bring the energy let's go this is crazy the level for season 10 is sky high absolutely we've almost given out half of our aprons let's pick very very carefully i put everything on the line to be here and you better believe i'm about to get an apron i am making my signature fish growing up trolls were the essential street it's a humble dish and in a nutshell that's who i am my name is mike yaro i'm 19 years old and i'm from grand rapids michigan i started cooking every day when i was 12 years old and food to me is what i wake up for it's my passion i don't have anybody here supporting me right now but i do this to be able to pursue a dream that i've had since i was a little boy my dad really wanted me to go to school really badly and me choosing cooking really broke his heart when i told my parents that i'm going to audition my dad told me expect the locks to be changed when you come home i love them so much but nobody's gonna hold me back for my dreams make sure it's beautiful you got arone sanchez about to eat your churros all right six five four finishing touches the competition in masterchef season 10 is next level this means everything because this could literally change my life thank you welcome first name how old and what makes you stand out [Music] my name is micah i'm 19 and this is my passion my hunger i left everything behind to be here and i came here with no one a lot of my family do not view culinary arts as a worthy way to spend my time but i remember when master chef came out i was nine years old and i realized that this is a platform that could launch somebody who comes from nothing and do you have nothing at the moment yeah i don't even know if i have a home to go home to when i go home courageous describe the dish please they are my chorus conch chocolat fewer dishes represent who i am it's street food i'm a street kid [Music] they are humble the big question is are they good enough for an apron [Music] the fact that you dusted it with the cinnamon while it was still hot that's traditional but the chili too much baby [Music] cooking's clearly near and dear and you're a very humble guy and you fought to cook but it's a bloody churro joe does it warrant an apron for me it's not arom that churro dish does not show me enough so my answer is no gents i think you two are wrong i know what it's like to have passion to turn your life around and that's why [Music] i'm going to be giving you this [Music] this is a battle pass for the first time in this competition joe iran and myself have one individual judges save to use across the entire audition process i'm playing my card on you you have a second chance to battle it out whoever these two guys give their pass to you're going up against for the last apron in the biggest cooking competition anywhere on the planet is that clear yes chef there must be other dishes in your wheelhouse that you're capable of nailing i believe in you thank you chef can we get this good luck thank you chef there's something in him that resonates with me at 19. you just wasted your battle card gordon i thought i was going home but for gordon ramsay to say that he believes in that's a dream come true man next step is the apron i want it let's go come on come on with the auditions now over 19 aprons have been handed out and only one last coveted apron remains congratulations to you talented 19 you made the cuts [Applause] but you know there is still one more apron up for grabs it's time to start the battle round first up the person that i gave my battle pass to micah [Applause] i literally left everything behind to be here i don't have the support of my family but i know this is what i'm supposed to be doing next up i gave my battle pass to charlie and finally i chose mali i quit my job i have changed everything to be here and i'm ready to start a new chapter in my life [Applause] we asked you three to make us one other dish that is worthy of this final white apron you've got a big second chance to get yourself into the top 20 of the biggest cunnery competition anywhere on the planet you three ready to cook the best dish your life yes chef good you're 45 minutes start there was a lot of pressure it's just the three of us against each other only one of us was going to get the apron and it was our first time cooking in front of the judges pace yourself keep it up guys come on micah good job here's the thing guys we want to see a vast improvement to that first time round and i hope that the nerves doesn't get the best of them it's really important to stay composed and stick to the plan chris that skin baby doll get it micah cooking for an apron is a dream come true especially having a second chance like this last time i made churros but it showed a lack of skill it's a bloody churro but i believe in you to feel his endorsement was really something special give us an insider dish i am making chili lime sea bass with cilantro quinoa and stir-fried eggplant and shiitake just be careful when it comes together especially eggplant i'm counting on you okay good luck thank you chef michael how's the fish doing i'm about to see looking good awesome nice michael it man walking walking great job micah right micah how are you doing i'm feeling prepared i really think that i can nail this good you've got the butterfly thing do you feel let's get inside down make sure you baste that fish and also you've still got plenty of time hey young man don't plate this dish too early there's elements there that need finesse focus stay clean eight minutes remaining there you go 20 time guys okay micah don't play too early one of the biggest key components is the plating i need to make sure that it's perfect now's the time guys to start plating this is do or die for her she's got to nail these last two tortillas come on chuck you got it girl come on