[Music] what a good be hopefully what it should be this your boy no.8 what up is DJ efn and this drink chance we'll look at happy hour and when we started this show we said we wanted to interview legends we want to interview people that's in this game ten years or more that's making a mark and that's standing here when I'm still looking at in front of his brother right here he is one of the most remarkable CEOs he has changed so many people from the hoods lives made the millionaires made them stars right now that the three hottest [ __ ] people in the [ __ ] world still signed to him right now going through a couple of different decades had the original cast one has it and then now that everything is going on in case you don't know now you you were like the cash money period what like the inventors of like being independent so how did how did you guys go from like you know being in New Orleans being independent and to you know universe to getting wind of you guys and then coming and the difference between independence before you guys like the ruthless records in the records what was the difference from then well I kind of studied all the guys who did it before me but just to bring you to the essence of where I come from how we come up you know just growing up in the boys home and you know just being in the streets all my life you know we lost a lot so I just felt like when Universal approached us I was already five six years independent and I feel like we had blood on this money already sir I refuse to give up anything you know you know I was a young man and that was my mentality that you know it wasn't about the money it was about me being able to own my [ __ ] and I just felt like we lost so much to gain so little so none of that [ __ ] even didn't even matter to me that's what it is this was gonna be if not I could continue doing what I was doing because I was making millions of dollars a month anyway so when I went up there to New York to visit with whoever was gonna visit with it was gonna be my way or no way our way of no wait period Wow how did you develop that mentality because so many people at the time um baby was they were getting advances and they were happy with dad and grind some you know a couple of a couple of cars and sneak on the bigger picture how did you see the bigger picture now everybody wants to be black excellent in black right but you was doing this in it and 20 summers ago that came in the game it was just like I just felt like you know but I loved so much but I love banding my whole family didn't bunch of my partners and all the [ __ ] to meet died to see me be successful see us be successful cuz I felt like how could I give somebody something that didn't work for miles man that music how can I give anything up that people died for so I went up there with that mentality and right and there was gonna be that of nothing we wasn't hurting for no money we was already making millions of dollars a month it wasn't about the money I still wanted a great deal that because in the beginning you know hip-hop was in the East Coast didn't win deaf West cool it didn't win south but even when south it took a while for it to come to Louisiana wanna say I'm saying so how hard was that and even when it went it kind of like went to Texas first and so how hard was it cuz you got to see the ghetto boys who got to see them yeah I was inspired to all that but New Orleans always had a culture right we was able to open a bottle eat move and do what we do drew out over New Orleans Texas Atlanta throughout the South Alabama autumn area so for us we were still generating a lot of money and it just we were putting out a lot of music every month so once I got the hustle of it and it was spreading so you know backing up days you had to do it from the turf you had to be in the ghetto with that [ __ ] were in every neighborhood every project in America we didn't better than [ __ ] so for me and for us we were just trying to really just get out together all right and I found the hustle which was music and we just stuck with it kept reapepper whoo god damn it gotta open up champagne brother though you know there's a classic way you open up champagne we don't got to do it around hood [ __ ] music you press down on it and then you open it up there's no noise there's no right behind me in my [ __ ] ear man - [ __ ] you normally things I've seen those with Matthews from bad brother you gotta get your life together you come up in this era exactly you know let me just tell you something palm barber man your every since my encounters with you this was important for me to do this interview because my accountants with you you a man of your word if you tell me yo we want to do something we have always did it day one day one and I got I gotta give this [ __ ] a lot of times I see people you know go on the internet in the opinions and their opinions is they opinions I don't you know that's dumb but I got to speak up for you you know I'm saying I gotta speak up for you ever if every encounter with me for 22 years has been pleasant it's been real [ __ ] [ __ ] I got to stand by that you know I'm saying I can't sit around and just you know them sad um c ollege it's a little bit more you ain't drinking champagne right now I'm stressed you all right you all right you in the trenches yes right well negative would mean let me keep let me keep building you up so I'm gonna tell you what happened I went to New Orleans and I was trying to I was trying to get a record from Master P right and remember what yours is this was like 97 or something fresh off a word prejudices of war report you know are he is not okay no no no this is after in our yeah because I don't remember what I was out there so girl say you got a [ __ ] cash money and I think hey [ __ ] yes so I was like what and she had put me on a juvenile think it was 400 degrees before the house is before the hot record and I was [ __ ] Cash Money now at that moment so then we identifying linked up with you on all the relevant friend album yeah and New York and you told me I had just one of juvenile at the