the brand new RTX 4070 TI super is here and with Promises of around 10% more performance and crucially 4 GB more video memory for the same price as the original should you buy one and if so which part should you pair it up with well in this video I'm going to be answering just that by building the best RTX 4070 TI super gaming PC build to test and evaluate nvidia's latest GPU let's do this [Music] the Asus Rog Swift PG 49 wcd is an insane 49 in super ultra wide panel that packs a punch with a vibrant QD OLED display 0.03 millisecond response time and 144 HZ refresh rate this thing is crazy the 1,000 nits Peak brightness backed up with a custom heat sink design and impr improved air flow keeps the panel bright and prevents burning while a built-in KVM and 90 WS of USBC power delivery makes this a great monitor for a multitude of applications learn more at the first links in the description below let's dive straight into it and take a closer look at the 4070 TI super first of all feel free to use the time stamps below to navigate through different parts of this video including those all important benchmarks later wrong now the 470 TI super looks to write the wrongs of the original 47 TI a card that admittedly at times was a bit of a controversial release anybody remember the 40802 gig that's how this all started originally about a year ago the 470 TI super comes in with the same $799 MSRP but gives you an uplift in RT cors tensor and cacor all of which should deliver us a bit more performance we're not seeing uplifts quite as big as what we saw on the 4070 super by comparison to the original 4070 but it's still St enough that we should see a modest performance Improvement perhaps the biggest upgrade though comes in the form of video memory you get 4 GB more vram and crucially this vram is actually quicker than what you'll find on the original RTX 47 TTI the fact of the matter is that 12 GB of vram on the original is not enough especially on a tier of card that has this much raw power the landscape around the 47 GTI has also changed considerably since it first launched back when it was released it had no competition from AMD and even when the 7900 XT came along it started at $899 $100 more than the MSRP of the 47 TTI subsequent price drops from AMD and a GPU Market where cards are typically getting cheaper not more expensive forces Nvidia to be a bit more competitive here I think the main Hope from Nvidia here is to solidify that high-end 1440p segment our testing indicates this is obviously a great card at 1440p but has considerable legs at 4K 2 and could potentially make itself a more budget 4K alternative to the higher end 4080 4090 and 7900 xdx options options now if you're to build a system around the 7ti what part should you pick up and make no mistake this is a GPU with a lot of raw gaming horsepower and that's where this comes in the AMD ryzen 77800 x3d for $399 though I've seen this chip go as low as 349 which is mad there is no better CPU you can get for the money if of course gaming is your main priority if you want to do a bit of video editing bit of rendering some streaming you may want a couple more cares and that's where something like the i7 14700 K comes into play for gaming though this is as good as it gets AMD stacked 3D vcash basically gives you loads More Level 3 cache and alleviates one of the biggest botton neck you'll find in modern gaming CPUs it's also a chip that puts out a decent amount of heat but is hardly silly and the eight cores and 16 threads are set to be enough four games now and into the future people are really concerned at the moment with future proofing their component choices hence the push for more vram on gpus which is where Nvidia are obviously targeting with the 47 TTI with a ryzen CPU though we of course need a ryzen compatible motherboard to install that into and start assembling the buildoff that is where this comes in it's the Asus Prime x670 Pro now in many respects this board sits in quite a cool sweet spot when you look at the ryzen 7000 landscape and that's because it's one of the cheapest and best value boards on the x670 chipset that gives you all the extra bandwidth all the extra connectivity and of course overclocking support if your CPU has the ability to be overclocked IO connectivity is also really strong with plenty of 10 gig USB type A's and type- C's and a 20 gig type c for good measure to this is a board that's cheaper than lots of higher end b650 designs and is a far better choice to be totally honest with you this motherboard is even cheaper than some of the b650 options out there which have less features less bandwidth and less connectivity it's a bit of a no-brainer really now to install the ryzen chip I'm sure you guys have seen this a million times before if you haven't it's simply a case of lining up all the triangles pulling up the arm on the CPU socket be really careful of the pins obviously and then dropping the CPU in a little something like so lovely stuff socket cover goes down arm goes back on Lovely jly Ram is going to be next up I've picked up a trusty kit it's the team group T Force Delta RGB I've used this Ram a lot recently just because it makes the most sense really for a lot of the builds I've been putting together you can find it with fairly low cast latencies that's very important