[Music] well hello everyone dan here with dan hurt prospecting here welcome back to my channel and if you're new welcome i hope to earn your subscription today i am here at my abuse lake agate claim we're here with a whole bunch of different lapidary clubs looking for the famous buce lake blue agate there are tons of us here i don't know there must be 100 people we're all having fun looking for rocks hopefully finding nature's treasures so wish us luck and i hope you enjoy [Music] now here at the abuse lake claim they have found some amazing world-class blue egg it's over the years and we just find them by digging in these hillsides sifting through the clay mud that comes out and the rocks that are left in your sifter or you know left after you've got rid of all the mud sometimes have the bluest most beautiful agates in them and i'll show you a couple pictures of some finished pieces right here we have hit this hillside hard over the years there are you know craters everywhere we always fill in our holes afterwards so to find the stuff it takes some serious digging we have to dig some fairly big holes to get through the overburden down to the rocks below and hopefully find those treasures okay so we have our first big egg at up the hill here someone just yelled again and they have are holding up something that looks like a honker let's go see what he's got nice if it were washed off that would definitely show a lot more blue it's kind of oh here we go here comes the washing beautiful nicely done sir what's your name ray hey ray good job good one so the hole isn't very big yet but i have come across my first little fragment of blue egget it's not all that blue but let's get close up so the blue is not intense on this one and it's just a small piece but gives us an idea we're on the right track so my hole isn't producing as nearly as much as i hoped but i am getting a couple of these small chips of very very blue agate beautiful stuff but we want big ones not these little guys that's right i'm greedy today so here's my first significant one of the day actually has some size to it has some nice blues in it that one could be cut and made into a nice little pendant or something first good find of the day and followed up by another big one but i can't tell if this is agate or just the host rock i see evidence of it right there that could be agate nodule unfortunately washing with water down here basically just turning to mud i have to take this back and have a better look at where i have more water so now that i have a somewhat significant hole dug this ground right here is hard which means it hasn't been dug before the ground over around this side is soft which is probably someone else's fill so what i'm doing now is i'm taking my shovel and just scraping the side looking for rocks to break themselves out of the side and then checking out the rocks that break out to see if they're agate or just some other you know crappy rock there was one that broke out just a crappy rock but that's the trick now now that i've got a good section of virgin ground exposed just scrape it down and see if it pops out an egg nodule whoop there it is beauty out of the bottom of the hole just scraping the edge hit a hard rock pulled it out wiped it off in the first nice nice solid agate so brian here just got a nice find nice two-tone blue nice beautiful egg now this here is what buce lake is known for that's the famous blue agate well done brian this is me in the hole i've excavated [Laughter] it's a pretty big one not much color in this one but it's a nice pattern and the egg gets a good egg into the bucket it goes well it's been a while since i found my last good agate but there we go there's another one i would like them to be more blue than that but hey i'm happy taking anything that egg it there is from way down here it's about three feet deep two feet wide but another egg i'm happy [Music] well a seam of opal on top of that one not the blue egg that we're looking for but hey when i wash that off maybe there'll be something inside of it sometimes this crumbly white agate opal stuff does open up into blue nice blue agates so i might be getting close to something maybe we can hope well it's been a long time since i pulled out negate so even though this one isn't very big or very good i might as well show it on camera does have a bit of blue in it my hole is getting really big i could bury myself in it now i'm sure if i jumped in and ducked down i could get my head below you know ground level probably about a meter deep right now three or four feet wide but just not producing the agates that last one came from over there over there somewhere well there's the nicest one i found in a few hours not that i'm back on it one in the couple hours ki is not on it but hey nice blue that's what we're looking for and maybe i've gone too deep because i'm not finding anything way down there that was just pulled out of the wall out of that hole right up there up higher let's check out this layer and digging up higher found another one just like that though this one doesn't have any color in it there it is blue egg i definitely was too deep i was down below all the agates now i know where to dig that's the end of the day oh no okay so there's a rock right there pulling out the same layer and finding all the agates on i'm going to see if it's an egg i can't quite pull it out i'm actually crouched down in my hole at the moment so i don't have any tools or anything i'll get back up grab the shovel break that out and see if that's also an egg it so far in the last four rocks i've pulled out of this little area here three of banagots one is not let's see if that one is of course the one rock i actually film in the hole is not an egg but the very next one was try and pour water on them to see if they look better but this just turns to mud so not really pretty much anything coming out of this layer is an egg of some sort well as i'm filling in my hole here i did see a blue one popping out there there might even be one up there i don't think that's one but that is definitely one right here it doesn't look to be too big but i know you guys want to see me pull one pull one out on camera see if i can do this one-handed okay it's loose it's just a tiny one just a tiny little agate so i wanted to find one more before i called her quits here and cleaned everything up to show you what i found but that's a pretty small one i do have a lot of uh filling of my hole to do so maybe i'll find a bigger one while i fill in but then i'll take these all back wash them up and show you what i found for the day and even another one almost done filling in my hole and then i'll clean everything up for you to see well there we go filled in my hole contoured my tailings nicely to match the hillside maybe a little bit more there i'll throw a few more scoop fulls right there we'll call her done and then go wash the eggots so it sure seemed like everyone had fun today a lot of people found eggs some people are still digging here can we go into midnight tonight i'm taking to china i think there was a couple of really nice ones found there the guys up there were they kept yelling against they were fine all sorts of good stuff i hear over here behind these trees there was some finds for the day let's go check it out brian just got the piece of the day here nice a fat open beautiful fortification that's the banding amazing looking curtis definitely found a neat one here this isn't our stereotypical from deuce lake here but that's a neat agate nodule toil inside bought troytal i know i say buckatoidle just be funny or something very very nice little agate congratulations well there were a lot of great finds today with the group with that many people there was going to be some good stuff found but let me do a quick time warp home here clean mine off and show you my treasures for the day [Music] okay let's have a look at some of these nodules cut open and another that's just plain gray and again just plain again we're looking for the blue there we go now we're talking a little bit of blue that's more typical for blue abuse like agate but still not the bright bright blue now we're talking we got fortification going on in there that's the iris the banding look and a bit of a blue tinge we're getting better of course i'm saving the best for last and this one's a bit of a geode it's got a little hollow in the center of the agate the neighbor dogs want in on the action now this one here we could tell from the outside there was going to be something nice inside let's have a look oh yeah there's the baby blue that we've come to love from bruce lake there'd be some great pendants made out of that piece yep fortification oh baby blue again none of the deep blue but baby blue fortification beautiful little agate and i said i kept the best for last here we are yes beautiful beautiful that's kind of their stereotypical abuse like agate right there a seam banded all the way around nice baby blues clears great color we can get much deeper blue than that but i'm happy with that piece well here we are beauce lake blue agate the hull from the day it's not the best haul i've ever had from that site i have done much better in the past but hey any day coming out with anything spending a beautiful day outdoor digging in the mud you can't complain and i got a little bit of nature's treasure along the way beautiful stones [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] well that's it for the day the snow is coming the rain is coming we're gonna have to get out of here i hope you enjoyed checking out all those amazing blue abuse lake agates if you did please leave me that