time you said nah this little [ __ ] right here it's gonna be the biggest thing in the game and to be honest like to human straight shy back then you know remember he was tough he used to talk so when I look I just trusted you and I believed you and if you remember that record I let little Wayne go first you know I said I said but you told me that years ago when juvenile was the hottest in the game you how do you develop how you develop for citing and seeing talent like that I just think it's one of my gifts but you know I could see that [ __ ] before they see it in itself and and I believe in and I give my all tour then we ride with it till we make it happen but that does doesn't mean that it's gonna happen fast we didn't come up in a social media area you had to do that [ __ ] a different way but I think it's just one of my gifts burning it always and I believe in it I feel it I'm going with it I ain't gonna think twice about it and I I think one of my blessings is I was I was an artist and I know that how all this thinking but they need to paint how they paint a picture and I let her [ __ ] do that thing and I get out the way man now just stay in touch and I just personally feel like Julie he's a [ __ ] that's born a rap it really can rap and I wanted to you know jewelry signed to Cash Money no no and I just felt like for now this is a great way to bring you back and I don't want to destroy you're out there because I think he got so much to offer and talent why is he a bad [ __ ] hear me so I thought this would be a great way let him do this and then go do his thing you're in because arm he definitely born a rapper and he going he don't impress a lot [ __ ] with this project and with future projects that we're gonna do together now but you got right now presently you have one of the number-one records in the world what sounds happy yeah yeah yeah mr. your can't stop people on this weekend just kidding one no so so so cuz um obviously you know from your affiliation we see you know back right Wagner who's wears red red how does someone come to you and say this is a young brother I believe he's grip and does that make a decision and is about purity um well what made me was man wagga always had a relationship I started with the beat thing you know me going to care they're like you know how they moved to California and I say you know my love for music I won't go over that start a vibe let's get a vibe going so I hit whack and I said let's start Cash Money Western I want you to run the whole you'd be the part you do your thing and you're from the turf and just to make the artist feel cool I got one of their own to represent what we're doing and we put the play together in blue face and young savage the first two artists we signed from sim W I think I think that's go to because um see us you know on East Coast we walk just thinking like when a blood she's equipped it's automatic you know I'm saying and nowadays it's it's it's more like about the green like me you know I'm more overhead in this game I ain't trippin young he got town and we gonna do it just wrote was the blueprint of that as well you know what I forgot about that I forgot that should was actually you know that effect Sammy and blue face both from Crips won't quit but I mean we're just looking for tanning ain't man [ __ ] we're trying to make money I mean with the [ __ ] your ma ain't trying to be tied to the [ __ ] all we want to do is make money and do great business with these youngsters and keep them and keep building brands and turning them into millions hundred millions into billions that's the whole plate so when you thinking like that you ain't even got time for the small talk that's [ __ ] we're just trying to take this young man and make him as successful as possible building to be as big as possible that's all that matters [Music] I've been working with jacquees fo going on five years and day one I saw Starla minute I just you know as a process in this [ __ ] you know and I stuck with him we believed in him and I think right now 2019 this is you for all the hard work he put in here a great young man come from a great family and I think he's gonna be one of the best for a long time I'm not just saying that cuz he wouldn't because he's talented he right he can't right he goin there you know young [ __ ] doing five six ten songs a day man they really chopping it down so for me with him i'ma work with him and we gonna hustle real hard he got his own company that I didn't break all fyb with his own artist his single of his new album come out on the 22nd then his album coming out either April or me whenever he choose to drop it but I really expect a lot of big things out there young man and that's gonna be the year an attorney print and we believed in him day one and we're gonna continue to believe in and let him paint his pitching do his thing is it safe to say games game album will be on cash money west say that again is it safe to say that game I would be in a game is managed by Wack Wack running Cash Money West game is one of my closest friends I really like gang if I ever got a chance ever got a chance to work with gang trust me it's gonna happen okay so that's like almost that's like maybe like if I ever got a chance I think he's you could put gang in a boat with the banging the kyndra's drinks this man is a real [ __ ] there's [ __ ] born a rap you got a few [ __ ] really born a rap you're a man kind of felt like game but we felt like he didn't need this take certain tactics that he was taking this ride around like with the Kanye thing like we didn't agree with that could we talk that game it's too nice for that but he's too good lyrically yeah he could get to that see my partner of embracing let me do whatever the [ __ ] he wanted but I already want to do it but I believe in his talent and I'm gonna bring my expertise to the table yeah what would I bring to the table I come with power with this [ __ ] and I think he's a superstar something like that like where artist was talking about artist that you made me cool with like you know like like if you was cool