for ddr5 and it's got a nice bit of RGB that looks the part it's just a really solid kit of memory and isn't going to break the bank which is important today's build comes in around about the $2,000 price point you can obviously trim some cost and get it a bit cheaper than that but you don't want to scrimp out too much when it comes to building a 4070 TI based system make sure that Ram is nicely seated that looks pretty good I'll be using the gray slots for the Dual Channel memory Advantage there we go looking pretty good storage wise you've also got to go Fairly highend when it comes to powerful graphics cards ssds can actually become a bottleneck nowadays whereby the cards are so quick they can't read the game files fast enough that's where the Samsung 990 Pro comes in or at least it did until I um broke it you can buy in a range of capacities I would recommend the 2 T terb if your budget will stretch to it because obviously games are getting bigger and in a highend build like this you want all the games however the one ter Drive is fine and obviously if you've got your own storage solution you can save yourself a little bit of money even further by opting for a drive you already have or picking up a smaller capacity gem 4 drive for your boot drive and favorite games I'll leave everything metion today though at the first links in the description below for new EG and Amazon and with that the motherboard assembly is basically wow it's complete really and the next thing we can do is move this into the case now picking a case for any build is a very subjective decision and actually quite hard when you're spend in this kind of money because there are so many options I made a video recently on the best cases to buy and one of my top picks under $100 was this the thermal take CES 300 let me pop this down it's not actually particularly heavy and show you what I actually quite like about it see you get two 140 mil fans at the front nice nice a 140 at the back good you also get full size ATX motherboard support a tempered glass side panel that looks good but isn't too massive and a design that has a lot of perforation on the panels you've got loads of ventilation at the top the back the bottom and the front to help keep temperatures down we've got good GPU support as you can see if I just hover the pallet card in there you go plenty of clearance there for us to put a radiator in or anything we might want to do and it's smaller and more compact than the SS 500 giving us a bit more space now I should mention that we also quite like the white version of this case let me grab that oh dear me careful which is going to give you some options if you want something that looks a little bit different personally I love white cases from any brand but I think this execution is really really well done and the occasional black accents help give it a bit of contrast now th take have gotone a bit color mad recently and release things in so many different colors there's literally a choice and an option for everybody so much so but they actually have a matcha green version I don't know what matcha means it looks quite cool right it's definitely different if I'm being honest it's not what I'd personally rock on my gaming setup but that's more because of my personal tastes and choices than it is a reflection of the color I'll link all the different color options down below what do you guys think is the option of more colors within PC cases a good thing or a bad thing and what color would you pick out of these three let me know in the comments down below I appreciate we've sort of got sidetracked a little bit so let me remove my H cases I appreciate I look like a slightly weird PC case collector at this point and install the mother W assembly into our black SES 300 definitely going to be to the T of a few more of our viewers I think to my knowledge all of the standoffs look to be in the right place yes they are indeed which makes sliding the motherboard in actually pretty easy should just be a case of getting that in there lining it all up and popping it over the top of the standoff there are nine screws in total to add in three at the top three along the middle and three down the bottom make sure you get all of these nice and tight but don't need to overtighten or Force these we just want to make sure the motherboard isn't going to go anywhere that's basically the only purpose of the standoffs next up it's time to install the CPU cool a and this is is thermales th 280 Ultra V2 now they do an ultra and a non Ultra version the difference being the screen to my understanding but it's an area where thermaltake are actually really quite price competitive the 280 mil rad is going to be more than enough for our 7800 x3d especially as obviously you can't really overclock the x3d processors and then of course you get thermal Tes nice 140 mil fans as well for good measure the good thing though about this particular cooler and why I went for it over the 240 mil model is actually because the front of the case has two 140 mil RGB fans included as standard what that means is we can use those for the radiator and then add these included fans into the top of the case instead that's going to give us a more complete look better air flow better cooling better temperatures and there's just a whole host of advantages