna stop and tell you this I've never been more impressed with you right now we're gonna do this skill I don't know but you gotta find a way of monetizing this is a different game an acting game in front of CCTV camera 100 seen people the crowded rung can I be your manager I think I could take you to the top in this field just oh wow I'll be like Don King you'll be like you know the most important people it looks yes what take this guy's the champ ah he all right did you enjoyed taking asleep into the comic book yeah it's fun to mix things up and do things you haven't done before and this is definitely something I've done before we're seeing you in more Mainstreet roles you know I like that that's cool they attracted you most to it was getting to work with Tom Tom Tom Tom Tom Tom time yeah what's he like to work with I mean he's really dreamy because he's he's super talented and he's capable of really doing anything but he always grounds it um so you can be in sort of you can be in magical places but believe where you are it's a lot of fun yeah the Oscars are on Sunday and in sections after 8:00 award [Applause] mr. Basterds I don't think I'll be inviting no probably want to take someone else with him I'd love to go with him ah he doesn't he doesn't call in LA good night yeah he's my friend yeah how lovely he looks after me yeah serious it looks like you're holding his ashtray his teeth in between game between them yeah basket seat he takes him out yeah I heard that it was you that actually picked up the phone to call Tom to get him involved with this film what we work together on inception and he's you know one of the great talents of his generation is an amazing actor and these guys are like two sides of the same coin they're trying to survive in this harsh landscape and he brought incredible dimension to his characters very partner to have on this movie did it feel good that Leo was champion for championing champion for you yeah yeah it's wonderful I dropped everything they come to his side and that signed on and then he signed off and went to the Bahamas oh I want to talk about your beard a little bit you compared it to a spouse because you were so connected connected with a you said you had to go to sleep with it you had to endure it no is it and it was a our beards were you know a big part of our lives for a year and a half is quite a commitment right quite a commitment no we couldn't he couldn't shave and he had the long hair for a long period of time you this whole movies this whole movie it was I did have a long beard I started growing it takes money to go yeah six months before the movie what was that day like when you finally got to shave it it was fantastic fantastic I'm glad to be rid of it chocolate chips how are these really good they're good aren't they they taste like a campfire yeah so the pairing of you guys here to have in the room together you know here you're the one trying to survive this is the this is the guy who completely abandons you and you're going after him you guys are okay right you get along well with each other good buds we're cool now yeah how did you you know being close how did you guys get yourself so into character that I mean how can you be mean to Leo I was very simple I just left him in a hole the rest is history come to think of it that burial sequence was your extra a little fun like extra dirt on his face oh yeah yeah thank you he's such a genius sure you started off and in this movie you're literally having to eat a bison organ so I'm wondering like when you have to do that in a sequence does it does it really help add to the actual moment for you to find that Logan was liver yeah liver yeah yeah the liver yeah yeah I mean the reaction is up on the screen I think that you know you get you got you put yourself in those circumstances pain is temporary film is forever you realize you have one shot at making a sequence look good and look authentic that's the whole objective of this movie that was Alejandro's motto and the Native American actor that I was working with Arthur who was incredibly talented was eating liver all day and he said it he said it's in his culture and it's something that he actually likes the taste of and my thing looked like a big bloody pancake so I had to go for the real thing and the reaction is up there but I agree I think it gave a great moment to the movie ultimately I think it's it's too realistic that's for sure YouTube worked with some of the greatest directors in the history of filmmakers I I really want to thank that the actors that I got to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with in this film in particular my good friend Tom Hardy who was a beast and unbelievable talent it was there every single day who I know in real life would never bury me alive and leave me out in the cold to die like that Thank You BAFTA I am and I'm absolutely honored by this by this award tonight I I have to say as an actor I've been so influenced by so many British actors throughout the years I remember watching the Tom Courtney and loneliness of the long distance runner when I was 15 years old with my father all the way to Gary Oldman and and state of grace which influenced an entire generation of actors and of course the late great Peter O'Toole and everything that Daniel day-lewis has ever done I want to thank one particular British actor and that was my partner in this process mr. Tom Hardy Tom I want it yes I want to thank you for your fierce loyalty not only as a collaborator but as a friend I could not have done this journey without you the revenant was a product of the tireless efforts of an unbelievable cast and crew a lot I got to work alongside first off to my brother in this endeavor mr. Tom Hardy Tom your fierce talent on the screen can only be surpassed by your friendship off screen