with Kanye and game when at Kanye his wife have you ever been in a guava something like that we wonder they're missing something or something like that other than a business yeah ain't my own number I got nothing to say buddy to get it out a live dog with it whatever they won't do with it [ __ ] you just leave it over there hang so in in the beginning there was a cash money rough ride at all dan why did my partner swish all them [ __ ] we grew up together in this game just big blob of respect but I'm not gonna lie to you no one thought that tour was gonna survive that was about even like the openers was kilis like everybody was the same as if it opened up everyone's it pretty was to open a death row up oh god oh god shut out the fitna there's one of my one of my close friends okay okay so how was that how was because what well cuz you know again at the time New York was running [ __ ] so much that like they didn't really acknowledge other places but this is you know focuses the hottest people on the [ __ ] planet how did that you know not only New York embracing you but the world somewhat looking at you know New Orleans from here on out honestly breath we was young and we didn't give a [ __ ] wow they keep it um we were just young excited to be out the project I used to have a bus with at least a hundred with me my whole neighborhood was with us so we wasn't already tuned into what we was doing we were just happy to be out together making money and we could buy our mom's houses and cause we wasn't tuned into after all that [ __ ] like now let's take care of we're gonna take this [ __ ] serious and get jiggy with it let's see that we can make 100 million a couple of hundreds of billion dollars in this [ __ ] but when we was doing them tours we were just running around having fun getting money not really know that you big y'all going the stores popular fan yeah yeah we were just enjoying that [ __ ] just to be your ma just like a dream come true that [ __ ] happened at a really young age for all of us but you know myself when we got all that money like that [ __ ] thought they was dreaming facts I was 19 making twenty Wayne a bit playing with means a dollar since there was 13 and 14 years old man yeah we grew up it been I've been with universe for 23 years and I was seven years an independent before that so you know it [ __ ] been like we grew our life up in the music business and at a young age playing with a lot of money so at some point right it looked like like you were now had laughs or Turk had left me looked like it was just you Manny and weighing at one point yeah did you have any doubt you know because at the time Wayne was not the man definitely and I remember him like somewhat putting cash money on his back well again that was like you know it's like your son so are you thinking like this is the one or the I'm thinking this is the one cuz this is my son when all that [ __ ] took place kind of [ __ ] me because I never thought it could happen meaning people like [ __ ] would just go separate knowing how hard we come up and we really started with nothing not blessed [ __ ] I gave my life to this [ __ ] I understand put my everything on line if I was gonna die I was gonna die I had to kill I was gonna whatever had to be done I was with that [ __ ] so when it did happen the same dead having Wayne came to me like because I was in my feelings about this [ __ ] like y'all [ __ ] know what it is [ __ ] y'all know what it is y'all know what it is he was like man [ __ ] them [ __ ] man I'm better than all them [ __ ] together anyway that [ __ ] woke me up I say you know what right [ __ ] the [ __ ] let's go and that [ __ ] turn me up Wayne never look back and what's the first record when you see like from that moment that you seen rain perform he was like I just think it was right and now and you right he was dropping mixtape mixtape Wayne okay I mean I went to a show and I'm thinking words now I'm just peeping it okay I'm just peeping him cuz I'm used to always being on stage with him right see he was like I got this tonight you should I want you to watch me Wow when I saw that [ __ ] I was like let's go I knew he had I always knew he had it but honestly you know with all the love and respect situations diversity and make a man be a man and make you stand and losing them made man Wayne just go harder in every situation so it really turned him into a monster right because that first thing you had to build monster right but when they left even though eventually be who was gonna be but the the leaving [ __ ] made a [ __ ] just be more creative and do their thank I'm one thing about cash money was like problems like you said he was influenced by jay printz like I think yeah I was wrong about more than they get ladies excuse me excuse me um I was thinking on Houston ghetto boys use me but um you guys always somewhat did your own thing like when we see I'll come out on the helicopters I think it's been thinking like that helicopters and um what would develop that was it was was was it because they had other people who was popping from New Orleans like I feel like that competition hell nah we just our early days but I was just painted my life and our other day all that [ __ ] was me just saying [ __ ] this how I'm living Wow that's what we doing this how are we talking with it we're gonna get helicopters all kind of [ __ ] it puts them but it was just a fantasy [ __ ] had as a kid just want to live life a certain way and I put that [ __ ] and turned it into reality you never thought it would be this big though you don't you you have expectations but when you're living it it's something totally different and our first expectation was just getting out together and then as you live in you know every day of life is a experience because I never live life like this yeah I come from the slums with this [ __ ] so any one of these artists is they come from the slums - so every day of life is an experience because [ __ ] never lived life like this so for me not in thank you but once I seen we could do it I went for it a lot of people don't