you got it that's okay come on get it right got an apron on the line i got it stuck for the freaking thing she's having all kinds of issues right now get off might be in jeopardy of not being able to produce a plate wow two minutes to go come on guys you in the game charlie you in the game oh my god one of the things that concerned me about micah's dish is that all of that eggplant is kind of cut very clumsily they're big pieces and when eggplant is cut too big it can be dry 60 seconds remaining guys come on last minute go guys come on [Applause] yes sir it looks beautiful come on molly i am so worried about this pork loin hopefully that came out right great color spirit [Applause] i'm really not a fan of my stir fry it looks really messy and unsophisticated i'm just praying that fish saves me right now the moment of truth and for joe i run myself to taste all of your dishes and decide who gets the final apron [Music] charlie you're first up so there was some talk of vodka in the batter didn't make it in or not the vodka made it in the batter are you happy with the dish i'm very happy with the dish i tasted the fish it's crunchy and tender here we go i'm desperate to see what the impact the vodka had on the batter i'm not into the vodka at all batter should be crisp the next dish would like to taste is from you molly please bring it up when i cut this open molly what are you hoping to see that interior of this chop look like a nice glistening a little bit of pink not over dry not tough or anything we shall see young lady [Music] see how raw that is that doesn't look right final dish for scrutiny micah ginger lime sea bass with quinoa and stir-fried eggplant with shiitake mushrooms [Music] it looks good skin looks crispy fish was basted beautifully for me the rest of the dish is just a little bit amateurish [Music] man yeah that's a good one [Music] i'm just wondering do you have a point of reference have you eaten in a starred restaurant and had a piece of fish like this before no sir i've never eaten a starred restaurant it's perfect thank you chefs [Applause] [Music] yeah let's get one thing clear you've nailed the fish it's cooked beautifully um the sad news is that the cabbage and the eggplant is greasy it's all sort of into a cloying heavy soggy mess and some of those eggplants are undercooked yeah i wish the whole thing were at the level of the fish itself thank you michael uh please give us a moment to discuss i want this so desperately i have put so much on the line for this this is tough the best fried fish and the best pan roasted fish but the final dish wasn't perfect yeah but i think she shows a lot of promise so we have our decision [Music] right uh let's get straight to the chase the moment of truth it's been a tough enough evening all three of you should be incredibly proud well done that said we only have one apron to give out tonight the person earning that final apron for masterchef season 10 is [Music] micah well done [Applause] molly charlie uh what can i say well done and promise me you'll both keep cooking always well done both of you [Applause] [Music] right young man first of all great job what a difference i've never been given a second chance in life and to have somebody like you stand up for me and believe in me means more than you'll ever know take the nice experience and absolutely continue climbing that ladder congratulations well done get this on hey good job uh get that on head upstairs i have dreamt about getting an apron and standing up on that balcony since the time i was nine years old yeah here we have it the top question wow for all of you standing up there trust me the most incredible journey of your lives start right [Music] now there truly is no better ingredient to sizzle up on those grills than bolt beautiful beef oh wow it's what's for dinner let's roll let's roll let's roll let's go let's roll let's roll that's what i'm talking about let's go oh yeah it's a freaking cornucopia of meat it's dang near the whole cow beef is what's for dinner but beef is what's going to send me up so that why they i'm so excited we're looking today for a hearty plate the beef should be the star the dish should pop with flavors and excite just like a summer fireworks show now in addition to all this mouth-watering beef you will have access to the full masterchef summer patio pantry to make your steak dish sing today the home cook with the worst dish sadly will be eliminated we'll have one amazing hour to cook us a very delicious composed grilled meat dish you guys ready yes yes your one hour starts now let's go guys so our first master backyard box very exciting what an amazing challenge absolutely and everybody fancies himself a great backyard barbecue warrior right the weekend comes around you want to impress your family and friends when i want to go to your house oh really there you go let's talk about the hero the meat what cup would you use i'm going to go bone in rib eye 100 all day long i like a bit of a fattier steak so i'll go with the new york strip i'll take one of those t-bones the advice of t-bone you've got the strip loin and you've got the full-length so that's a dream come true perfect this is elimination so we need to elevate this tonight use the grill as your backbone but we want to see the attraction on the plate all right here we go it needs to be rest in quality that's what they're going to struggle with today micah how's it going man going good super thank you i started cooking every single day when i was 12 years old i had to cook burgers and meatballs for my family but i've never worked with something this nice in my entire life the quality of the beef that they've given us is amazing everything is top of the line and i'm so pumped for this just over 40 minutes to go all of you look at me stop the clock