today's recipe i'm going to show you how to cook a full boy casserole okay in the pan here we have about a pound and a half of hamburger and to this i'm going to add a cup of celery a half a cup of onion a half a cup of green pepper and one clove of garlic minced and we just want to put this all together and then just brown the hamburger and kind of sweat the vegetables down the hamburgers brown nicely um supposed to drain the grease off of this after you get all this brown and surprisingly enough there's not that much grease on this but we will go ahead and drain it so we'll be back in just a few minutes okay now we're gonna add in one six ounce can of tomato paste three quarters cup water a half a teaspoon of accent and if you have uh problems with msg or anything like that you can actually leave that out a teaspoon of paprika and one teaspoon of salt and we're going to put all that together and simmer until it just kind of gets heated all the way through and then after we get done putting all this stuff in here like this then we'll actually reserve out one cup of the mixture after this gets combined okay we've got that all heated through so now i want to take a cup of this mixture out and set this off to the side we've got plans for this and now we're going to add in to this 16 ounce can of pork and beans and do leave the juice on them do not drain them and also this is a 15 ounce can of drained garbanzo beans i do go ahead and drain the liquid off of these and then just kind of stir these all in take it all mixed up okay now that we've got this all mixed up i want to take and put this into a 9 by 13 pan okay we got this all in the pan and you just want to kind of pat this all out and then roll it out in the bottom of the 9x13 pan and then i'm going to go on move on to the rolls that go on the top of this so we'll be right back all right um the recipe calls for one and a half cups of flour two teaspoons of baking powder a half teaspoon of salt a half cup of butter cut until fine and then a half cup of milk to which four drops of yellow food color have been added or you can do like i do and cheat and use yes this quick works just as good and it's like by the time you actually mix all that stuff together what you've actually done is made bisquick so this is just as quick and easy and i do like to put the yellow food coloring in there because it kind of gives it a neat a neat appearance and i've got the gel stuff so i'll just put that in there and we just want to beat this around until it's all mixed in you can see that yellow food coloring in there probably actually even add a little bit more okay and i'm actually going to have to take this out and knead it on the counter top okay so i have cleaned my countertop off real good and so i'm going to sprinkle some of this this quick down on the counter to kind of use this flower now let's pull this out okay because we're going to end up rolling this out and then putting some of that filling on there that we saved out from the other stuff and so you actually kind of have to have this uh rolled out with the rolling pin and i do have the rolling pin off the side but you want to make sure to keep it well floured so it doesn't stick to your countertop or if you want to if you have like a pastry one of those claws that you can put down you can also use that but since i don't i just use my rolling pin and then just do it however i need to all right so we're going to take and roll this out and we kind of want a rectangle because basically what we're going to end up doing is stuffing these like cinnamon rolls so i should probably actually put my food coloring in with my uh milk when i put that in there but that's all right it's all good so now we're going to take our cup of mix that we set off to the side and one half a cup of sliced green olives quarter cup of slivered almonds and mix that all together let me roll this out just a little bit farther okay what we want to do here is i'm going to start this engine and i'm going to go almost all the way over but leave about an inch on the end so i can actually seal these up this is really good it is a little time consuming but we got snow day today so all kinds of time linda already made some brownies so we got dessert too so we're good to go okay just kind of pet this out so like i said i want to stay away from this edge over here well basically what we want to do is just kind of start rolling these up like i said if you have any spots on here that like stick to your counter or anything like that just take a knife and slide up underneath the rolls that work just fine so there we go so basically we have a big long tube of stuffed little flower on there so when i cut these they won't stick to the knife big long tube of the biscuits with the filling inside of these so now i will slice these and then we will lay them on top of the 9x13 pan so let me get that over here so it'll be ready to go you just kind of usually the way i do this just to make sure it's like i slice them probably a little thicker than i should and then i'll get to the end and i'll be in a panic and go oh my god i've run out of biscuits so i'd say probably half an inch is a good size so i said let me make this for my sister's birthday and when we do we have to double the recipe and make two pans because everybody likes it so well and it is good it's filling it's really it's really not that hard it's mostly just brown and stuff and then rolling these rolls out and everything but it's just the prep time for uh chopping all your things up that takes the most amount of time let's see if i can yes i had help making this so when i have a little help in the kitchen it helps things go a little bit quicker she doesn't want to be on camera so i won't put her on there although she's already been on there once so you don't want to crowd these up real tight to each other because they they will swell up a little bit they're not going to swell up a whole lot but you want to give them a little bit of room to get bigger so like i said i'm probably going to have to rearrange these some because i think i'm going to run out before i get to the end and what we'll do with these is you can actually make this up ahead of time and put in the in the fridge and it keeps pretty good but whenever we go to cook these you want to put them in a 425 degree oven for approximately 30 to 60 minutes it depends kind of depends on the oven and you just want to look and make sure that your biscuits are just lightly browned and this is what this looks like when it comes out of the oven so we'll dish it up so you can see what it looks like and there's what it looks like dished up on the plate garbanzo beans and beans and all that stuff so it's really really good can't wait later
