what's going on guys Balkan arced at your end in today's tutorial I'm going to be continuing off on the beginner tutorial team and I'm going to be using the floor plan I did in my last beginner tutorial where I showed you how to create a simple floor plan in Revit and I'm going to show you how to set up this floor plan so we can have these cool 3d floor plan views and that you can render later on but before I get started I would just like to ask you to like this tutorial it helps me out a lot and if you haven't already I suggest you subscribe because they make tutorials like this everyday okay so here I am in Revit and if I move rabbit out of the way just a bit you can see here on desktop I've got a bunch of families that I downloaded from the internet from Revit cities so I'm going to be using these in the in the project and I'm going to be linking up some of these in the description so you can download them and use them in your own project if that's what you want so this is what we made in the latest tutorial and the link to that tutorial is in the description of this video and there are some things that we did over here that work in 2d but don't work in 3d so if i zoom in over here this little cupboard or storage area it's actually just a one one line or one thin line and if we go into 3d you can see here we've got nothing over here and the walls are too high so first let's make the walls lower so I'm just going to select all of these and go from unconnected to a level 2 and level 2 is now at 4 meters but let's bring it down to 2.8 perhaps yeah and now as you can see here wherever we had these storage areas so we've got one over here one over here and one over here they're empty because I drew them only using some detail lines so how do you fix that well we need to load in a family a three-dimensional family and then place it over here so let me go back into level 1 and let me delete all of these lines so just select them all and delete move this out of the way and let's see this this is the the storage family that I'm going to be using let me just maximize rabbit and now just by hitting space you can rotate it and let's place one over here in the corner huh zoom in kind of like that place so one over here and one more over here and now you can adjust this wall just to fit this whole segment now I'm just going to select the three of these go Co for copy and then just copy them in this corner over here and then I can move this wall just a bit now of course you can go into this family go into that this type and change some of the dimensions but I already have too much room over here this is 1.8 meters so there's enough room over here to move this out of the way and now let's just select us copy it and copy it over here now let's rotate it by 90 degrees kind of like this and let's place it over here and again we need to adjust this wall a bit and like that and move this down a bit and see over here yeah we can move this down a bit here as well so now we have a three dimensional storage area so as you can see we've got it here here and here so this works next let's go to the bathroom and as you can see over here we've got this is the area for the washing machine and that's missing that's also just a line and if we rotate it around you can see this little sink it's actually two-dimensional it's in offset from ground but it's 2-dimensional so I'm just going to delete it and let's load in a three dimensional sink bathroom sink and let's load a washing machine over here so let's delete this so I'm just going to move this out of the way again so here I've got a washing machine and here I think this is the the sink yeah wash basin yeah that's the thing so I just loved these two in wait for a second and let me just maximize the screen come on rabbit yeah when you're living in older families it might take a bit so let's see okay so washing machines so just rotate it around place it in the corner or if you can exactly place it you can just go with the align tool al is the shortcut and kind of align it like this and now you can adjust this wall kind of like that extend it a bit there we go now let's do the sink and here is the modern sink and I'm just going to attach it to the wall over here okay so we've got our bathroom completed we've got our storage area completed now let's go to the kitchen the kitchen is the most complicated so if I go into 3d you can see over here the kitchen area it's kind of it's just these blank elements and the fridge isn't really a fridge it's just a line that we have over here in the in the floor plan as well as the stove it's just the lines that you can move around so let me delete all of this not not the wall and this as well so now we only have the sink left at the sink is in 3d so that's what I'm going to use it but let's load some other elements so again just move it out of the way a bit and let's load in the fridge and the stainless stove so load the 10 and also let's load in this bar stool that we're going to use over here on the bar so if I go like this let's just place one here one here one here kind of like that and later on we're going to adjust that but let's just place the refrigerator now so just go fridge yeah there's the fridge a big fridge to keep a lot of food so let's move this in over here this works yeah and let's place the slope over here so just go 3d or components let's see where is our stove - yeah there's a lot of families in here stainless steel stove and you kind of spin it around and you just align it to this line over here I'm gonna move it in the word of it now let's align it to this oops not that yeah kind of like this and let's just move this in a bit okay so let's go into 3d so this looks alright but as you can see these chairs they're kind of going into this wall that's representing our kitchen element and the wall is too short so how do you fix this you go into level one and first you go here and for the unconnected height you change this from 0.9 to 1.3 let's say and then you go here and select the wall and go to wall opening you select this and you kind of cut through the wall and now you select this opening and for the top offset just give it one point two so it creates kind of a bar effect so you just move this over here move this over here kind of like that and if we go into 3d now you get a bar so these bar stools work with this kitchen bar okay so this is working right now next if I go down you can see we don't really have a floor so we need to load in a floor and we were going to use two floors one for the bathroom and the kitchen and one for the rest of the house so go to level one and then a let's go here into architecture go to floor and let's just go use the clients pick walls is you hover over one wall and you hit the tab key and it selects all of the walls and then you just get these flip arrows just to flip it around and then I'm just going to use the rectangle tool to go in here and kind of create a void for the kitchen and for the bathroom as we're going to be placing a separate a separate floor over there so just get to finish and this is what you get and now let's create a floor for the bathroom and for the kitchen such as go floor and go into edit type duplicate this floor hit OK and let's change the material to some tile material let's see what we have over here type in tile and let's use let's see do we have some ceramic tiles okay load something like this and just go apply okay okay okay and then just cut couple of rectangles here in these voids so just one there one here and you just finish okay and let's select the this floor we forgot to set the material for this so let's set some I don't know some wood floor some flooring material oak flooring that's ok apply ok ok so we've got all of this set up now let's just see what else we can load in so maybe this wood cabinet this is like the bedside table and let's load in this coffee table that we can use in the project so load these to maximize the screen go over here let's see this is the wood side table so let's place one on one side of the bed and let's place the other one on the other side of the bed and let's see let's find our coffee table where is it ok here's the coffee table and let's just place it over here in the living room so we've got our 3d completed so let's just go into 3d right now as you can see it looks like this and one more thing I like to set up if I go here to realistic just wait a second and you will see that the walls are grey and in the fastest way to fix this is to go to edit file or edit properties so you go here to material and you open up and you find the default material let's search ok default material and you change this color to white as well as appearance you change this color to white and you just go OK and you go apply and ok ok apply ok so it changed everything to this white material and it looks real nice and now let's cut this house a little bit or this apartment so just scroll down here and find section box and then you can select the section box make it a bit smaller and then let's reduce the height so it cuts through the windows and it looks more like a floor plan and like this okay I don't want to cut the fridge so yeah this works maybe a bit more up okay kinda like this so I like the way this looks so I'm just going to select the a section box as well as this level and open this and hide all of these elements and then you can just go here to 45 degrees and you can use this and now you can render it so I'm just going to scroll down a bit here use this crop window just to see what we're rendering okay this looks fine and then you just choose the right angle I think this angle works with this floorplan so you just hit the double R for render and you hit render and let's see what we get and this will be a quick rendering it doesn't take rabbit-hole a whole long to render a small floorplan like this and there you go it looks it looks real nice so you can use this in your projects and of course you can change the screen resolution to something way higher but anyway that's how you go from an our beginner to the floor plan to this expert looking 3d floor plan okay so that's pretty much it for this tutorial thank you for watching please subscribe like and share this video and if you have any questions comments or suggestions for future tutorials please leave them in the comment section below thank you for watching and you have a nice day
