Bill Gaither, Kevin Williams, Gordon Mote and Larry Gatlin - Comedy

i have on several occasions the brothers and i have done um we've done the symphony here twice the san antonio symphony uh and i did uh i went around the hall and found the show you know where they to do all this for the civil war musical i was in frankfurt it's a civil war so no nobody's asked me to vote tonight so i guess i guess i'm not singing tonight but it's a rare opportunity for me to listen and that's going to be wonderful i know i'll be blessed and uplifted my very favorite local group except for the gatlin brothers is here tonight the isaacs and the gaither vocal band would be my favorite if they just had a real basic but other than that they're looking they're looking but no it's a tie it's a tie we got a lot of wonderful help up here tonight with all the musicians up here no i know you i know i know your name good but christopher phillips i was going to start with christopher over at the keyboard you're christopher and greg richie on drums wesley pritchard on the base you've already met kevin larry brewbaker and all the brass folks give them a good hand okay yeah hey they want me to announce this very quickly elmer simpkins they have found your wallet you lost your wallet elmer and they have it at the information desk in the lobby so if you want your wallet go by the information desk and show them some id okay well good luck elmer all right i'm sorry rory are you still having a good time over there and uh [Applause] and he is on fire tonight denise look at that i never seen him so keyed up yeah well you laugh at him you laughing though he graduated uh and as the most popular the most likely to succeed the most intelligent come on bill he was homeschooled for pete's sake [Applause] and gordon boat are you happy to have a gordon here tonight chris come over here um gordon does all of our dates and normally sings but i said tonight we need we're down in in convention country gospel music convention country where they are used to good old-time gospel uh convention playing right we're in texas and uh and and put this on his cd as a piano duet and and basically what you went in and played two times right you played i did but uh this guy right here son he's powerful he's awesome and he's gonna he's gonna help me we're gonna try and do a little convention music for texas here hey hey hey hey before you do that he also plays for every a country guy all the country recordings he's in fact the academy of country music just voted gordon moat their favorite piano player in all of country music it's a big honor and he also played at the opry and one of his favorite characters was was porter wagner and porter just passed away a year or so ago but it was a dear dear friend and porter and he does the best porter wagner in imitation of anybody and and porter was very proud of this porter said he keeps me very popular down on music road tell tell the story about the first time you were at the opry with portland first time i ever played with porter on the grand ole opry was at the old ryman auditorium the mother church of country music and uh yeah some of you been there wonderful place to play and hear a concert uh my wife and my mom and several of our family members wanted to come see the show from the audience uh they knew they could get backstage but they wanted to be in the audience so i call porter the morning of the show and i say porter i called the ticket office and the tickets are all sold out is there any way you could help me and he said you mean to take it she's all sold out i said i said yeah that's what the lady told me i said i just thought maybe you might could help me and he said give me 30 minutes i'll call you back and about 30 minutes later my phone rang and he said i got you four tickets that's what you needed i said yeah man that's awesome i said how in the world did you get four tickets he said well i just called him up and said hello it's porter wagner and i need four tickets for the first show tonight and the lady says to me says mr wagner the tickets is all so loud and i said you mean all the tickets for the show is all gone she said yes every one of them is gone i said you mean the if the president of the united states called and wanted four tickets you telling they was all sold out she said well no i believe we could probably find some tickets for the president well he ain't coming give me his four [Applause]