understand like you'll see a new artist you'll put them in the studio with you you're hanging out what I'm like wow where did you develop like just showing love like even like what young thug and all rich homie Quan like like you show love to them like you just I don't think you had to I think you did but wow you develop that you know that it was true somebody else but I started tanning and Doug Doug bought the other boy to the game but it was always what I saw him right silent soldier yeah gangster [ __ ] wouldn't tell that is my partner my little brother but I saw so much talent in him at a young age he was 19 when I met him and I just felt like with my platform we can make him my stalker no the world ain't seen no [ __ ] like this and we started that rich gang [ __ ] but it was really about him I mean I want to take it back I want to know what in New Orleans in the days when it was y'all at No Limit yeah I'm like how was that for a friend for us I don't know you know what's the ever like because we know was competition but what's the ever like you know it was beef or something like that we are certain artists Cash Money know lemon that [ __ ] was real yeah well no gain [ __ ] with us win Cali Oh Magnolia polish it real Oh the project be two different no we from two different projects so right it just didn't never mix and me and his relationship never mixed yeah maybe the artist is but we didn't [ __ ] with each other so they couldn't [ __ ] with each other but not cuz it was beef or what they're literally just Saint never vibe blah you're a man never had no beef ain't nobody dead your honor but we just did another vibe Wow to this day we just never vibe get me wrong I got the most respectful you know looking from my same city so I [ __ ] then came up and he did some [ __ ] [ __ ] still trying to do you put out 35 albums in one year you heard me so that's a lot of hustling but I salute to everything he's doing so you'll be building this Wayne is taking the flagship now who comes first Drake or Nicki cuz when weighing obviously where you had to come to you and say you know cuz you're your to separate you know bigger company so when he has to say yeah bird baby we won't sign this who comes first Nicki they both came same time yeah yeah oh so that's it was that like the young money start along money yeah so you you look I'm running was already around they won yeah you had like I'm who was the guy Jae Millz no they they come out it come after all but young money was squired up and all that other stuff was doing but young money was just an imprint till we felt like it was time until we found Drake in Nick and then so what's your first impression for Drake because at this time right Nicky you know there's other artists from Queens its other artists from New York maybe you guys ain't worked with some but there's other artists one who you got identify that there is no other late [ __ ] from Canada no not at the time not at the time that's it pick up my brother called now officials don't want you to carve in sock sock but you know what I'm saying it licked there's note so this is actually he was already an actor he was active but it was active some [ __ ] no one that was you know what a candidate know about it so what's the first thing that pops in your mind sent down Canada [ __ ] can this it was a name I name no way it was from I would like that [ __ ] Cole I said the first day I met him I told him he gonna be a legend Wow he said for real I said [ __ ] you already a legend well I make a bad becoming the game as a bad man right when I just heard his mixtape it was the first tape he ever done he invented a form to be who he is but they were when we met him he wasn't who he is now but he's anemic and waiting at first no way at first I'm just being honest I mean that's your opinion but yeah that's two different machines they do music in two different ways see Wayne started something with that song prostitute [ __ ] wasn't singing back then [ __ ] was trill rapping okay he did that pasta too and that kind of changed the game but Drake already was doing all this [ __ ] so when he came and over a period of time Drake been around with us 10 12 yeah he formed into something that what he is right now super super superstar now nikki is you said came at the same time yeah your first impression of Nikki was Jesus when we first seen it he showed me a DVD the same day we got a DVD on the fool yeah okay the same day we did a meaning the first week on them called a three I think call the two Accardi three whichever one that world and we flew it I just seen something you know and he really seen he brought it to me like we got she gonna be the female of young money but you could see but being around Nikki she eventually formed into something right cuz we give him so much freedom to be whoever they want to be and she formed into Barbie now I'm moving around a little bit have you ever like you know try to make an artist or artist and it just didn't work everything just the music business behind other [ __ ] you do might not work exactly you know I've been with jacquees for five years to it you know with Duggar and I've been with Wayne no Wayne had the longest running all of them my name was around 10 15 12 years before he he always was successful until he took it them you know like Nicky and drinking them they popped off top it went straight up you know Wayne had a longer ride before he got maybe because the ambition was hired [ __ ] wanted to go where J was that I think I wanted to see what it feel to be up there that's what [ __ ] shot two boys on that rap shit' will you put cash money when you compare like a death row a bad boy anybody where do you wait yes so tell me with all respect to everybody that ever did this [ __ ] none of them have done more than me you got a billion I sold over billion reckless and I sold over 300 billion streams and nothing did over five hundred and seventy five million on Turner's alive I'm sorry I'm not counting your money I'm just saying just say that one more time I did over 300 billion streams and I did over 575 million oh