hey everybody you're watching dirt bike channel i'm your host kyle brotherson and today we're going to talk about the two tires that i trust the very most and i essentially put on every bike that i'm gonna review stick around [Music] [Applause] so in my email i get this question a lot about tires what tires i like what tires i don't like and i have an email that i send back to people with a number of tires to pick but i thought i'd do kind of a little bit of an interesting video here to kind of let you guys have a peek behind the curtain about what tires i choose when i'm doing a bike review so the last few years i've learned a lot about bikes in fact the last last decade i've learned a ton about bikes and one of the things that i've noticed is that every bike is different when you get it and i want to make at least one thing the same i want to take out at least one of the variables and the way i do this is by installing the same front tire on the bike and the same rear tire on the bike now for the last i don't know 10 12 15 bikes that i've had i put tubeless on the bikes because i'm really really comfortable with that i love the extra flexibility it offers me to have lower pressures to get more traction so each review bike the kawasaki here i haven't started to ride it yet but i've already put these tires on that i'm going to talk about today and i've already put tubeless on the bike i did the same thing over here on the circo and i did the same thing on those two ktms over there so let's talk about and i do that because i want to you know remove as many of the variables as i can so that way when i get on the bike when i finally do start riding this kawasaki and when i rode the circle for the first time i'm trying to pay attention to chassis things i'm trying to pay attention to ergonomic things suspension but i'm not worried about what the rear tire is doing i'm not worried about what the front tire is doing because it's a tire i'm very very comfortable with and trust a lot what are the two tires that i trust the very most i put on all my review bikes drum roll please the the front tire that i put on is the bridgestone m59 so this tire only comes in one size it's an 80 121 so it's a little bit more of a narrow tire and i really like that because it handles very very precise i feel like this tire tracks as good as any tire better than any front tire for off-road style riding that i've ever used i have some other front tires that i think are also very very good but this tire every time i try something else i keep coming back to this bridgestone m59 because i can't i just don't want to live without it and i've got one tire here and four of them up there yeah four so i've got five of these tires in stock in my shop because it's just that good i love it it doesn't it just tracks straight it doesn't try to like climb up and out of ruts it just goes straight i love it gets great traction so bridgestone m59 my favorite front tire at least to date and this is the tire that i put on all my review bikes um for that purpose because it's so good now moving on to the rear tire the rear tire that i have come to appreciate more than any of the other tires just because of an all-around nature that it gives me is the irc ve-33s gakota this is a hybrid gummy tire the front tire this is a standard compound the bridgestone it's a standard compound on the rear i like these hybrid gummy tires i've done videos not like this in the past i've done a highlight on the ve33es in the past but i wanted to bring it up in this context that it is my go-to rear tire for reviews this is a hybrid gummy which means it's softer compound it gets more traction than a lot of the others out there but it has a stiff enough sidewall that i can run this thing sometimes i run this without like one psi or zero psi if it's really nasty and really loose and this thing will just get tons of traction and dig it also lasts a little bit longer than some of the other hybrid gummies out there and so it's a really good kind of all-arounder very deep lugs for getting traction it's got good side hill uh knobs and they're soft here on the knot on the side so when you're you know trucking on side hills and stuff if you put weight on the outside peg of the bike this thing will bite into the side hill and keep you going up things it's amazing if you run a tire like this at a low pressure it's amazing what it'll carry you through and get you through but just for an all-arounder as far as what it can do in all the different situations breaking acceleration side hill action all of these things puncture fixability i can put a plug in this tire and it holds really well um and it's got that that stiff sidewall so all around this is the tire that i trust above all the others the best that i found the irc ve33s and so i put that on all my review bikes what are some of the tires i i'll give you one tire that i'll put on bikes when i'm not reviewing it and i just want the ultimate in traction and i've talked about this before this is the dunlop at81ex i'm not a huge fan of the dunlop ate 81 standard compound but this ex is the same tread pattern but it's a much much softer compound this is about the softest compound that i know of this this tire is really awesome gets super traction everywhere it gets more traction and better traction than the irc but the rc is a little bit more dependable the problem that i have with this tire is that it is hard to plug i mean sometimes if you put up if you get a puncture in this with tubeless like i'm using and you have to put a plug in this sometimes they don't hold so that's one of the problems with this one but i haven't found a tire that i like better it makes me feel more like a hero than that one i've got another tire that i want to bring to you guys but i still need to put some more testing through it i still need to try to put a plug in it but it's a new tire that you haven't seen me talk about ever before which i'm pretty excited about it's a straight-up gummy tire but it has a stiff sidewall carcass this dunlop doesn't have a very stiff sidewall carcass a sidewall but the other tire that i'm going to bring to you hopefully over the winter winter time does have a stiff uh carcass on it so it's it's pretty cool anyway those are the tires that i wanted to bring to you and just say hey look these are tires that i put on every review bike now um the irc ve33s and the bridgestone i just try to the bristol m59 i try to keep these tires in stock up here on my on my shelf um so that when i put one on a bike then i order another one and then i've always got a tire sitting up there ready to go for the next bike if you like these
