all right so I have lots of salesman's coming in to my shop and the other shops that I've worked at and they look me in the face and they say rich you're oil that you're using is not good enough without my additives am i my salesmen before the oil comes in he says you don't need those out is because or oil is perfect look at these charts look at these look at this graph okay so we've made a few videos on when should I do an oil change and when to use OEM parts when two aftermarket parts are okay this I just this is an endorsed video this isn't anybody paying me anything and we try to make videos on my experiences everything that I've done in the shop everything I've said is either somebody that I directly work very close with that I've seen it through their shop or something that I've personally experienced with this engine is a five nine is the 1997 5.9 and it has 1.8 million kilometers on it so but 1.1 million miles on it and I just want to tell you guys the history of how it got that high and essentially what went wrong at the end this customer hauls trailers non-stop and these are not small trailers this is not a truck that just putts around town and there's a grocery getter or hauls a trailer up north once a week this truck has way too big of trailers on it constantly it's doing a lot of work this truck probably had a hundred and eighty horse I slid the fuel plate forward and did the aneroid a little bit you can check that video out and that was because it was at 1.6 million at that time he just needed a little bit more out of it but he's able to get it to that amount because this is such a deer aided engine you can crank these up to whatever you want him to get but it will take off the life at the end of it as well now he's also a stock transmission guy 1.8 million kilometers block I think he's gone through seven transmissions yeah why don't you build a transmission why don't you put a massive built transmission in there he goes more than likely I'll still break that transmission and him being anywhere in the country at any given time you can't just rebuild a transmission that's been built up it's got different clutches and it's got different valve bodies in it and if there's an issue they'd have to if it's a little shop in the middle of nowhere they can change out the stock Dodge transmission they wouldn't be able to repair a built transmission they'd probably still put a stock one back in it again so he goes for that price I'll know when it's gone when it does go I can go to any transmission shop they'll have the kits in stock if not another transmission swap in it so keep that in mind whether it's your power stroke or Duramax or your comments if you start beefing them up it does take life off of the top end but this being 1200 pounds of Steel and pumping out a massive 160 180 190 horse it's safe to to boost it up a little bit but keep in mind that when you start getting crazy numbers and your Bowlin head gaskets and you have to start it then you're playing with fire literally this truck gets an oil change every 10,000 kilometers which is roughly every two weeks the engine after about a million kilometers on it he decided well the engine must be worn out I'm going to have it rebuilt so rods who shop this was before my time they pulled the engine out and they said why are you bringing us this engine there's nothing wrong with his engine at that time he had the cylinders honed and then replaced the Pistons and they said you don't need to he's like well I already bought the whole kit throw it in there put new bearings in it and away it went at 1.2 million kilometers this unfortunately the cylinder had cracked it was in between five and six things happen he put a new cylinder head on it and at 1.8 million kilometers this engine decided to crack and it's not worth fixing and this is generally where those blocks cracked now steel can only expand and contract so many times it can only vibrate so much even the Pistons go up and down as miniscule little vibrations that work on the steel and it can only do so much so at 1.8 million kilometers of hard hard work this engine still pulled like a freight train and it still has the crosshatch on the cylinders on the original block that's never been bored yes it was honed but it stills the crosshatch and that is I can 100% say because of the oil the maintenance and this is a real-life experience this customer has owned this truck since new bought it off the lot has never seen any other oil besides Shell Rotella and as soon as the engines worn in everything seated and the Rings are set starts adding lucas fuel stabilizer and fuel additives to the oil now when a when his other drivers don't add the fuel stabilizer to the fuel he says he can he swears he could feel a difference I take his word for it he's a professional driver that's all he does is drive these trucks and he's had this truck since new so are you gonna argue with him you can he's not gonna listen to you because the proof is in the pudding that when you made the Lucas with the shell you can get a million miles out of your Cummins you can go buy whatever oil and whatever additives you want I am 100% sticking with shell and I can tell you stuff works so comment down below as to what engines have actually hit the million mile mark somebody keeps saying that there's a 600 or 64 out there that has a million miles on it but I think Bigfoot drives that nobody's ever shown me a link or a picture or anything yet so definitely comment down below if your Jairam axes or your power strokes have hit that high as well I know the seven threes lots of them out there that have made it there great engine but for me I know that I will be running shell I will be continuing to use shell in all my vehicles and all my customers vehicles comment down below what you guys run and yes thanks for watching here we go