my god lalu Atkinson did it before me but I respect what they did and how they done it and I looked at all of them and I just wanted to be better and do better and you know the crazy [ __ ] is I'm when I when I have barber shop talking up when the cameras ain't around and you know they compare you guys to the jays and they compare you to the to the Diddy's and everybody the difference between you is you did it mainly on music I did it all music all music all music god damn it when they gave it up I hugged it all right this was the life I wanted just a life I chose and now refuse to date to give it up I love it Wow I love the hustle music I love to take young black men and make them successful ain't got nothing that's an ambition for me to see talent in a young man who see it in a self but I'm gonna believe him and show the world what they got within know that [ __ ] a rush for me why how do those deals that you created early on that were monumental change when with her the streaming era like if you have to adjust know what you were doing or or reproach it a streaming is the best thing that ever happened to the game but I remember cuz not you could you know you could it's more money in it it's more money in this game not only ever been so for a young man who's streaming he don't need all the things we needed back in the G [ __ ] could be doing that [ __ ] off of YouTube and social media and get him a bag it's so plentiful not all of us the money is no the money just way up for these youngsters you could do more what I what I did in 30 years I could in five years I'm gonna do it again in five years it's a different game it's a faster you prefer it now the way it is I prefer to dentists and make me appreciate it because I put in the body of work for that [ __ ] but now it's a different hustle to me it's easier but it's more plentiful it's more money for everybody all right it's a different game if you see these [ __ ] running around with all the bags on the phone by the ears and [ __ ] cuz [ __ ] really not a music business is way up and this is dominant urban early music by the culture we're the culture now now like I said we bounce around a little bit now I'm top thank you and say thank you for coming through because what the world the public haven't seen you I try to talk less than don't talk at all and let my actions speak louder than words the last time the Internet's kind of saw you was when you said are you finished all you done and it was the most classic legendary she told and that was like okay of course now what exactly was what was they what what do they do to make you because I haven't seen she mad like that ever i I've never I know you twenty years they had to date wasn't it let me get it so what do they do oh how was that I just had some [ __ ] on my chest okay well it was Charlemagne okay okay god damn you Charlemagne good I just wanted to see him face to face and let him know your slap stop playing with me respect me you disrespecting my name you playing with me up here respect on his name yeah we never spoke with your name over here no that man so did you know that was the most viewed like two minutes viral that will yeah that was vibe that was viable day and I can tell you is trying to keep your composure you know you can't Charlie but but you haven't talked to the media since that's well sure you sat down with us I try not to but you know you a different culture bread you think yeah for each other then we had a mutual friend and we both Mouse together man hold on everybody please make sure your phone's is off I want to give moment of silence to one of my close friends Birdman's close friend CeeLo on the count of three one two three bow your heads and close your eyes for a second god bless you see those [ __ ] [ __ ] me up I didn't think about it right now like that's your [ __ ] here cuz I didn't see that coming man oh and that [ __ ] loved you he just was on a plane with me yeah we all threw out there together but you know life goes on that [ __ ] lovely we're now a real southern you know we missing four I miss him too bad great father now I we moving along right we are hear these rumors about you and Wayne and all this crazy stuff right those rumors take over right but then there's a moment where you and Wayne is together and y'all hug each other why you think the internet implode that moment up more than they blowing and this is just this is just honest you know I'm saying because if if they're gonna blow up you know what they think went wrong when when they see that moment that it was corrected why you think the internet give it the same energy I must be talking too long I really don't know I never get caught up in the Internet I don't give a [ __ ] about none of that right I'm gonna live my life I live my life Wang I love him like a son the other day you know we communicate is my son to me before I even had my own son he was my son so I don't I really don't give a [ __ ] about no Internet and I always take the lick but [ __ ] i'ma still stand up and will still be a man and I'm living like that you always stood that ground like Wayne is my son like you never had caught a moment where you got mad because like you said like a lot of moments I got mad but still when you look at it when you look at somebody who consider me a son you gotta suck that [ __ ] up and no matter how I felt I sucked it up you know he might was feeling some kind of way but it didn't matter I just sucked the [ __ ] up kept him moving the only thing I could do was just keep hustling but I knew man they were gonna eventually get back together you see kept saying that I wasn't worried about that but for me as a man and what I've gotten is gainful I just wanted to keep hustling and keep making talent throughout all the storm now one of the people that was vocal when you guys would be friend and then one of the perfumes I was vocal after you guys like you know gave that hug was Ross right now Ross when you guys gave that hug and you got squashed at Ross tweeted out or thinking he Instagram and he said that was honorable so I guess that was his