stop the clock listen up season 10 yes chef yes we've decided today that your main course isn't enough you've got half an hour left we want to see a dessert kidding me no of course they're gonna make us do a freaking dessert why wouldn't they make us do a dessert that's right a delicious grilled dessert because any day i wanted to be safe from the elimination challenge this is the day oh my god i feel like i'm about to have a meltdown be smart don't over complicate it the club starts now let's go hello one portion guys all right guys here's the real challenge now you got to make a grilled dessert what do you make i'll get some of those peaches and do a fast-tracked grill peach cobbler use the barbecue like an oven it's exactly that sounds good all right for me i'm going to use that pineapple carve it out grill the whole thing and just make the most beautiful sort of berry hash and maybe just do a quick little whipped cream again dollop it with that love you bye well i gotta do an elvis classic a grilled peanut butter banana sandwich drizzle it with a little maple syrup infused with butter sandwich together yeah sandwich together powdered sugar on top yeah really good yeah i like that idea guys for 25 minutes to go what's he putting on that kebab it looks like peach sprouts strawberries i think that's risky like you think of fruit kebab yeah easy but not so easy no all right micah what do you got grilled peach kebabs yes so i did peaches plums and strawberries with a honey raspberry dark rum glaze on the side i have a honey raspberry lime dipping sauce my dessert appears to be simple but it's tricky it takes a level of finesse to work with grilled fruits if i overcook that strawberries and undercook the peaches it's going to taste disgusting so this has to be perfect nice and simple yesterdays look great 15 minutes to go guys let's go dorian do you have any mint yes can i have some place no it's like i'm just playing wow i was like i thought we were bad yeah i ain't got nothing to do with being friends in the kitchen hey man 90 seconds to go guys let's go here we go one beautiful grilled meat entree come on guys 60 seconds to go guys keep it going we go come on finishing touches let's go here we go final plush come on you should be plating it right now 45 seconds to go remember dessert on the side please amazing good job this was a tough one this was not easy micah please bring up your steak dish that's good buddy let's go this big one i have a barbecue rubbed t-bone with charred lemon broccolini and a smokehouse sweet potato puree so visually you've got a great charm there are you certain this cooked beautifully i believe so chef how is this steak supposed to be cooked medium rare chef let's see what we got here [Music] perfect perfect perfection cooked beautifully uh well done the steak's delicious the puree's a little bit grainy if you could grill the potatoes on there leave them grilled on there yeah for me i just love your your rub i want more of it red chili and all the spice that's emanating from that thank you chef micah please describe your dessert i have a summer fruit skewer grilled with plums strawberries and peaches and a raspberry lime dipping sauce now you're comfortable that the strawberries will cook at the same time that something dense and meaty like a peach would cook no that's why i ended up taking them off the skewer and grilling them differently smell i mean it's so simple yeah it's so elegant [Music] delicious you were the only one that using the grill was able to caramelize natural sugar of the fruit which is something that's very difficult to do without burning it bravo really great dessert of the day so far great job thank you joe thank you okay so the next cook cooked a perfect medium rare steak and then they went on to execute probably the most difficult dessert of the evening and that home cook is [Applause] everybody ready to find out what's in store tonight yes this next challenge is a true monster [Music] tonight is all about immunity win this upcoming challenge and you'll be safe from tomorrow's elimination let's get this going tonight we have a huge guest this guy's a multi-mission star restaurateur an expert in japanese cuisine and one of the most exciting shifts to grace any kitchen on the planet oh my god please welcome chef morimoto wow [Music] morimoto the iron chef one of the titans in the culinary world i'm completely starstruck i'm a huge fan of morimoto i can't even believe he's standing in front of me right now it's it's insane good job oh my god chef welcome to the master chef kitchen it's taken us 10 years to get you here but thank you 10 years congratulations on all the success thank you thank you um guess what chef murdo has brought in these beautiful humongous king club king crab alaskan king crab now these crabs are plucked out that pristine waters across alaska and flown here and tonight all of you are gonna have to turn this alaskan king crab into something truly magical and break them down yourselves all right everyone please come and grab a crab and head to your stations come on they're heavy be careful be careful they'll poke you i'm highly allergic to crustaceans all of them it's especially dangerous to work with king crab because they have so many prickly bits i could puncture my hand and i'll start to break out in hives i'll swell up i just need to stay calm because if i get nervous if i get scared i'll fall to pieces and i can't do that now tonight you'll have 60 minutes to take your crap and turn it into a stunning dish we want to see you honor that king crab we want to honor morimoto [Music] immunity from elimination is on the line right you're 60 minutes [Music] start now yeah [Music] i've never seen these contestants so excited there's no better crab in the world you don't see it in restaurants