to it first things first I need to remove this front panel which wasn't very hard at all and then remove the pre-installed fan screws as we'll obviously need to swap these out for long radiator screws to get the radiator installed in a moment and you can see without too much bother that the radiator is going to install with absolutely no problems at all I'm then going to try and pop the actual water block onto the CPU itself remember you'll need a little bit of thermal past just to go on top of the CPU that is absolutely plenty you definitely don't want any more than what I've just done there and with that all done it's time to install the GPU so we can boot this thing up and actually test out nvidia's latest graphics card now I need to just remove these rear PCI covers and apparatus if you will and make sure that all the PCI slot covers are clear at the rear then yeah that fits it should be a case of popping the graphics card in bit of pressure yeah just a couple of screws to actually hold that graphics card in place but that is looking really really good all that then remains is the PSU and this is a power supply I've just used so many times recently and me people ask me why there's one very simple reason it's the cheapest PCI Gen 5 atx3 power supply that basically I can find on the market it's semi modulate meaning you get the motherboard and your CPU cables pre-run but everything else is to optional so you can help keep Cable Management to a minimum it's also available in higher wattage flavors so you can go ahead and pick yourself up the 850 version if you wish 750 I think is going to be adequate for our 470 TI previous gem 470 had a recommended PSU in the region of 700 WS this being 750 gives us a bit more for the slightly higher power consumption of the 4070 TI super obviously that G5 there it is Gem 5 power cable also helps to keep our cable management nice and clean and of course prevents the use of dong which can as we've seen previously cause a few problems now moving round to the back of the case I've obviously got some other cable management still to do but I can at least go in and throw the power supply at this stage so just slide that in without too many problems and four standard PSU screws at the rear are going to hold it into place then it's just a case of plugging up the motherboard CPU GPU and any front panel connectors and All That Remains is to boot this thing up see exactly how it looks and test performance in those all important gaming benchmarks I'll see you in just a moment [Music] moving through into performance and we have of course tested the 47 TI super in a wide range of titles to see exactly how it Stacks up Starfield was the first of those at 1440p high settings across the board we managed to pull 98 FPS on average from the 470 TI super this showed a pretty decent increase over the original 470 TI and is a game where we'd expect that vram increase to be particularly beneficial especially as you jump through at 1440p and especially 4K Apex Legends and the 4070 TI super also performed well here we're seeing 256 FPS on average that's more than most cards in our Tes in Far 480 and 7900 X XT it gets close to it slightly cheaper AMD rival the 7900 XT in this instance with only a few fps to separate the two cards Hogwarts Legacy also performed well this time beating out the 7900 XT with an average frame rate at 1440p high settings of 100 and 17 FPS on average this is around 9 FPS lower than the RTX 480 shown of course the still value perhaps in considering spending that bit more money but that you certainly don't need to in order to achieve a great playable frame rate cyberpunk 20 77 is next on the list at 1440p high here the 4070 TI super achieved 124 FPS on average again beating out the 7900 XT in this instance falling only behind the RTX 480 enable raate tracing and the 47t ti super wipes the floor with its AMD competition an area AMD are still yet to really catch up to be honest with you which is certainly something to know if rate tracing is of Interest move through into fortnite at 1080p competitive settings and the RTX 47 TI super again perform well here around 3155 FPS with everything set to low except the render distance which was set to far pretty level pegging again with the 7900 XT and holding its own against everything else in the field of games we tested move through into war zone at 1440p high settings with dlss and FSR enabled and set to Quality on the respective Nvidia and AMD gpus and the RTX 470 TI super again performed well here it beat out the 7900 XT by a slightly larger mark of 6 FPS with 173 on average great performance once again from the 47 TI super in this instance rounding things off we also tested Modern Warfare 2 at 1440p high settings once again why 1440p well this car is clearly at home at this resolution and here the RTX 470 TI super and 7900 XT were tied with 195 FPS on average the extra vram and performance bump of the 4070 TI super obviously proving itself to be beneficial here and the RX 7900 XT once again holding its own this feels like the most competition we've had in this segment of the GPU Market in a long long time and I have to say I'm not mad about it what do you guys think let me know in the comments down below read our full reviews of everything mentioned today Linked In the description