way of apologizing to you do you accept his apology or for the track it's almost for I guess whatever he was saying because I just came up I'm almost [ __ ] business I'll get in no other [ __ ] business I'm in the music business and now mine alright when another [ __ ] another [ __ ] business to me that's a violation that's how come you know simple I ain't never been no man to speak down on no man in this music business never did ain't my thing cuz I know how hard this [ __ ] is you're me I'm here to downplay [ __ ] I won't see a [ __ ] come up period so far as me I was speaking down on a [ __ ] I would never do it not with a [ __ ] disrespecting it's [ __ ] [ __ ] in my [ __ ] we could kill shoot whatever you wanna do before is me speaking down on a [ __ ] in this game they ain't my mo cuz I do my thing um moving on he's like I said we bounce around have you ever received slack for like having the tattoos when your face off rich already who gives a [ __ ] right when I put them on my face I ain't give a [ __ ] I did this [ __ ] at 15 I knew I was gonna be a dope boy when I was born I knew that my pops was a dope boy Chilly's that's what I always do I know any [ __ ] that put TAS in his face it ain't too much motion [ __ ] you could do cuz you're gonna be doing too many doors you can go in I perhaps to choose hip hop right so I could walk in doors with this [ __ ] on my face but at first you know it was gonna be like dope boy from that was a war for me was it ever a little awkward when when thug and our Wayne wasn't getting along we talked a lot about that [ __ ] but I never that [ __ ] in the bud okay you know Wayne's my son it doesn't like my little brother so to me that was to me that I was like a family situation okay that [ __ ] wasn't gonna go nowhere it was no beauty it was gonna be and we were gonna leave that alone and get back to it my whole thing was to get them to work together that was my plan was at that time we were going through changes with artists with the Young Money cash money [ __ ] so I went embrace young darling I mean went to Atlanta and started that rich gang [ __ ] but my plan was always was to get them to work together now us in New York City we had this group at one point called and it was jay-z it was Ja Rule's and DMX we're supposed to go and make an album you think Wayne Drake and Nicki will ever make an album like that their plans a bit a few songs but you know you never know everybody brought you're a man everybody is in so many different directions breath [ __ ] playing with hundreds of millions of dollars so you know it's a lifestyle with that [ __ ] you're weighing out his life Nicki got a life Dre got a life I mean Dre got his life so everybody's in different areas doing different things right so for them to come together and do it is it possible yeah definitely but will it happen I don't know just everybody doing a thing you know everybody you know younger days we probably could've did it easier but not you remember [ __ ] playing one hundreds of millions and they all got tours and scheduling but honestly I think it could and should happen because they were the most retailers in the game now Colin on his way to superstardom I don't know his name right that's right yeah on his way to superstardom he was on e one on Kosh then he had a brief time on cash money and now he's this is this you know big huge mobile um how was the experience like what call it off it's the same when I also wish you could do but respect ya Asli gonna find a way get away make away that's not that estate buy me a real hospital you go get that I got cool cool I think Ross I said someone that wreck you know something man I always did good with Kelly Kanaka speak on me I think I made millions of dollars one with me with another [ __ ] ain't never gave him opinion I was putting millions in his pockets I always did good by any any young organizations that you see right now coming up that you feel is like y'all back when y'all started I like what Pete doing with QC I like what he's doing I always felt like we need most CEOs in the game I really like what he got going on he hustlin and I like what Top Dawg building you're over there with what he got going on you know that's great keeping that legacy on the west of life and I like what young Doug forming into a girl because he's finding talented doing this thing you're gonna see a lot of that from jacquees I think you won't see a lot of that from the new world is that the youngsters gonna be putting [ __ ] on I'm gonna be putting their own brands on I think that's what's gonna keep this [ __ ] going at a heavy pace it's when star artists put other rappers on right now mr. cool at one point came over there we know how did that work out because um he was no linear and do you receive any turmoil for Yamaha you know misko and all the martyrs just was caught up in some [ __ ] was what's going on with me and let's do your they always wanted to work together yet just that we didn't vibe so it would never happen but mystical came I always been a fan of Miska Miska nor lucking legend like a free agent booth camp click I think was his crew right something like that booties on yeah yeah yeah they had beef kind of with bootcamp clicking new heart oh yeah to remember that I do remember that we did a project with my school and it was proud of it and we still cool today right no respect how was the time like well Busta Rhymes you know Buster different about the determined yeah you know studying supposed to stop keep getting this [ __ ] so um I mean besides you getting getting money because we know you give money but why why you develop like you know you you you develop a positive value so I want to say that like it's like you don't get involved with that he say she say [ __ ] but it's hard to win this game there avoid that you know I'm saying so how do you develop that type of attitude because even me I for like I mean having a raise some [ __ ] have you say it's like your mother Brittany girls come on CBS go pick that up I gotta erase this [ __ ] you don't say I'm like but you don't feel for