very much because you have to charge so much for it we don't want to see crab cakes we don't want to see fried you know we don't keep it simple and pure what's the one big mistake you think they could make tonight with those crabs i don't want to see any just easy anatomy this is my most challenging one yet because i don't know how a king crab tastes i don't know how any crab tastes so i really need to use my knowledge of flavors and herbs and really put together something that's going to work i just want to say this is mind-blowing standing in front of you and gordon at the same time i i couldn't have imagined anything crazy give us the insight to the dish from you oh wow squid ink tarragon risotto and i'm gonna be doing my crab in a vermont sauce and i have over here my uh lemon saffron aioli over top it's very rare you finish a risotto with aioli why are you going there it brings it has lemon it has the brightness of the saffron it adds color to the plate over just drizzled lightly over top chef just to bring some flavor to the crabs make sure the risotto is rich buttery nothing no sir i'm not stopping allergic to chocolate but you can't even taste it you should be flaking all those little knuckles in there as well so you've got crab in there as well have in there as well okay that tastes delicious thank you chef i love the taste of micah's squidding risotto putting some of the crab in there as well fold into those knuckles 50 seconds to go are you kidding me does anybody have green onion [Music] here we go home stretch oh my god well done so simple but yet so difficult jesus that was excellent with added pressure tonight you raised the bar again chef they are on form that means you have to come back next week anything you need anything you need yeah there you go now as you work across those 60 minutes we study we taste as you cook there were plenty standout dishes tonight and with that said we've decided tonight there are six dishes that would love to take a much closer look at [Music] the first dish showed great flair and it was so nice to see that flair based on the rough week that individual had last week please step forward so the next home cook they impressed us with their plating skills and their attention to detail they have been at the top of multiple immunity challenges please bring your dish forward nick good job nick okay guys we are very intrigued to taste a little bit more of this asian-inspired dish please bring your dish forward sherry hi cherry cherry delicious that's what we're talking about here thank you the next home cook their dish told a compelling personal story fred fred please step forward thank you sir [Music] i can't believe this happened the next home cook really did a great job please bring your dish forward dorian let's go dorian great job and the final home cook we'd love to bring up had a very colorful and elegant dish [Music] micah [Applause] i'm super nervous i can't taste a single component of my dish except my aioli but aioli doesn't win challenges the entire complete dish does and i don't know how it tastes i'm just praying that it's perfect please what is the dish this is a squid ink risotto with knuckle meat flaked in a saffron lemon aioli served with crab tossed in a tarragon vermont sauce wow micah you've done the most courageous thing tonight taking squid ink and trying to get that combined with a latin king crab it's so dangerous squidding super powerful taste of zinc and really dense and really heavy shall we yes it's delicious it's just a dangerous thing to do super dangerous the aioli what's in here i have saffron lemon juice dijon and eggs here's what you did that's so brilliant about this dish is that you use the lemon aioli as you would finish a risotto with butter it's diffusing that irony deep rich flavor of the squid ink your choices have made for a very delicious well-balanced bite that celebrates crap the risotto is perfect you nailed the risotto yeah result is good this is successful dish but i need more crab flavor i'll say that here's the thing risotto's now beautifully you took 27 minutes making that risotto i watched you i felt that across the 27 minutes you were so close to your risotto you're almost making love to it oh yeah okay i've been told i'm a little clingy chef so nothing wrong with that continue being clingy especially with your rice here's the shock you're allergic to shellfish you can't even taste it and i wish that you weren't allergic because it tastes phenomenal and so it's very rare to get that on point when you can't taste where you are well done thank you thank you [Applause] right that's all i could say it's in my head it's so crazy guys there are some great dishes out there tonight really we now need a moment to discuss and evaluate these dishes thank you please you happy with the three yes sir happy yeah thanks all right thank you please i'm scared tonight's dishes were so good that we decided that we are handing out immunity to not one not two but three of you that's right half of you will be safe and half of you along with everybody else standing behind you will be facing elimination tomorrow i just want to say well done for me the most exciting challenge to date yeah yoga has never cooked king club before but you guys are amazing you guys are much much better than i thought thank you very much thank you thank you chef right the first talented home cook heading up to the a bit of a shock pretty adventurous somewhat daring but it worked congratulations [Music] micah maybe one of the best risottos in 10 year history of masterchef spot on that doesn't come lightly that was excellent excellent rice thank you joe it means a lot to me to win immunity in front of morimoto i'm the youngest competitor and for him to see that and to reward it with immunity i know that i'm