victims like like I see a nanny at all what you say I see it in here okay I just don't get caught up into it I rather chase the money than the [ __ ] [ __ ] easy breh I chased the money for I chased the [ __ ] I'm not gonna entertain it I'm not gonna really waste one second on I got too much other [ __ ] I won't not try to do but I want to be able to set the bar so high in this [ __ ] that maybe the [ __ ] who can touch it he not even must on this planet [ __ ] hmm that's my only mission in this game mister keep running it up is it personal dream pick up the best bar liquors I totally forgot for our simple violent look at the day we gonna make sure they got that wasn't a manatorian again sincere we're gonna make sure they got this cereal in there cuz birdman them worked me the big bottle I'm taking that Holmes I'm not sharing with these [ __ ] they are not worthy that's by hey my friends and all that but your best why not call me out here by lynda.com is my liquors you know said now are we gonna ever get another big you I doubt it I'm just not with it okay okay hang with it and fresh my pot and I love him like a brother we talk all the time and you know he do produce for me for certain things but other people but hang with it so there'll be another big Thomas I never get another hot boy oh maybe a hot boys cuz he's got hot boy bgp home this yes so maybe get something like that door and so who's up with his BG Turk James and you oh yeah they're the people who eat them up I got a harmonic say no 30 who knows did you really have a homicidal on 32 man we were living this [ __ ] after that like in real life no nobody talked back through that oh man so um okay all right so now people don't talk a lot about is slim slim don't really talk a lot he's to the side like say a couple of words about slim you know cuz he's mysterious no one knows gonna Nicole doesn't [ __ ] on the planet that's right okay my brother I look up to my brother wow you mean everything to me he's like a daddy to me everything everyone for slumber nothing [ __ ] be still going on because I was I was I was kind of ratchet with this [ __ ] it's not really maintained and thank you know he kept all the pieces together goddamnit and what why do you think about like people talk about him wars because he's the behind the scenes he played it back feel like he's like the Biggs of cash money yeah that I would get all right but he told her they 1000% the shot-caller anything go down snub called all shots Wow now the first single that you guys saw was artist Neal G there the first release he's still some no rest in pieces god bless oh man oh my god what was the year that catch when he started um I held my federal tax ID number in 1990 I came home from jail in 1989 December 10th I started my label got my federal tax ID number February a sign when Universal 1997 may 10 and still Universal as a partner there's been that 23 years same team and little Wayne's first album was a little slim no that's a bottle of wine that's what what little Wayne okay yes you begin money for 23 years when Universal Tech supposed to be looking crazy I'm so sorry no I know I know just to keep it G which you brought and made two billion dollars with universe well University yeah not to mention what you made before that and depend them and 1 billion of the dollars I broke down with Wayne Drake and make it and now it's Drake still signed the cash money all day all three still in business together from life okay when you cut checks like that ain't no [ __ ] going money long [ __ ] strong beautiful beautiful I was so glad you know as a person that you know seen Tiana B get I can't say from very very beginning but like I'm from the 90 I was safe from 98 to 97 on you know when I sent y'all rectifier situation that's the reason why I feel I ever noticed like we supposed to be media whatever but we never talked about that because I know you have relationship when a beginning and when I seen a turmoil I wanted to look at the end result so I chose not to ever speak up a little bit because of that and I feel like no one could should I'm gonna come to y'all like I especially if people who know y'all relationship like this is real [ __ ] like yeah I know you love that [ __ ] you know yeah and I respected you I respected you respect you and respect your stance for never falling victim and I'm glad that you told you said man listen man I've been x nori I almost did but I know I never almost okay elbow okay I will never cross that line with my I always looked at him as a son so how could I ever disrespect him right that wouldn't be a man that wouldn't be a father alright one second ever disrespects in mind I call it clear my son so I would never I just suck it up and then so how initially did you like kind of fix it was we talk talk a couple of times okay yeah that was important to me that I you know I started with weighing I gave my all to my son and he gave us all of me so to me for me to continue to do this business I had to fix that with him that was the time I did want to speak on it I wanted to speak about job you know fixing the situation because from so much enough in our community is always the bad part is promoting mmm when a good part happen is why the [ __ ] we don't show with that same energy you know I'm sad so like I said I commend you on now come into him on that I could meet you brothers um you know rectifying the situation there's the one thing you don't ever want to do is you know let your family members be affected through money you know I'm saying cuz that's gonna come and go but now I'm just getting a little awkward how are you and Tiger Stan because I don't know he was supposed to be signed to the label or something like that and he said that he was on Interscope or some situation but I always did great but tight I put millions in this pocket all right I ain't never violated a young man ever to speak in my name in vain in any kind of way I always they're still a solid with it but you know [ __ ] do you think that sometimes people blame you because that's the easy way out I'm no gangster so you know well yo they got a stand on that [ __ ] though when you be saying that [ __ ] because eventually you know how this [ __ ] go / you never know but it's the music business you never [ __ ] know you don't burn no bridges not one of them alright the music Ben you're gonna run past I'm a being this [ __ ] for real all right I'm Big Dawg on this [ __ ] so I ain't going to what was the track that y'all did together the first time they cash money work with a new first I did a feature what you mean no it felt like that we was already a fine wine turned me on their music he was more up-to-date with them than me so when we go up there we go check we go here every ghetto we go in every project we going [ __ ] hood and just chill right that was our whole mold when we going whatever city I didn't better never get on America cuz we was here in Miami and it seemed like Cash Money wasn't really doing a lot of features at least not not outside their area I wouldn't know the [ __ ] do features so this is a big deal we saw that featured sorry [ __ ] but cuz I ain't won't hold myself I hold my [ __ ] we ain't gonna be Manny's [ __ ] ain't helped us do nothing I ain't trying to be cool with no [ __ ] don't wanna be cool with no NIC that was our motto but certain EGIS we [ __ ] with and you know and we did that [ __ ] so this day baby I still got that 25 degree yeah that's why that's why I wanted to personally do this because you know I'm saying like what everyone's opinion of anybody else is that in my opinion but I gotta stand on what I know what my ground is and whenever I accept you or not I came to you because I remember um you know not too long ago said I had a rain feature I was independent like a [ __ ] I ain't had no nothing that hit nobody and that's it and you said you get you listen partner but you did tell me is don't you have no other name called me heavily you better call me in the ring and I was like yes because what happened was you know say me and them had lived in a closed facility oh because I was there and I just you know I just didn't feel right like reaching out to him and he was like I don't care I would not feel right they can you each other always looked at you as a pun exactly's my brother I appreciate that brother cuz you held me down and so I'm gonna do this interview personally because you get a bad rap sometimes I mean you can say you know Birdman this is Birdman you don't speak so sometimes if you don't address the room or the room will becomes the truth so in this day and time you know I wanted to come out but can I tell you how I personally feel about that I don't give a [ __ ] yo so um we've been recently seeing the emergence of black excellence and black bonus [ __ ] I know I've been touched on it a little earlier what is the next step for us to to grow as the people whether it be at us as hip-hop people or us as just you know what was the next step was I could speak on the music part or in their life you know that [ __ ] going different ways but for the music we need to just keep doing we doing I see the young uns starting to spread their wings you know sign in town like getting talent and there's so much in the game right now saying like it was when we was coming up this [ __ ] didn't change for real and they changed for the best right you're a missile when you got these young and out here doing it I keep doing it and keep doing it hard all I could tell the [ __ ] go harder don't ever thank you less you doing it you cool [ __ ] go harder like I know you are a real music guy right for years I've seen you I go to certain places you'll be there do you ever like see because of somebody's music out now it's kind of trash what does hit records do you ever say what do you say you say do you care do you care or cuz like you you know if a record is mixed or not different game bro okay see my you got a lot of old [ __ ] tripping on a new game yeah it might not be the kind of music we was listening to you gotta get with this [ __ ] or get left behind this [ __ ] it's a different game a lot of [ __ ] oh not a transit at range in to what's going on your mi always been trendy I never been a follower so for me we're gonna start is going on but you gotta see what's going on the know what's going on you're a minute away these youngsters doing music not you can't compare how we do music got how we did music we weren't even understanding [ __ ] but I get it I understand it and you got to get with it okay so what's the next step the next move video legacy I wanna do I'm doing movies but okay Cash Money films I always had my cash on the guy yeah I got my champagne I got a few different hustles um my stunt of brand that's within music but I don't want to come outside I'm doing well uberman again you know I want to thank you personally because you ain't have to do this you ain't you ain't you won't have to be questioned or or you know interviewed at all you you you know saying you are who you are Bob I wanted to you know say decided I see you from you know and I cuz I just feel like sometimes it's unfairly how people view you you know I'm saying so as a person who knows you and not for just since yesterday I know you for that Wow we got home always always have you say if you say you're gonna do something you've done it you know I'm sad and I wanted to honor that and I want to respect that and um you know I'm saying I wanna also up you know big up to back main and big up to Wayne and team the whole team because I love when y'all together you know I'm saying like I'm that I'm that guy who seemed it from the beginning so I want to see it like that for the end so even if I'm naive you don't say I'll rather be that not this [ __ ] together forever where ain't nothing change that this [ __ ] together when they bury us they're gonna bury us in the same city goddamn it so we're together forever goddamn so I want to personally thank you on behalf of BEF a man can I say something I like what you're doing to me I said you're transforming and we're still doing another ship and the see y'all building with job building that's what this [ __ ] about me
